Myrtle E. Dessart
Myrtle E. Dessart, 86, Suring died at Woodland Village on Thursday, March 23, 2000. She was born in Red Springs Shawano County on October 11, 1913 to the late John and Blanche Little Tousey. She married John E. Dessart January 18, 1933 in Gillett. The couple lived and farmed many years in the town of How. Myrtle loved to sew and cook for her family. She was a member of the Suring United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Florence Richard Klawitter of Suring, Louise Setum of Waukesha; her son, Edward Dessart of Suring; five sisters, Ruby Jashinsky of Coleman, Bessie Gordon Borge of Mundeline, IL, Mayme 'Pat' Ira Davids of Bowler, Velma Yakel of Watersmeet, MI, Opal Erb of Suring; one brother, Ervin 'Smoke' Enid Tousey of Bowler; sisters-in-law, Sister Rose Wilhelmine OSF of Springfield, IL, Margaret Dessart of Suring; two grandchildren and their families. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband John on January 2, 1992, her sister, Sister Wistremunde, three brothers, Gordon, Mick, and Wallace; two brothers-in-law, Sam Yakel and Walter Jashinsky; one son-in-law, Robert Setum. Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring. Funeral services were Monday 11 a.m. at the Suring United Methodist Church with Pastor LaVerne Ulrichson officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. A memorial has been established.

Mrs. Leon 'Virgil O.' Rondou
Mrs. Leon (Virgil O.) Rondou, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at a local nursing home. She was born June 13, 1910 in Green Bay to the late Louis and Laura (Delfosse) Rubin. On October 12, 1937, she married Leon Rondou at ST. Willebrord Catholic Church; he preceded in death March 14, 1992. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, participated in many activists with Leon in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks-Lodge #259, and was a very creative and artistic person. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Lyn Rondou of Burnsville, Minn.; one daughter, Pam Farrell of Green Bay; four granddaughters, Suzanne Farrell, Vanessa Rondou, Shawna Rondou, Megan Rondou; one brother-in-law, Lesley Rondou; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Prouty and Dorothy Wittum. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joe Coopmans, O.Praem officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Lyndah’s Funeral Home is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of St. Mary’s Hospital. A heartful thank you to everyone at Manor Care West for all the loving and tender care extended to our Mom. A warm thank you to her niece, Katy, and our special neighbor, Helen, for all their love and time and care.

Mayme E. McCarthy
Mayme E. McCarthy, 79, Howard, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at a local nursing home. She was born September 10, 1920, in Mississippi to the late Edd and Jane (Meadows) Hopkins. She married James H. McCarthy in Tennessee; he preceded her in death February 3, 1964. She was employed by Spence-McCord (later known as General Medical) for many years. Mayme was a member of the Women of the Moose #451. She became a member of the Women of the Moose in 1955. She received her Academy of Friendship degree in 1959, her College of Regents degree in 1970 and her Star Recorder degree in 1976. She is survived by one son, Jim H. McCarthy, Sun Prairie; two grandchildren, Keli and Aaron McCarthy, Madison; two sisters, Ora Mae Thompson, Memphis, Tenn. and Carrie Walker, Dumas, Miss.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Hopkins and four sisters, Bertha Thompson, Zelma Thompson, Dorothy Edwards and Myrtle Edwards. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue and Ridge Road. A memorial service by the Women of the Moose will be held at 5 p.m. Committal service will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Madison, on Monday at 2 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home for the quality of care that was given to Mayme.

Doloris Kaufman
Doloris Kaufman, 85, Green Bay, died Monday March 20, 2000 at a local nursing home. She was born December 13, 1914 in Cecil, Wis. to the late Karl and Edith (Gibson) Koslowske. She married Ward Kaufman June 18, 1949 in Green Bay. He preceded her in death in 1984. Doloris was a manicurist at the Northland Hotel and the Downtowner Hotel for many years. She is survived by nieces and nephews; Nancy Pasowicz, Pulaski; Thomas Koslowske, New York, Patricia Michales, Janesville, Kathleen Grathe, Green Bay, Carol Van Laanen, Green Bay, Nancy Sager, Green Bay. Preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Eisch; two brothers, Cyril and Carly Koslowske. Also her best friend, Connie Gable. Friends may call at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe St. after 1 p.m. Thursday with funeral at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ted Tromble officiating. Burial Ft. Howard Cemetery.

Lillian C. 'Babe' Goffard
Lillian C. 'Babe' Goffard, 76, Oneida, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 21, 2000. She was born December 27, 1923, in De Pere to Christian and Rose (Roffers) Hendricks. She married Gerald Goffard on September 28, 1948, at St. Boniface Church in De Pere. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1992. Lillian and Gerald farmed in De Pere for several years. Lillian had many talents: she sewed custom draperies; wrote poems, songs and stories; and loved gardening and growing apples. She was most famous for her fabulous cooking and baking, especially Kneecaps! She played guitar in her family’s band called Echo Mountain. Every Monday night there was a jam session at her house. Her band entertained at nursing homes for many years. She will be very dearly missed. Lillian is survived by her six children: Rose (Bob) LeClair, Rhinelander; Chris (Ken) Rogers, De Pere; Mike (Lynn) Goffard, Rhinelander; Terri Goffard, Oneida; Jeff (Sally) Goffard, Greenleaf; Vicki Goffard, Seymour; 11 grandchildren: Gerilyn Goffard and fiance, Dave Becker; Christopher, Matthew, and Colleen LeClair; Nickolas and Justin Goffard; Kevin Goffard and friend Annie; Jason (Katie) Goffard; Andrea Goffard and fiance, Adam; Heather Goffard and friend, Lonny; and Alex Shoeder; a sister, Evelyn Goffard, De Pere; a brother and sister-in-law, Elmer (Evelyn) Hendricks, De Pere; four sisters-in-law: Loretta Hendricks, De Pere; Virginia DeBruin, De Pere; Florence Goffard, Florida; Rosella Hendricks, De Pere. She was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Van Gheem and three brothers, Roland, Fred, and Arthur Hendricks. Friends may call at Immaculate Conception Church, Oneida, Friday, March 24, from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Fr. Richard Thomas officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family.

Marian L. Dimmer
Marian L. Dimmer, 88, Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Monday evening, March 20, 2000 at a local hospital. She was born March 23, 1911 in Green Bay to the late Anton and Catherine (De Leers) De Grave. Marian married Frank Dimmer on September 15, 1934 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death April 4, 1993. She will be remembered by many for her work at the polling stations for 26 years or working at the Packer Stadium for 15 years in a Hot Dog stand. Marian also volunteered her time and talents at Pauls Pantry and the St. Vincent De Paul Store. She was a longtime member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish, their Altar Society and their 55 plus Club. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Leroy LaViolette and Kathryn (Kay) and Milan (Mike) Kraus all of Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law, Fran and Cindy Dimmer, De Pere; 10 grandchildren, Jim LaViolette, Diane (Gary) Grzywa, Jeff LaViolette, Lynn (Paul) Meyers, Scott Kraus, Sherry (Mike) Bailey, Stacy (Randall) De Grave, Christopher (Gretchen) Dimmer, Brian Dimmer, Alissa Dimmer; four great-grandchildren, Amanda and Danielle Grzywa, Nathan and Noah Meyers; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4-8 p.m. TODAY (Wednesday) and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the cortege leaves for church. Altar Society Rosary 4 p.m. today, Parish Wake Service 7 p.m. today. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Canavera officiating. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
“She will be sadly missed by her family and special friends Marge Lorenzoni, Eleanor Van Nelson, Mae Van Rens, Marge and Henry Mileski and a special Godchild, Jan Anderson. Marian’s family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to her neighbors who kept an eye out for her Bonnie and Dale and Phyllis.”

Raymond Bebeau
Raymond Bebeau, 84, Green Bay, found peace March 20, 2000, at a local hospital while surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born on May 14, 1915, to the late Henry and Odile (Lonzo) Bebeau. He graduated from East High School. Shortly after high school, Ray joined the Merchant Marines and proudly served during World War II. (Five of Ray’s brothers also served in the armed services during World War II and another served our country at a later date.) Beside numerous other jobs, he worked for over 25 years as a tool and die maker in Milwaukee and most recently as a security guard at the Milwaukee Public Museum. After retiring from the museum in 1977, Ray moved back to Green Bay to be near his family. He enjoyed playing poker, collecting stamps and loved listening to classical music. His family will long remember Ray for his sharp wit and for his gentlemanly ways, even throughout his difficult times. Ray is survived by one brother, Arnold Bebeau of Green Bay; one sister and spouse, Betty and Gene Stebbings of Spooner; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Bebeau of Green Bay; numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Urban, Leland, Gerald, Bernard, Eldred, Roland, and sisters-in-law. Friends may call at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation continues 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd.
Ray’s family extends a hearty thank you to the nursing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital third floor, Woodside Lutheran Nursing Home and Marla Vista Assisting Living Care. They will all miss Ray.
