Terri Bilberry

Terri Bilberry, age 52 of Briggsville, Wisconsn died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 6:00 P.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford, Wisconsin with Pastor Julie Waterdu celebrating.

Terri was born August 11, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Bruno and Diane (Romanousky) Slowik. In 1991 she married Dwain Bilberry in Las Vegas, Nevada. For many years Terri worked at M&I Banks in Montello and Ripon and most recently as a loan officer. Terri enjoyed gardening, listening to music, camping, traveling and just being outdoors.

Terri is survived by her husband, Dwain; mother, Diane Slowik of Briggsville; stepsons, Jeffrey (Stacy) Bilberry of Briggsville and Michael (Janet) Bilberry of Montello, Wisconsin; stepdaughter, Tracy (Adam) Stowell of Montello; sisters, Tammy (Jerry) Osborn of Portage, Wisconsin and Ginger (Lonnie) Wise of Independence, Missouri and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 6 P.M.

Roy Cairns

Roy Cairns, age 87 of Westfield, Wisconsin died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at the Montello Care Center in Montello, Wisconsin with his family by his side.

Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2005 at 7:30 P.M. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford with Reverend Brian Rohde celebrating. Graveside services for interment of Roy’s cremains will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Oxford Village cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 P.M. until the time of service at 7:30 P.M.

Roy was born November 23, 1917 in Webster City, Iowa the son of William and Sarah (Noble) Cairns. He grew up farming in Minnesota and at the age of 26 he moved to the Oxford area where he continued farming until he retired in 1971, and then stayed busy driving truck. Horses were also a big part of Roy’s life; breaking and training them. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he married Ethel Anderson in April of 1963. Roy also enjoyed dancing.

Roy is survived by his wife, Ethel; stepson, Kenny (Donna) Tracy of North Bend, Oregon; stepdaughters, Joeldine Burris of Adams, Wisconsin and Jill Hockerman of Westfield, Wisconsin; a sister, Viola Carlson of Minnesota; stepsisters, LaVerne Defenbaugh of Pontiac, Illinois and Merlene Martin of Streeter, Illinois; grandchildren, Eric Kocovsky, Jason (Nicole) Kocovsky, Kelly (Jeff) Holcomb, Amy (Michael) Norelius and Carrie Hockerman; and a great grandchild, Quintin Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim; sister, Sarah; a stepbrother and stepsister, Beulah.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the church.

Edith Lloyd

Edith Lloyd, age 80 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at her residence.

Graveside memorial funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. at the Oxford Village cemetery with Rev. Robert Bruinooge & Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Bruinooge celebrating along with the Neenah Valley Memorial Post 6003 Auxiliary of Oxford.

Edith was born March 26, 1925 in Oxford, Wisconsin the daughter of William and Mabel (Reinhardt) MacKenzie. In April of 1943 she married Lester Lloyd in Oxford.

Edith is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou (Delmar) Byers of Oxford; step daughter, Marjorie Kelsey of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin; stepsons, Myron (Verna) Lloyd of Poynette, Wisconsin and Merlin (Mary) Lloyd of Jonestown, Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, George and William MacKenzie and sisters, Marion McMillen and Janet MacKenzie.

Eva Benzing

Eva Benzing, age 79 of Oxford, Wisconsin died peacefully and unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at her residence.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 12:00 Noon at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Brooks, Wisconsin with Father Daniel Kelly celebrating. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery at the church.

Eva was born October 17, 1925 in Sheldon, Wisconsin the daughter of John and Rose (Pinteric) Skovoth. In April of 1948 she married Charles Benzing in Thiensville, Wisconsin. They lived for the next 50 years in Mequon, Wisconsin and Eva as a homemaker raised her family. In 1994 following retirement they moved to their lakefront home on Parker Lake near Oxford. Eva had been a member of the Homemakers Club; enjoyed bowling and playing bridge; loved to cook, bake and garden. She had been chosen as the Volunteer of the Decade at the Mequon Public Library.

Eva is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Jeanette (Bill) Cassidy of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Christine (Rich) Tonelli of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Rosalie Benzing of Greendale, Wisconsin and Terese (Scott) Stetter of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; brother, Michael (Valerie) Skovoth of Incline Village, Nevada; and grandchildren, Danielle, Justin, Charles, Jonathan, Jason and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose Meyer and brother, John Skovoth, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the St. Ann Catholic Church on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 12 Noon.

Thelma Labrenz

Thelma Labrenz, age 80 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Bible Church in Oxford with Reverend Donald Wedel celebrating. Burial will be at the Oxford Village cemetery.

Thelma was born March 20, 1925 in Spring Green, Wisconsin the daughter of P.J. and Stella (Peart) Thompson. She attended the Madison Business College and Northwestern Bible College. In June of 1949 she married Elwin Labrenz in Arena, Wisconsin. She was a homemaker for many years, raising 3 daughters. Thelma was very involved with her church and was a prayer chain coordinator, vacation bible school teacher and Sunday school teacher.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Elwin; daughters, Judith (David) Maxwell and Lucinda (Mike) LaVoie both of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Arlene (Stanley) Larson of Oxford; brothers, Vincent (June) Thompson of Marshfield, Wisconsin and David (Judy) Thompson of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; a sister, Rosemary Pope of Poynette, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Heidi (Dean) Morrell, John Maxwell, Nathan (Pam) Maxwell and Stephanie Larson and great grandchildren, Gregory and Esther Morrell and Alexander Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Bible Church on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Montello Care Center for the 2 ½ years that they cared for Thelma and to Northland Home Health for their assistance these last 10 months.

Colin McIntyre

Colin McIntyre, age 1 Month and 25 days, beloved son of Derek and Sarah (Cook) McIntyre of Oxford, Wisconsin died Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Divine Savior Hospital of Portage, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Reverend Donald Wedel officiating. Burial was at the Eastside cemetery in Westfield, Wisconsin.

Colin was born April 23, 2005 in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

He was survived by his parents; a sister, Dakota Marie Marlow; paternal grandparents, Robert and Judith McIntyre of Merrill, Wisconsin; maternal grandparents, Charles and Cindy Cook of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin; maternal great grandmother, Vivian Kann of Sun City Center, Florida; Maternal great grandmother Dorothy Cook of Kenosha, Wisconsin and many other relatives.

Visitation was held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Kenneth Schehr

Kenneth Schehr, age 84 of Oxford, Wisconsin died peacefully Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Wm.S.Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services with military rites will be held Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Pastor Barbara Bolz officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.

Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M.

Kenneth was born May 23, 1923 in Champlin, Minnesota the son of Jake and Hannah (Klabunde) Schehr. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945 and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Lillian Weishoff in Portage, Wisconsin. Ken worked as a machine operator on the Milwaukee Railroad for many years.

Ken is survived by daughters, Barbara Schehr of Wisconsin Rapids, Patricia (Albert) Gavinski of Portage, Wisconsin and daughter in law, Gloria Schehr of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, James; sisters, Sylvia Jacobson and Virginia Kuhn; brothers, Eugene, Floyd and Clifford; and 2 great grandchildren, Michael Thome and Brittany Baek.

Gerald Rynearson

Gerald S. Rynearson, age 76 of Huntley, Illinois and of rural Oxford, Wisconsin at the Bulldog Ranch died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Brooks, Wisconsin with Father Daniel Kelly celebrating. Burial will be at the Calvary cemetery in Brooks. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Gerald was born June 28, 1930 in Hastings, Nebraska to Lauretta Rynearson Read Schmidt and he was raised by his grandparents, Anna and Herbert Rynearson. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the China Marines and on Admiral’s Staff until he was sent to fight in the Korean Conflict where he was awarded the Purple Heart with one star. After an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps at Great Lakes, Illinois in 1951 he remained in the Chicago area where he worked, built and ran seven executive search firms until his retirement in 1998.

In 1952 he married Lorraine Weber, also of Hastings, Nebraska, and their daughter, Rene’ was born in 1956.

Gerald enjoyed flying, fishing, boating, golfing and taking care of his bulldogs. For the last 30 years his major enjoyment has been improving and caring for his beloved Bulldog Ranch.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Lorraine; daughter, Rene’ (Kevyn) Miller of Thorntown, Indiana; granddaughters, Jessica and Kasey Miller; sister, Eileen (Vern) Eastman of Giltner, Nebraska; brother, Laurence Read of Walnut Creek, California; and many nieces and nephews as well as countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Have a Heart Pet Shelter of Oxford or the Budda Box Cancer Fund.

Evelyn Michaels

Evelyn Michaels, age 81 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held at Oxford Funeral Home on Friday from 5 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M.

Evelyn was born September 30, 1925 in Oak Park, Illinois the daughter of Alfonso and Ella (Barschow) Meisner. In June of 1947 she married Allan Michaels in Chicago and lived and worked there until retiring from Western Electric to the Oxford area 29 years ago. Evelyn stayed busy with sewing, outdoor projects and gardening and she had an artistic talent for painting. She also grew to be very fond of cats.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Allan and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Arlene Luger

Arlene Luger, age 77 of Oxford, Wisconsin died peacefully Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Beverly Living Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford with Reverend Brian Rohde officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services and interment will be in the Briggsville Village cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.

Arlene was born April 20, 1930 in Briggsville, Wisconsin the daughter of Edward and Emma (Labrenz) Gerbitz. In June of 1949 she married Faye Luger in Madison, Wisconsin. Arlene led a full life that consisted of being a farm wife and raising a family. She enjoyed gardening and canning the produce; sewing and crocheting items such as Christmas ornaments and blankets; being a member of the Marquette County Homemakers Club and Oxford Record Makers 4H Club with her children; bowling, playing cards and bingo; deer and turkey hunting; and traveling overseas with her husband to Europe, South America, Africa, Central America, Australia, China, Japan, Hong Kong and throughout the United States and Canada.

Arlene will be missed dearly by her husband, Faye; sons, David (Shirley Huber) Luger of Endeavor, Wisconsin and Robert Luger of Oxford; daughters, Diane Phillips of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin and Barbara (Robert) Furlano of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; brothers, Alfred (Lorena) Gerbitz of Verona, Wisconsin, Raymond (Phyllis) Gerbits of Endeavor and Gordon “Skip” (Dolores) Gerbitz of Briggsville; sister, Lucille (Darrell) Trapp of Delavan, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willard and sisters, Evelyn Rabado and Eleanor who passed at the age of 10.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church.

Robert McIntyre

Robert McIntyre, age 66 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Monday, May 21, 2007 at his residence.

Memorial funeral services will be held at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Oxford Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M.

Robert was born August 4, 1940 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the son of Joseph and Iva (Cobbledick) McIntyre.

Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judith (nee, Stellick); son, Derek; daughter, Crystal (Ken) Sampson; grandson, Kyle Sampson; sisters, Mary (Wayne) Pertzborn and Karen Young; many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Sean and grandson, Colin McIntyre.

John Rodger

John Rodger, age 85 of Oxford, Wisconsin died Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Montello, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Reverend Steven Keller celebrating. Burial with military rites will be at Oxford Village cemetery in Oxford.

Visitation will be held at Oxford Funeral Home on Sunday July 15, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.

John was born November 20, 1921 in Jackson Township, Adams County Wisconsin the son of John and Stella (Foat) Rodger. He enlisted in the army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Frances Wilson in 1953. He spent most of his life as a farmer and a truck driver and was a charter member of the Neenah Valley Memorial V.F.W. Post of Oxford, Wisconsin post #6003.

He is survived by his daughter, Aneta Rodger (Jake Huber) of Oxford; a brother, Lester (Lorraine) Rodger of Oxford; sisters, Marjorie (Don) Lester of Occonomowoc, Wisconsin, Margaret (Don) McMillie of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and Wilma Hilliard of Briggsville, Wisconsin; his grand-children Kevin of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, John of Madison, Wisconsin, Samantha of Oxford, Wisconsin and Aaron Jr. of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin and son-in-law Aaron cook of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Frances; brothers, Art, Lyle, Raymond, Clayton (Squeak), Darwin, Hollis and Arnold; sister Illa and an infant sister Beatrice.
