Yvonne J. Smith, 84, Medford, died Tuesday, April 25 at Memorial Nursing Center in Medford where she had resided for the past year. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Medford, with Rev. Irv Case officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Friday at Christ Lutheran Halverson Cemetery in Menomonie. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Tank, Brent Wilson, Andy Kane and Curtiss Hustad. Active pallbearers will be Tom Wilson, Kenny Kane, Dan and Jacob Keith and Steve and Scott Piller.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Helen Stuner
Former Jump River resident Helen (Madlon) Stuner, died March 8 at her home in Lansing, Mich. A memorial service will be held on May 20 at 1 p.m. at the Jump River Community Hall, with Deacon Richard Brockbank officiating. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

Leo Stunner
Former Jump River resident Leo Stuner, died December 5, 2005 at his home in Lansing, Mich. A memorial service will be held on May 20, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Jump River Community Hall, with Deacon Richard Brockbank officiating. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

Paul Sweningson Jr.
(1931-2006)
Paul A. Sweningson Jr., 74, Medford, died Tuesday, April 25 at Memorial Health Center while under hospice care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Medford, with Rev. Irv Case officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Westboro with graveside military rites conducted by Premeau-Shauss VFW of Westboro. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Blair and Bill Brayton. Active pallbearers will be Melvin and Dennis Gebert, Lee Smith, Kevin Moberg, Gene Everson, Jerry Hubbard, Rick Kraus, Alvin Edblom and Jim Flood.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with a 7 p.m. Masonic memorial service, and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Harvey Viergutz
(1925-2006)
Harvey H. Viergutz, 80, Medford, died Wednesday, April 19 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital while under hospice care. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford with graveside military rites performed by Medford VFW Honors team. Pallbearers were Jack, Jay, Shane, Jason, Ryan and “Slats” Viergutz.

AlVera Boie
(1916-2006)
AlVera M. Boie, 90, of Thorp, died Wednesday, April 12 at Oakbrook Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 17 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp, with Father Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial was at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kert, Blake, Eric and Michael Boie, Benjamin and Brent Mueller, Randy Karaba and Steve Mohs.
Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Dustin Dassow
(1984-2006)
Dustin J. Dassow, 21, Medford, died Saturday, April 15 at Memorial Health Center Emergency Room in Medford. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. The body will be cremated following funeral services. Pallbearers will be Eric Carlson, Jeremy Dassow, Corey Dassow, Jake Dassow, Shane Krueger, Travis Wegerer, Matt Noland, Pat Harder and Mike Hoffman.

Glenn Derouin
Glenn J. Deroin, 95, died Monday, April 17 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Burial services will be held Friday, April 21 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire.

Gavin Dums
(2005-2006)
Gavin James Dums, 8 month old son of Ben and Emily (Glass) Dums of Viola, died Thursday, April 13 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., where he had been hospitalized with respiratory problems since his birth. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 17 at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua, with Pastor John Gannon officiating.

James Fallon
(1939-2006)
James F. Fallon, 66, died Friday, April 14 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 19 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Eau Claire. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at the Medford VFW.

Ed Haller
(1914-2006)
Ed Haller, 91, Gilman, died Wednesday, April 12 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 18 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, with Father John Long officiating. Burial was at the parish cemetery.

James Schaefer
(1939-2006)
James “Jim” J. Schaefer, 66, Medford, died Thursday, April 13 at Memorial Health Center in Medford. Funeral services were held Monday, April 17 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers were his nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mark A. Clausnitzer, 51, Owen, died Monday, April 10 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Cremainal interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Former Dorchester resident Merle Martha Winchell, 91, Merrill, died Thursday, March 30 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Merrill. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4 at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, with Reverend Robert Everhard officiating. Burial was at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis, Dan, Dale and Duane Yorde , Mike Schultz and Bob Schmidt.

Burial was Monday, March 27 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Sister Elizabeth Rose Kress, 87, died Monday, March 27 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Convent in Campbellsport.
