James J. Basteyns
James J. Basteyns, 72, of the Village of Howard, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at a local hospital after a two-year battle with melanoma. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 15, 1930, in Green Bay to Felix and Rose (Williquette) Basteyns. On August 31, 1957, he married Sally Salscheider at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. Jim was in business for many years. He started out with Jim's Shell on Velp Avenue. Then he and Sally owned and operated Growler's Inn near St. John the Baptist in Duck Creek. He was a founding partner in the River's Bend Supper Club. Jim and Sally later owned and operated the Banc Supper Club on Main Street. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Klemm Tank Lines.
Jim loved boating, fishing, rebuilding boats and feeding the birds, ducks and squirrels and enjoyed his place up in Florence. But most importantly was his family, especially his grandchildren. Jim always loved doing things for family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; four children and their spouses, Robin Perleberg, Patty and Pat Schmitt, Marty and Tami Basteyns and Heather Basteyns, all of Howard; six grandchildren, Nik, Kaetlyn, Aaron, Alex, Abbie and Jacob; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Ted Thyrion, Howard; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Basteyns, Green Bay. He will also be sadly missed by his special friend, Pete Failing, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Maus; three brothers, John, Ed and Raymond Basteyns; and a son-in-law, David Perleberg.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., 4-8 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Monday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery.
The Basteyns family wishes to express their gratitude to the Oncology Department at St. Vincent Hospital, Dr. Blank, Mary Meyer, the nurses and staff on Ninth Floor of St. Vincent Hospital and the staff of Unity Hospice for their care of Jim and his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
Gerald J. Dalebroux
Gerald J. Dalebroux, 75, Luxemburg, died early Saturday morning, June 7, 2003, at a Green Bay hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia.
He was born November 21, 1927, in Thiry Daems to the late Alex and Louise (Lemens) Dalebroux. He married Aurelia Zellner at St. Mary's Church, Luxemburg, on August 6, 1949. Gerald served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. He was a member of the NFO for 18 years, serving as president for the Kewaunee County chapter, a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg, holding duties as past commander and chaplin, as well as a member of the Dyckesville Lions Club. He was a member of St. Odile and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gerald worked at Kewaunee Engineering for 15 years while owning and operating the original Dalebroux Homestead.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Rella, and his children, Randy (Mary) Dalebroux, Luxemburg, Sally (Michael) Wiericks, Casco, Brian (Marcia) Dalebroux, Luxemburg, Todd (Karen) Dalebroux, Minnesota, Michael (Joanie) Dalebroux, Luxemburg, Michelle (Patrick) Morris, New Franken, Maria Dalebroux, Colorado; 12 grandchildren, Brandon and Brent Dalebroux, Christopher and Cory Wiericks, Greg, Lee and Steve Dalebroux, Alexis Dalebroux, Josh and Alicia Dalebroux, Kaitlyn and Collin Morris; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Fern) Dalebroux, Green Bay; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rita Vogel, Connecticut, Duwayne Ravet, Luxemburg, Margaret (Tom) Zuege, Kewaunee, Earl Gillis, Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Roland and Arnold (Jean) Dalebroux; one sister and two brothers-in-law, LaVerne Gillis, Leonard Vogel and James Ravet.
Friends may call at the MC MAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, with visitation continuing after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Champion. Prayer service 6:30 p.m. Monday followed by the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 memorial service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, at St. Joseph Church, Champion, with the Rev. Frank Kerscher officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Full military rites at grave side. A special thanks to the staff of 9th floor St. Vincent Hospital for care given to Gerald.

Brian E. Woodford
Brian E. Woodford, 40, Green Bay, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born July 8, 1962, in Green Bay to Joyce Szczepanski and the late Earl Woodford. Brian was employed by Tufco Technologies. He was a 1981 graduate of Ashwaubenon High School. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed deer hunting.
Survivors include his daughter, Shanley Woodford and her mother, Patty; his mother, Joyce Neff; one step-brother, Al Neff; one step-sister, Barb Chic; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Szczepanski; his godparents, Wayne Spakowitz and Nancy La Count; his good buddy, Richard Wohlfeil; aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Woodford; step-father, Gordon Neff; daughter, Alyssa Woodford; paternal grandfather, Chester Szczepanski; paternal grandparents, Selma Woodford and Raymond Woodford; and his dogs, Duchess, Spike and Toby.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at First Baptist Church, 2421 West Point Road, where a Memorial Service will take place at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Lyndahl Funeral Home is serving the family.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and the staff of the 4th floor ICU ward at St. Vincent Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care.

Lloyd D. Corbin Jr.
Lloyd D. "Doug" Corbin Jr., 67, Green Bay, formerly of Milwaukee, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born October 18, 1935, in Milwaukee to the late Lloyd D. and Marion (Witters) Corbin Sr. Doug was a graduate of Bay View High School, Class of 1953. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army for two years. After receiving his honorable discharge, he worked for 31 years as a fireman for the Milwaukee Fire Dept., retiring in 1990. In 1992, he moved to Green Bay. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Colleen and Michael Ruka, Milwaukee, Christopher and Toni Corbin, Las Vegas, Nev.; his grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Robert; his very special friend, Rose Kabacinski, Green Bay; and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday. The Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Milwaukee.
