Garry B. Fritz
Garry B. Fritz, age 54, longtime prominent University of Oregon architect, died suddenly and unexpectedly of cardiac arrest June 9, 2004 in Eugene, Oregon. He married Green Bay native, Terri Warpinski, who is Vice Provost of Academic Affairs at the U of O, December 21, 2001.

A gentle man and a gentleman, eulogized for his calm, laid-back style, professionalism and dedication, he will be truly missed by his colleagues, family and friends. A man of many interests and talents, he loved traveling, gourmet cooking, sailing, woodworking, collection and restoring antique rungs, clock making, photography and crosswords. Garry and Terri's art is currently being shown at Jacob's Gallery in Eugene as part of the Art in the Family exhibit. It is Garry's first public exhibition of his photography.

He is survived by his wife, Terri; son Eric (Natalie) of Seattle; his mother, Elvada Fritz, of Roseburg, Oregon, and a large extended family.

His first wife, Angela; his father; one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

A memorial mass was held June 12 at St. Thomas More Newman Center with private Inurnment following. A celebration of his life will be held later this summer on the university campus among many of the buildings that were his projects. Memorial contributions may be made to the Garry B. Fritz Memorial Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation, 401 E. 10th St., Suite 240, Eugene, OR 97401.

Elaine Mary Powers
Elaine Mary Powers, 74, lifelong Green Bay resident, died peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her family Monday, June 28, 2004. She was born March 24, 1930, to Elmer and Helen (Hoebreckx) Barrette. She was a 1948 graduate of Green Bay West High School. Elaine married Michel J. Powers on August 26, 1950, at Annunciation Catholic Church. She retired from KI in 1992 after 25 years of service.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; three sons and their spouses, William and Susan Powers, Timothy and Rebecca Powers, Christopher Powers; four grandchildren, Chase, Lauren, Michelle and Krista Powers; two sisters, Laverne VanderGeeten, Lucille Dennis; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Lamberg, Kathryn Neveu and Micky Powers. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at St. Jude Catholic Church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

Ryan A. Treml
Ryan A. Treml, 20, Denmark. Visitation 3-7 p.m. today at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Couty R, Denmark. Celebration of life 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his father, David Treml, his mother, Lisa Jurczykowski; one son, Austin Matthew; two brothers, Jeremy and Daniel; grandparents, Robert and June Treml, Kewaunee, Judy Jurczykowski, Denmark; great-grandmother, Maxine Nelson.

Alfred Van Ess
Alfred Van Ess, 87. Visitation 9:30-11 a.m. today at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 710 N. Baird St. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include his wife, Virgil; one daughter, Lois (Roger) Bader; three grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Marjorie) Vanness, Champion; one sister, Rita Strebel, Green Bay. Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., is assisting the family.

Patricia A. Blosser (Beno)
Patricia A. Blosser, 65, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm early Saturday morning June 26, 2004, surrounded by her family. She was born in Green Bay on March 17, 1939, daughter of the late Ernest "Tune" De Ruyter and Alma (Bain) De Ruyter, De Pere. In 1985 Pat married Harold Blosser who affectionately referred to her as "Beenie". Pat was a fun-loving person with a good heart and gentle spirit, always smiling and bubbly, friendly with everyone she met. Pat and Harold enjoyed sharing their time between their two homes one in Green Bay and the other in Sun City Center, Fla. Pat enjoyed reading, golfing, dancing, and walking her dog Buster. She was an avid Packers fan and loved going to all the games with her husband Harold. You could always pick Pat out in the stands with her loud cheering and Packer outfits on from hats to her beads, which she loved to wear. Pat was a member of the "Red Hats Society Club". She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, mother, brothers and sisters.

Pat is survived by her husband, Harold; three children, Steven Beno, La Crosse; Deb and (Michael) Guess and daughter Nicole, Jerseyville, Ill., step children, Adam and Brian Guess, step grandchildren, Anna and Natilie Guess; Brian and (Sue) Beno and daughter Ashley, Green Bay; her mother Alma De Ruyter; two step-children, Cindy and (Mike) Peot and sons Jacob and Jesse, Suamico; Rick Blosser (Kim Walinski) and daughter Abby and son Ashton, Suamico; four sisters, Becky Rottier, Seymour, Linda (Andy) Scannell, De Pere, Cindy De Ruyter, Boston, Mass., Dawn (Tom) Jensen, Green Bay, David (Gail) De Ruyter, De Pere, Dale (Sue) De Ruyter, Neenah, Dean (Tina) De Ruyter, Green Bay. Sister-in-law Loretta (Marv) Wulf , Franklin, and good friend Gracie Swagel .

Pat was preceded in death by her son Michael Beno and her father Ernest De Ruyter.

Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME De Pere from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:3 0a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Green Bay, corner of Ninth and 12th, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery De Pere.

Mary Kreisa
Mary Kreisa, 55, Green Bay. Visitation after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere. Memorial service 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, Phillip; a son, David Marshall; a daughter, Elizabeth Kreisa, her parents, Francis and Dorothy Baeten; her siblings, Jerry (Lisa) Baeten and Tom (Kelly) Baeten, and one granddaughter.

Gilbert A. Loppnow

Edwin H. Mancheski
Edwin H. Mancheski, 80, passed away Sunday at his home surrounded by his wife, Dorothy, and his six children. He died in peace after a short, valiant battle with cancer. Edwin was born in Denmark on October 18, 1923, son of the late Vincent and Mary (Holda) Mancheski. After attending Denmark High School, Edwin served 3 1/2 years in the military during World War II, first as a member of the Army Corps of Engineers, and then transferring to the Air Force. In the Air Force, Edwin was stationed in Guam and the Pacific Theatre, serving as a tail gunner on a B-29. As a young man, Edwin worked in the lumber business. Over the years, he was employed by Frank O. Zeize Construction until his retirement. Edwin married Dorothy Hamernik in Kellnersville on June 25, 1949. They were married for 55 wonderful years. Their pet names to each other were "Clark" and "Rita," for Clark Gable and Rita Hayworth. He was member of Local Engineers 139, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and for many years with his wife, a member of St. Philip Parish in Green Bay. "Ed" and "Dot" made many friends on their many bus trips in their golden years. Before that they enjoyed many good times with their children camping. Ed was an avid mechanic and you could always find him under a car retooling it. He loved to Polka and could dance with the best of them. Grilling outdoors was a favorite activity as well as planting flowers around his home. Ed had great humor and brightened up the room he was in with his corny jokes and bright smile. He went to the American Folklore Theater in Door County often to see his son perform. "Guys on Ice" became his favorite play. He enjoyed the occasional "Old Fashion" and always invited others to join him in a cocktail. He was a season ticket holder to the Packers and wore green and gold on game day proudly. He was a devoted father, extremely generous and an example of love and loyalty to wife and family. Ed was truly an inspiration and will continue to be.

Ed will be sadly missed by his wife Dorothy, their children Dr. Dean (Sandi) Mancheski, Sheboygan and their children Tony and Stacie, Diane (Pat) Noreika, Green Bay, Dale (Patti) Mancheski, Green Bay and their children D.J., Jeremy, Ryan and Travis, Doug Mancheski, Green Bay, Debbie (Matt) Ledvina, St. Paul, Minn., and their children Vincent and Grace Dorothy and Denise (Jen) Mancheski, Green Bay. He is further survived by three brothers, Felix (Donna) Mancheski, Denmark, Lawrence (Marge) Mancheski, Denmark and Ferdinand (Doris) Mancheski, Deerfield, and three sisters Gertrude Rabas, Denmark, Antoinette "Jean" Schoen, GB and Dorothy (Edward) Matulka, Dwight, Neb., sister-in-law Clara Mancheski, brother-in-law Warren Steinfeldt as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald and Leonard, one sister Anna Steinfeldt and two brothers-in-law Merle Schoen and Joseph Rabas.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home and Crematory, 1630 East Mason St., 468-4111 on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Parish Prayer service Tuesday at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the procession leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria Street, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express a thank you to Fr. Larry Canavera, Sr. Helen Keyzer and all the sisters at St. Philip's for all their prayers and support. Thank you as well to the many special friends who showed love and concern to the Mancheski family. Also thank you to the nurses and staff of Aurora Baycare Medical Center and VNA Hospice.

Jules "Fred" Neville
Jules "Fred" Neville, 65, Green Bay. Visitation 10 -11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf Catholic Church, Eau Claire. Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Susan; a son, Christopher (Kathy) Neville, Black River Falls, three daughters, Amy (Gregg) Leonardson, Eau Claire, Cara (Tom) Schomisch, Eau Claire and Melissa (Aric) Bandi, Appleton; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Earl (Helen) Neville, Green Bay and Chuck Neville, Algoma; and a sister, Mary (Werner) Hildebrand, Boulder Junction. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services, Eau Claire, assisting the family.

Helen K. Rondou
Helen K. Rondou, 96, Green Bay. Visitation after 9:30 a.m. today at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Gene) Mailhiot, Green Bay; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Alyce Selsmeyer
Alyce Selsmeyer, 86, of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at a local nursing home.

Alyce was born on June 2, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wis., to the late John and Anna (Ehr) Kiley. On November 27, 193,7 she married Wilfred Selsmeyer at St. John's Parsonage in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1979.

Alyce was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was a master cribbage player and enjoyed taking your money after a good hand.

Surivors include her children: Bill (Barbara) Selsmeyer, Howard; Gary (Denise) Selsmeyer, Neenah; Fred (Cheryl) Selsmeyer, Suamico; Sandy (Don) Adler, Howard; Kathy (Dennis) Verhaagh, Allouez; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Margaret Foss, Green Bay; Virginia Teweles, Milwaukee and sister-in-law Shirley (Bill) Truttmann, Laona.

Alyce was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends at St. John the Baptist Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., village of Howard on Tuesday, June 29, from 9 until 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Howard. Michael H. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.

The family wishes to thank all of Alyce's old neighbors in Howard for the fond memories Alyce had of them while raising her family. Plus a special thank you to the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home for their gentle care during Alyce's last days.
