Veronica M. (Verna) Denissen
Veronica M. (Verna) Denissen, 91, died peacefully Saturday, March 22, 2003, at a local nursing home. She was born November 9, 1911, to the late John and Mary (Dorn) Schumacher. On May 25, 1935, she married Edward P. Denissen. Verna was a bookkeeper at Stiefel's Clothing Store prior to her marriage and later for their family construction business. She enjoyed her family, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida, where she was an active member, "oldies" music, cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean (Richard) Robinson, North Hampton, N.H., Rosemary (James) Schuster, Oshkosh, Marlene Denissen, Bonduel; nine grandchildren, Curtis, Mark, Gregory, Edward, Catherine, Linda, Timothy, Rebecca and Scott; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Alfred Denissen; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Tomcheck, Gertrude Denissen and Leona Denissen; and a half-sister, Althea Mielke.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward; her parents, John and Mary Schumacher; her parents-in-law, John and Rose Denissen; four brothers-in-law, Ray, Harry and George Denissen, and Tracy Tomcheck; a sister-in-law, Mary; two nieces and one nephew.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 St. Joseph Drive, Oneida, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Verna's name at Western Village, 1640 Shawano Ave., Green Bay.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Western Village-100 Wing for the wonderful care given to our mother. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

Adeline Hyde
Mrs. William (Adeline Bigelow) Hyde, 82, Abrams, Wis., went to be with her husband, Bill, on Monday, March 24, 2003. She was born July 4, 1920, to the late Edward and Ella Bigelow. She enjoyed fishing, camping and outings with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and working with her flowers. She and her husband Bill also loved winter trips to Arizona. Her husband Bill preceded her in death on October 19, 1993.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Patrick Schaeffer, Oconto Falls; five grandchildren, Jeff Hanson and his friend Vicki, Abrams, Diane Remington, Oconto, Kelly Smith, Green Bay, Lisa and Robert Garrity, De Pere, Sean Schaeffer, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by John Schaeffer; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lu Ruehle, Ruthven, Iowa, Abbie Barszcz, Milwaukee, Betty Krumrei, Crivitz, Carol (Maynard) Rice, Oconto Falls; three bothers, Ward (Clarice) Bigelow, Oconto Falls, Neil (Sandy) Bigelow, Oconto Falls, Milton Bigelow, Milwaukee; three stepchildren, James Hyde, Robert Hyde and Lynn Hyde.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Marvin, Earl, Melvin, Byron, Otis; and a grandson, Todd Schaeffer. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Abrams First Responders for their care and to friends and neighbors of the Habeck Trailer Park, especially Denise and Michelle. Adeline was always there to help out, and everyone will remember her for that.

Donald R. Zirbel
Donald R. "Scoop" Zirbel, age 78, of De Pere, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2003, at a local nursing home. Donald was born Nov. 10, 1924, in De Pere to the late Edward Herman Zirbel Sr. and Ida Luedtke. He was a graduate of East De Pere High School class of 1942. Donald served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On May 8, 1946, he married Frances Doris Justice at Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn. He enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing and was an avid Packer fan. He liked gardening with Johnny, hickory nutting with Smitty and watching golf and football with Bud. Donald was employed at Nicolet Paper for over 40 years and was past president of the Quarter Century Club.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Vickie Van Rite of Ashwaubenon, Cheryl and Greg Blandford of Petaluma, Calif.; four grandchildren, Rodney and Yolanda Van Rite of Zion, Ill., Rory Van Rite of Green Bay, Andrew Blandford, Megan Blandford of Petaluma, Calif.; one great-grandson, Craig Van Rite of Ashwaubenon; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and their wives, Edward Jr. "Zeke" and Viola Zirbel, Howard "Howdy" and Eloise Zirbel, and Wilbur "Woody" Zirbel.
Donald was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Friends may call on Thursday, March 27, 2003, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Lutheran Church, 1700 Lost Dauphin, De Pere. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Steve Apfel officiating. Burial in the Greenwood Cemetery. COTTER FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
