(1920-2006)
Former Rib Lake resident Walter A. Resudek, 85, Batavia, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 20 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips, with Father Ron Kowalski and Father John P. Slowey officiating. Interment was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Phillips, with military honors performed by Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778 and Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122, both of Phillips. Pallbearers were Jimmy Resudek, Stan “Butch” Resudek Jr. and Johnny Fill, and grandsons Mike Resudek and Jon and Jared Retzlaff. Heindl Funeral Home of Phillips assisted the family with arrangements.

LaVerne Spurgin
(1914-2006)
Former Town of Deer Creek resident LaVerne J. Spurgin, 92, Milwaukee, died Friday, Feb. 17 at Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center in Milwaukee. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 20 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, with Rev. James H. Babler officiating. Burial was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dru Doberstein, Pat Jochimsen, Andy Walz, Les Kissel and Jason and Jeremy Spurgin. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Liske and Reuel Thompson.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Gladys Svendal
(1931-2006)
Gladys June Svendal, 74, Manitowoc, died Sunday, Feb. 19 at her home. Private graveside services will be held at Meadow Brook Cemetery in Gilman at a later date.
Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Manitowoc assisted the family with arrangements.

Arthur Damrau
(1920-2006)
Arthur “Art” Otto Damrau, 85, Rib Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Rib Lake Health Care Center. Funeral services are Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Greenwood with Rev. Carl Busse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274. Pallbearers are Dan Judnic, Tom Wickre, Chris Yerk, Shawn Damrau, Larry Krieski and Bruce Gebauer. Visitation is Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake and Saturday at the church beginning at 2 p.m.

Robert Doubek
(1929-2006)
Robert O. Doubek, 77, Hanover Park, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 10 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake, with Rev. Roger Sloan officiating. Interment with full military honors conducted by Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake, was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers were Dennis, William and Gary Doubek, Marcus Elliot and Dennis Neilson.

Rose Galler
(1911-2006)
Rose Agnes Galler, 94, Rhinelander, died Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Friendly Village Nursing Home. Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 10 at Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home in Rhinelander, with Deacon Mike Harvey officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Medford on Monday, Feb. 13.

Albert Johnson
(1920-2006)
Albert Robert “Rob” “AJ” Johnson, 85, Medford, died Sunday, Feb. 5 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford while under hospice care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Medford with Rev. James Briney officiating. Inurnment will be at Evergreen I Cemetery in Medford at a later date.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Karen Kaahui
Karen (Kaczmarczyk) Kaahui, 51, formerly of Lublin, died Saturday, Feb. 4 from Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Helen Maxam
(1923-2006)
Helen Louise Maxam, 82, died Monday, Feb. 13 at Rennes Health Center in Appleton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Appleton, with Pastor Tom Fritz officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
Valley Funeral Home of Appleton assisted the family with arrangements.

Maddox Scheithauer
Maddox Ryan Scheithauer, infant son of Shanna and Ryan Scheithauer of Rib Lake, died at birth on January 25 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Rib Lake United Methodist Church, with Pastor Terry Dorenbush officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Anna Vesnefsky
(1914-2006)
Anna Vesnefsky, 91, Medford, died Thursday, Feb. 9 at Memorial Health Center in Medford. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers were her granddaughters, Jessica, Angela, Stephanie and Lisa Vesnefsky, Jennifer Batchelder, Chastity Kucharus, Tammy Curtis and Debbie Kaja.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Robert Viergutz
Robert Charles Viergutz, 71, Marshall, Va., died Sunday, Feb. 12 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dale City, Va. Interment with honors will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.

Donna Dittloff
(1954-2006)
Donna J. Dittloff, 52, Medford, died Wednesday, June 7 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital emergency room following an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Monday, June 12 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford, with Pastor Pete Warmanen officiating. Burial was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II in Medford. Paula Sabatke was honorary pallbearer. Active pallbearers were John Isola, Kelly Schultz, Duane and Linda Plath and Mark and Jane Priniski.

Morris Lavin
(1944-2006)
In Loving Memory of Morris Bruce Lavin, 62, Village of Dorchester, who was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 10, 2006.
Funeral services for Morris will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Reverend Mark Neumann will officiate. Morris will be honored with full military rites by the Dorchester American Legion Post No. 517 with inurnment in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Town of Holway, Taylor County.
Visitation with family and friends will be at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m.

Elizabeth Molitor
(1915-2006)
Former Medford resident Elizabeth M. Molitor, 91, Portage, died Tuesday, June 13 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Madison. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial will be at Molitor Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Molitor. Pallbearers will be Jeff Tlusty, Albert and Robert Pinsch, Lee Mahner, Wayne Blumenstein and Harold Koester.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m.

Marsha Nikkila
(1956-2006)
Marsha J. Nikkila, 49, Milwaukee, died Saturday, May 6 at home. Inurnment took place at Leavitt Creek Cemetery in the Town of Hill.
