Jeglum, Enos Gaylin

NEW GLARUS - Enos Gaylin Jeglum, age 83, of New Glarus, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Enos was born on May 17, 1922, in Green County, son of Benhard and Helga (Anderson) Jeglum. He farmed in Perry Township for 31 years, and then moved to New Glarus in 1977. He had sold real estate (Jeglum Reality) until his health failed in 1988. He was united in marriage to the former Doris Hustad on June 15, 1944. Enos is survived by his wife Doris of New Glarus; his children, Marlyn (Coleman) Jacques of New Glarus, James (Emily) Jeglum, of Waterloo, and Brian (Sally) Jeglum of New Glarus; grandchildren, Holly LaPorte, of Chicago, Ill., Jen (Tim) LaPorte, of Denver, Colo., Amber Jeglum, Jason Blazek, Hartford, Jessica Lauerdorf, Waterloo, and Ben and Cameron Jeglum of New Glarus; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sisters, Howard (Alice) Jeglum, Avis Oppliger, Beatrice Pope, all of New Glarus, and Lois (Ervin) Evenson, Janesville; and a brother-in-law, Richard Iverson of New Glarus. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Curtis, James and Gene; and sisters, Grace and Ethel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH, with the Rev. Gene Talley officiating, with burial in the Swiss Church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2006, at the ZENTNER-BEAL FUNERAL HOME, New Glarus.

Jenson, Doris Anita

MADISON - Doris Anita Jenson, age 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Oakwood Village East. She was born on June 21, 1924, in Traverse City, Mich., to Alfred and Anna (Wetzel) Gipp. Doris was raised in Platteville, where her family owned Gipp's Smart Apparel. She graduated from Platteville High School and was an outgoing student, involved in sports, music and clubs. Doris received her B.A. degree at National College of Education/ Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. She married the love of her life, Luther Jenson on June 21, 1947, in Platteville. Doris worked as a school teacher in Beloit for a year, and then in Platteville for two years. After her teaching career, she and Luther moved to Madison and raised their five children in a loving and nurturing home. Doris was a charter member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school at various levels for 15 years, participated in many Bible study groups, served as president of W.E.L.C.A.(Lake Edge Lutheran women's group) and was a member of Priscilla Circle. Doris moved to Meadow Grove, where she served in various positions on Meadow Grove's senior citizen's social agenda, and was a member of KAYRA of Madison. Throughout her life, she was an avid bridge player and took great pleasure in creating water color paintings and greeting cards. Doris' profound influence on her family was that she always stressed the importance of a relationship with God as a source of continued guidance and strength. She will be greatly missed byher five children, Jan (Marilyn) Jenson of St. Anthony, Minn., Jon (Ginny) Jenson of Madison, Kristine (Allan Haas) Jenson of Glendale, Karen (Ed) Bosold of Madison, and Kari (Michael) Douglas of Madison; grandchildren, Carolyn, Eric and Scott Jenson, David, Andrew and Matthew Jenson, Karin and Carsten Haas, Hilary, Jenny and Ashley Huebner, and Kathryn, Alexandra and Margaret Douglas; and a brother, Loren "Pete" (Georgia) Gipp of Naples, Fla. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Luther, in 1983. Memorial services will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE EAST CHAPEL, 5565 Tancho Drive, Madison, at noon on Saturday, April 29, 2006. Visitation will be at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Oakwood Village East and/or Lake Edge Lutheran Church. MADISON - Martha V. Josheff, age 73 passed away on Monday, April 24, 2006, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, surrounded by her family, following a long battle with cancer. DALTON - Kenneth G. Knight, age 72, of Dalton, met his Savior face to face on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Kutina, Ruby M. Hobart

BRIGGSVILLE/ WISCONSIN DELLS - Ruby M. Hobart Kutina, age 89, of New Haven Township, died on Monday, April 24, 2006 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Madison. Ruby was born on June 24, 1916, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Maude ((DeHaven) Hobart. She was married to William L. Kutina, who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2003. She had been a cook for many years at Country Kitchen, Mauston and Portage. Ruby was a member of the Briggsville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Helen (Billy) Clayton, Montgomery, Ala.; her sons, Terry (Sharon) Kutina, Mauston, and Lonny (Linda) Kutina, Wisconsin Dells; her step-daughter, Mary (Larry) Seager, Mauston; grandchildren, Gary, Karen, Greg, Brian, Kelly, Willy, John, Maryjane, Buddy, Wayne, Vicky and Mike Jr., 15 great- grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Earl Alcott; her second husband, William Kutina; a son, Michael Alcott; and two brothers, Elmer and Roy Hobart. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at the BRIGGSVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Pastor Barbara Bolz officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. A luncheon will follow at the church. Leffler, Anne L.

FENNIMORE - Anne L. Leffler, age 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the Orchard Manor, Lancaster, following a series of strokes over the last two weeks. She was born on March 26, 1921, in Lima Township, Grant County, to Hugh and Florence (Peat) Waterman. She married Maurice J. Leffler. on June 3, 1940, in Lancaster. She graduated as the valedictorian of the 1938 class at Fennimore. They owned and operated Borden Milk Distributorship, Fennimore, from 1942 to 1982. She also worked on the bookmobile from 1968 to 1986, a job she loved because it allowed her to combine her love of reading, people and travel. She and Maurice traveled to 46 different states. Anne was a women of immense intelligence and love of family. She had a passion for books, flowers, birds and antiques. She was a loyal fan of Fennimore athletics and Packers and Badgers sports. She had a keen interest in politics. Throughout her life, Anne always supported the underdog. Anne was a woman of great faith and was a member the Fennimore United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Maurice, Fennimore; seven children, Linda Stephenson (Gary Chamberlain), Fennimore, Karen Rosemeyer, Fennimore, Connie (Jim) Gaddie, Kingman, Ariz., Dave Leffler, Madison, Sara (Larry) Strang, Boscobel, Kristi (Don) Peckham, Windsor, and Tom (Debra) Leffler, Madison; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Stephenson, Michelle (Todd) Kane, David (Robin) Rosemeyer, Jim (Tracey) Rosemeyer, Karie (Greg) Georgeson, Tara (Jesse) Wood, Trina (Daryl) Flannery, Tim (Kari) Strang, Todd (Dixie) Strang, Jenifer (Rob) Neveu and David Leffler; 22 great-grandchildren; a soon to be born great-great-grandson; sister, Alice Keeney, Fennimore; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by her parents; son, Maurice Leffler Jr., on Oct. 27, 1966; son-in-law, James Rosemeyer; and brothers, Otis, Donald and Glenn Waterman, Funeral services will be held at the FENNIMORE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2006, with the Rev. Duanne Andrus officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie cemetery, Fennimore. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the LARSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Fennimore, at from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. Markgraf, Clara M.

LODI - Clara M. Markgraf, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. She was born on Oct. 8, 1916, in Kaukauna, the daughter of Michael and Jenny (Vaubel) Donnermeyer. Clara was employed at Central Colony for many years. On Aug. 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Clarence Markgraf. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2002. She is survived by her children, James Blank, Jean (Jerry) Roelke and Jerry Markgraf; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Markgraf; five grandchildren, Kristin (John) Ugrob, Bonnie (Scot) Robinson, Julie Roelke, Eric (Becky) Markgraf and Michael Markgraf (Diane Baukin); four great-grandsons, Alexander Roelke, Caden Markgraf, Zachary Robinson and Jakob Ugrob; a brother, Robert (Kate) Donnermeyer; four sisters-in-law, Janice and Elaine Donnermeyer, and Elizabeth and Florence Markgraf; a brother-in-law, Stanley (Elaine) Markgraf; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; a son, James Markgraf; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Markgraf; a grandson, Chad Markgraf; her parents; five brothers, Michael Jr. (Lucille), Walter, John (Dorothy), Norbert (Lucille) and Leo Donnermeyer; and two sisters, Ella (Louis) Zellmer and Gertrude (Cliff) Vanevenhoven. Mullee, Mark

MADISON - Mark Mullee, born on Nov. 27, 1949, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Mark was admired for his thoughtfulness, sincerity, dependability and ever present sense of humor. Mark is survived by his soulmate, Suzanne; their three adoring children, Matt, Scott and Heather; his mother, Mary; brother, Michael; and many loving family members. A celebration of his life will be held at his home on Sunday, May 7, 2006, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare Inc., in appreciation of their wonderful support.

Peterson, Wilma I.

DODGEVILLE - Wilma I. Peterson, age 93, of Dodgeville, died on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab following a brief illness. She was born on July 8, 1912, in the town of Highland to Arnie and Nettie (Olson) Paulson. Wilma married Joseph O. Peterson of Avoca, on June 20, 1934, at Fairview Lutheran Church and the couple farmed in the Big Springs area until retiring to Dodgeville on Sept. 15, 1972. Joseph preceded her in death on June 6, 1990. Wilma will always be remembered for having a big giving heart, which was part of her loving and generous way. Wilma is survived by a son, Roger (Carol) Peterson of Onalaska; a daughter, Sharon Moore of Richland Center; a daughter-in-law, Myra Jean Peterson of Highland; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gage (Irene) Paulson of Janesville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles A. "C.P." Peterson; a daughter-in-law, Norma Peterson; a son-in-law, Richard Moore; and three sisters, Nona Sturdevant, Berniece Simonson and Alice Paulson in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at FAIRVIEW LUTHERAN CHURCH. Pastor Cindy S. Durst and Rev. C. David Jacobson will co-officiate with burial in Fairview cemetery. Plummer, Dorothy A.
PORTAGE - Dorothy A. Plummer, age 88, of Portage, died on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Sun Prairie Health Care Center in Sun Prairie. Dorothy was born on Sept. 3, 1917, in Lena, Wis., the daughter of John and Josephine (Larsen) Peterson. On March 1, 1941, she was united in marriage with Lewis "Woody" Plummer in Two Rivers. Mr. Plummer preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2001. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, baking and knitting. She was a member of the Boat Club and Presbyterian Church Ladies Group. She was also a big Green Bay Packers fan. Survivors include two children, Scott (Lucy) Plummer of Sun Prairie, and Kathryn (Dick) Anderson of Madison; six grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Waldvogel, Alison (Michael) Veldkamp, Alexander and Matthew Plummer, Jill Anderson and Jay Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Megan and Kaleigh Waldvogel, and Jacob and Alexndra Veldkamp; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Plummer was also preceded in death by six siblings. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. from PORTAGE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in Portage. The Rev. David Hankins will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Portage. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Radke, Reon Fredrick

Organ pic here LODI - Reon Fredrick Radke, age 64, died on Sunday, April 23, 2006. He was born on May 3, 1941, in Wauzeka, the son of Fredrick and Violet (Mezera) Radke Jr. Reon served his country in the U.S. Army from November 1963 until August 1965. He was employed by the University of Wisconsin at UW Arlington Farms, as feed mill operator for 30 years. Reon was a member of AFSCME Local No. 171. After retirement, he worked at St. Dennis School where he was much appreciated and enjoyed the many co-workers, and the children called him "the brownie man, " for his love of baked goods, especially brownies. Reon loved to tell jokes and had a host of jokes and hunting and fishing tales. He liked to be known as "RE." Reon is survived by two sisters, Donna Jones of Baraboo, and Jeannine Selvaag of Stoughton; nieces and nephews, David (Linda) Jones, Michael (Buni Roznos) Jones, Mary Jo (Butch) Chamberlain, Mark (Jeannie) Selvaag, and Eric Selvaag; great-nieces and great-nephews, Melanie, Brigette and Shane Chamberlain, Deana and Kayla Selvaag, Shawn Selvaag, and Cody and Lucas Jones; a great-great-niece, Chyla Chamberlain H.; many cousins; a very special friend, Rosie Troia; and other special friends, Cy and Jerry Mahnke, Kay and Dan Henney, Ken and Marv Blum, and LeRoy, Hazel and Betty Rahn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rouse, Jeanette H. Rouse

DEFOREST/ WYOCENA - Jeanette H. Rouse, age 91, departed this earth and was united with her Lord and Savior in their eternal celestial home on April 26, 2006. She was born on March 4, 1915, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Ignatius and Filippa (Baranco) Danca. Jeanette was united in marriage to Paul J. Rouse on Nov. 21, 1959, in Chicago, Ill. Prior to her marriage to Paul, she was a cost analyst in the manufacture of men's clothing in Chicago. She accompanied her husband to DeForest in 1959 where they maintained an optometric office until retirement in 1987. Jeanette enjoyed people, golf, bowling and the motor coach tours we took after retirement. She was an active member of St. Olaf Church in DeForest and the Council of Catholic Women and served on the funeral committee for many years. Jeanette helped formulate the St. Olaf elementary religious education program and was an energetic, devoted volunteer director during the early years of the parish. She also participated in the RSVP school child safety and friendly listener program and was an RSVP driver escort coordinator for the DeForest area, which she enjoyed very much, until she was forced to terminate when Alzheimer's disease made it impossible for her to continue. Survivors include her loving husband, Paul of DeForest; a brother, Paul (Mary Jean) Danca of Huntley, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Angeline Nicolette, Josephine Perry and Grace Foley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. OLAF'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 619 Jefferson Street, DeForest, on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. with Father Gary A. Wankerl officiating. Burial will follow at St. Olaf's Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, April 29, 2006, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. We wish to express our gratitude to all our friends and neighbors who helped during Jeanette's home care days. A very special "Thank You" to our Columbia Health Care Center family for the excellent and loving care she received during her five and a half years as a resident. Thorpe, Catherine

SUN PRAIRIE - Catherine Thorpe, age 91, died on Monday, April 24, 2006, in a local care center. She was born on Feb. 21, 1915 in Galesville, the daughter of Gordon and Lila (Philpot) Gabel. Catherine was a lifelong member of Sun Prairie United Methodist Church. On Dec. 31, 1934, Catherine was united in marriage with Maxwell Thorpe, in Sun Prairie, Maxwell preceded Catherine in death on April 11, 2000. Survivors include a daughter, Kay (John) Kobussen of Elm Grove; a son, Craig (Diane) Thorpe of Sun Prairie; four grandchildren, Kip (Lianne) Kobussen of Sun Prairie, Katy (David) Karcher of Elm Grove, Audra Thorpe of Sun Prairie, and Justin (Tara) Thorpe of Madison; six great- grandchildren, Sara, Amy, Maxwell and Ian Karcher, and Jack and Lindsey Kobussen; and two nephews, Phil (Suzanne) Gabel of Galena and Wesley Gest of De Forest. A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Sun Prairie United Methodist Church. Adler, James J.

ROCHESTER, MINN./ RICHLAND CENTER - James J. Adler, age 76, of Rochester, Minn., and formerly of Richland Center, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in Rochester, Minn. He was born on March 9, 1930, in Madison, son of Raymond and Barbara (Stumpf) Adler. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from November 1948 to November 1949. He was married on Jan. 28, 1950, to the former JoAnne Conway. He worked at Koch Tractor in Richland Center for 26 years, buying and selling farm machinery. He then went to work at Hennessey Motors in Dodgeville from 1986 to 1996, where he started the weekly farm machinery auctions. Jim was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include his wife, JoAnne Adler of Rochester, Minn.; nine children, Julie Adler of Trego, Jeffrey (Dorothy) Adler of Mabton, Wash., Jennifer Jones of Rochester, Minn., John (Charlene) Adler of Lake Geneva, Joseph Adler of Camarillo, Calif., Joan Adler of Rochester, Minn., Jay Adler of Palm Springs, Calif., Jerome Adler of Trego, and Jerard Adler of Richland Center; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Louis (Sharon) Adler of Billings, Mont., Richard (Carol) Adler of Missoula, Mont., Thomas (Marilyn) Adler of Golden, Colo., and Kenneth (Phyllis) Adler of Whitefish, Mont.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Barbara Adler; two sons, Gerald and James Adler; a brother, Gilbert Adler; and a sister, Patricia Peer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Richland Center, at 11 a.m. Father Wayne Kidd will officiate with burial in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery, Ashton, at 2:15 p.m. where military graveside rites will be conducted.
