Wolfrum, Peter M. "Pete"

WEST ALLIS - Peter M. "Pete" Wolfrum found peace on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the age of 61 years. Pete was preceded in death his parents, Henry and Clara Wolfrum. He is survived by his fiancee, Christine Kegel; his children, Peter (Norma), Megan and Morgan; his grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Nick, Tyler and Levi; his sister, Marlene (Jack) Hussey; along with other nieces and friends. Pete was a longtime dedicated employee at Gordie Boucher Lincoln Mercury in West Allis. He enjoyed playing the organ, his work and golfing. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 7626 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m.

Zielinski, Judy E. (Ashley)

LYNDON STATION - Judy E. Zielinski (Ashley), age 62, of Lyndon Station, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 7, 1945, in Venice, Fla., the daughter of William and Margaret (Browne) Ashley. Judy graduated from Madison East High School in 1963 and the Milwaukee Accredited Beauty College. On April 24, 1965, Judy was united in marriage to Bruce M. Zielinski. She worked at Central Colony for several years caring for children in need of love and care. Judy then worked as a proofreader for various printing firms in Madison prior to her retirement. Her job was one of her greatest passions and she truly enjoyed the friends and colleagues that she made along the way. She and her husband moved north from Madison and enjoyed retirement with nature at their front door. Her backyard pond was her place of peace and enjoyment. Judy loved and enjoyed cooking, flowers, nature, Hayward, anything that had fur on it, and spending time with her family and friends. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; parents, William and Margaret Ashley of Madison; two sons, Scott (Sarah) of Roseville, Minn., and Matthew (Kim) of Platteville; grandchildren, Dayton and William; sisters, Katherine Christenson of Stoughton, and Kathleen Scott of Madison; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen (Bruce) Saniter of Lyndon Station; brother-in-law, James (Mary Jane) Zielinski of Somerset, N.J.; several nieces and nephews; and a countless number of true friends. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 730 Cedar St., in Wisconsin Dells, with the Rev. Steven Keller officiating. Visitation will be held at the UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials or gifts be made in Judy's name to the Dane County Humane Society in Madison. Judy's family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their assistance and support. The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lake Delton, assisted the family with arrangements.

Thomas A. "Tom" Handell

BLACK EARTH - Thomas A. "Tom" Handell, age 77 of Black Earth, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2002 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 26, 1924 in Mazomanie, WI to Adolph & Elsie (Weinschenk) Handell. He was married to the former Esther K. Power May 15, 1948 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Madison, WI. Growing up in Madison, WI, he attended St. Bernard's Grade School and Madison East High School, leaving in the middle of his senior year to join the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He served in the 4th. Division, 23rd. Regiment, Second Battalion. He served from January 18, 1943 until November 26, 1945, when he received his honorable discharge as a Corporal. He was proud to have served at a supply base in Kodiak, Alaska and later in the North Pacific. He was an avid trout fisherman throughout his lifetime and was active for over 20 years in softball, baseball, basketball, horse racing and dog racing. He was offered a tryout with the Philadelphia Phillis baseball team in 1946. He worked at several area businesses, including Madison KIPP for 16 years. He and his family moved to Black Earth from Madison in 1967. He worked as a custodian for the Wisconsin Heights School District for 18 years until his retirement. He loved to have good times with his family and friends, coaching little league baseball for his son's team in Black Earth, and later watching his grandchildren in their sports activities. He will be remembered as "Moe" by friends from his youth, nicknamed this because of his love for the "Three Stooges" films.

He will be deeply missed by his wife: Esther of 54 years, his daughter: Mary (Kevin) Dresen of Mazomanie, his son: Tim (Yvonne) Handell of Monona, 4 grandchildren: Tyler, Cally and Keith Dresen and Ian Handell, her sister: Delores (Charles) Powers and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Eugene & William Handell and his sister: Arlene King.

He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Mazomanie, and of the Black Earth American Legion Post.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, July 31. 2002 at St. Barnabas's Catholic Church in Mazomanie, WI with Fr. Kevin Dooley officiating. Burial will be at the Church cemetery in Mazomanie with full military honors accorded by the Black Earth American Legion Post. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the ELLESTAD BLACK EARTH FUNERAL HOME, 1337 Mills Street where a rosary service will be at 8:00 PM.

Robert J. Harper

Mt. Horeb, WI - Robert J. Harper died on August 9, 2002 at Meriter Health Center in Madison,
WI. He was born April 26, 1904 in Evanston, Illinois to Malcolm C. & Helena
(Dewey) Harper.

Mr. Harper is survived by his son: David H. Harper of Middleton,
two nieces: Betty Jean Harper of Skokie, Illinois

Helen Harper White of Glenbeulah
and many great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral observances will be private, with burial at Oak Ridge cemetery in
Sandwich, Illinois.

Loretta C. Hefty

Mt. Horeb - Loretta C. Hefty, age 93 of Mt. Horeb, WI died on Monday, August 26, 2002 at Ingleside Nursing Home. The former Loretta Christina Haag was born August 20, 1909 in Perry Township, WI to Lawrence & Christina (Bowar) Haag. She married Herman W. Hefty on August 27, 1930 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. They farmed in Perry Township and moved to Mt. Horeb in 1962. Herman died November 15, 1989. She loved flowers and her garden. She did a lot of sewing and crafts.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb, of its Council of Catholic Women and decorated the altar at St. Ignatius Church with flowers from her garden.
Loretta is survived by her 9 children:

Wilbert (Charlotte) Hefty of Mt. Horeb,

Adella (Andy) Buechner of Cross Plains,

Francis (Barb) Hefty of Jonesville, North Carolina

Angie (Kendall) Kiley of Madison,

Marilyn (Richard) Karn of Necedah,

Lawrence (Pat) Hefty of Mt. Horeb,

Rita (Warren) Sailing of Mt. Horeb,

Dianne (Joe) Donlin of Belleville,

Ken (Diane) Hefty of Mt. Horeb,
31 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren,
3 sisters-in-law: Rose Haag of South Dakota,

Catherine Miller of East Bristol

Van Haag of Plain and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 11 brothers and sisters: Albert, William, Gregor, Joe, Frank, Ray, Lawrence, Rosena, Bertha, Josephine and Marcella.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 30, 2002 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb, WI with Fr. Paul Arinze officiating. Burial will be at the Calvary cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church where a scripture service will be at 33:30 PM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial and donations be given to St. Ignatius and Holy Redeemer Churches. The Hefty family would like the thank the staff of Ingleside Nursing Home for their care and support. The Ellestad Funeral Home in Mt. Horeb is serving the family.

Amy A. Heins

Darlington - Amy A. Heins, age 81 of Darlington, WI died on Monday, August 26, 2002 at
LaFayette County Manor in Darlington. The former Amy A. McKillip was born
September 10, 1920 in Calamine, WI to James & Lewella (Downey) McKillip.
She married Henry A. Heins February 6, 1945.

Amy was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and of its
Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by her husband: Henry,

a son: Gerald (Beth) Heins of Dubuque, Iowa,

a daughter: Shirley (Leonard) Coombs of Ann Harbor, Michigan

5 grandchildren,
and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son: Robert Heins, her
2 brothers: Francis, Joseph McKillip and 3 sisters: Lillian Staver, Anne Bartels and Florence Berg.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 AM on Friday, August 30, 2002 at
Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, WI with Fr. Randy Budnar
officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet St., Darlington, WI.

Loretta M. Statz

Loretta M. Statz, age 66, of Pine Bluff, WI died on Thursday, June 06, 2002 at Meriter Park Hospital in Madison.

She was born August 19, 1935 in Belleville, WI to Lawrence and Stella (Sutter) Keller. She married Duwayne "Butch" Statz on May 29, 1954 in Mt. Horeb, WI. She did bookkeeping for the family business. She loved flowers, birds, nature and her collection of sheep figurines. She was a member of St. Mary's of Pine Bluff Catholic Church, of its Council of Catholic Women, of which she was past president, and a member of the Pine Bluff Historical Society. She was involved in civic and community activities.

She is survived by her husband: Duwayne "Butch" Her children: David (Joann) Statz of Cross Plains, Elizabeth "Lisa" (Jeff) Dye of Madison, Mark Statz of Mt. Horeb, and Jeanne (Bryan) Poast of Black Earth' 3 Grandchildren: Kasey Poast, Andrew and Jeremy Statz; Her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes. Four brothers: Wallace (Shirley) Keller of Mt. Horeb, Raymond Keller of Mt. Horeb, James Keller of Arizona, and Larry "Pete" (Linda) Keller of Mt. Horeb; three sisters: Betty (Duwayne) Dougherty of Ridgeway, Rosemary (Joe) Vargas of Sun Prairie, and Mary (Rollie) Buechner of Mt. Horeb; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law: Delores and Harold Laufenberg and a brother: Paul Keller.

Mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2002 at St. Mary's of Pine Bluff Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery in Mt. Horeb. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2002 at St. Mary's of Pine Bluff Church. The Ellestad Funeral Home, Mt. Horeb, is serving the family. Loretta touched the lives of so many people and she will be sadly missed by family and friends.
