Alice M. Allen, 81, Glenmore. Visitation 1:30-5 p.m. today at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St. Mass of Christian Burial 5 p.m. today at the church. Survivors include six sons, Larry (Marija) Allen, Belleville, Ill., James Allen, Seattle, Wash., Cletus (Theresa) Allen, Glenmore, Robert Allen, Glenmore, Kevin Allen, Pulaski, Russell Allen, Glenmore; one daughter, Bonnie Geurts, Green Bay; 42 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

Albert A. "Al" Boerst
Albert A. "Al" Boerst, 85, Green Bay, passed away on January 14, 2003. Al was born on May 1, 1917, in the town of Hartland, Shawano County, to the late Albert and Anna (Krause) Boerst. On December 11, 1943, Al was married to the former Dorothy Jane Deuchert by his uncle, the Rev. Ben Zimdars, at Elk Mound, Wis. He was a former employee of N.W. Engineering as well as working as a Home Builder. In 1952 he began the Al Boerst Insurance Agency, where he stayed active, working until his death. During this time, he also served on the Board of Directors for Hartland Cicero Mutual Insurance Company and Mishicot Town Mutual Insurance Company. Al loved his work and working with people. He also loved traveling, especially to places where he could see nature's splendor. Al loved the outdoors. Al was a big baseball fan and especially loved Bonduel Broncos Baseball. He also enjoyed time spent with his buddies from Bonduel playing sheephead.

Al will be sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Tom Boerst and Kathleen (James) Huss, all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Josh Huss; one sister, Martha Kulhavy, Appleton; nephew, Bruce Deuchert, who was also Al's partner and friend. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Alvin.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Beth Macha officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family wishes to express a special thank-you to our neighbors and friends for all their support and care.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established with donations being given to the Salvation Army.

John LaPlant
John LaPlant, 55, Milwaukee, formerly Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Survivors include two sons, Todd LaPlant (fiancée Misty Derousha), Green Bay, Rob LaPlant, DePere; one daughter, Sara LaPlant, De Pere; his mother, Katherine LaPlant, New Franken; one brother, Thomas (Sandy) LaPlant, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Susan (Tom) Nelson, New Franken.

Donald Leverenz
Donald "Don" Leverenz, 62, Denmark. Private service was held at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Survivors include one son, Dale (Jodi) Leverenz; one daughter, Denise (Ben) Paitel; four grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Joyce) Leverenz; one sister, Ethel "Sis" (Jerome) Noble.

Orland H. Nick
Orland H. Nick, 78, Howard. Visitation after 9:30 a.m. today at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine "Lolly", Howard; three sons, Jeff (Karen) Nick, Eric (Pam) Nick, Michael (Eileen) Nick, all of Green Bay; two daughters, Debbie Nick, Green Bay, Michelle (David) Johnson, Eau Claire; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (John) Gittens, Texas, Eunice (Arnold) Plischke, Howard.

Charles C. Noble
Charles C. Noble, 78, of Waukegan, passed away January 9, 2003, at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born September 3, 1924, in Green Bay. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC, graduated from Green Bay East High School and University of Wisconsin-Madison. He attended Lake Forest School of Management. He retired from Out Board Marine Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer with 32 years in 1983. He loved boating and motors since age 5, was an avid Packers fan, loved Egg Harbor, Door County. World War II Army veteran, served in Germany from 1944-1947 and ferried troops across the Rhine after the Battle of the Bulge. He married Dorothea Sampson on May 24, 1952, in De Pere.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothea; one son, Mark C. (Sharon) Noble of Pleasant Prairie, Wis; one sister, Emily Burt of Galeta, Calif; sisters-in-law, Joan (David) Runkel of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Alice Noble of De Pere, Audrey Noble of San Antonio Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Noble; one son, Charles "Cal" Noble; brothers, Walter, Roland and Frank Noble; sisters, Mary McCorkle and Nancy Evens.

Visitation noon-1 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church, UCC, 320 Grand Ave., Waukegan. Memorial service 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Officiating Reverend James Roghair.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the church endowment fund. Arrangements by Marsh Funeral Home of Waukegan.

Robert J. O'Brien
Robert J. O'Brien, 86, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died Saturday, January 11, 2003. He was born March 19, 1916, to the late Clarence and Lydia (Remellard) O'Brien. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Robert had been employed by Wisconsin Public Service for over 40 years until his retirement in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Libal, Tempe, Ariz.; two sons, Robert O'Brien, Bettendorf, Iowa, James O'Brien, Appleton; one grandchild, Jennifer Leaym; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Danielle Leaym, both of Chandler, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Patricia Bouchard, in 1976, and by his second wife, the former Florence (Dollar) Delahaut, in 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dean and Bill O'Brien.

Friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

Gertrude "Gert" Ploeckelman, 86, De Pere. Visitation 5-8 p.m. today at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere. Funeral service 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Earl (Pat), Chilton; two granddaughters; one grandson; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Boll, Chilton, Ruth Loose, Sheboygan.

Mary Lou Schultz

Survivors include three sons, Bruce (Joanne) Schultz, Green Bay, Byron (Amy) Schultz, Suamico, Paul (Lynn) Schultz, Green Bay; two daughters, Audrey (Dane) Hanson, Appleton, Linda (Patrick) Nooyen, Howard; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Jess Esparza, Richard Esparza, both from Colorado; four sisters, Marcella Smith, Josephine Ragalado, Victoria Aragon, Frances Griego, all from Colorado.

Edythe R. Smith (Geurts, Lemerond), 81, Green Bay. Funeral arrangements were handled by Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave. Survivors include her husband, William Smith; one son, Craig (Peggy) Lemerond, De Pere; one daughter, Connie (David) Nitka, De Pere; one stepdaughter, Beverly (John) Winkler, Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepsons, Bill (Jackie) Smith, Gladstone, Mich., Randy (Margaret) Smith, New York; four grandchildren; six great-granddaughters.

Alice Allen
Alice Allen, 81, De Pere. Arrangements are pending; Cotter Funeral, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, is assisting the family.

Alice Agnes Bosar
Aunt Alice was born at 4 a.m. on April 15, 1907, in the town of Ashwaubenon to Barney and Lily (Hujet) Bosar. She went to join her mother and father; her brother Arthur and his wife, Alice; her sister Florence and her husband, Lloyd Lambert; her sister Lillian and her husband, Elmer Geurts, her brother-in-law Roland Rickaby; and her niece Beverly Lambert on Sunday, January 12, 2003, with her sisters Mabel and Gladys and her niece Pat Van Den Heuvel at her side.

Aunt Alice loved her life in the town of Ashwaubenon, living across the street from Cormier School in the big white house. She spent her grade-school years at Cormier in the one-room schoolhouse. She graduated and attended high school for two years and spent two years at the technical school on North Broadway. Aunt Alice always had a sharp mind for figures and worked as a bookkeeper for 57 years. She worked for Stewarts Dress Shop, Ben Rosenberg Furriers, Jack Koeppler Insurance Agency and finally for the city of Green Bay at City Hall.

Aunt Alice was a lifelong member of the National Insurance Womens Association. She was an active community member and volunteered with the Red Cross during World War II, was a member of the Historical Society of Ashwaubenon and volunteered at San Luis Manor Nursing Home as long as she could. She had been a member of St. John the Evangalist Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Green Bay, and was a charter member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish in Ashwaubenon. Aunts Alice and Mabel moved to an apartment in De Pere 10 years ago when Sister Florence died.

She is survived by her sisters, Mabel Bosar and Gladys Rickaby; nieces and nephews, Earl (Terry) Bosar, Elaine Klimek, Larry (Sherri) Bosar, Gilbert (Kay) Lambert, Eugene Lambert, Patricia (Ray) Van Den Heuvel, Roger Geurts, James (Joan) Rickaby, Jean (Don) Nachtway, Jerry (Carol) Rickaby and Donna (Marty) Beno; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call at Nativity Catholic Church, Oneida Street at Cormier Road, from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Entombment in Allouez Mausoleum. RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements.

Her niece and caregiver, Pat Van Den Heuvel, wishes to extend her thanks and gratitude to all the workers and staff at Rennes Nursing Home who were so good and helpful with Aunt Alice her last year of her life. After living 95 years, I am very beholding to you all for the fact she loved being there.

Mabel M. Dehn, 95. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., and 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Ninth St. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include one son, Raymond Dehn; one daughter, Lois Walk; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Francis Merrick; one sister, Katherine Fabry.

Dorothy Dessell
Dorothy (Mrs. Raymond) Dessell, 88, Green Bay. Visitation 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Leonard (Janet) Dessell, Green Bay; one daughter, Dolores (Roland) La Count, Green Bay; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Bryan R. McLester

Prayer service 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Survivors include his parents, Ronald and Janice McLester,Oneida; one brother, Ron Jr., Oneida; his paternal grandmother, Pearl McLester, Oneida.

Dorothy A. Neumann
Dorothy A. Neumann, 90, 1555 Dousman St., died Saturday, January 11, 2003, at local nursing home. She was born April 5, 1912, in Amery, Wis., to the late Lewis and Adeline (Kramer) Larsen. In 1918 she moved to Clear Lake.

She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1930. In 1934 she graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. She later earned her B.S. degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota. On August 25, 1944, she married Ervin Neumann. She earned her Masters Degree in nursing administration from the University of Minnesota. She attained the position of assistant chief nurse at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn. She moved to Cheyenne, Wyo., where she was made chief of nursing services. In 1967 she moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where she was chief nurse at the Pittsburgh Veterans Hospital. In 1968 she moved to Washington, D.C., where she held the office of chief medical surgical consultant for the North Central District of the United States. She retired in 1970 and returned to Wisconsin. After retirement Dorothy joined the Arachne Spinners Spinning Guild in Door and Kewaunee counties. She was also a published author and was a member of the Writers Guild. Mrs. Neumann was a longtime member of the West Side Moravian Church.

She is survived by a daughter and two sons-in-law, Margaret and Leon Mayer, Green Bay; John "Jack" Urban, Algoma; five grandchildren, Leann (Richard) Laiacona, Milwaukee, Anthony, John, Jean and Guy Mayer, all of Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Neumann, in 1968; a daughter, Beverly Urban; and her five brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Hicks officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

Dorothy's family wishes to express its appreciation to the staff of Grancare for providing a loving place for Dorothy to live.

Robert O' Brien

Rosemary H. Pichette
It's with great sorrow and heartfelt sadness we announce the death of Rosemary H. Pichette on January 12, 2003, at the age of 78 at a local nursing home. Rosemary was born on July 31, 1924, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

She lived in Huntsville, Texas, from August 1975 until the present. Her strong faith in God helped her through many changes in her life, and she has nurtured this faith in her family. Her actions showed her deep love for her family and people around her. She always put the needs of others before her own without expecting anything in return. She was devoted to her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and lifelong friends. She also loved to read, work with ceramics, painting and card playing. For many years, she was a volunteer worker at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, Huntsville, Texas. She was a loving and much loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Burkart in 1968, the father of children David, Mary Kay and Holly; her parents, Frank and Sis Zeise; her sisters, Joyce Rentmeester and Jean Zeise; and her brother, Jerry Zeise.

Her memory will be cherished always by husband William H. Pichette; by her son, David Burkart (Virginia); by her daughter, Mary Kay Berg (fiancé John Kamla) and Mary Kay's children, Jacob and Kelsey Berg; and by daughter Holly Pichette; and grandchildren Tina Rae (Ben) Fairweather, Sara Burkart, Ann Burkart, Gwen (Matt) Culbertson; her great-grand-daughter, Kailey Culbertson; sister and brother-in-law Donna (Robert) Neerdaels. Rosemary is further survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, Beverly Zeise, Evelyn Berg, La Verne Conard, James (Germaine) Burkart, Jim (Bev) Pichette, Yvonne (Larry) Mc Quade, Jane Quinette, Joan (Ron) Berkin, Sally (Bill) Benz, Gladys Pichette, and Ben Franckowiak; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends may call today, January 14, 2003, from 4-8 p.m. at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. Parish prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. today. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, from 9-10 a.m. directly at St. Frances Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Monsignor Roy Klister officiating. Burial will be in the Allouez Cemetery. Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rosemary's family would like to give special thanks to all who supported and comforted her in the last few months of her life, to the caregivers and regular visitors at the nursing home, and to family and friends who visited, telephoned, and sent cards. We are very grateful for all the prayers and support that we received during this difficult time.
