Burial will be at a later date in Arpin Cemetery. Visitation is Friday beginning at 9 a.m. in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church.

Funeral services are tentatively planned for Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Rev. Fredrick Brost, her brother-in-law, officiating. Visitation is Friday at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Former Gilman resident Victoria Vick Christen died Friday, Jan. 7 in Lombard, Ill. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 10 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard. Burial was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Naperville, Ill.
Myron DeForth
(1918-2005)
Myron DeForth, 86, Milan, died Thursday, Jan. 13 at Memorial Health Center in Medford. Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 15 at Abbotsford Evangelical Free Church, with Rev. Bruce Janke officiating. Burial was in Sylvan Cemetery in the Town of Reseburg, Clark County. Pallbearers were Mark Bunkleman, Gordon Jones, Doug Blunt, Mark Raatz, Wade Knight, and Greg Blume.

Myron DeForth was born June 2, 1918 in Thorp. He graduated from Thorp High School.
He married Irene Zwicky, who preceded him in death April 6, 1994.
He worked as a cheesemaker in Somerset and in 1954 moved to Edgar, where he worked for the Edgar Cheese Factory. The family moved to Bismarck, N.D. in 1958 where he worked as a cheesemaker until returning to Owen in 1962. He moved to his hobby farm in Milan in 1967, where he currently resided.
He liked to help with transportation of the local Amish and Mennonite Communities. He enjoyed making rock crafts with his friend and partner, Vidella Durkee.
Myron is survived by one son, Gary DeForth of Dorchester; a brother, Roman DeForth of Norman, Okla.; special friends Wade and Joan Knight and their children, Roger, Aaron, and Christina and Cliff Jensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene; and an infant sister, Irene.

Gerald Harris officiating. Burial will be in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Pat and Jeff Grant, Greg and Dennis Brault, Rob Hein, Lee Paul, Steve Heil, and Jeff Beard.
