Genevieve "Genny" S. Rost
Genevieve "Genny" S. Rost, 75, of Little Suamico, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Parkview Manor Nursing Center surrounded by her family.
She was born September 14, 1927, in Newberry, MI, to the late James Sanders and Lela (Sanders) Range. Genny attended Oconto Falls High School and worked for the Bond Pickle Company in Oconto. On January 5, 1952, Genny married Bob Rost in Oconto Falls at St. Anthony Catholic Church. She loved the farm life; her life was working on the farm and raising animals, especially her dog "Corky."
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bob; her children and their spouses, Robert C. and Rhonda Rost of Broomfield, Colorado, Carol Singleton of Little Suamico, Mark and Cindy Rost of Little Suamico, Nancy and Ron Zabroski of Oconto, Jane Rost-Moya and Danny Moya of Denver, Colorado, John and Stacy Rost of Oak Creek; her 18 grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Art and Jane Sanders of Columbus, Georgia, Herald and Kathy Sanders of Rochelle, Ill.; her three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Beatrice Zuercher of Creston, Ill., Alice and George Borkowski of Marinette, Diana and Howard Nelson of Crivitz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Vernon Range; her stepbrother, Vernon Range Jr.; her son-in-law, Everett Singleton; and her two brothers-in-law, Frank Zuercher and Charles Kostreva.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., on Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. A Parish Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at St. Pius Catholic Church in Little Suamico on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Gary J. Dantinne officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
The family of Genny Rost would like to extend a special word of thanks to the caring staff of Parkview Manor Nursing Center, and especially her granddaughter Shelly Belongia for the care she gave Genny at home and at the nursing home. "We love you Shelly - from your whole family."
