Evelyn Cornelius
Evelyn Cornelius, 93, of Green Bay, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at a local nursing home. The daughter of the late Alfred and Libbie (Archiquette) Powless was born September 27, 1913, in Oneida. She married Andrew Powless in Waukegan, Ill., in 1968. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1990. Evelyn was an LPN in St. Louis, Milwaukee and Brown County. She was a very social community member and belonged to the Oneida VFW Auxiliary, the Dodo Club and was a volunteer at the Oneida Senior Center and the Oneida Elderly Board. Mrs. Cornelius had a compassionate way of giving to life, was a foster grandparent and had a passion for Angels.
Survivors include her son, Victor Reyes, Oneida and one granddaughter, Felicia Bernhardt, Kenosha. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margarita Elm, two sisters, Jane Ninham and Bernice Belcher, five brothers, Warren, William, Vernon, Richard and Josiah.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. Tenth St. , De Pere, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today). Oneida Indian Hymn Singing will begin at 6:30 p.m. VFW Auxiliary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 12 noon Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Assembly of God Church, Oneida, until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Lonnie Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Fred J. Gerondale
Fred J. Gerondale, 75, Suamico, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2004 at a local hospital after a short illness. Fred was born Dec. 2, 1928 in Union Township, Wis.,to the late Frank and Elizabeth "Libbie" (Tebon) Gerondale. He served with the Merchant Marines from 1945-1947. On June 26, 1982, he married Carol J. Weycker in Suamico. Fred lived 23 years in Suamico and worked as an outstanding baker until he retired in 2003. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating spending time at the cottage, watching and feeding the birds, and his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, Suamico; his children: Fred D. (Kathie) Gerondale; Cindy (Michael) Steeno, all of Green Bay; Connie (Phil) Bruner, Lt. Chute; Thomas (Debbie) Gerondale, New Franken; their mother, Armella Gerondale, Green Bay; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Joyce) Gerondale, Green Bay; Darrel (Della) Gerondale, Ohio; one sister, Esther (Norbert) Jeanquart, Brussels; brothers and sisters-in-law: Alice Gerondale, Three Lakes; Glen (Sharon) Weycker, Abrams; Roger Magnuson, Howard. He is further survived by several special nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog, Jaxon.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Elmer Gerondale, mother-in-law, Mildred Weycker and sister-in-law, Darlene Magnuson.
The family will receive friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, Howard-Suamico Location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Thursday, July 22, from 3 until 7 p.m. Funeral Service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Harold J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.
Mrs. Melvin (Arbutus) Kimps
Mrs. Melvin (Arbutus) Kimps, 83, village of Howard, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born August 16, 1920, to the late Charles and Emma (Anderson) Wilson in Green Bay. On November 11, 1939, she married Melvin Kimps at St. John the Baptist Church; he preceded her in death September 8, 1995. Arbutus was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Lois Kimps, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Deau, Little Suamico; Michelle Kimps, Green Bay and fiance Joseph Giese, Sherwood; and Dan (Melissa) Kimps, Wausau; four great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Jennifer Deau and Hannah and Hayden Kimps; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Merlin and Geraldine Kimps, Howard and Marie Poels, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Melvin, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Darwin, a great-granddaughter, Maggie Deau and a sister, Gloria.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue at Ridge Road,where the funeral service will take place at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Gregory Smith officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Malenia Baumgart
Malenia Baumgart, De Pere, 92, passed away Monday July 19, 2004, at a local nursing home. She was born December 31, 1911, in Hollandtown to the late John and Petronella (Van Lanen) Willems. On November 22, 1954, she was united in marriage to Daniel Baumgart. Dan preceded her in death on June 3, 1997. Malenia enjoyed spending time in her kitchen, whether it be cooking, baking or canning. She also liked to play cards with her family and friends. In their younger years Malenia and Dan liked to Square Dance. Malenia and Dan raised lambs at their home, "Little Bethlehem". They especially enjoyed the visits from the nieces and nephews, the neighbor children, and the school children who came to visit the lambs. Malenia worked for Eilers Cheese for many years, and seasonally at Larsen Canning. She was the Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order Of The Purple Heart. She and Dan were very active in the Wayside-Morrison Lions Club, and active members of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church De Pere.
Survivors include her sister in law, Angeline Baumgart, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, seven brothers, Martin, Henry, John, Bernard, Leonard, Aloysius, and William, three sisters, Alvira, Rosella, and her twin Hilaria. Members of Dan's family further preceded Malenia in death. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wedneday at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere. Parish Prayer service wilo be held at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. V. Anthony Dolski officiating. Gerald P. VanderLinden
Gerald P. VanderLinden, 64, Greenleaf, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at a Green Bay hospital.
He was born March 15, 1940, in the Town of Wrightstown to the late August and Frances Hoffman VanderLinden. Gerald married Sandra DeBroux November 21, 1959, at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church, Green Bay. He was a dairy farmer and since 1988 he was employed by the City of Brillion. Gerald loved to garden, spend time fishing and attending Timber Rattlers ball games with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Terri VanderLinden, Greenleaf; two daughters, Veronica VanderLinden, Greenleaf; Shari VanderLinden, Kaukauna; nine grandchildren, Leann Geiger, Tyler Kratz, Matthew VanderLinden, Jerry Geiger, Ralph Geiger, III, Sarah VanderLinden, Michael VanderLinden, Dawn Geiger and Christine VanderLinden; brothers and sisters, Grace Calaway, Donald and Donna VanderLinden, Carl and Ann VanderLinden, Mary and Richard Rottier, Kenneth VanderLinden, Norbert and Sharon VanderLinden, Roger and Jeannie VanderLinden, Richard and Julaine VanderLinden and Rose Kramer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Tina DeBroux; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Helen DeBroux.
