Gary A. Bader, age 62, of Park Falls, WI died Wednesday April 18, 2001 at the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born June 13, 1938 in Kennan, WI the son of Harvey M. & Jeannette (Soeterbeer) Bader. His early life and schooling were in Kennan. He was a Graduate of the Phillips High School, the U. of W. Superior and the U. of W. Madison Law School. After graduating from law school he practiced law at a law firm in Madison. In 1964 he moved to Park Falls and established his own law firm. He married Helen (Vorpahl) Johnson on December 13, 1972 in Center City, MN. He was a avid hunter and fisherman.

His Wife Helen of Park Falls, WI

(1) Daughter- Sheri Sterletske of Valders, WI and

(1) Son- Jeremy (Paula) Bader of Victoria, TX

(1) Step-Son- James (Darlene) Johnson of Park Falls, WI

(5) Grandchildren and (6) Step-Grandchildren

(3) Children from a previous marriage to Judith Kirmse, Kelly Poenitsch, Darla Bader and Craig Bader

His Parents- Harvey M. & Jeanette Bader of Catawba, WI

He was preceded in death by (1) Great-Grandson Cameron Cobb

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 21, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. from the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel in Park Falls, WI with Father James Jackson officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 21, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls, WI

John N. Baker age 83 of Park Falls died Wednesday October 4, 2000 at the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, WI. He was born July 26, 1917 in Osage, IA the son of George & Delia (Lee) Baker. He moved to Kennan, WI at an early age were he attended school. He then worked in the CCC Camps in Drummond, WI and was also active in Logging. In 1938 he moved to Chicago, IL were he worked for a Construction Co. building the L Subway in Chicago. He Married Elizabeth Rose Eysnogle on May 18, 1940 in Chicago, IL. The couple then moved to Kennan, WI were they owned and operated a family farm and he worked as a mechanic. In l943 the family moved to Park Falls were he was employed as a mechanic at Vincent's Ford Dealership and later as a Parts Manager and Salesman until 1960. He then went to work for Bake-Rite Baking Co. of Stevens Point, WI as a delivery man for the Northern part of Wisconsin retiring in 1977. He enjoyed Golfing, hunting and loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents,(12)Brothers and Sisters-Mabel, Ralph, Earl, Orin, Leo, Pearl, Clifford, Bert, Homer, Willis, Kenneth and Lloyd. (1)Half-Brother-Edgar and (2)Half-Sisters-Elva and Lydia.

Funeral services will be held on Monday October 9, 2000 at 3:00p.m. from Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls, WI with Rev. Gary D. Lodholz officiating Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls, WI

Visitation will be held on Monday October 9, 2000 from 2:00p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Hilda Barnhart

Age 91, of Park Falls, died Wednesday May 31, 2000 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. She was born on June 2, 1908 in Edgar, WI, the daughter of Julius and Bertha (Rupno) Fandrey. Her early life and schooling were in Fifield, were she graduated from the Fifield High School in 1926. She moved to Milwaukee in 1928 where she married E.J. Roisum on December 21, 1929 in Madison. He preceded her in death in 1959. She worked for Allis Chalmers in West Allis from 1942 to 1954. In 1955 she moved to Albuquerque, NM and worked for ACF Industries from 1956 to 1967. She married E.C. Barnhart in Tucson, Arizona on April 28, 1969. She returned to Park Falls in 1988. Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church and the Price County Historical Society.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband E.J. Roisum in 1959, her second husband E.C. Barnhart in 1973, (4)brothers and (1)sister.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 5, 2000 at 2:00pm from Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Park Falls. Rev. Loren Barker will officiate.

Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield.

A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00pm until the hour of the service at the church.

Gerald “Jerry” BeBeau age 68 of Ashland, WI formerly of Glidden, WI died Thursday March 30, 2000 suddenly at his home. He was born December 30, 1931 in Shanagolden the son of Bernard & Rosella (Eder) BeBeau.

His early life and schooling were in Glidden, WI. He Married Gloria Gilligan on November 10, 1951 in Hartford, WI. He worked for the city of Hartford until 1972 when the family moved to Glidden, WI where he was the owner/operator of Northland Oil Co. and Jerry’s Mobil Station until retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Hartford and Glidden Volunteer Fire Departments.

He is survived by his Wife Gloria of Ashland, WI.

Jack (Dawn) BeBeau of Bessemer, MI.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 1, 2000 at 11:00a.m. from the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden, WI with Father Edward Hussli officiating. Burial will follow at the Most Precious Blood Cemetery in Glidden, WI.

A visitation will be held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saturday April 1, 2000 from 10:00a.m. until the hour of service.

Lee D. Behreandt

Age 86, of Park Falls, died Friday June 30, 2000 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. He was born on November 30, 1913 in Park Falls, the son of William and Rose (Young) Behreandt. He was a lifetime resident of Park Falls. On September 14, 1940 he married Verna Kundinger in Park Falls. Mr. Behreandt worked for Hines, Roddis and Warehouser Companies.

He is survived by:

His daughter Alene (Ed) Schrader of Park Falls

(5)great-grandchildren

and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, (4)brothers and (4)sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2000 at 11:00am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. James Jackson will officiate.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00am until the hour of the service at the church.

Ronald Belanger

Age 57, of Park Falls, died Monday August 21, 2000 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. He was born on July 6, 1943 in Menomonee, MI. Mr. Belanger lived in Milwaukee until his illness when he moved to Park Falls.

He is survived by (2)brothers: Laverne (Pat) Belanger and James Belanger, both of Draper, (1)sister: Elaine (Jim) Adomaitis of Eagle River, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harvey.

A memorial service will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home - Park Falls on Thursday August 24, 2000 at 3:00pm. Deacon Chet Ball will officiate.

Burial will take place at a later date at the Loretta-Draper Cemetery in Draper.

Helen A. Belland

Age 91, of Park Falls, died Thursday January 25, 2001 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. She was born on July 18, 1909 in Park Falls, the daughter of John and Laura (Woodie) Hilgart. On June 16, 1934 she married Alphonse Joseph Belland in Park Falls. She was a homemaker and worked in the kitchen at the Park Falls High School and the Ben Franklin Store in Park Falls for many years.

She is survived by:

Her son James Belland of Park Falls

(2)grandchildren: Craig and Beth Price

(2)sisters:

Julia Gundersgaard of Park Falls

Clara Donner of Duluth, MN

(1)brother:

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alphonse in 1956, her sister Margaret Kundinger and her (3)brothers: John, James, and Benny Hilgart.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 3, 2001 at 11:00am from St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. James Jackson will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at the church from 10:00am until the hour of the service on Saturday.

The Novitzke Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Robert Besse

Age 79, of Butternut, died Tuesday December 28, 1999 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born on December 19, 1920 in Butternut, the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Klein) Besse. He attended school in Butternut and graduated from Butternut High School. He attended Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee. He served as Postmaster in Butternut, as his father and grandfather did, he owned and operated a logging operation and saw mill, and later owned and operated a Laundromat in Butternut. Mr. Besse was an accomplished musician. He composed and published numerous songs. A caring and compassionate man, he realized that friendship is God’s most precious gift.

He is survived by:

His sister Helen Bourgo of Butternut

His brother John (Melissa) Besse of Gladstone, MI

(6)nieces and nephews:

Janice, Arthur, Susan, Melissa, Greg, and Merrijo.

And other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Arthur Besse.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 31, 1999 at 11:00am from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. Fr. James Jackson will officiate.

Burial will follow at St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut.

A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls on Thursday December 30, 1999 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00pm.

Josephine E. Bessey, Age 93, formerly of Iron Mountain, MI, died Friday, June 9, 2000 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls, WI. She was born on January 9, 1907 in Glidden, the daughter of William and Mary (Stangl) Wolf. Her early life and schooling were in Glidden. After graduating from Glidden High School she attended Stevens Point Teaching College and then became a teacher. In June of 1934 she married Harold Bessey in Glidden. Mrs. Bessey taught school in Glidden, Iron Mountain, and Kansas City, MO. While in Kansas City, the couple owned and operated the Highlands Hotel for 9 years, before returning to Iron Mountain.

She is survived by her sister Lucy Eineichner of Glidden and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold in 1973, and (3)sisters: Florence and Bernadine Wolf, and Irene Zielke.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 12, 2000 at 11:00am from the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden. Fr. John Scheer will officiate.

A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00am until the hour of the service at the church.

Burial will take place on Tuesday 1:00pm at Cemetery Park Cemetery in Iron Mountain, MI.
