Marie Puechner

Marie Puechner, age 36 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin died Monday, June 7, 2004 at the St. Clare Hospital of Baraboo, Wisconsin from complications due to an accident.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.

Marie was born September 12, 1967 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Loos) Puechner. She grew up and attended schools in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and later attended the Waukesha College and earned an Associates Degree in computer science. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, porcelain dolls and was a computer whiz.

Marie is survived by her mother, Barbara Puechner of Lake Delton; a sister, Rita (Kieth) Luke of Watertown, Wisconsin and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

The family would appreciate memorials of remembrance to help defray funeral expenses.

Blanche Decorah

Blanche Decorah, age 77 of Reedsburg, Wisconsin died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Wisconsin Dells Health & Rehabilitation Center.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Felix Oehrlein celebrating. Burial will be at Spring Grove cemetery in Wisconsin Dells.

Blanche was born January 6, 1927 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin the daughter of Rusius and Anne (Honker) Decorah and she grew up in Wisconsin Dells.

Blanche is survived by her sisters, Angeline Decorah of Chicago, Illinois, Della Pyawasay of Reedsburg, Hazel Shegonee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Delia Maisells of Berlin, Wisconsin and Virginia Dixon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nephew, Frank Decorah of Kansas; numerous other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lorraine Hopinkah and Harriet Decorah and a brother, LaVernon Decorah.

Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton, Wisconsin on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:30 A.M.

Kenneth Leege

Kenneth H. Leege, age 61 of Bowling Green, Kentucky died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at Greenview Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin with Reverend Dennis Schueler officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Spring Grove cemetery in Wisconsin Dells with military rites provided by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells.

Ken was a cemetery counselor for Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Bowling Green and Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Franklin, Kentucky. He had also served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Ken is survived by 3 sons, James, Robert and Thomas.

Richard Jordan

Richard “Dick” Jordan, age 82 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. Following the traditional services Richard will be cremated. Military rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 9387 and the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 both of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Richard was born March 17, 1922 in Dixon, Illinois the son of Michael and Mary (Jeczyla) Jordan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War 2 in the Pacific Theater and the Philippines. In 1947 he married Grace Czehowski in Cicero, Illinois. Richard worked for over 27 years for General Motors in Broadview, Illinois and retired in 1984 and then moved to the Dells. Richard was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 9387 and the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 both of Wisconsin Dells, the Wisconsin Dells Senior Citizen Club and past member of the United Auto Workers. After retirement he worked at the Haunted Mansion in Wisconsin Dells and he loved hunting and fishing.

Richard is survived by his wife, Grace; son, Michael (Janelle) Jordan of Wisconsin Dells; daughter, Barbara (Casimir) Ostrowski of Baraboo; brothers, John (Sylvia) Zawita of South Chicago Heights, Illinois and Thomas (Barb) Zawitaj of Stickney, Illinois; grandson, Rick (Rebecca) Jordan of Baraboo and a great grandson, Richard, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dan and an infant and sisters, Alice, Helen, Eleanor, Lillian, Dolly and Rose.

Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 P.M. until the time of service at 4 P.M.

Deborah Dobyns

Deborah A. (nee Preissel) Dobyns, age 41 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin was called to heaven with her loving family by her side on Sunday, August 1, 2004 after a brief, yet courageous battle with ovarian small cell cancer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Steven Keller officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove cemetery in Wisconsin Dells.

Debbie was born August 19, 1962 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the daughter of Richard and Shirley (Parchem) Preissel. She was a lifelong resident of Wisconsin Dells and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1980. On March 27, 1982 she was blessed with the birth of her beloved son, Jason Allen Preissel. She married Rocky G. Dobyns on April 30, 1988 at the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells. She spent her early working years assisting her parents at the Black Hawk Motel where she developed the strong work ethic that she shared with her parents. Debbie and Rocky then became owners of the Otto’s Supper Club in the fall of 1988 and here Debbie enjoyed entertaining their customers and friends until the fall of 2003. Many of their customers over these years have become dear friends as well. Debbie’s genuine concern in life was the happiness of others. She frequently put others needs ahead of her own. Debbie’s family was the love of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all. Debbie enjoyed ladies night bowling league, boating, collecting Precious Moments and babysitting.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Rocky; son, Jason; father, Richard A. Preissel; brothers, Richard (Judy), Bill (Kathy) and Brad (Tena) Preissel; nieces, Casey, Annie and Melissa and a nephew, Noah. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley and grandparents, Peter and Anna Parchem, Alfred Preissel and Delphin and Betty Floberg.

Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton on Wednesday from 5 to 9 P.M. and on Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

The family would appreciate donations be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in lieu of flowers. The family would also like to thank the UW Comprehensive Cancer Center, Hospice and all the family and friends for their love and support.

Dorothy Sarrington

Dorothy Sarrington, age 85 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin died Monday, July 19, 2004 at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

According to Dorothy’s wishes there will be no services at this time.

Dorothy was born April 11, 1919 in Barre, Massachusetts the daughter of John and Eva (Williams) Cronin. In 1949 she married Robert Sarrington. In the 1940’s she had moved to the Dells area and worked as a waitress and telephone operator.

Dorothy is survived by a brother, John (Mary) Cronin of Sepulveda, California; a sister, Ruth Varnot of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; sister in law, Marjorie Hawkins of Baraboo; nieces, Cindy Rowe, JoAnne, Kathy and Lorraine, Barbara Varnot, Kimberly O’Donnell and Kerri Hanger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister in law, Naureen Schilling.

A special thanks for the care and attention given to Dorothy to Jan, Lucy, Sally and Marion.

Giselle Bredesen

Giselle Bredesen, age 73 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the St. Clare Hospital of Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Craig Wolfgram celebrating. Burial will be at Spring Grove cemetery in Wisconsin Dells.

Giselle was born January 9, 1931 in Krugsreueth, Czechoslovakia the daughter of Ernst and Else (Uhl) Wolfel. In 1954 she married Harold Bredesen in Landshut, Germany. He preceded her in death in 1992. Giselle was a giving and caring person exemplified by the way she lived. She contributed to Easter Seals and St. Vincent de Paul and donated time to the Wisconsin Dells Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had worked for many years. She also had an open home, being a foster mother for many other people especially foreign students, providing a place to live as well as something to eat.

Giselle is survived by a son, Ralph (Kathleen) Bredesen and daughter, Ingrid (Gary) Booth both of Wisconsin Dells; grandchildren, Erik, Stephanie and Christopher Bredesen, Kirsten Booth, and Mandy, Brandon and Ciamantha Erickson; a great grandchild, Devan Piwonski; a brother, Fred (Lisle) Wolfel of Mossberg, Germany and many other cousins.

Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 from 4 to 7 P.M. and on Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Nathan and Zachary Kempton

Nathan and Zachary Kempton, infant twin sons of Maurice and Bobbi Jo Kempton of rural Reedsburg, Wisconsin were stillborn on Monday, June 28, 2004 at Meriter Park Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. Burial will follow at the Butterfield cemetery located between Lake Delton and Reedsburg.

Nathan and Zachary will be missed dearly by their parents, Maurice and Bobbi Jo and a sister, Tiffany.

Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

David Ripley

David Ripley, age 57 of Oxford, Wisconsin died unexpectedly Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Divine Savior Hospital of Portage, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Reverend Carol Hermann officiating. According to his wishes David will be cremated and will be interred at Oxford Village cemetery.

David was born February 3, 1946 in Kenosha, Wisconsin the son of Albert and Bernice (Winkler) Ripley. In 1966 he married Linda Procknow and they had three children. David was a self employed carpenter and he operated R and R Construction from 1975 to 2000. Lately he was a building services instructor at the Columbia County Correctional Institute. He was a past Oxford Village Board Member; served on the board of the Westfield School District; member of the Oxford Lions Club and member of the Carpenters Union Local 314. David will fondly be remembered as a loving father; a friendly, jovial person with a smile for everyone and he was taken to soon.

David is survived by a son, David Mitchell (Sasha) Ripley of Oxford; daughters, Paula (Curt) Kodl of Madison, Wisconsin and Stacy (Paul) Kemnitzer of McFarland, Wisconsin; long time companion, Evelyn Jungenberg of Oxford, her 5 children and 9 grandchildren; sisters, Zona (Dennis) Head and Linda (Butch) Meyer both of Oxford and Joan (Pete) McAllister of Richland, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Allison and Lexy Kemnitzer and Alexandra Economy and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.

Robert McLean

Robert McLean, age 78 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at his residence of complications arising from kidney failure.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford, Wisconsin with grandson, Father Dean Russell and Reverend Carol Hermann co-officiating. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery in Brooks, Wisconsin . Military rites will be provided by the Neenah Valley Memorial Post 6003 of Oxford, Wisconsin .

Bob was born July 26, 1924 in Westfield, Wisconsin the eldest son of Charles and Ethel (Smith) McLean. While still attending Westfield High School he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in January 1942. He saw combat in the Pacific at Tinian, Saipan and Okinawa . He was honorably discharged in August 1945 and spent several years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1949. On February 6, 1954 Bob married Marlis C. McGowan in Portage, Wisconsin . “Mac” was stationed in Alaska, Baltimore, Munich and Washington, D.C. prior to his retirement in 1966. He closed his governmental career working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture until 1980. After residing in Denver for many years he had his “dream house” built in 1982 outside of Oxford . Bob was a member of the Star of Bethlehem chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Portage ; a lifetime member of Neenah Valley Memorial Post 6003 of Oxford, Wisconsin ; Fort Winnebago Lodge 33 in Portage and a lifetime member of the Grand Marsh Lions Club.

Bob is survived by his loving and caring wife, Marlis; stepsons, Dean (Bonnie) Russell of Rockford, Illinois and Keith (Terry) Russell of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; stepdaughters, Carol Simonson of Endeavor, Wisconsin and Donna (Patrick) Tucker of Portage; a brother, Harold McLean of Sandia, Texas and a sister, Patricia McLean of Dane, Wisconsin. Bob can proudly list eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren on his honor roll. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles and a son-in-law, Jerold Simonson.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 7 P.M. and on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 10:30 A.M.

Margaret Woods

Margaret Woods, age 88 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Friday, March 28, 2003 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin.

According to her wishes Margaret was cremated and no services were to be held.

Margaret was born February 13, 1915 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin the daughter of Hale and Laura (Kinnear) Stow. She had married Larry Woods and he preceded her in death.

Margaret is survived by her dear friends, Gordon and Bonny Ducas of Oxford and a niece, Carolyn Oakes of Minnesota.
