Survivors include two sons, Lee (Maxine) Beach, Green Bay, Larry (Carole) Beach, Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Alberta (Jack) Hogue, Texas; her first husband, Rex Beach, Gulfport, Miss.

Dennis J. Thiry
Dennis J. Thiry, 53, Green Bay resident, died Monday, February 28, 2005, in a Madison hospital. He was born February 20, 1952, in Green Bay to Louis and Loretta (Dhuey) Thiry. Dennis attended Preble High School, graduating in 1970. Following high school he served in the Army National Guard Reserves for six years. On September 9, 1972, Dennis married the former Mary Nelson at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Dennis was employed for over 34 years at Fort Howard Paper Company, now Georgia-Pacific, as a supervisor. Dennis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and hunting with the boys. He loved being at the cottage and fishing off the dock with his grandchildren. Family trips were a big part of his life and he also enjoyed a round of golf with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Mary and their three children, Jim (Cindy) Thiry, Shelly (Chad) Robinson, Scott Thiry, all of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Amanda, Emily and Rachel Thiry; Andrew and Riley Robinson; two step grandchildren, Michael and Steven Spears; his parents, Louis and Loretta Thiry, Green Bay; three sisters, Linda (Richard) Abraham, Oneida; Julie (Gary) Franke; Terri (Ken) Ropson, all of Green Bay; one brother, Steve (Edie) Thiry, Milwaukee; his mother-in-law, Georgia Nelson, Green Bay; one brother-in-law, Jim (Lori) Nelson, Suamico; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother and his father-in-law, Victor Nelson.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home & Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. There will not be any visitation on Friday. Private services will be held at Nicolet Memorial Gardens with entombment to follow. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com/obit.

DennisŐ family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Timmons and his staff at Cardiology Associates, Dr. Sweitzer and everyone associated with the transplant unit at University Hospital in Madison. Their care and compassion will never be forgotten.

Alice J. Stevens
Alice J. Stevens, 96, Allouez, passed away Friday, February 25, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born December 22, 1908, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter to the late Joseph H. and Henrietta (Tichbourne) Stevens, and graduated from high school in Hurley, Wis.. As a kindergarten teacher she taught forty-two years in Medford, Marinette, Superior and Green Bay. Alice attended the New York School of Interior Decoration and received her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Alice also worked at B.A. Altman, 5th Ave, New York City, and St. Norbert College. She was a charter faculty member of the Green Bay "Head Start" program. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary Education Society, Union Congregational Church and the Women's Fellowship groups, Wisconsin Teacher's Retirement Association and the Brown County Retired Teacher's group.

A sister, Ruth (Stevens) Schneeberger of Lansing, Mich., as well as numerous nieces and nephews survive Alice. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Glenn H., Clyde J., Thomas H.E., and Donald T.; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Holland and Mrs. Mary Volpitto.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005, at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, Mich. Memorials may be directed to Union Congregational Church, 716 S. Madison St., Green Bay, WI 54301, or to your local Head Start program. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.

William Erwin Elting

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. — William Erwin Elting, 73, of West Chester and Kennett Square, Pa., died at Kendal's Westmoreland Unit, Kennett Square, Pa., on Friday, March 30, 2001, after a prolonged illness. He was the husband of Virginia R. (Ginger) Elting, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.

Bill was born in Columbia, Missouri, the son of the late Erwin C. and Virginia Boswell Elting. He earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md. in 1950, and was a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1945-46.

In 1985, Mr. Elting retired from the E.I. duPont & Co. following 35 years of service that moved his family from Woodstown, N.J. to, Ashland, Denver, Colo., Memphis, Tenn. and eventually back to West Chester. Much of his time at DuPont was spent in the Explosives Department, including assignments as plant manager at the Louviers Works in Denver, the Memphis plant and Rapauno Works in Gibbstown, N.J. After retirement, he continued to consult as a member of DuPont's Safety Management Team.

Bill served as an active elder of the Kennett Presbyterian Church, and was most recently a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of West Chester. He was also previously on the administrative Board of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to Ginger are their five children: John Elting of Kent, Ohio, Buff Elting/Rubino of Boulder, Colo., Jeanne Simmons of Memphis, Tenn., Lisa Ellis of Knoxville, Tenn., Doug Elting of Longmont, Colo., and 11 grandchildren who continue to celebrate life with loving memories of their Dad.

He shared his passion for golfing, (especially in Scotland) and fine woodworking with his sons and many friends, and his involvement with the United Way in a number of the communities he lived in.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church of West Chester, Pa.

Interment will be held privately at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodnown, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, Florida, 33136-1494, the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 West Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA 19382 or the Balmoral Presbyterian Church, 6413 Quince Rd., Memphis, TN 38119.
