Melba (Arneson) Means
Mt. Horeb/Madison - Melba (Arneson) Means, 96, passed away on Monday September 9, 2002, at UW
Hospital in Madison.
She was born in Blue Mounds Township in WI, on March 16, 1906, the daughter
of Henry and Mary (Helmenstine) Arneson.
Mrs. Means attended Whitewater State Teachers College and graduated from
Milwaukee State Teachers College in 1926. She taught in the Beloit Wis.
School System. She married
Leo Means on June 20, 1928. Mrs. Means retired
after 20 years from the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
in 1971. She became a manager at the Bethel Parish Shop from 1972 to 1985.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo on October 20, 1939.
She is survived by her daughter: Beverly Briggs of Los Cruces, New Mexico,
her son : Richard (Vivian) Means of Bonita Springs, Florida,
her grandchildren : Pamela Briggs,
Kimberly (Don) Lytton,
Carla (Frank) Gonzales,
Mark,
Rick,
Gary (Patty),
Cathy (friend of Chuck) Means,
and 7 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services are at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 12, 2002, at the
Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th. Street in Mount Horeb with Reverend Frank
Maxwell officiating.
A special thank you to her granddaughter, Cathy, for her loving devotion to
Grandma, and to Jean Stanley, a faithful friend.
Merrill S. Mickelson
Black Earth - Merrill S. Mickelson, age 87 of Black Earth, WI died on Thursday September
13, 2002, at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth, WI.
He was born September 4, 1915, in Vermont Township, WI, to J. Melvin and
Myrtle (Lee) Mickelson. He married
the former Elizabeth E. Schlub April 14,
1942, at Vermont Lutheran Church. They farmed in Vermont Township.
He was a former catcher and lead off hitter for the Cross Plains Baseball
Home Talent. He was a season ticket holder for the Wisconsin Badgers. He
loved farming, sports, and his animals.
He was a life member of Vermont Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife: Betty

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Herman and a sister: Ruby

Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 at the Vermont
Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Mach officiating. Burial will be at Vermont
Lutheran Church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday, Sept.
15, 2002 at the Ellestad Mt. Horeb Funeral Home 500 N. 8th Street.
Richard S. Reisdorf
Pine Bluff/Cross Plains - Richard S. Reisdorf, age 47 of Pine Bluff, WI died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 05, 2002 at Uw Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born December 26, 1954 in Madison, WI to Francis "Bud" & Eileen (Coyle) Reisdorf. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1973. He then worked for Graber's in Middleton, farmed in his family's farm and was most recently employed by the Mt. Horeb School District. He loved his nieces and nephews. He was active in sports in his younger years and loved car racing.
He was a member of St. Mary's of Pine Bluff Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents: Bud & Eileen,

Virginia (Jake) Dresen of Pine Bluff,

19 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and great nephews,
his god-father: Donald Coyle of Madison, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and two brothers-in-law:
Mathew "Satch" Coyle and Alan Bongard.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at St. Mary's of Pine Bluff Catholic Church with Fr. Dan Volkert and Fr. Tom Coyle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at St. Mary's of Pine Bluff
Catholic Church where a scripture service will be at 4:00 PM.

Edward H. Schwoerer
Mt. Horeb/Perry Township - Edward H. Schwoerer, age 79, of Perry Township, WI, died on Monday, August 26, 2002, at Monroe Clinic Hospital.
He was born February 22, 1923 in Perry Twp., to Fred and Mary (Haag) Schwoerer.
He married
the former Clara Bindl on April 20, 1948 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain, WI. They farmed in Perry Township area all of their married
life. He was a Jacques Seed dealer for several years.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb, WI, with Fr. Paul Arinze officiating. Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th St., Mt. Horeb, WI, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 pm.
