Tammy L. Batten
Tammy L. Batten, age 43, of 2830 Fourth St. South, Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Kent Raddatz will officiate. Burial in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wisconsin Rapids.

Tammy was born October 28, 1959, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Donald and Elaine (Klipstine) Muesbeck. She married David W. Batten on June 18, 1983, in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Tammy was a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School in 1978 and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1982. She later earned her master's degree in early childhood from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

In 1984 Tammy worked as the activity director at Mid-State Technical College. In 1985 she began working at the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools as the adaptive physical education teacher, where Tammy developed the program for the district. Later, Tammy taught early childhood at Washington Elementary School, taught physical education and adaptive physical education at Washington Elementary School and also taught summer school for many years. While at Washington School Tammy was involved in play buddy groups, jump rope club, student-teacher game days, was a student council advisor, was a big advocate for fitness statewide and nationally and was a member of the physical education curriculum steering committee.

Tammy received the Kohl Fellowship Teacher of the Year Award; was a coach at East Junior High School and Lincoln High School in track, volleyball, and was involved with the summer volleyball camps; coached Special Olympics for several years; and served as a committee member for the Children's Miracle Network golf fund raiser. Tammy also enjoyed golfing.

Tammy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was involved in children's groups, developed the Celebrate Service, organized volunteers for the Children's Gathering, was a member of the liturgical dance group and as Pastor Kent would say "served the church in every imaginable way."

Tammy is survived by her husband, David; one daughter Krista, at home; her parents Donald and Eleaine Muesbeck of Green Bay; three brothers, Daniel (Julie) Muesbeck of Green Bay, Dale (Tricia) Muesbeck of Sun Prairie, Randy (Tracy) Muesbeck of Menasha; two sisters, Sharon (Ron) Bodart of Green Bay, Kari (Fred) Schmidt of Kaukauna. She is also survived by her mother- and father in-law, Gary and Elizabeth Batten of De Pere; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Chris) Heller of Weston, Jenny (Craig) Kloes of Sheboygan; brothers-in-law, Jack (Pat) Batten of Green Bay, Joel Batten of Madison. Tammy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents. Friends may call Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

"Tammy was a loving, caring, giving and encouraging friend. Her wonderful spirit touched everyone. She lived what she believed in - whether that be helping a friend, having faith in God or helping others become the very best they can be. She always had concern and showed her love for others."

Hilbert H. Gruetzmacher
Hilbert H. Gruetzmacher, 79, Luxemburg, died peacefully early Thursday morning, March 13, 2003, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 31, 1923, to the late Herman and Clara (Kratz) Gruetzmacher in Montpelier. He married Bernice Dahlke on May 8, 1954, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Hilbert served in the U.S. Army. He operated a farm in Montpelier until 1977 and also worked at N.E.W Plastics, Kewaunee Highway Department and later at the Luxemburg Clinic. He enjoyed playing cards, taking care of flowers with his "Green Thumb," and spending time with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier, as well as serving the church in several capacities.

Hilbert is survived by his wife, Bernice; his children, Neil (Debbie) Gruetzmacher, Green Bay, Deborah (Randy) Delebreau, Kewaunee, Candace (Roger) Krohn, Luxemburg, Darcie (Chan) Junio, Luxemburg; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mike) Bouche, Stacy Gruetzmacher and special friend DuWayne Mertens, Matthew (Cara) Delebreau, Sonya and Lacey Delebreau, Ashley and Zachary Krohn, Chance and Mackenzie Junio; one great-grandson, Garrett Bouche; three stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonard (Angeline) Gruetzmacher, Kewaunee; two sisters, Gladys Dahlke, Kewaunee, his twin sister, Helen (Ernest) Treichel, De Pere; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ortwin (Lois) Dahlke, Luxemburg; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin; one granddaughter, Tiffany Krohn; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Rahlen and Elfrieda Gruetzmacher, Bernice Gruetzmacher; one brother-in-law, Lester Dahlke. Friends may call at MC MAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, from 3-8 p.m. Friday. Visitation continues between 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. A.E. Batiansila officiating. Burial in church cemetery.

A special thank-you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Luxemburg Clinic and Green Bay Oncology, the staff of Unity Hospice, especially Sally Ann, and Rev. Batiansila, along with everyone who offered prayers and support to Hilbert and his family.

Robert L. Mathews
Robert L. Mathews, 82, Green Bay. Visitation after 11 a.m. today at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave. Funeral service 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Carol; three daughters, Susan Mathews, Sheboygan, Mary (Cleve) Sibley, Marathon, Fla., Ellen (Ted) Heiser, Waunakee; one son, John (Carrie) Mathews, Oregon, Wis.; four grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Sally) Mathews, De Pere.

Pamela D. Myer
Pamela D. Myer, 61, a Green Bay resident, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003, at her home.

Pamela was born June 12, 1941, in Chicago. In 1969, she married Jim Myer in Chicago. Pamela was employed for 22 years as an assistant administrator at Odd Fellows Rebekah Home and also as a clerk at the Boston Store and Younkers.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Myer, Green Bay; one son, Tom Cotter and his son, Eric, both of Gainsville, Fla.; twin daughters, Kathy Lee, South Bend, Ind., and Jenny (Dave) Laird, New London; two stepsons, Jeff (Annie) Myer and their son, Clint, and Greg (Sandy) Myer, all of Louisville, Ky.

There will be no services.

Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., is assisting the family with arrangements.

Richard C. Abel
Richard C. Abel, 59, Green Bay. Visitation 10 -11 a.m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 915 Ivory St., Seymour. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Michael (Joy) Abel, Green Bay; one daughter, Kristine (Scott) Mielke, Green Bay; four granddaughters; two sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Hilgenberg, Seymour, Mary Abel, Seymour; one brother, Marlin (Kathy) Abel, Appleton. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, is assisting the family.

Frank Bialek III
At the young age of 43, Frank Bialek III died at St. Vincent Hospital on Sunday evening, March 9, 2003. He was born May 10, 1959, in Chicago, Ill., and lived in Milwaukee, Tomah, Galesville, Wis., and Nashville, Tenn., before moving to Door County, Wis., in 1997. Frank was a self-taught musician who had a passion for writing beautiful country songs about his life and family. He took pride in breeding and working with his cutting horses. He was also an accomplished cabinetmaker and tradesman. In addition, he was active as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lauri (Wier, Cowell); his children, Frank Myron IV, age 21, William, age 16, Jonathan, age 8, twins Brian and Loreena Angel, age 7, Melissa, age 9, Myranda, age 20, and her husband, Justin Howard, Sturgeon Bay; and 5-month-old granddaughter, Makaiya Lynn Howard. Further survivors are his parents, Frank and Inza Bialek, Suamico, Wis.; and siblings, Jeanette and her husband Gordon Lukes, Ogema, Wis., Dianna and her husband Ramon Cowell, Suamico, Wis., and Darryl and his wife Renea Bialek, Red Wing, Minn.; nieces and nephews.

Frank was a wonderful husband and a very loving and caring father as well as a dearly beloved friend to many others. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered in the hearts of those left behind.

Friends may call a Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday. A memorial service will be held at noon Friday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3065 W. Mason St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Arthur R. Forsythe
Arthur R. Forsythe, 82, Green Bay. Visitation after 9:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Ninth St. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ellen, Appleton, Connie (John) Knope, Green Bay, Dee (Mike) Ness, Little Suamico, Vicki, Green Bay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Genevieve Burger, Green Bay. Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., is assisting the family.

Donald Gilson
Donald Gilson, 73, Ashwaubenon. Funeral service 10 a.m. today at St. John Lutheran Church, 2700 Babcock Road. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; one son, Doug Gilson, Green Bay; one daughter, Shelly (Michael) Lynd, Wausaukee; one grandchild. Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., is assisting the family.

Ivan R. Leemon
Ivan R. Leemon, 75, Green Bay. Arrangements are pending; Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., is assisting the family.

Mary Ellen Timmerman
With her rosary in her hand and her family at her side, Mary Ellen Timmerman, 90, passed away Monday evening, March 10, 2003. Mary Ellen was born to Oswald and Clara (Conway) Horan in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., on February 10, 1913. She married Edwin Timmerman on October 10, 1936, at St. Willebrord Catholic Church in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1988. Mary Ellen enjoyed her family, flower arranging, hand sewing, reading and watching the Packers.

Mary Ellen is survived by her four children; son, Michael Timmerman, Tempe, Ariz.; daughters, Patricia Jacobson, Woodbridge, Va., Molly Roffers, Green Bay, daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Pat Oudenhoven, Green Bay. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Brian (Stacy) Jacobson, Beth (Michael) Bickford, Barbara (John) Iaquinto, Leigh Roffers, Tricia Tullis, Christine Timmerman, Matthew Oudenhoven, Katie (Jeff) Mikla; three great-grandchildren, Thomas Roffers, Emily Bickford, Samantha Jacobson; other relatives and friends.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; son-in-law, Gerald Jacobson; grandsons, Dan and Douglas Roffers; brothers, Joseph and Frank Horan.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Mike Ingold officiating. Inurnment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
