Coletta Ditzman
Coletta Ditzman, 83, lifetime resident of Green Bay, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, June 11, 2003. Coletta resided at Santa Maria Nursing Home for the past two years. Born in Green Bay, May 26, 1920, she is the daughter of the late Louis and Cora (Verber) Allard. Coletta married Donald Ditzman on November 25, 1937, at Saints Peter and Paul Church, and they enjoyed 61 loving years together. She worked for Larsen Canning Company for 32 years. She was an excellent cook, avid reader, and she loved to embroider, crochet and dance. Coletta enjoyed an opportunity to travel, and she especially loved spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of AARP.
She is survived by eight children and spouses, Gail and Lee Kirchner, Donald and Linda Ditzman, Calvin and Karen Ditzman, Colleen and Bill Terrien, all of Green Bay, Judy and Jerry Process of Stoughton, Cora and Mark Parmentier, Patricia and Tony Simons, all of New Franken, Tami and Mike Griese of Ft. Worth, Texas; son-in-law, Jim Czechanski of Green Bay; 21 grandchildren and spouses, Jimmy (Donna), Cindy, and Karen Czechanski, MaryJo (Phil) Short, Jane (Chris) Kozicki, Jeff (Lori) and Jay (Susan) Kirchner, Craig, Mike, and Troy Process, Tim (Donna), Todd (Leann), Scott (Laurie) Ditzman, Kurt Ditzman, Elise (Brad) Lasecki, Dan and Dawn Terrien, Shelley (Mark) Pierquet, Dustin and Autumn Simons, and Jackie Griese; 21 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Allard of Green Bay.
Coletta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter, Deanna Czechanski; son, Dale Ditzman; grandson, Christopher Nohr; brother, Merrill Allard.
Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, from 4-8 p.m. Friday and prior to the funeral on Saturday. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at Saints Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. The family would like to thank the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home for the loving care it gave Coletta during the past two years.
Pearl (Luebke) Fonstad
Pearl (Luebke) Fonstad, 85, Racine. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, 1700 Lost Dauphin Road, De Pere. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include her husband, Douglas, Racine; one son, Ken (Mary) Fonstad, Waukesha; two grandsons; three brothers, Edwin (Mae) Luebke, De Pere, Delbert (Ellie), Chippewa Falls, Roland, De Pere.
Daniel William Kennedy
Daniel William Kennedy, 49, died June 12, 2003, after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born July 2, 1953, to the late James and Suzan (Huxford) Kennedy. Dan attended St. Agnes Grade School, Premontre High School and graduated from UWGB in 1978. He joined the Navy after high school and retired as a reservist after 20 years of service spanning Vietnam to the first Gulf War. On January 4, 1975, he married Marcia Hoven. Dan was a captain with the Green Bay Fire Dept., where he was employed as a firefighter/paramedic for almost 23 years. He was an instructor for NWTC and was a member of Local 141. An avid motorcyclist, he was a past regional representative for ABATE. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia; three sons, Michael, Patrick and Joseph Kennedy, all of Green Bay; father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Geraldine Hoven, California; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Colleen "Kitty" and Brian Leigh, Mequon, Kerrie "Kippy" Kennedy, Green Bay; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Christopher and Jessica Kennedy, Milwaukee, Marla Kennedy, Mequon; nieces and a nephew, Elizabeth, Josh and Suzan Kennedy, Mequon, Katie and Erin Leigh, Mequon; his grandmother, Viola Huxford, Green Bay; and an aunt, Mary Jane Kennedy, Green Bay. Dan is also survived by his beloved hunting dog and buddy, Coco.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Webb Kennedy. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Sharing of Memories will be at 7 p.m. Monday. Friends also may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Committal Services with Military Honors to follow at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
A very special thank-you to Dr. Scott Hunt, Dr. Jules Blank and Dr. Mark Jenson for your deep caring and compassion shown to Dan and his family, and also to all Dan's brothers of Local 141 who carried us along and eased the way this last year.

Mason St., and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave. Prayer service 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mildred M. "Millie" Calkins
Our dear Mildred M. "Millie" Calkins, 83, went to heaven Wednesday, June 11, 2003. She was born February 13, 1920, in Denmark, Wis., to Martin and Margaret (Hanna) Faina. Mildred was a 1938 graduate of Denmark High School. She served her country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. On April 6, 1945, she married Edward P. Calkins. Edward preceded her in death in 1975.
Mildred was known for her gifts of creativity, humor and spontaneity, and enjoyed sharing them with her daughters and grandchildren. She was generous, willing to give her last penny. Mildred enjoyed traveling, most especially to Hawaii, Wyoming and Georgia. She was also an avid animal lover.
Survivors include her four daughters and their spouses, Judy and Pat Keller, Oregon, Wis., Kathy Downham, Green Bay, Patty Barnette, Shawano, Jean and Jack Bonow, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Edward Downham, Green Bay, Robert Gagnon, Green Bay, Mandy (John) Martin, Germany, Eddie Oroyan, Minneapolis, Minn., Bill Oroyan, Green Bay; one sister, Dolores Faina; onebrother, Donald (Shirley) Faina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph Faina; and one sister, Emilie Faina.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Friends also may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
The family extends a special thank-you to the staff of Western Village for its compassionate care and to Jesse Berg of the Brown County COPS Program for her many years of dedicated service.
Cyril "Cy" M. Cegelski
Cyril "Cy" M. Cegelski, 85, Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at his home. He was born November 10, 1917, in Green Bay to the late Andrew and Antoinette (Hyska) Cegelski. Cy married the former Joyce Muller on January 23, 1937, at St Willebrord's Catholic Church. He was employed by Northern Paper Mill for 41 years, retiring in 1978. Cy will be remembered as a sports enthusiast, especially being involved with his grandchildren's sporting activities. He was a trainer for the Green Bay Bobcats and an assistant trainer for the Premontre Hockey Team. Among his other joys he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Cy was a longtime member of St. Willebrord Parish.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce, and their seven grandchildren and their families: Valerie (Kevin) McLeod; Brick (Laura) Cegelski and their children, Brick Jr. and Shelby; Joseph (Diane) Cegelski and their daughter, Ashley; Jesse "Sid" (Yvonne) Cegelski and their daughter, Alexis; Jennifer Cegelski and her children, Ashley, Dalton, and Ty; John (Kelly) Cegelski and their children, Rane and Courtney; James Cegelski and his son, Avery; two daughters-in-law, Ruth Cegelski, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Judith Hrubesky, Green Bay; six sisters, Eleanor Okray, Bensonville, Ill., Delphine Charles, Beatrice Anderson, Loretta Boschert, Valencia Cegelski, Phyllis "Daisey" (John) Jacobs, all of Green Bay; three brothers, Rudy Cegelski, Green Bay, Robert Cegelski, Florida, James Cegelski, California; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Sandy. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert (Bobo) and Pete Cegelski; two brothers, Edward and Arni Cegelski; one sister, Rita Toonen.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home and Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4-8 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Willebrord Catholic Church until time of mass. Parish Wake service 7:30 p.m. today. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Kenneth DeGroot, O.Praem, officiating. Burial in the Allouez Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Cy's name.
