Nellie Davidson

Nellie Davidson, age 91 of rural Montello, Wisconsin died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford, Wisconsin with Reverend Carol Hermann officiating. Burial will be at the Roselawn cemetery in Monona, Wisconsin.

Nellie was born June 11, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Arthur and Effie (Ricks) Bergh. She graduated as valedictorian from Madison East High School in 1930. In December of 1933 she married Vearl Davidson in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death in April of 2000. For many years Nellie worked for the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an administrative assistant and retired as registrar for the UW Law School in 1973. After retirement she stayed busy and enjoyed bingo, playing cards and being with family and friends. She had been a member of the Briggsville Senior Citizens.

Nellie is survived by a son, John W. (Donna) Davidson of Poynette, Wisconsin; daughters, Ruth Saaf-Falter of Packwaukee, Wisconsin and Linda (David) Bredeson of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Arthur Bergh, Jr. of Madison and a nephew, David (Sandra) Johnson of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Irene Johnson and a great grandson, Daniel Davidson.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Kathryn "Kitty" Tessman

Kathryn “Kitty” Tessman, age 82 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 with her family by her side at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Endeavor United Church of Christ in Endeavor, Wisconsin with Pastor Carolyn Kennedy celebrating. Burial will be at the Hill Crest cemetery in Endeavor immediately following.

Kathryn was born March 19, 1922 in Endeavor, Wisconsin the daughter of Byron and Jesse (Coon) Sweney and grew up and graduated from the Endeavor Academy. In September of 1975 she married William Tessman in Endeavor. Kathryn had been the village president and village treasurer of Endeavor; the Jackson Township treasurer; was a lifetime member of the Neenah Valley Memorial V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 6003 of Oxford; a member of the church Women’s Guild; as a young lady was a member of the Neenah Valley Saddle Club where she showed and rode horses winning many ribbons and trophies; she loved cats and dogs and enjoyed playing cards, gambling and bowling.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, William; a son, Loring (Lois) McDonald of Portage; daughters, Vicki Mills of West Bend, Wisconsin, Laura (James) Bonifas and Debra (Larry) Baker both of Portage; stepsons, Terry (Linda) Tessman of Montello, Wisconsin, Ricky (Karen) Tessman of Waukesha, Wisconsin, James (Cindy) Tessman of Janesville, Wisconsin and Robert Tessman of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; stepdaughters, Lee Ann (Doug) Wathen of Hixton, Wisconsin and Trish (Sam) McNulty of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Craig (Aleatha) Bonifas, Jeremy (Jennifer) Bonifas, Carl Bonifas, Todd (Michelle) Mills, Timothy Mills, Becki Baker, Lowell McDonald, Emily Tessman, Kari (Derrick) Olson, Jay Tessman, Travis Tessman, Alicia Tessman, Stephanie Wathen, Parker Wathen, Ryan McNulty, Danielle McNulty, Jared McNulty, Donovan Tessman and Joseph Tessman; and great grandchildren, Dillan, Zachary, Austin and Katelyn Mills, Jalen Bonifas, Tahlia Hardiman and Noah and Hannah Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John, Frank “LeRoy”, Harold and Carl Sweney.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Monday from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.

Donald Udelhofen

Donald Udelhofen, age 75 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Monday, June 21, 2004 at the University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Pastor Brian Rohde celebrating. Military rites will be provided by the Neenah Valley Memorial Post 6003 of Oxford, Wisconsin.

Donald was born November 30, 1928 in Norwood Park, Illinois the son of Henry and Vera (Williams) Udelhofen. In 1952 he was inducted into the U.S. Army, earned the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1954. In May of 1955 he married Sue Nichols in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Donald owned and operated D & S Air Freight and helped start a neighborhood crime watch program while in Illinois. Later he moved to Oxford where he owned the Pine Tree Bar for 8 years, served on the Oxford Village board for 17 years and currently was on the Royal Bank Board of Directors and was working for Adesa Auto Auction. He was also a member of the Oxford Lions Club, an avid Bear and Cubs fan, and a devoted father and husband.

Donald is survived by his wfe, Sue; sons, Larry (Lori) and Tom (Pam) both of Baraboo, Wisconsin; a brother, Jim (Theresa) of Chicago; sisters, Arlene Edwards of Irvine, California and Geraldine (Glen) Siepp of Westfield, Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother in law, Jack Edwards and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Terry Stoneman

Terry Stoneman, age 49 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Friday, June 11, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. at the Oxford funeral home in Oxford with Father Daniel Kelly celebrating. Cremation will follow.

Terry was born May 13, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Gary and Geraldine (Reynolds) Stoneman. Terry served his country by being a soldier in the U.S. Army. Terry entered into holy matrimony with Jackie Ballweg on April 22, 1989 in Madison. Terry has also worked with his father at Stoneman Construction for many years.

Terry is survived by his wife; Jackie, his son; Cory Stoneman, his parents, his brother; Larry (Barb) Stoneman of West Palm Beach, Florida, his step-brother; Mike Ryan of Wisconsin Dells, Sisters; Sandy (Jim) Newland of Waubeka, Wisconsin, Elizabeth of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and Jane of San Diego, California. Terry was preceded in death by his son; Josh Ballweg, and his grandparents.

Visitation will be held at Oxford Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M.

Military honors will be performed by the Neenah Valley VFW Post 6003 and Active Army members from Fort McCoy immediately following funeral services.

Carol Wohlfert

Carol “Ma” Jean Wohlfert, age 69 of Beloit, Wisconsin died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the City of Hope Cancer Research Hospital in Duarte California on Wednesday, June 2, 2004.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2004 at 12:00 Noon at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford, Wisconsin with Pastor Julie Waterdu celebrating. Burial will be at the Oxford Village cemetery.

Carol was born September 20, 1934 in Oxford the second daughter of Leslie and Myrtle (Manteufel) Stalker. She was united in marriage to Arthur “Perk” Wohlfert in February of 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa. To this union were born 2 sons, Daniel (Melody) and Randall both of Beloit and 2 daughters, Debra Oldfield of Beloit and Monica (Sass) Locke of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin.

Carol was a great mother, good friend and always had a kind word to say about everyone. She worked for many years at Dick’s Bait and Tackle Shop in Beloit before buying Carol’s Corner Restaurant, which she operated for 21 years before retiring.

Carol leaves to mourn her 2 sons; 2 daughters; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. Also 5 brothers, Arthur (Wilma) Stalker of Okeechobee, Florida, Steven (Karen) Stalker of Summerfield, North Carolina, Richard (Ginger) Stalker of Janesville, Wisconsin, Leonard (Mary) Stalker and Keith (Bonnie) Stalker both of Milton, Wisconsin; and a sister, Marilyn Vinendahl of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; a sister, Lenore James and her husband, Arthur “Perk” in January 2004. Also aunts, Della (Charles) Hill, Dorothy (Harry) Nemitz, Erna (Gerald) Rice, Aimee (Robert) Edmondson, and uncles, Roy (Anne) Manteufel, Norman (Helen) Manteufel, Lloyd (Nadine) Manteufel and Herbert (Hazel) Fabert.

Carol was truly a “people” person and will be sadly be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Her greatest joy was her family.

Visitation will be held at the Murphy Daley Wisch Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wisconsin on Sunday, June 6, 2004 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. and on Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Oxford Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 12:00 Noon.

Carlone Filiatrault

Carlone Filiatrault, age 28 of rural Montello, Wisconsin left this world to meet her Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2004 after being involved in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grace Bible Church in Portage, Wisconsin with Reverend Steven Corbett officiating. Burial will be at the Oxford Village cemetery in Oxford, Wisconsin.

Carlone was born December 18, 1975 in Anaheim, California the daughter of James and Donna (Vanderbilt) Filiatrault. She grew up in Portage and attended schools there, graduating in 1994. She moved to Madison where she lived for 3 years and worked for Dean Health Insurance. She attended the Door Creek Community Church and enjoyed bible study. She was an excellent student, working full time and attending school for medical transcription on a part time basis. Carlone had a great capacity for love and giving and she was a special aunt.

Carlone is survived by her parents, James and Donna Filiatrault of Montello; brothers, Timothy (Barbara) Filiatrault of St. Paul, Minnesota and Daniel Robert Filiatrault of Portage; nephews, Luke, Micah and Simon; maternal grandparents, Duane and Persis Vanderbilt of Oxford; paternal grandfather, Robert Filiatrault of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Myrtle Filiatrault.

Visitation will be held at the Grace Bible Church in Portage on Friday, June 4, 2004 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.

William Goza

William Goza, age 84 formerly of St. Louis, Missouri died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Madison, Wisconsin.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at Rosemont Park cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.

William was born September 2, 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of William and Helen (Kraleman) Goza. In 1941 he enlisted in the U.S. Army which took him overseas to the Philippines. He was awarded 4 bronze stars and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in August of 1945. He later married Adeane Levy and she preceded him in death in November of 1998. William worked for many years for Sealy Matresses in Chicago.

William is survived by a brother, Robert (Eugenia) Goza of Oxford, Wisconsin and sisters, Carol (Thomas) Moran of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Lillian Majchazak of St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Franklin and sisters, Helen, Dorothy and Shirley.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 from 4 to 8 P.M.

Robert Redenius

Robert Redenius, age 73 of Packwaukee, Wisconsin died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at his home.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2004 at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford, Wisconsin from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. and on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the Hansen Funeral Home, 211 South Main Street, Janesville, Wisconsin from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.

Robert was born February 21, 1931 in Janesville, Wisconsin the son of Carl and Marie (Febrantz) Redenius. Robert retired from being an electrician in 1980, soon after he moved to Packwaukee and ran the Starlight Lodge from 1981 until he retired in 1998.

Robert is survived by a special friend; Donna Codman of Packwaukee; sons, Daniel (Sabrina) of Guston, Texas, William of Lakeland, Florida, and Robert (Lori) of Janesville, Wisconsin; daughters; Nancy Dahle of Janesville, Peggy Redenius of Janesville, Debra Reid of Janesville, and Christine Baker of Hempstead, Texas; a brother, Carl Redenius, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lucille Drenning and Dorothy Kath.

Beverly Mire

Beverly Mire, age 68 of Portage, Wisconsin died Thursday, May 20, 2004 in the comfort of her own home with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Pastor Julie Waterdu celebrating. Burial will be at the Oxford Village cemetery.

Beverly was born March 31, 1936 in Winemac, Indiana the daughter of Michael and Florence (Vanaman) Kollaszar. In December of 1953 she married Emell Mire at the United Presbyterian Church in Buffalo Township of Marquette County, Wisconsin. She had been most recently employed by HoChunk Casino. Beverly loved her family, her job and spring flowers. She will lovingly be remembered for teaching her family the meaning of courage, dignity and perseverance and she showed others what true heroes are about.

Beverly is survived by her son, Richard Mire of Oxford; daughters, Peggy (Mark) Russell of Portage and Jeanine (Rick) Boos of Madison, Wisconsin; brothers, Michael (Janice) Kollaszar of Franklin, Wisconsin, David (Mary) Kollaszar of Missouri, Phillip (Yvonne) Kollaszar of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Kenneth (Julie) Kollaszar of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a sister, Evelyn (Ronald) Blada of Montello, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Matthew Russell and Christopher (Angela) Mire; great grandchildren, Casey J. and Cheyenne M. Mire; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a good friend, Stan Willis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jim, Robert and Lawrence and a sister, Elizabeth Willkomm.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Walter Jobe

Walter Jobe, age 85 of Endeavor, Wisconsin died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford, Wisconsin with Vicar Brian Rohde celebrating. Burial will be at Spring Grove cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Military rites will be provided by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells.

Walter was born June 6, 1918 in New Richland County, Minnesota the son of Arno and Clara (Neumann) Jobe. He married Vernelia Preble in Portsmouth, Virginia in June of 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a crewman aboard the U.S.S. Honolulu. He was a farmer for many years raising hogs and growing crops. Walter was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and served as an elder and held other board positions. He was a good, hardworking and honest man and he was devoted to his family as a loving, gentle and patient father.

Walter will be missed dearly by his wife, Vernelia; sons, Austin (Mary) of Cumberland, Wisconsin, Timothy (MaryAnn) of Lebanon, Indiana, Walter R. (Linda) of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, Robert (Wendy) of Baraboo, Wisconsin and Patrick M. of Endeavor; daughters, Marlene Kimball of Wisconsin Dells, Mary Lou (Sam) Rizzotte of Springfield, Ohio, Margaret (Jerry) Nitz of Markesan, Wisconsin, Susan (Jim Kline) Martens of Adams, Wisconsin and Kathleen (Michael) Klawitter of Oxford; brothers, Harvey (Wally) of Waseca, Minnesota, Norris (Lorraine) of Morristown, Minnesota and Lester (Margie) of Rochester, Minnesota; sisters, Nora Schoenfeld of Janesville, Minnesota and Shirley (Marvin) Schwardt of Alexandria, Minnesota; 37 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence and sisters, Viola Jobe and Edna Mork.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Monday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.

Alma Reid

Alma Reid, age 81 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin.

Private family services will be held.

Alma was born November 4, 1922 in Adams, Wisconsin the daughter of Herbert and Josephine (Johnson) Thrasher. In May of 1940 she married Alden Reid in Oxford. Alma had worked for the family operated Reid Creamery of Oxford, later moved to Seattle, Washington, then to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the 1950’s and returned to Oxford in 1961 where she has lived since.

Alma is survived by a daughter, Roxanne (Dennis) Larson of Oxford; brothers, Norman (Esther) Thrasher of Adams and James Thrasher of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Erik Larson and Trudy (Jason) Noska and great grandchildren, Jacob Larson, Kailey Bagley and Allison Noska. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronald; brother, Herbert, Clarence, Curtis, Calvin and two infant brothers and a sister, Jeanette Lecy.
