Christine Davis, 51, of Rural Juda, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Services will be Wednesday at 11 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Monroe, where friends may call Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial in Union Hill Cemetery at Oakley. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Lupus Foundation of America, or the Apostolate To The Handicapped. Christine was born in 1949 in Portage, the daughter of Floyd and vivian Achterberg. She was a 1967 Monroe High School graduate, and worked for the Monroe Clinic, Moore Business Forms, 18 years for Dorman Cheese and for the past seven years at the Swiss Colony. She married Jim Davis in 1976. Survivors include her husband; a daughter Tina Foesch of Monroe; five grandchildren; two sisters Karen DeKlever of Catawba, North Carolina and Thea Buholzer of Monroe; two step children Gidget Anderson of Brodhead and Joey Davis of Green Bay; a step brother Robert Schmidt of Salem, WI.; a step sister Arlene Runkle of Burlington and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1970 and her mother in 1966; step father Alfred Schmidt in 1999 and a brother Lawrence Achtergerg in 1982.

Mrs. Hilda Duerst, 90, of New Glarus, died Sunday at the New Glarus Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Duerst will be Wednesday at 11 am at the Swiss United Church of Christ. Friends may call at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home Tuesday evening 4-8 pm. Burial will be in the Swiss Church Cemetery. Hilda was born in 1910 in New Glarus, the daughter of Albert and Mary Legler. She graduated from New Glarus High School in 1928, and that year, married Gilbert Duerst. The couple farmed for many years and then owned and operated the A & W in New Glarus. Survivors include three sons Lloyd of Rockford, Gerald of Durand and Nathan of Madison; a daughter Phyllis Foster of New Glarus; a sister Alma Zentner of New Glarus; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, a great grandson Wesley Foster and a sister Florence Hoesly.

Frank Klarer, 80, of Monroe, died Friday at his home. A memorial mass for Frank Klarer will be Thursday night at 7:30 at St. Victor's Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Monroe at a later time. The Steil-Camacho Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the family. Frank was born in 1920 in Switzerland. He migrated to America with his parents at the age of two to Jordan Cemter. He attended St. Victor's School and Monroe High School. He was a mail carrier for 33 years in Madison, St. Paul, Minnesota, and in Browntown. Survivors include his wife Arloa; his children Nancy Klarer of Columbus, Ohio; Dennis Klarer of Monroe; Mary Jo Hendrikson of Bonfield, Ill.; a grandson Scott Klarer of Monroe; five brothers and sisters Agnes Kammer of Madison, John Klarer of New Jersey, Marie Hertel of Vista, California; Katherine Neumann of Finley, Ohio; Emil Klarer of Monroe; and many nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ellen Stauffer, 102, of New Glarus, formerly of Monticello, died Tuesday at the New Glarus Home. Services will be Friday at 11 am at the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, where friends may call Friday 10 am until time of services. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established for the church or the New Glarus Home. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home is serving the family. Ellen was born in 1900 in New Glarus Township, the daughter of Jacob and Elsbeth Ott. She married Chris Stauffer in 1921. She entered the New Glarus Home in 1992. Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Ruth Leach in 2001, a brother Alvin Ott and a sister Alda Kubly.

Bernice Babler, 93, of Monticello, died December 22 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 am at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, where friends may call Saturday 10 am until time of services. Memorials may be made to the Zwingli Church, to First United Church of Christ in Belleville, or to cancer research. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home is serving the family.

Carl Jensen, 86, of Monroe, formerly of Clarno Township, died Wednesday at the Monroe Manor. Services will be Saturday at 1:30 at the Monroe Bible Church. Friends may call at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Monroe Friday night 4-8 pm. Burial will be in East Clarno Church Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established. Carl was born in 1915 in rural Orangeville, the son of Soren and Adella Jensen. He married Ruth Timm in 1938, and she died in 1983. He then married Dorothy Disch in 1984. He was a dairy farmer in Clarno Township for many years, did custom work during harvest time and worked for R & R Implement of Brodhead until his retirement. He served as Clarno Town Chairman and as a Green County Board member for 27 years. Survivors include his wife Dorothy; two daughters Carol Janney of Tucscon and Barbara Brunner of Monroe; a granddaughter Jennifer Disch; a great granddaughter Brittany Disch, all of Monroe; a step daughter Susan Reiss of Madison; step son Dennis Disch of Milwaukee; a brother Howard of Freeport; three sisters Frances Hull of Monroe, Pauline Schulz of Brodhead and Alice Rabe of Orangeville; and two sisters in law Dorothy Jensen of Beloit and Irene Jensen of Brodhead. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters Elsie Cowell, Ruth Wachlin, Lottie Dwyer and Thyre Blasing and three brothers Clifford, Ranson and Theodore Jensen.

Kris Foulker, 34, of Monroe, died Tuesday of injuries received in an auto accident near Monticello. Services will be held Saturday at 1 pm at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, where friends may call Friday 4-8 pm. Family graveside services will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established. Kris was born in 1968 in Stoughton, the daughter of Robert and Carol Larsen. She was a 1986 Monroe High School graduate. She married Mark Foulker in 1988 at St. John's United Church of Christ. She worked for Moore Business Forms and currently was customer service representative for TDS Metrocom. Survivors include her husband; a son Kyle and daughter Emma, both at home; her mother Carol Flick of Monroe; her Father Robert Larsen of Janesville; sisters Tammy Jacobson of Monroe, and Marcia Kubly of Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota; many nieces and a nephew; father in law David Foulker of Streater, Ill.; and grandmother Fran Kubly of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her stepfather Marv Flick; mother in law Lee Foulker; maternal grandparents Ira and Grace Hoops and paternal grandparents Ira and Helen Larsen.

Mae Sophia Baebler, 99, of Belleville, died Wednesday at the New Glarus Home. Services will be Saturday at 11 am at Grace United Methodist Church in Belleville, where friends may call Saturday 10 am until time of services. Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery. The Becker-Beal Funeral Home is serving the family. Mae was born in 1902 in New Glarus Township, the daughter of George and Sarah Argue. She married Jacob Baebler in 1922. She graduated from Green County Normal School and taught in rural schools. Survivors include a daughter in law Betty Baebler of Dixon, Ill.; two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a special niece Jessiemae Hageman of Belleville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sons Bernard and Arthur; a grandson Randy; two brothers Henry and Arthur Argue and two sisters Edith Fischer and Harriet Argue.

Nathan Keegan, 79, of rural Monroe, died Wednesday at Monroe Clinic Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 am at St. Victor's Catholic Church. Friends may call at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home Friday evening 4-8 pm.. scripture service will be at 8 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Nathan was born in 1922 in Green County, the son of John and Anna Keegan. He married Lucy Conway in 1954, and farmed in Monroe Township all his life. Survivors include his wife; sons Larry, Eugene, Keith and Kevin, all of Monroe, Gary of New Glarus; a daughter Marilyn Rupnow of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; sisters Leona Kubly and Helen Severson, both of Monroe; and special friends of the family Rhonda Rast and children. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son David and a sister Eileen Deininger.

Murillia Hamilton, 86, of Monroe, formerly of Blanchardville, died Thursday night at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Services will be Monday at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville. Friends may call at the Saether Funeral Home Sunday 2-5 pm with a prayer service at 5 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Blanchardville.

Robert Gempler Sr., 81, of Belmont, died at his home Tuesday. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 am at St. Philomena Catholic Church at Belmont, where friends may call Saturday after 9 am. Burial will be at Belmont Cemetery. The Bendorf Funeral Home of Platteville is serving the family. Robert was born in 1921 near Barneveld, the son of Fred and Wilhelmena Gempler Sr. He married Ruth Fernstaedt in Monroe in 1941. He worked for Gardner Baking Co. in Madison for 24 years before retiring because of health reasons. Survivors include three children, Judy stephens of Belmont, Bob Gempler Jr. of Platteville and Greg Gempler of Belmont; 7 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters Mrs. Ann Pickett of Monroe, Mrs. Kathryn Phillips of Monroe and Mrs. Robert Klemm of Monroe; a sister in law Mrs. Florence Gempler of Hollandale and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister Margaret Cleary and four brothers Karl, Fred, Leo and August.

Gene Lowry, 58, of Monroe, died Monday. Services will be held Friday at 11 am at the Steil-Camacho Funeral Home in Monroe, where friends may call Friday 10 am until time of services. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery at Soldiers Grove. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care in Monroe. Gene was born in 1943, the son of Maurice and Julia Lowry. He lived in Monroe since 1971 and worked for the Department of Transportation in Madison. Survivors include a brother Wayne of San Jose, California; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard Hauser, 52, of New Glarus, died Tuesday at his home. Services will be Friday at 11 am at the Swiss United Church of Christ, where friends may call Friday from 9:30 am until time of services. A memorial fund has been established. The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home is serving the family. Richard was born in Monroe in 1950, the son of Raymond and Hilda Hauser. He was a 1968 New Glarus High School graduate and a 1973 graduate of UW-Platteville. He married Rebecca Moritz in 1973. The couple farmed on the family farm in New Glarus Township since 1973. Survivors include his wife; a son Nicholas of Bangor; two daughters Amanda Hannes of Seymour and Meredith of New Glarus; a brother Arlan Lewis of Shawano; two sisters Lou Ann Stadelman of Stockton and Mondy Shogren of Baraboo; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Lorraine Klitzke and his father in law Delbert Moritz.

Mrs. Mildred Frick, 92, of New Glarus, died Thursday at the New Glarus Home. Services will be Sunday at 2 pm at the Swiss United Church of Christ, where friends may call Sunday from 1 pm until time of services. Burial will be in Swiss Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Swiss Church building fund. The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home is serving the family. Mildred was born in 1910 in Twin Grove, the daughter of Herman and Mae Buchholtz. She married Sylvan Frick in 1929. She was with the Bank of New Glarus for over 30 years serving as teller and assistant cashier. After her retirement, she organized and entered research data at the UW school of nursing. Survivors include two daughters Karen Pridham of Madison and Elaine Meany of Ames, Iowa; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Bessie Schuler and a brother Rodney Buchholtz.

Andy Walton, 90, of Darlington, died Thursday at the Lafayette Manor. Services will be Monday at 11:30 am at the Steil-Camacho Funeral Home in Darlington, where friends may call Sunday 3-7 pm. Burial will be at Dawson Cemetery at Muscoda. Andy was born in 1912 in Gotham, the son of James and Martha Walton. He farmed in Richland County before moving to Darlington where he became known as the "can man". He married Violet Wilson in 1935 and she died in 1991. Survivors include his children Norma Ewing of Mazomanie, Betty Hole of Mineral Point, Arlene Lewis of Browntown and Judy Biasca of Mineral Point; a son in law Richard Creasey of Mineral Point; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Joan Creasey, a son in infancy and a granddaughter Jody in infancy.

Gavin Breadon, 29, of Dublin Ireland, formerly of Monroe, died of an apparent heart attack last Friday, October 4th at his home in Dublin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday Oct. 14th at 11 am at St. Victor's Catholic Church in Monroe. Friends may call at the Union Presbyterian Church in Monroe, a change of location, on Sunday from 3-8 pm, with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established in his name, or donations may be made to the Apostolate To The Handicapped. The Newcomer Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the family. Gavin was born in 1973 in Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Dr. George and Gabrielle Breadon. He was a 1991 graduate of Monroe High School. He was a graduate of Central College in Iowa. He was hired as the first Fitness Director for the Green County Family YMCA. He founded the Monroe Mat Rats youth wrestling program and also coached Monroe's freshmen football team. He was currently beginning the fourth year of medical school at the University College in Dublin. Surviving are his parents in Monroe; three brothers Eoin of Philadelphia, Enda of Atlanta and Desmond of Pella, Iowa; his godparents, aunts, uncles and cousins living in Ireland, and countless friends throughout the United States and Europe. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Joseph and Mary Breadon, maternal grandparents John and Marie O'Sullivan.

Guy Reasa, 82, of Monticello, passed away Saturday at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Family and friends will gather Tuesday 5-7 PM at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany, at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the Monticello Library. Survivors include: his wife, Carol of Monticello; a daughter, Catherine (Willis) Nipple of Albany; a son, Michael (Carol) Reasa of Brodhead; seven grandchildren; a greatgrandson; and a sister, Joyce (John) Trutman of Brodhead.

Leona M. Francis, 90, of Shullsburg, passed away Saturday at Memorial Hospital in Lafayette County in Darlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg, with Rev. James Lins officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday 4-8 PM at the O'Flahrity-Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg, where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 PM.

Mrs. John Edna M. Altmann, 88, of New Glarus, passed away Saturday at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 11 AM at the New Glarus Home Chapel. The Rev. Marlea Weber officiating, with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery in New Glarus. Relatives and Friends may call Monday 6-8 PM at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus. Survivors include: a daughter, Marlene (Herbert) Swingen of Mt. Horeb; a granddaughter: Sharon (Rick) Feiertag of Birchwood, WI.; an uncle: Ernest Lufi of New Glarus and many cousins.

Leslie Pinnow, 88, of Brodhead, died Friday at the New Glarus Home. Services will be Thursday at 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brodhead. Family and friends may call at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead Wednesday evening 5 to 8 pm, and at the church Thursday after 10 am. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Brodhead Area EMS. Leslie was born in 1914 in Rock Grove, Ill., the son of William and Anna Pinnow. He married Mary Green in 1939, and she died in 1996. Leslie farmed in Spring Grove Township and also had built homes with his brother Gene for many years. He was also a custodian at the former Green County Bank in Brodhead and served on the Board of Directors of Southern Wisconsin Co-op. Survivors include four sons Jerry of Perth, Australia, Lane of Cascade, Colorado, Richard of Racine and Mark of Janesville; a daughter Katherine Pinnow of Brodhead; four brothers Earl and Gene of Brodhead, Alfred of Beloit, and Charles of Orfordville; four sisters Ruth Wendler and Ann Wallace of Brodhead, Rosie Bliss of Bloomington, Ill., Eileen Capion of German Valley; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter Sara and a brother Roy.

Helen Englert, 88, of Monroe, died Thursday at Monroe Manor. Services will be Sunday at 5 pm at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, where friends may call Sunday 3 pm until time of services. Private burial will be at a later date. The Steil-Camacho Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the family. Helen was born in 1914 in Minnesota, the daughter of George and Ella Figge. She married Ruben Englert in 1944, and they raised their family in Villa Park, Ill. She was employed as an optometrist assistant until her retirement. Survivors include two daughters Sheila Verdone of Milwaukee, and Janine Schramm of Monroe; a son John of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters Lucille Feeney and Viola Fantar.

Raymond Munson, 59, of Blanchardville, died at his home Tuesday night. Services will be Sunday at 2 pm at the Saether Funeral Home, where family and friends may call Saturday evening 4-8 pm. Burial will be Monday at 1 pm at Pine Grove Cemetery at Wausau.
