Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. Survivors include his wife, Pat; seven children, James Courtney, Lorraine Stalter, Lloyd Courtney Jr., Mary Schram, John Courtney, Tim Courtney, Adam Courtney, stepson, Butch Sarasin; two sisters, Ruby Godfrey, Ollie Verrier.
Josephine McNally
Josephine McNally, 78, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born in New York City on November 9, 1926, to the late Carlo and Mary (Rand) Lentini. She was a retired library secretary for the Green Bay Public Schools. Josephine enjoyed volunteering at the CP Center, Aurora Hospital, American Red Cross and with registration during voting season.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandy McNally, Green Bay; one son, David (Tara) McNally, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Brooke and Zach; two brothers, Sal Lentini, North Carolina, and Carmine Lentini, Long Island, N.Y.; further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and one nephew.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 (TODAY), at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home (432-4841), 340 S. Monroe Ave. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Prayer Service, 10 a.m. at Shrine Of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, on Thursday, March 17, 2005, with Msgr. Klauck officiating.

Ruth Clusen
Ruth Clusen, 82, Green Bay, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2005, at Harbor House in Bellevue. She was born on June 11, 1922, in Bruce, Wis., to the late Elmer and Ruth (Breed) Chickering. She was a graduate of Eau Claire High School and UW-Eau Claire with a degree in education, where she also was a champion national debater. On August 11, 1945, she married Donald Clusen in Waukesha. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Ruth was a secondary schoolteacher in Wisconsin and Montana.
She was Green Bay/DePere president of the League of Women Voters, followed by terms as Wisconsin President of the LWV, and President of the League of Women Voters of the United States. Under her leadership the League initiated and sponsored the 1976 Presidential Debates. During this time she developed an expertise on environmental issues. Ruth's activities in civil and women's topics prompted her selection in 1975 as a member of the U.S. delegation to the World Conference for International Women's Year. She traveled to Europe and Asia under the sponsorship of the U.S. Information Agency to speak on the role of women in American politics. Under President Carter, Ruth served as Assistant Secretary for the Environment for the U.S. Department of Energy from 1978 to 1981. She earned many prestigious national awards including honorary doctorates from Colgate University, Wayne State University, and St. Mary's, South Bend, Ind. In 1977 she was honored as Woman of the Year for politics and government by the Ladies Home Journal and in 1978 was named International Conservationist of the Year by the National Wildlife Federation. She was the unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Congress for the 8th District seat in 1982. From 1983 to 1992, Ruth served on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents. Ruth was inducted into the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame in 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Kathryn Clusen, Milwaukee, Elizabeth (James) Joannes, Green Bay; four grandchildren, Christine LeClair, Jennifer LeClair, Michael Joannes and Christopher Joannes; one aunt, Marion Surbaugh; one niece, Lynn Ivey; special relatives Doug Chickering and Sharon Potter.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruth Chickering, and one brother, Kenneth Chickering. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 17, 2005, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave. Visitation also at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2005, at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe St. Internment at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Homer E. Holl Jr. 63, Suamico, passed away Tuesday morning, March 15, 2005, at a local hospital. Born on November 16, 1941, in Suamico, he is the son of Dorothy (Blondheif) Holl and the late Homer E. Holl, Sr. He married the former Marline Willette in Suamico.
