Anthony J. Gressick, 88, Lublin, died Friday, Sept. 22 at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen. Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 23 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Lublin. Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.

Rose M. Shimek, 74, Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 9 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Edmund Doerre officiating. Interment was at Bateman Cemetery in the Town of LaFayette. Horan Funeral Home of Chippewa Falls assisted the family with the arrangements.

William "Bill" H. Schilling, 81, Medford, died Friday, Sept. 22 at his home while under hospice care. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 25 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Whittlesey with Father Gerald Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
Lester Hobler

Former Madison resident Lester H. Hobler, 91, Ogema, died Saturday, Sept. 23 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake with Pastor Randal Jeppesen officiating. Full military honors were conducted by the Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake.
Edwin Lundstrom

Former Ogema resident Edwin Oscar Lundstrom, 93, Phillips, died Sunday, Sept. 24 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Ogema with Rev. Bob Giese officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Dallman-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with the arrangements.

Joseph J. M. Tuss, 85, Pardeeville, died Friday, Sept. 15. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Pardeeville. Full military rites were performed by the Pardeeville American Legion and VFW Posts. Burial will take place at a later date.

A Christian burial mass was held on Saturday, Sept. 16 at St.'s Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman with Fr. John Long officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Leonard Foster, 73, former Stanley area resident, died Friday, Sept. 15 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. A Christian burial service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Plombon Funeral Chapel in Stanley with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
Barbara Habeck
(1939-2006)
Barbara Habeck, 67, Wausau, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Barbara was born March 8, 1939 to the late Gustave and Barbara (Beck) Rusch in Taylor County. She married Neil Habeck on August 18, 1956 in Rib Lake. He preceded her in death in January 1997.
Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles and a challenging game of scrabble. She was an avid crafter and talented painter. She loved living up at the lake in Harrison Hills. She always looked forward to the canning season at her sister’s garden. Spending time with her family and friends, especially during the holidays, brought her great joy.
Survivors include her two sons, Mark (Jeanice) Habeck, Mosinee and Dave (Mary) Habeck, Merrill; one daughter, Karen (Joe) Goree, Wausau; three stepgrandchildren, Jessica, Brittany and Jonathon; one stepgreat-grandson, Ethan; one brother, Ron (Kathy) Rusch, Waupaca; two sisters, Kay (Elroy) Heckendorf, Wausau and Ruth (Herb) Schiethauer, Rib Lake; two sisters-in-law, Velda Rusch, Calif. and Delores Habeck, Medford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother and a stepfather.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. You may sign our family guest book at Helke.com.
