Robert (Felix) J. Denissen
Robert (Felix) J. Denissen, Jr., 57, Allouez. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. today at St. Matthew's Parish, 130 St. Matthew St. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include his mom, Marie; one sister, Anne Denissen, Green Bay; two brothers, Paul (Doris) Denissen, De Pere, Mark (Annette) Denissen, Menominee, Mich. Schauer & Schumacher Funeral and Cremation Services, 340 S. Monroe Ave., is assisting the family.

Warren C. "Slim" Johnson
Warren C. "Slim" Johnson, 76, Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond St. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine E. (Kurowski) Johnson; one daughter, Dianne (Michael) Simons, Milwaukee; three sons, Gary (Lynne), Suamico, Keith (Shu Yan), Seattle, Wash, Craig (Barbara), De Pere; five grandsons.

Fr. Albin Miklaszewski
Fr. Albin Miklaszewski, O.F.M., 89, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Assumption B.V.M. Province died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, following a short illness.

Born April 20, 1915, in South Milwaukee, Fr. Albin (Stanley) attended St. Bonaventure High School & Minor Seminary in Sturtevant and in 1938, entered the Franciscan Order in Pulaski. He professed solemn vows on August 15, 1942, and was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Francis Noll (Diocese of Gary, Ind.) in 1946.

Fr. Albin received a master's degree from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, N.Y., and began a 43-year career as a teacher of biology. He also served in weekend ministry in parishes near Ithaca, N.Y., and Milwaukee. From 1950-1970 he was on the faculty of St. Anthony Prep in Watkins Glen, N.Y. After the school closed, he returned to his alma mater in Sturtevant and served on the faculty there for the next 23 years. With the closing of St. Bonaventure High School in 1983, Fr. Albin retired to the friary in Pulaski where he engaged in weekend ministry in area parishes.

In 1993 he moved to Queen of Peace Friary in Burlington where for the past several years he assisted part-time at St. Clare Parish in neighboring Wind Lake.

In addition to his brothers of the Assumption B.V.M. Province, Fr. Albin is survived by his brothers, Henry, Bernard, and John, and his sisters Christine and Evelyn Mikels, Charlotte Varga, Antoinette Blochowicz, Theresa Chybowski, and Marlene Griffith.

His parents and a sister, Felician Sr. Helen Marie Miklaszewski preceded him in death.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 6th in Burlington. Locally, friends are invited to join the friars at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski after 10 a.m. Friday. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with interment in the Provincial Cemetery immediately following the service.

Marvin C. Zuleger, 71, Black Creek. Visitation 10-11 a.m. today at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 349 N. Main St., Seymour; Funeral service 11 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Katch, Post Lake, Debbie (Donald) Van Ornum, Berlin; two sons, Daniel (Deloris) Seidling, Benton Harbor, Mich., James (Traci) Seidling, Menasha; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Sophia Salome Des Jarlais
Sophia Salome Des Jarlais (nee Jagiello), Sun City, Ariz., formerly Wrightstown. Visitation 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Chuirch, 437 Main St., Wrightstown. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include one son, Larry, Surprise, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Wayne A. "Cookie" Lemens
Wayne A. "Cookie" Lemens, 64, Green Bay. A private memorial service was held at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St. Survivors include one sister, Pat (Morris) Fagg, Kiel; three brothers, Lee (Marilyn) Lemens, Madison, Lyle (Doris) Lemens, Brookfield, Myron (Sharon) Lemens, Forestville.

Mrs. Bernard J. (Helen) McClosky
Mrs. Bernard J. (Helen) McClosky, 90, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004. The former Helen Lefebvre was born in Green Bay on Dec. 28, 1913, to the late Jules J. and Marie (Deuster) Lefebvre. On Jan. 6, 1940, she married Bernard J. McClosky at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1994. She was employed as a secretary for many years by Charmin Paper Products Company and Proctor & Gamble Company. Mrs. McClosky was a member of St. Jude Parish and the Women's Catholic Society of Foresters.

Survivors include her brother, Robert Lefebvre, Green Bay; two sisters, Florence Reynolds, California; Jean Charles, Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; her parents; four brothers, Dr. E. J. Lefebvre, Jules Lefebvre, Richard Lefebvre, John Lefebvre; five sisters, Vernanda DeMuyser, Anna Kicsar, Albertine Vandenbusch, Agnes Jacob and Marian Koch.

Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Rev. Michael Ingold is officiating.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established to benefit St. Jude Parish. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Raymond J. Clark
Raymond J. Clark, 77, Green Bay, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Sunday, May 2, 2004. He was born March 10, 1927, in Green Bay to the late Benjamin and Alice (Pierquet) Clark. Raymond served his country proudly in the United Stares Navy during World War II and served on the U.S.S. Carter Hall in the South Pacific. Following the war he married Rita Nooyen at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay Settlement. For over 30 years Raymond drove truck for Super Valu. He was a sportsman who loved the outdoors and spending time at his cottage in Spread Eagle, Wis. Raymond loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends and was known for his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita; six children and their spouses, Randy and Barb Clark, New Franken; Cindy Clark, Green Bay; Bonnie and Steve Wagnitz, Suamico; David and Tane Clark, Wyoming; Wayne and Mary Clark, Howard; Scott and Paula Clark, Sobieski; eight grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Clark, Nick Clark, Clark Wagnitz, Aja Wagnitz, Zachary Clark, Elizabeth Clark, Waylon Clark, Brooke Clark; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lincoln; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Kay and Al Possley, Mary Ann Clark, Pat Dudek, all of Green Bay; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerry and Pat Clark, Green Bay; Lee and Marlene Clark, Crivitz; a sister-in-law, Joyce Clark, a brother-in-law, Donald Ward; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters and brothers, Norma Ward, Francis Clark, Susan Lohlein, Lavern Wyman, Robert Clark, Ben Clark Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Donald Dudek, Robert Wyman; and many other friends.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Friends may also call at Bayside Christian Fellowship, 3475 Humboldt Rd., from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bayside Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Arni Jacobson officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

The family of Raymond J. Clark wishes to thank Pastor Art and Ethel Gregg for their care, prayers and support and the staff of 2 West Wing at Parkview Manor, Pam, Judy and Darlene for their care and concern; and the staff of Unity Hospice, especially, Paula and Patti.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Richard) Veach, Georgia, Nick Moenssens, California, Kim (Sammy) Reid, Colorado, Sue DeBroux, Monroe, Lisa (Rick) Coats, California; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne (Tony) Spino, Kenosha, Beverly (Edward) Kovacik, Racine.

Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) Gustafson
Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) Gustafson, 72, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at a local nursing home after a short illness. Jean was born June 20, 1931, to Frank and Julia (Altman) Slupinski. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1949, and before her marriage had been employed by the Catholic Diocese. On Feb. 27, 1954, she married Kenneth Gustafson at St. Willebrord Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1991. Jean was a charter member and active at St. Agnes Parish. She enjoyed playing bridge, the Packers, attending Weidner Center events, and especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Julia Slupinski; her father-in-law, Adrian Gustafson; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Jerry Slye; eight children and their spouses, Paul and Debbie Gustafson, Wausau; Sue and Dennis Naniot, Green Bay; Bill and Kathy Gustafson, Apple Valley, Minn.; Mary and Brian Murphy, Rochester, N.Y.; Jim and Jean Gustafson, Wausau; Bob and Pam Gustafson, Suamico; Ann Gustafson, Green Bay; Steve and Toni Gustafson, Howard; nine grandchildren, Katrina Gustafson, Andy Gustafson, Brian Murphy, Alan Gustafson, Marie Gustafson, Marlee Gustafson, Clay Gustafson, Shae Gustafson, Mara Gustafson; other cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Slupinski; her mother-in-law, Ardella Gustafson; two aunts, Tillie Altman and Theresa Tikalsky.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating.

Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of both Western Village and Unity Hospice and all of her and friends who faithfully visited her.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Jackie (Axelson) King
Jackie (Axelson) King, 68, Green Bay. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. Funeral service 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Jim Axelson, Green Bay; two daughters, Becky (Jay) Giese, Green Bay, Lori (Tom) DeGrave, Green Bay; three step-children, Mike (Mary) King, Arizona, Jan Dolan, Virginia, Jeanne (Dave) Gibson, Green Bay; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hintz, Green Bay, Phyllis Lambert, Green Bay.

Margaret Mary Kowalski
Margaret Mary Kowalski, 96, died peacefully in her sleep on May 3, 2004. Her remarkable journey through life began January 16, 1908, when she was born to Eleanor (Husse) and Anton Pilger in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She married Bernard Kowalski on August 21, 1926. Bernard died in 1979 while they were living in California.

Margaret's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a dearly loved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a real zest for life, a sunny attitude, a delightful sense of humor, was forever young in looks and thoughts, and baked the best kolaches this side of Bohemia. She also was an avid "t.v." Packers fan, got a kick out of the Lambeau Leap, and was thrilled when they went to the Super Bowl. Friendships were so precious to her. She loved playing bridge and sheepshead with friends at the De Pere and Allouez Senior Centers and played fiercely competitive games of Scrabble and rummy with family members. She liked to read, sew, cook, bake, crochet, knit and do crafts of all sorts. Margaret was a member of Resurrection Parish.

Margaret is survived by her children Robert Kowalski, Boynton Beach, Florida and Boone, North Carolina; Jane Warren, Allouez; and Susan Harpt, Allouez; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, Lynn and Terry Reynolds and daughter Courtney, Juneau; Kerry and Bill Wicks and children, Sarah, Cayce, Morgan, and Garrett, Miami, Fla.; Susan and Jim Harju, Green Bay; Steve Harpt, Botswana, Africa; Lisa and Randy Voda and children Elizabeth Voda and Emily and Adam Kaufmann, Manitowoc; Kathryn and Matthew Brinkman and children Joshua, Katie, and Caleb, Cottage Grove, Minn.; Jeff Harpt and children Benjamin and Sophie, Green Bay; Sara and Jon Medo and their children Nicholas and Abigail, Fishers, Indiana ; sisters-in-law Caroline Kowalski, Manitowoc and Arlene Kowalski, Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, her son-in-law Elton Harpt; her sisters and their spouses, Blanche Benesh, Alice Hudon, Rose Warren, Eleanor Paulson and Mae Mueller; and brothers and their spouses, Michael, Frank and Charles Pilger; sister-in-law Elsie Nelson; and brothers-in-law Ervin, Harry, Raymond and Joseph Kowalski.

Visitation will be at Resurrection Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, Green Bay on Thursday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Proko-Wall Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. A memorial fund is being established in Margaret's name.

Arnold Andreas Schwartz
Arnold Andreas Schwartz, age 90, a Green Bay resident, passed away peacefully at his foster son's home on Tuesday, April 20, 2004.

Arnold was born on December 17, 1913, in the Preble area, son of the late Andrew and Caroline (nee Wagner) Schwartz. Arnold was reborn as a child of God, through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, on January 4, 1914, at First Ev. Lutheran Church, Green Bay. Arnold confessed the truths of this Christian faith at his confirmation on May 27, 1928. Arnold was reinstated as a member of First in 1949, and remained a member ever since.

Arnold is survived by special friend, Lorraine W.E. Seifert, Valders; special foster sisters and brothers-in-law, Don and Jeanette Rommel, Green Bay foster sister, Billie VerKuilen, Rockford, Ill; foster daughter, Lucille M. Pipping, Thornton, Colo.; Dr. David and Donna Hahm, Dublin, Ohio. Arnold is also survived by a foster son, Dennis Kenneth Seifert, with whom he made his home in Green Bay; foster daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Thomas Charlier, Kewaunee, foster grandchildren, Ami and Jerry Gracyalny, Roxanne and Thomas Styczynski, Melanie and Richard Scheuerle, Dr. Geoffrey and Missy, Christopher Hahm; Lisa and Chris, Ryan Robertson; Adam, Ryan and Lyssa Seifert; Ian and Joelle, Jennifer Pipping; great-grandchildren, Sadi, Trey, Anikan, Raina, Brennan, Trenton, Savannah, Shannell, Sebastian, Dakota, Gretchen, Lydia, Rebekah, Richard, Emelie, Anna, Grace, Ashleigh, Christian, Alexia, Olivia; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Del Brosig, Green Bay, Jack Neuser, Green Bay, Bill and Doris Rommel, Green Bay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster brother, Kenneth Seifert; foster son, Garth Seifert; brothers, sisters and other nieces and nephews.

Services were held at an earlier date.
