Iris C. Thiele
Iris C. Thiele, 72, De Pere, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005, at a local nursing home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 27, 1932 in Luxemburg, daughter to the late Harvey and Agnes (Hermans) Luedtke. She graduted from Luxemburg High School and attended business college for two years. She married Virgil Thiele in 1953 at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Iris was employed as a cashier at Bellin Hospital for over 35 years. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Iris enjoyed playing cards, fishing, needlework, crafts, and bowling.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil, De Pere; two children, Randy (Debbie) Thiele, De Pere, and Sue (Steve) Ruby, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Jeremy (fiance-Carolyn) Ruby, Kenosha, Candace Ruby, Green Bay, Trisha (Jake) Van De Hei, De Pere, and Benjamin Thiele, De Pere; one brother, Roger (Arlene) Luedtke, Luxemburg.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may call Tuesday, March 29, 2005, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. Visitiaton will continue on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Atonement Lutheran Church, 2132 Deckner Ave., Green Bay. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at church, with Pastor Richard Schmeling officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Rita A. Younkle, 88, Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today and prior to the funeral Tuesday at Malcore Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, University Avenue at Baird Street. Survivors include her son, Wayne (Mary Ann) Younkle, Green Bay; two grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy (Margaret) Vandenbusch, Green Bay, and Michael (Marty) Vandenbusch, Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Muriel brammer and Carol Vandenbusch.

Anthony "Tony" R. Gaschler
Anthony "Tony" R. Gaschler, 33, Green Bay. Survivors include his parents, Betty (Reg) Reinke, Appleton and Tony (Vicki) Gaschler, Shiocton; two sisters, Michelle (Russ) Henry, Black Creek and Jen (Frank) Calabrese, Shiocton. Visitation after 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Stephensville. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Borchardt and Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton, is assisting the family.

Gertrude M. Korpal
Gertrude M. Korpal, 85, a Green Bay resident, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Woodside Lutheran Home. Gertrude was born December 8, 1919, in West Allis, Wis., daughter of the late John and Madeline (Ignasiak) Kaminski. She married Joseph Korpal on July 5, 1941, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1997.

Gertrude was very active in her church and school organization, such as the Christian Mothers at Sts Peter and Paul and the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society at St. Bernard's. After retirement, Gertrude and Joseph loved to travel and lived in Hudson, Fla., for 17 years. Gertrude enjoyed oil painting, crocheting and was very musical, playing the piano and organ. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.

Survivors include her children; Carol (Robert) Schuld, Mary Teebo, Jack (Denise) Korpal and Chris (special friend Debbie Smith) Korpal, all of Green Bay, 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by one daughter Barbara Nemitz and one brother Herbert Kaminski.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home & Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St., on Sunday, March 27, 2005, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a parish wake service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Gladys Elizabeth Rank, 86, Allouez. Private funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at Wendt Funeral Home, Bonduel. Survivors include her son, Stephen G. Nault, Amberg; a brother, Dale (MaryAnn) Dettman, Green Bay and Apache Junction, Ariz.; three granddaughters and a great-grandson.

Helen Spaude, 86, Seymour. Visitation after 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Seymour. Funeral 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family.

J. Adeline Boettcher
J. Adeline Boettcher, nee Poirier, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Grancare Nursing Home. She was born on December 12, 1909, in Fish Creek to the late John B.N. and Bessie (Graham) Poirier. She graduated from Greenwood High School and Door County Normal School. Adeline married the late Harold H. Boettcher in Green Bay, Wis., on October 23, 1935. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1976. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and active in the Ladies Aid and School Club and Nicolet School PTA.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-laws, Dorothy and Lee Treptow, Green Bay, Kathleen and David Pelow, Gillett, Susan and William Eleazer, Silva, N.C., Kris Husby and her fiance Ranny Nelson, Jacksonport, Wis.; three sons and daughters-in-laws, Jim and Pat Boettcher, Green Bay, Doug and Phyllis Boettcher, De Pere, Fred and Karen Boettcher, Hudson, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granchildren; she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, one son and daughter-in-law Ralph and Shirley Boettcher, two brothers, five sisters and one son-in-law, Peter Husby.

Family and friends may call on Monday, March 28, 2005, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 514 S. Clay St. Funeral service 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Roy Rose officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home (432-4841) is assisting the family.

Mabel L. (Van Eyck) De Groot, 89, Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., and prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 710 N. Baird St.

John R. Gillespie, 80, Reno, Nev., formerly of Manitowoc.

Mathilda "Tillie" Schultz Hermes
Mathilda "Tillie" Schultz Hermes, 91, Green Bay. Visitation noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Nickel Funeral Home, 7101 Morrison Road, Morrison. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Donald E. Kivisto
Donald E. Kivisto, 75, of Green Bay died Wednesday, March 23, 2005. He was born October 27, 1929, in Crosby, Minn., to the late Matti and Elvira Kivisto. Donald married Anita M. Best on November 24, 1951. They enjoyed 54 years of togetherness and love. He worked for many years with International Harvester selling trucks and he enjoyed getting together with all of his former co-workers after retirement. Don served in the U. S. Army as a company clerk during the Korean conflict, serving from 1948 to 1951. Don was a gentle man and a gentleman. Even though he suffered from a stroke in 2002 and continued to have circulatory problems, he never complained.

Don will be sadly missed by his wife, Anita; daughter, Debra L. (Rob) Weich II of Mequon; his five loving grandchildren, Alicia, RC III, Lewis, Marisa and Isabella Weich; three sisters-in-law, Muriel Kivisto, Vernette Kivisto and Marian Kivisto; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Norman, Vernon, Stanley and Art Kivisto and his sister, Joyce Weigelt.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 341 Wilson St., where the funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Ray Kotwicki officiating. Entombment will be in Ft. Howard Memorial Park. Lyndahl Funeral Home is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Ashok Rai and Dr. Elizabeth Tucker and the many caring nurses at St. Mary's Hospital ICU.

Mrs. Fran (Grace) Lasee
Mrs. Fran (Grace) Lasee, 83, De Pere, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon with her family by her side. She was born January 2, 1922, in Denmark, Wis., daughter to the late Edward and Caroline Sleger. Grace graduated from St. Joseph Academy. She was married to Fran Lasee at St. Mary's Church in De Pere by Fr. Hietpas on December 30, 1941. Grace worked at the Lee Store as a bookkeeper for 25 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community where she was involved with the Christian Ladies. She enjoyed her cottage, golfing, sewing and going out to dinner with friends and family. Grace also enjoyed going to breakfast with Lee Store retirees and to lunch with her Academy classmates.

Survivors include her loving husband, Fran, De Pere; children, Jean and Fran Van Remortel, De Pere, and Ron and Mary Lou Lasee, De Pere; eight grandchildren: Michele (John) Brock, Cathy (Trip) Jobe, Kurt (Joy) Van Remortel, Steve (Gail) Lasee, Mark (Jodi) Van Remortel, Scott (Lori) Lasee, Lisa (Steve) Effert, and Jon (Jamie) Lasee; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Schmidt, Round Lake, Ill., and Dorothy Roberts, Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Edward (Diane) Sleger, Kewaskum, and Brother Roman "Bob" Sleger, Oconto; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ann Carava.

Family and friends may call Monday, March 28, 2005, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, town of Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

The family extends a sincere thanks to Dr. Lemkuil and the staff at San Luis Nursing Home, especially Judy and Dan for their special care, and also to Fr. Jack Harper.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence; two daughters, Deb Vercauteren (John Zupanc), Penny (Jeff) Blom; one son, Jeff (Cookie) Vercauteren; four grandchildren; six sisters, Yvonne Kempen, Millie (Louie) Coenen, Elaine (Bob) Landskron, Grace (Lloyd) Huth, Janice (Erv) Coenen, Janet (Ralph) Klipstine.

Maeve Ann Winstin, infant. A private graveside service was held. Survivors include her parents, Abe and Tami Winstin. Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere, assisted the family.

Jeanne Wussow
Jeanne Wussow, age 70, passed away Wednesday morning, March 23, 2005, at her home, with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 16, 1934, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Kelly) Sandersen. On June 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to David Wussow at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tenafly, N.J. She was employed for many years at Younkers in Green Bay and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Cty. Rd. U, Green Bay.

She is survived by her husband, David; her children: Jeffrey (Pam) Wussow, Green Bay; Clifford Wussow, Todd Wussow, both of Pulaski; Tina (Robert) Tomashek, Howard; her three grandchildren: Jeremy (Christine), Andrea and Collin; three great-grandchildren: Morgan, Kelsey and Jasmine; also, one sister Carol (Peter) Hamma, Mystic Mountain, Pa.; and one brother, Robert Sandersen, New Jersey.

Friends may call at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 Cty. Rd. U, Green Bay (1/2 mi. N of Hwy 29, west of Green Bay) from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2005. The funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Don Beherendt officiating. The entombment will be at the Allouez Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
