Lobeck, Mary Kay "Kate"

VIROQUA - Mary Kay "Kate" Lobeck, age 57, of Viroqua, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 3, 2004, at Encore Senior Village in Stevens Point. She was born on Dec. 24, 1946, in Madison to Robert and Elizabeth (Kern) Manion. Kate graduated from Edgewood High School in Madison in 1964 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for two years. She was married to Richard Lobeck on June 29, 1968, in Madison. Kate worked for Warf Institute in Madison as a lab technician studying cancer chemotherapy for a number of years, and later became a homemaker and cared for beef cattle on the family farm. Survivors include her husband, Richard Lobeck of Viroqua; daughters, Erin (Rob) Clint of Stevens Point, and Amanda Lobeck of LaCrosse; mother, Elizabeth Manion of Madison; sisters, Lynn Manion of San Francisco, Calif., Joan (Bob) Washtock of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Sara (John) Huston of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and brothers, Mark (Rita) Manion of Leesburg, Va., and Steve Manion of Madison. Kate was preceded in death by her father. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at PISARSKI/DZIKOSKI FUNERAL HOME in Stevens Point. Chaplain Bill Christiansen will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of services on Friday, at the funeral home. WAUNAKEE/ HARVARD, ILL. - Arlene M. Lucey, age 90, of Waunakee, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hooverson Funeral Home.

Randall, Claire L.

PORTAGE - Claire L. Randall, age 86, of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage. Claire Randall was born on Dec. 28, 1917, in Marble Rock, Iowa, the son of Roy and Alma (Bettin) Randall. He was married to Mildred Steinhorst in June 1967. She preceded him in death in May 2004. He served his country with the U.S. Army. Claire had farmed on the family farm for many years, and also had worked at Gisholt's in Madison. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio. Claire is survived by four step-children, Robert (Jan) Steinhorst, Florida, Warren (Mimi) Steinhorst, Arena, Betty (George) Hanson, Bayfield, and Corinda (Alwood) Kowald, Portage; a brother, Wallace Randall, Wyocena; a sister, Carol Briggs, Madison; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Randall; and his wife, Mildred. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at the REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH, Rio, with the Rev. Mark Buchan officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at St. John's cemetery, Rock Springs. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church.

Richardson, William W.

HILLSBORO - William W. Richardson, age 90, passed away on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at the Schmitt Woodland Hills Care Center, Richland Center. He was born on Jan. 9, 1914, to Orin and Mamie (Wildes) Richardson, in Kendall. He grew to adulthood in Kendall and graduated from the Kendall High School at age 16. He then graduated from La Crosse Business College and later La Crosse State College with a degree in history and physical education. William taught school in Kendall for four years, 1935 until 1939. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Wells on April 5, 1936, in Elroy. A career change led him to working for the Monroe County Social Services from 1939 until 1943. Their family then moved to California for a year and in 1944, William was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in World War II for two years. Following the service to our country, he worked for Thorp Finance in Hillsboro from 1945 until 1962. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the American Legion. In 1962, they made their home in Janesville where he worked for the Rock County Social Services until his retirement in 1979. Eleanor preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 2000. In April 2000, William moved to Schmitt Woodland Hills, Richland Center. William will be sadly missed, but will be thought of for his many characteristics. He had an incredibly sharp memory, especially with items of history. Also his comical sense of humor and quick wittedness will be forever remembered. He was a well respected man, with genuine care and concern for others. Survivors include his two sons, Brian (Shirley) Richardson of Hillsboro, and William W. Richardson (friend, Bonnie Abrams) of Madison; six grandsons, Dave (Nancy) Richardson, Tim Richardson (friend, Bobbi Jo), Tom (Cheryl) Richardson, W. Brian Richardson (fiancee, Sue), Douglas Orin Richardson and Andrew Richardson (friend, Kathy); and four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Tucker, Sydney and Isaiah. In addition to his wife, Eleanor, he was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Eva, who died in childhood, Fern Olson and Winifred Hofmeister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Donald Ehler officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in the Mount Vernon cemetery, Hillsboro. Friends may call at the PICHA FUNERAL HOME, Hillsboro, on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Wellnitz, William Sr. "Bill"

BRODHEAD - William "Bill" Wellnitz Sr., age 71, of Brodhead, passed away on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at his home following a three-month illness. He was born on Aug. 1, 1933, in Emerald Grove, Wis., the son of John and Margaret (Brown) Wellnitz. He married Dorothy Farmer on May 1, 1954, in Washington, D.C. Bill moved to Brodhead in 1967 from Maryland and had been a driver and dispatcher for Liberty Trucking Co. of Rock County. He was an avid antique collector, especially toys and dolls, and attended many antique shows in the area. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran, enlisting in January 1951 and being honorably discharged in January 1955. Bill was a city of Brodhead alderman from 1989 to 1998 and city of Brodhead mayor from 1998 to present. He had also been serving on the Green County Board since 2003. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, William (Robin) Wellnitz Jr., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Robert (Kelli) Wellnitz, Lake in the Hills, Ill.; a daughter, Debbie Henry, Crockett, Texas; a sister, Peggy (LaVern) Cleasby, Janesville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, five sisters, a half-brother and a half-sister. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at the CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Brodhead, with Pastor Calvin Schaver officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Brodhead, and an hour before the service at the church. A memorial fund will be established.

Weseloh, Marvin P.

BARABOO - Marvin Paul Weseloh, age 73, of Baraboo, entered into eternal life while surrounded by his family at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, after losing his battle with cancer. He was born on April 4, 1931, in the town of Washington, Sauk County, the son of Paul and Rosa (Brandt) Weseloh. Marvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He farmed most of his life south of Lime Ridge. Marvin also worked for the Weston School District until semi-retiring. He later worked for Don Larson Chevrolet in Baraboo until June 2003. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching the Packers and Brewers. On Aug. 19, 1978, he was married to the former Betty Faivre Sosinsky. Survivors include his beloved wife, Betty; a son, Bernie (Carola) Sosinsky of Wisconsin Dells; three daughters, Lori (Tim) McCauley of Coon Rapids, Minn., Jodie (Todd) Spink of Iola, and Crystal (Darcy) Flath of Milwaukee; three grandsons; four granddaughters; a sister, Enola (LaVerne) Koenig of Reedsburg; his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Doris Faivre of Reedsburg; several nieces and nephews; cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at HOOF FUNERAL HOME, Reedsburg, with Pastor Ray Harms officiating. Interment with military rites will be in Greenwood cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at the funeral home.

West, Evelyn V.

STOUGHTON/ LORETTA/ DODGEVILLE - Evelyn V. West, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in Dodgeville. She was born on Nov. 9, 1924, in the township of Rutland, the daughter of Emil and Mabel (Anderson) Johnson. Evelyn attended school at Bass Lake Elementary School and graduated from Stoughton High School. She was united in marriage to John William West on June 5, 1943, in Belleville. Evelyn enjoyed fishing, cooking and crocheting. She enjoyed making dolls, and knitting and crocheting clothes for the dolls she made. Evelyn especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. She worked as a nursing assistant at Stoughton Hospital for 27 years. Evelyn is survived by her husband, John; and their son, Howard (Alice) of Dodgeville. She is further survived by grandchildren, James (Tammy) of Cazenovia, Mike (Tammy) of Mount Hope, Brian of Dodgeville, Jody (Garrett) Kroll of Stoughton, and Kelly of Dodgeville; and 10 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by son, Kenneth, who passed away in May 2004. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at OLSON-HOLZHUTER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, Stoughton. The Rev. Sue D'Alessio will preside. Burial at Riverside cemetery will follow the service. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Bolstad, Elsie

READSTOWN - Elsie Bolstad, age 94, of Readstown, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born to Fred and Lulu (Robinson) Mundt, on Sept. 17, 1910, in rural South Dakota. She married Oscar Bolstad on Sept. 28, 1940. They farmed on Stump Ridge until retiring in 1971, when they moved to Readstown. In recent years, she moved back to the farm to live with her son, Charles and his family. Elsie was a member of Franklin Lutheran Church. Elsie is survived by her son, Charles and his wife, Karen (nee Oliver) of Stump Ridge, and their children, Paul of Washington D.C., and Jennifer of New York City; her daughter, Anna and her husband, Jonathan Green of Milwaukee, and their children, Olivia of Milwaukee, and Sophia of Minneapolis; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister, Emma Davenport; her brother, Roy Mundt; her daughter, Julia; and her son, Oscar Jr. Funeral arrangements will be held on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at 11 a.m. at FRANKLIN LUTHERAN CHURCH in Folsom. The Rev. Pete Beckstrand will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the SIME FUNERAL HOME in Readstown on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Brings, Mary M.

BLUE MOUNDS - Mary M. Brings, age 74, of Vermont Township, died on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center of pancreatic cancer. The former Mary M. Prem was born on March 19, 1930, in Plain, to Joseph and Catherine (Lehner) Prem. She married Bernard Brings on June 19, 1951. They farmed at Elver's Corner for many years before retiring and moving to their present residence in Vermont Township. She worked for Head Start and then was the coordinator for Dane County Senior Outreach. She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie. She was a Catholic Knights 50-year recipient. Mary is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Tom Gross) Johanna of Blanchardville, Edward (Nancy) Brings of Spencer, Catherine (Scott) Tadlock of San Diego, Calif., Jean M. Brings of Madison, John Brings and Rose Marie Brings, both of Vermont Township, Louis (Lisa) Brings of Verona, and William J. (Bonnie) Brings of Vermont Township; three sisters, Catherine (Lawrence) McDonald of Truman, Martha (Rudolph) Erickson of Wilson, and Dorothy (David) Gorman of Janesville; six brothers, Edward (Mary) Prem of Loganville, Joseph (Karen) Prem of Reedsburg, Anthony (Randeen) Prem of Spring Green, Michael (Mary) Prem of Franklin, Andrew (Rose Mary) Prem of Plain, and William (Sandra) Prem of Spring Green; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard, on Sept. 29, 1998; her son, David, on Sept. 11, 1981; and her daughter, Christina, on Sept. 16, 1998. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at ST. BARNABAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Mazomanie, with Father Jason Hesseling officiating. Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Catholic cemetery, Cross Plains. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. Cullen, Malcolm J.

MILTON - Malcolm J. Cullen, age 80, died on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004. He was born on March 4, 1924, the son of John and Esther (Duckett) Cullen. He was married to Elizabeth "Betty" O'Leary on Sept. 25, 1948, at St. Patrick's Church, Janesville. She preceded him in death in 2001. Malcolm lived and farmed his entire life in the Milton area. He was a member and director of the Harmony Mutual and Sugar Creek Mutual Insurance Companies for 37 years. He served on the Johnstown Town Board for 20 years. He also served as a director of the former Associated Milk Producers Inc. and as a seed dealer for Super Crost Seeds. Malcolm was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church since 1948. Malcolm enjoyed playing cards, watching the crops and following local sports teams. He also enjoyed Friday night fish-frys. Malcolm and Betty spent many years dancing with the Milton Village Squares. Surviving are his five children, John (Debbie) of Waunakee, Carole (Dewayne) Fibrow of Blythe, Calif., Jim and Bob (Marci), both of Milton, and Greg (Sheila) of Tomah; his 17 grandchildren, Sara (Marty), Katie (Brad), Krystal, Angela, Andy, Mike, Dan, Kellie (Eric), Shawn, Kaylee, Courtney, Claire, Casey, Stephanie, Patrick, Derek and Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Drew and Madeline; a sister, Phyllis (Owen) Haugom of Milton; two sisters-in-law, Agnes (Ralyn) Brewer of Rockton, Ill., and Mary O'Leary of Milton; and three brothers-in-law, Richard (Marion) O'Leary, Harry (Barbara) O'Leary and Conrad Oleston, all of Janesville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at SAINT MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton, with visitation starting from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Saint Mary cemetery. Visitation will also be on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., concluding with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, Milton.

Nelson, Joyce B.

STOUGHTON - Joyce B. Nelson, age 75, died on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital, Madison. Services are planned for Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the OLSON-HOLZHUTER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, Stoughton. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until time of services on Monday. In lieu of flower, the family suggests that memorials be made in Joyce's memory to U.W. Clinical Cancer Center, Caring Corner Day Care, or to any recreational or educational programs for special needs children. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday's Paper. Winn, Beatrice "Beati"

LAKE DELTON - Beatrice "Beati" Winn, age 75, of Lake Delton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at University Hospital, Madison, after a long battle with cancer. Beati was born May 1, 1929, in Stevens Point, Wis., the daughter of Bernard "Beno" and Julia (Olson) Gussel. In 1942 her family moved to Wisconsin Dells where she continued to live out the remainder of her life. On Oct. 5, 1959, she married Clark Winn at Bethany Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Dells. This year they celebrated 45 years of a wonderful and loving marriage. Beati had a deep love for her family and was her children's best friend. She worked hard providing a caring, loving home and stood endlessly by her husband, Clark, during the years that he operated Soma Boat Line. She was a friend to all who knew her, having a smile and a "hello" to those she met on the street. Her home was always open to guests and those lucky enough were treated to her Swedish pancakes. Beati enjoyed sewing and made many quilts for family and friends. She loved to golf, garden, fish and spend her summers up at their camper at Birch Lake. Beati always wanted to help people and this was especially shown during her illness. In trying to fight her own battle with cancer, her goal was to also help others with the same disease. She readily participated in experimental and new cancer treatments, some which have gone on to successfully treat other patients. Beati is survived by her husband, Clark; sons, William Parchem and Matthew Winn, both of Wisconsin Dells; daughters, Patricia (John) Johnson of Baraboo, and Deborah (Kurt) Konietzki of Neenah; brothers, Bud (Joyce) Gussel, Bob (Barbara) Gussel and Tom (Lisa) Gussel, all of Wisconsin Dells; and six grandchildren, Miranda and Erin Parchem, Melissa and Matthew Johnson, and Sarah and Heather Konietzki. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rosanne Christensen. Memorial funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at 11 a.m. at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, Wisconsin Dells, with the Rev. Craig Wolfgram celebrating. Visitation will be held at Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the University of Wisconsin Cancer Research Foundation. The family would like to express their thanks to all the doctors and nurses that cared for her during her stay at the University Hospital. "We especially would like to thank Dr. Kahl and nurses Nancy Turman and Nancy Brandt. Their kindness and compassion for Beati and her family helped us get through a difficult time." Teresa Terlecki

Teresa Terlecki, age 79 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center of Madison, Wisconsin.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Felix Oehrlein officiating. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery in Wisconsin Dells.

Teresa was born October 16, 1923 in, Poland the daughter of Jozef and Antonina (Barbarewicz) Paradowski. In November of 1957 she was united in marriage to Walter Terlecki. Prior to moving to Wisconsin Dells they had lived in Chicago where she worked for Zenith Corporation manufacturing radios and televisions.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Walter; and many friends.

Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton, Wisconsin on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Wednesday at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M.
