Carolyn Joyce Johnson
Carolyn Joyce Johnson, 78, Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 21, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born January 6, 1926, to the late Herman and Ellen (Dahlk) Schwenn in Madison, Wisconsin. On September 4, 1950, she married Cletus Johnson in Madison. She was secretary for Western Lanes "Tea Time" Bowling League and did much volunteering for community organizations. Carolyn was an avid gardener and bowler and loved playing card games with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker and always put her family ahead of herself.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Cletus; three daughters, Cathy Tuomisto, Appleton; Linda Johnson, Green Bay; and Judy Johnson Zollar, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Mary Johnson, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Carrie (Peter) Hutton; John Tuomisto; Mollie Tuomisto; Justin Zollar; Jacy Zollar; and Jenalee Johnson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joshua Tuomisto and Alayna Zollar and 12 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Road. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Ft. Howard Mausoleum Chapel where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Kotwicki officiating. Entombment will be at the Ft. Howard Mausoleum.

Marion Junion
Marion Junion, 85, Green Bay. Visitation 5 - 7 p.m. today at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St.. Funeral 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Ken Paque, John "Jack" Gavre, Sue and Dave Bors, Kay and Mark Gajeski, all of Green Bay; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Patricia Rasmussen
Patricia Rasmussen, 77, Green Bay. Private services were held. Survivors include five children and their spouses, Susan and Steve Erieau, Gloria Zeske, Larry and Bev LePak, Carol VanFranchen, and Tina and Cecil Skenandore, all of Green Bay; one stepson, Lyle Rasmussen, Peoria, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Busse, Green Bay. West Mason Malcore Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason St., assisted the family.

Marie Vandervest
Marie Vandervest, 90, of Green Bay, died Saturday, March 20, 2004. She was born on August 19, 1913 in Rosaire, Wis. to Joseph and Josephine (Charles) Naze. On November 19, 1936, she married Louis Vandervest. She worked at St. Agnes School in Food Service. Marie was a member of St. Agnes Ladies Society, St. Mary's Guild, Third Order of St. Francis, and the Homemakers. She was a very active Charter Member at St. Agnes for many years. Marie also volunteered for Social Services and was very active in scouting. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and social activities. Marie especially loved and enjoyed her family.

Survivors include five children, Janice (Bernie) Ducat, Paul (Rose) Vandervest, Mary Jo Vandervest, Roger (Betty) Vandervest, and Jeff (Mary) Vandervest; fourteen grandchildren, Sharon Ducat, Julie (John) Luebke, Mike (Patty) Ducat, Amy (Steve) Fairbairn, Odin (Evie) Anderson, Nicole (Jeff) Moore, Denise (Joe) Scardina, Neil (Robin) Vandervest, Jason Vandervest (his fiancˇ Beth Southard), Alex and Emma Vandervest, Jennifer, Christopher and Daniel Vandervest; eleven great- grandchildren, Melissa (Dylan) Vincent-Bennett, Nicholas (Lori) Ducat, Amanda Ducat, Luke and Jacob Luebke, McKenna and Brennan Fairbairn, Hannah and William Moore, and Avree and Fischer Vandervest; and one great-great-granddaughter, Payton Ducat.

She is further survived by one brother, Ralph Naze; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; her parents; three brothers, Lawrence, Joseph and Benjamin Naze; and four sisters, Libby Krieser, Laura Powers, Ceil May, and Agnes Bo
uche.
Friends and relatives may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a Parish Wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Church Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., on Wednesday from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.

The Vandervest family extends a very special thank you to Dr. Christel and the entire staff, volunteers, and residents of Grancare Nursing Center for their loving care and for making Grancare "her home". They would also like to thank Marie's first granddaughter, Sharon for all the extra care.

William A. Jerabek

Floyd Johnson
Floyd Johnson, 84, Green Bay, went peacefully to his eternal rest on Friday, March 19, 2004, while at home surrounded by his family. Floyd was born May 5, 1919, in Kenmare, North Dakota, the son of Albert W. and Mamie (Bentley) Johnson. On September 1, 1941, he married the former Ellen Vertz at Bethel Lutheran Church where he was an active member for 65 years.

Floyd served with the Occupational Army in Germany after WWII. He was an electrician and a member of the IBEW for 52 years. He retired in 1984 as a master electrician for the Green Bay Public School District after 23 years of service to youth. In addition to his skills as an electrician, he was an accomplished neon glass blower and sign painter and fabricator of metal advertising signs in the Green Bay area.

Floyd especially enjoyed his early years as a Boy Scout leader and was a recipient of the BSA Trail Blazer Award in 1954. He spent many outings as a cook for the Order of the Arrow at Bear Paw camp. More recently he was a member of the Retired Senior Optimist Club. He also looked forward to sharing his faith with others as a member of Bethel's weekly Men's Bible Study. He was proud of his work on the scoreboard crew for the Green Bay Packers, which began in 1949 in Old City Stadium and completed 54 years of service at the 2003 inaugural game in the renovated Lambeau Field. Floyd was a caring person who always had time for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He acquired a reputation of being a "Mr. Fix-it." He and Ellen delivered meals on wheels and visited many shut-ins over the years.

Survivors include Ellen, his wife of 62 years; his children: Darrell Johnson, Randall (Julie) Johnson and Kay Lynne (Michael) Zastrow; seven grandchildren: Traci (Joshua) Mandell, Terry (Stuart) Rottier, Jessica (Trent) Zeitler, Erin (Justin) Mack, and David, Craig and Brian Summerfield; five step-grandchildren: Michelle (Steve) Snell, Jeff (Jennifer) VanStraten, and David, Laura, and Elizabeth Zastrow; five great-grandchildren: Haley and Wyatt Rottier, Jonah Mandell, Zo‘ Zeitler, and Kiley Mack; four step great-grandchildren: Tanner, Travis and Tate VanStraten, and Amanda Snell; brothers: Alvin (Ella) Johnson, Minot, ND, Collins (Arlene) Johnson, Kenmare, ND, and brother-in-law Lester Hansen of Kenmare, ND. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Suzanne, and one sister Doris Hansen. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. Visitation will continue Tuesday, March 23, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bond at Platten, from 10 - 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Froseth officiating. Burial will be in the Nicolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Floyd's name.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Anthony Jaslowski and the Oncology Department of St. Mary's Hospital, Unity Hospice, especially Pam, Sharon, Kristen and Pastor Steve, the many valued neighbors, caring members of Bethel and kind friends.
