Gladys (Beirl) Blahnik, 58, Luxemburg. Visitation after 10 a.m. today at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 11 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include her mother, Irene Beirl, a brother, Roger (Rosemary) Beirl, Green Bay, five sisters, Ethel (Richard) Gross, Gren Bay, Carol (Lyle) Dequaine, Greenleaf, Joyce Mahlik, Lakewood, Mary LeCloux, Green Bay and Bonnie (Orville) Swagel, Champion; and a stepdaughter, Linda (Bill) Van Goethem, Luxemburg. Robert E. Johnston M.D.
Dr. Robert E. Johnston, 81, Green Bay peacefully went to be with the Lord with his children surrounding him early Saturday evening, February 12, 2005. at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born June 7, 1923, in Minerva, Ohio, to Edgar and Valoise Johnston. He is survived by his sisters Betty and Vivian, and brother Don.
Robert (Bob) married Dolores, his loving wife of 50 years, in 1950.
During his lifetime, Bob was an Eagle Scout and Cub Scout Master. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He served in the 69th and 29th Infantry Divisions in Europe during WWII. During his service, he was on the Army boxing team and the champion European basketball team.
Bob obtained his medical degree from Ohio State University in 1954 and also served as graduate instructor in the Biochemistry Department at Ohio State. He served his internship and residency, and was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Youngstown Hospital. Following this, Bob served a research fellowship with Eli Lilly in Indiana
polis. Bob began his Internal Medicine practice in Green Bay in 1958. He served as Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Departments of Medicine at St. Mary's, St. Vincent, and Bellin Hospitals in Green Bay. He co-founded the Free Clinic in Green Bay. He loved the practice of medicine, working with his co-workers and serving his patients. Bob considered it a privilege to be part of his patients' lives.
The most important part of Bob's life was his family. He enjoyed sharing time on the trout streams, fly fishing with his sons and friends, and enjoying the outdoors with his family. He was a loving and supportive role model for his family and all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his sons Mark and Kirk, daughter Chris, his six granddaughters, and his dog, Benji. Bob is deeply loved by his family and he will be greatly missed. We are rejoicing that Dad is once again reunited with our mother Dolores.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar; mother, Valoise; two brothers, Darrell and Richard; and his wife, Dolores. A memorial service will take place at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2911 Libal St., Green Bay on Wednesday, February 16, 2005. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a memorial service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with Pastor Luther Swenson officiating. A luncheon will be provided following the memorial service. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Bob and his family wish to thank Doctors Fenster and Sandmire, the nurses, and the hospital staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their dedicated care and support.

Adams St. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include her fiance, Brian Yonker; their twins, Ethan and Gavon, her parents, Mark Michiles and September Marino; and two brothers, Rick Wery Jr. and James Michiles.
Alice Margaret (Friess) Scovell
Alice Margaret (Friess) Scovell, 87, of Green Bay, died Saturday, February 12, 2005, at her home. Alice was born to the late Irving and Amelia (Albrecht) Friess on November 23, 1917, in Channing, Mich., the third of four sisters. In January 1943, she married Richard Copeland Scovell. Alice and Richard have four children, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many whose lives she touched in her long career as a medical technician with Dr. Darel Angus and as a volunteer at St. Patrick Parish, Green Bay.
Survivors include her four children and their spouses, John and Cheri Scovell, Denmark; Susan and Jack Watson, Brookfield; James and Lee Anne Scovell, Green Bay and Mary Scovell, Milwaukee; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly Scovell, Jeff (Joanie) Scovell, Lisa (Brian) Merkel, Tim Scovell and his fiance Cheryl, Dan (Jalene) Scovell, Dana Mitchell, Joseph Scovell, Jeremy (Sarah) Muraski, Jennifer Scovell, Anna Scovell and her fiance Nathan Hemming, Kathrin Scovell, Emily, Elizabeth and Victoria Watson; her great grandchildren, Zach and Alyssa Scovell, Jake, Sam and Alana Schneider, Adam Krumenauer, Dayna, Josie and Jared Lansing and Brooke Muraski, a sister, Jean Canney; many nieces, nephews and friends and Maggie, her beloved canine companion.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Scovell, a grandson, Andrew Scovell and two sisters, Edith Steil and Rita Fonferek and an infant brother.
Friends may call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple St. from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to all of Alice's neighbors who have kindly shoveled snow, cut grass and looked after her welfare with compassion and generosity that went beyond being a good neighbor. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting her family with arrangements.
