Earl Borley
Earl Borley, 82, New Franken, died Saturday afternoon, April 26, 2003, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Sugar Bush to the late Joseph and Julia (Dantinne) Borley Sr.

On Nov. 19, 1941, Earl married Dorothy M. Dart at St. Martin Church, Tonet.

He operated the family farm at Slovan for several years and was a truck driver for Gauthier Construction Co. until his retirement.

Later, Earl was employed with Lamers as a bus driver.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; his children, Beverly (Gary) Fett, Judy (Gary) Vandenhouten, Elaine (Duane) Jeanquart, all of Luxemburg; Jillaine (Donald) Charles, Forestville; Jim (Sue) Borley, Dale (Faith) Borley, all of Luxemburg; Nancy (Carl) Wertel, Green Bay; one son-in-law, Richard Hamachek, Two Rivers; 35 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Norville (Mabel) Borley, Mark (Dorothy) Borley, Julius (Verna Mae) Borley, all of Green Bay; Wilbert (Carol) Borley, New Franken; Joseph (Lorraine) Borley, Luxemburg; Leo (Lynn) Borley, Green Bay.

Earl was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Hamachek; one son-in-law, John Estel; one grandson, Zachary Austin. Friends called at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 28.

Visitation continued after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Sugar Bush.

Prayer service was at 7 p.m., Monday, led by Sally Reynen, Pastoral Minister.

Funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Rev. Dean Dombroski officiating. Entombment was at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. The Borley family wishes to thank the Doctors and Staff of Luxemburg Medical Clinic and the Staff of Parkview Manor Nursing Home for care given to Earl.

Helen M. Olson
Helen M. Olson, 82, Algoma, and formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 28, 2003, at her home. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on May 30, 1920, to Joseph and Frances (Gergela) Dvorak. Helen graduated from Paris Academy and was a beautician for 25 years. She married Earl Olson in September 1959 and in 1981 he retired and they moved to Algoma.

Helen belonged to the United Methodist Church in Algoma. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Club and a member of the National Beam Club. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Kewaunee County Food Pantry, at the meal site and at the church.

Helen is survived by two stepchildren, Ron (Nancy) Olson, Zoe (Saul) Jovet; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Dvorak, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two nieces, Janet (Jack) Dunn, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Jane Salat, Algoma.

She was blessed with many great friends, which she treasured. Among them were Bob and Rita Lohrey, Cass Wells and her family, Don and Rosie Smith.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and then by her husband, Earl, on April 2, 1993. Memorial services will take place graveside at the Czech National cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, Algoma, assisted the family with arrangements.

Loretta Leona Rupprecht
Loretta Leona (Manthey-Zorn) Rupprecht, age 97, passed away Sunday morning, April 27, 2003, at the Luther Home, in Marinette.

She was born Dec. 4, 1905, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Carl Manthey-Zorn and Lorette (nee Nienhueser). She was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on June 29, 1919. She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School and attended Northwestern College in Watertown, and Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn., graduating in 1926. She taught at Zion Lutheran School in Cleveland, Ohio, for 10 years. She was married to Herbert Rupprecht, also a Lutheran school teacher, on April 14, 1936.

Their marriage was blessed with five children, Charlotte (Mrs. Will Wietzke), Lois (Mrs. Fred Mueller), Anita, Pauline and Jonathan (Carmen). During their marriage, they lived in Cleveland, Ohio, Pontiac and Rogers City, Mich., Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, and Milwaukee. She returned to teaching in 1959 at Immanuel, Kewaunee, and finished her career teaching kindergarten half days in Milwaukee.

In 1983, she moved to Beatrice, Neb., near her daughter, Charlotte, and family, and in May of 1987, moved to Northland Village in Marinette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 1983, and her daughter, Pauline, on April 27, 1999. She is survived by three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Elinor and Inga Zorn of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marinette, with the Rev. Jon Tesch officiating. Visitation will be held after 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home, Marinette, is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions are suggested for Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or Wisconsin Lutheran Child and Family Service.

Ermine (Mickie) Wyman
Ermine (Mickie) Wyman, age 76, of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Kewaunee, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her home in Kewaunee, where she recently moved to be near her family.

She was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Spencer, Wis., to the late Leonard and Lorena (Krause) Cramer. Mickie graduated from Spencer High School in 1944 as valedictorian. After high school, she graduated from Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee. She married William Wyman April 12, 1947, in Spencer. She and William owned and operated several retail grocery and clothing businesses in Spencer, Abbotsford and Kewaunee, until retiring to Cape Coral, Fla., in 1984. She was very active in her WELS Lutheran Church as well as golf and tennis. She was also active in the Wisconsin Club and New Residence Club in Cape Coral.

Survivors include her husband, William; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wynn and Jan Wyman of Elmhurst, Ill.; and Tim and Lorry Wyman of West Chicago, Ill.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Joe Kohlbeck of Kewaunee; Jody and Steve Gee of McHenry, Ill.; and Gayle and Kurt Ullmer, De Pere; six grandchildren, Kendyl Wyman, Tysyn and Eric Wyman, Rachel Kraemer, Layla and Sally Gee; and two stepgrandsons, David Reimann and Kiefer Kohlbeck; one brother and sister-in-law, Elroy and Ilene Cramer, Rock Falls, Ill.; one sister, Angeline Colrud of Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Cramer.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee, until the time of services. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with Rev. Randy Schoemann officiating. Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee, is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to give special thanks to friends and church members of Abiding Love Lutheran Church of Cape Coral, Fla., for their help and support, and Hope Hospice of Cape Coral and Unity Hospice of Green Bay.

Mrs. Mitchell Budzban
Mrs. Mitchell (Beatrice) Budzban, 84, Luxemburg, passed away Sunday morning, April 13, 2003. She was born on Feb. 28, 1919, in Kewaunee County, to the late Frank and Mary (Schlies) Krines Sr. On May 16, 1945, Beatrice married Mitchell J. Budzban at St. Lawrence Church, Stangelville.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Mitchell; their five children, Dennis (Ann) Budzban, Mukwonago; Don (Alice) Budzban, Green Bay; Diane (Jack) Salentine, Kewaunee; Darrell (Jeanette) Budzban, Green Bay; David (Sue) Budzban, Luxemburg; 12 grandchildren, Holly (Peder) Wise, Daniel (Stephanie) Budzban, Kate Budzban, Steven Budzban, Nicole Budzban, Mike (Molly) Salentine, Brian Salentine, Ryan Budzban, Victoria Budzban, Christopher Budz-ban, Kenneth Budzban, Michelle Budzban; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Wise, Mitchell Salentine; one brother, Frank Krines, Stangelville.

Beatrice was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Madison Wise; one infant brother; one sister, Betty (Raymond) Davister; two sisters-in-law, Anastasia Krines, Margaret Krines.

Friends called at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, and between 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home Wednesday. Prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary's Church, Luxemburg, with the Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment was in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Parkview Manor Nursing Home, St. Vincent Hospital, for care given to Beatrice.

Frances Ann (Holsbach) Charles
Frances Ann (Holsbach) Charles, 82, Green Bay resident, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Rennes Nursing Home in De Pere. She was born July 5, 1920, in Kewaunee County to the late Theodore and Anna (Srnka) Holsbach. Frances attended Gregorville Grade School and graduated from Algoma High School.

She married Harris D. Charles on June 24, 1942, at St. Peter's Church in Lincoln. Their marriage lasted 60 years. Harris preceded her in death Jan. 28, 2002. Together they raised four children.

Harris served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years and Frances created warm and inviting homes wherever they lived. They had tours from Illinois, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Sheboygan, Wis. Fran had the gift of hospitality. She loved serving delicious meals to family and friends. Fran also loved babies. She tenderly cared for foster babies through Catholic Social Services until they were adopted.

She volunteered at the Red Cross and guided her children to pursue healthcare careers. She and Harris were regular visitors at nursing homes, bringing Holy Communion and praying the rosary with the residents. Fran loved God all of her life, was very devoted to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary daily. She was an active member of St. Bernard's Parish. Frances endured her Alzheimer's disease with grace. She always had a smile for those who cared for her.

She is survived by her four children, Paula (Jim) Benson, Monona, and their children, James (Katie), Thomas and Barbara; Pamela Marie (Charles) Drobny, Nashville, Tenn., and their children, David (Maggie) and Emily; Jerome (Marcela) Charles, De Pere, and their children, Diego, Caroline, Liliana, Stephen and Olivia Rose; Rosemary (Ralph) Lopez, Las Vegas, Nev., and their children, Joseph and Katie Rose; three great-grandchildren, Henry, Amelia and Livia; one brother, Ted Holsbach, Algoma; one sister, Helen Tlachac, Forestville.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melissa Charles; one brother, John Holsbach; and one sister, Bernice Paul.

Friends called at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay, from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, and after 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Green Bay, until time of Mass. Parish wake service was held Thursday at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Entombment was at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Fran's name.

Fran's family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Roderick Meves, the nurses and staff of Highland Healthcare and the nurses and staff of Rennes Nursing Home. The care given to Fran and her family will always be remembered.

Grace J. Ebert
Grace J. Ebert, 95, formerly of Algoma, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the Bornemann Nursing Home.

She was born July 17, 1907, in the town of Ahnapee to August and Helena (Kirchoff) Heidmann. Grace graduated from the Algoma High School in 1924.

She worked as a secretary for a law firm in the area for many years and also held various office jobs in the Algoma area for a number of years.

Grace married Walter Ebert Sept. 16, 1938, in Kewaunee. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1973. Grace is survived by one sister, Gertrude Detjen, Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Grace Heidmann, Algoma; two nieces, Ellen Walker, Phoenix, Ariz.; Joanne Ripp, California; and one nephew, David Heidmann, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; and one brother, Alvin Heidmann.

Friends called at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, until the time of services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Roy Beyer officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, Algoma.
