Survivors include his wife, Cecelia Winkel Bates; two sons, Richard "Jack" (Jean) Bates, Silver Cliff, Stephen (Mary) Bates, Ann Arbor, Mich.; one daughter, Linda Bates, Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mae Mosher, Indiana . Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, is assisting the family.

Veronica "Ronnie" V. Brown

Veronica "Ronnie" V. Brown, 58, Green Bay. Visitation noon-2 p.m. Saturday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St. Memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include her husband, Leo; one son, Kevin Brown; one daughter, Victoria (Jason) Pfeiffer; three stepchildren, Dale Brown, Dawn Brown, Dean Brown; four grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Doris) Barbeau, Eugene (Joan) Barbeau; one sister, Loyola (Dale) Olson. Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., is assisting the family.

Josephine M. Eliason
Josephine M. Eliason (nee Everard), 1491 Shawano Ave., passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the age of 97. She was born September 24, 1905, in Green Bay to the late Joseph and Mary (Hussin) Evrard. Josephine was a graduate of the original St. Joseph Academy and worked at Stathas Motors. She met and married her husband Einar Eliason who preceded her in death in 1955. She was a stay-at-home mother until her husband passed away and then she worked at the City Clerk's office until her retirement. Josephine is the last of six siblings of the original Evrard Homestead Truck Farm, which consisted of land from Dousman Street to Shawano Avenue.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Zeller and Nan Greiser; one son and duaghter-in-law, Jim and Fran Eliason; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ramona Eliason; her grandchildren and their spouses, Ann Zeller Bielefeldt (Robert), Mary Lueth (Bryan), Peter Zeller (Lisa), Chris Zeller (Susan), David Zeller, Vicky Villers (Harvey), Melissa Greiser Bonar (Ron), Jo-Marie Rutledge (Doug), Amy Graff (Jim), Jim Eliason (Ruth), Jennie Eliason, David Eliason (Pam), Mike Eliason, Joe Eliason (Sue), Tom Eliason and Maria Eliason; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Einar Eliason; five brothers and sisters, Leo, Pauline, Alma, Ray and Francis; and two sons-in-law, Donald Zeller and Robert Greiser.

Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church from 10 to noon Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday at the church with the Rev. Mike Ingold officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.

The family of Josephine M. Eliason would like to thank the staff of Grancare Nursing Home for all of their wonderful care. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the Eliason family.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Sr.; two sons, Roy Jr. (Dorothy) Lindeman, Green Bay, Robert (Shirley), Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice Hoberg, Green Bay.

Wayne J. Skenandore
Wayne J. Skenandore, 61, Seymour, formerly Franklin. Visitation after 4 p.m. today at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere. Oneida Singers 5:15 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial service 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Pat; his children, Jason (Kris) Skenandore, Glendale, Amy Skenandore, Oneida, Nicole Skenandore, Seymour, Sandra Skenandore, Seymour, Melvin Shoning, Colorado, Teresa (Bob) Hoeft, Muskego, Robert Shoning, Milwaukee; 22 grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Gary (Carolyn) Smith, California, Ronald (Sharon) Smith, Green Bay; one daughter, Cheryl (Ron) Danelski, Arizona; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Rilla (Dale) C. Wichman
Rilla (Dale) C. Wichman, 76, Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 651 Pinehurst Drive. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include her husband, Ronald; one son, Dan (Trena) Wichman, Orem, Utah; two daughters, Linda (Edward) Sulewski, Toledo, Ohio, Jan Read, Hollister, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Resheke; one brother, Sammy Tyler.

Julia M. Newhouse
Julia M. Newhouse, 98, Green Bay. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. today at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St. Survivors include one son, Richard (Betty) Newhouse, Greenville; one daughter, Margaret Hastreiter, Green Bay; ten grandchildren. Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Chester B. Pieschek
Chester B. Pieschek, 83, town of Eaton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1919, in the town of Eaton to the late Walter and Mary (Jurczykowski) Pieschek. Chet married the former Catherine Gerstner on Sept. 1, 1943, at St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Sugar Bush. He and Catherine owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Eaton until retiring in 1995. Chet was also employed as a longshoreman for Leight's Material and Handling for 35 years until retiring in 1988. He was a lifetime member of the Happy Hoppers Polka Club and enjoyed polka dancing every Sunday for 25 years. Chet truly enjoyed spending time with his family and made a point of visiting each and every relative as often as he could. He was a past member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Parish and is currently a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Pine Grove.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine, and their four children, Gerald (Beverly) Pieschek and their children, Cheryl (John), Amy (Dan), Sheila (Dennis) and Jeremy; Harold (Julie) Pieschek and their children, Chad, Nicole and Dana; Julaine Pieschek Ingersoll and her daughter Kerri, all of Green Bay; Mark Pieschek and his special friend Nancy and Mark's children, Preston, Lawton and Alayna; four great grandchildren, Jacob, Jackson, Brock and Danielle; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Frank (Lorraine) Pieschek and Mitchell (Marcella) Pieschek, all of Green Bay, and Excelda Pieschek, De Pere; three sisters, Magdalen Ostrenga, Denmark, Angeline Danielski, Green Bay, and Basilia Whipp, Denmark; two sisters-in-law, Marina Gerstner and Gladys Gerstner, both of Green Bay; nieces and nephews, Cliff and Jean De Beck, Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Adam Pieschek; three sisters, Verna (Frank) Cherney, Pauline (Clarence) Van Den Plas and Evelyn Pieschek; three brothers-in-law, Peter Ostrenga, Louis Danelski and Norbert Whipp; three brothers-in-law, Clarence (Mildred) Gerstner, Lawrence Gerstner and Clem Gerstner.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pine Grove until time of Mass. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church with Rev. Ron Belitz officiating. Entombment in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

Ione G. Smith
Ione G. Smith, 78. Visitation 2-6 p.m. Saturday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. Prayer service 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Survivors include two sons, Gary (Carolyn) Smith, Huntington Beach, Calif, Ronald (Sharon) Smith, Green Bay; one daughter, Cheryl (Ron) Danelski, Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Jean M. (Mrs. Earl) Winkel
Jean M. (Mrs. Earl) Winkel, 74, 426 N. Ashland Ave., entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 4, 2003. She was born August 25, 1928, to the late Peter and Linda (Bath) Hansen. On April 24, 1947, she married Earl G. Winkel at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wabeno, Wis. Jean was a devoted member of St. Patrick Parish for over 50 years. She served multiple terms as president of the St. Anne's Altar Society. With her husband, Earl, she was an adult leader in the COR Youth Retreat Program. She also had served several years as a lay minister. Jean and her mother, "Grandma" LindaHansen, worked for over 40 years supervising the Kitchen Crew at St. Patrick's for virtually every parish function. She and her husband and their children founded the Blue Candle, the parish newsletter, which they edited monthly for 12 years.

She is survived by six children and their spouses, Patricia and Bruce Bolzenthal, Bedford, Texas, Peg and Dick Meneau, Prentice, Wis., Tom and Cheryl Winkel, Green Bay, Peter and Dianne Winkel, Ashwaubenon, John Winkel, Green Bay, Beth Winkel, Green Bay; her grandchildren, Bryan Bolzenthal, Anne Marie (Bolzenthal) Shallcross, Aaron, Matt, Phil and Mark Meneau, Bob and Christopher Winkel, Kathy, Michelle and Tara Nielson, Kevin, David and Michael Winkel, Derek Winkel; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Don and Vi Hansen, Crandon, Norman Hansen, Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris and Marty Kacmarynski, Pulaski, Rosie and Bernard Ronsman, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews; and Mary S. Winkel; and many other friends, especially the "Kitchen Crew" of St. Patrick Parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Winkel; and her parents, Peter and Linda Hansen.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Mark Vandersteeg officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

Jean's family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staffs of St. Mary's Hospital, Unity Hospice and the Green Bay Fire and Rescue Squad for all of their care.
