Sigrid Brecke, 88, Dorchester, died Monday, May 7 at Our House Senior Living while under hospice and palliative care. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, with Rev. Dennis Govier officiating. Burial will be at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott and Thor Thompson, Edward Brecke III, Dale and Dean Prochnow, Chad Erickson, Jason and Rory Brecke, Jesse Brecke, and Kevin and Jared Stieber.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the time of service.

Helen Farning
1918-2007
Helen Martha Farning, 88, Colby, died Saturday, May 5 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12 at 5 p.m. at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, with Rev. Jeff Tarras officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Stella Hatlestad
1906-2007
Stella G. Hatlestad, 100, Medford, died Monday, May 7 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway, with Rev. Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating. Burial will be at Our Saviours Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Holway. Pallbearers are Karin and Jon Fry, Tim and Tina Gilbert, Julie and Mario Duwe and Heather Hatlestad.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Edward Klimowski
1951-2007
Edward William Klimowski, 55, Phillips, died Friday, May 4 in Medford from injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 15 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips, with Father Gerald Hagen, Deacon James Celba and Deacon Chet Ball officiating. Interment will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the church, with the parish wake service at 7 p.m.
The Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips assisted the family with arrangements.

Kathryn Luciw
1919-2007
Former Rib Lake resident Kathryn M. Luciw, 87, Bedford, Mass., died Sunday, April 29 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
The former Kathryn Maslonka was born November 5, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minn. to the late Joseph and Mary (Zondlo) Maslonka. She attended Rib Lake area schools.

Rubylyn Martwick
1977-2007
Rubylyn Martwick, 29, Phillips, died Monday, May 7 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese of Lesieux Catholic Church in Phillips, with Father Gerald Hagen officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Phillips.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Opal Piller
1917-2007
Opal E. Piller, 89, Medford, died Tuesday, May 8 at Memorial Nursing Home where she had resided the past 4 1/2 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Father Frederick J. Brost officiating. Burial will be at Stetsonville Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Dennis Laffan Jr., Edward and Alan Piller, Mike and Jeff Raiche and Jason and Jim Jochimsen.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with a 7 p.m. Catholic prayer service, and at the church on Friday from noon until the time of service.

Rose Schmeiser
1916-2007
Rose E. Schmeiser, 91, Rib Lake, died Friday, May 4 at the Golden Living Center in Rib Lake, where she had resided the past year. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were her grandchildren, Terry, Ricky, Jeff, Jack, Kristi and Josh.

Oliver Slattery
1941-2007
Oliver "Ollie" Duwayne Slattery, 65, Town of Prentice, died Monday, May 7 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Catawba, with Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Interment will be at Catawba Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Danny Slattery, Dustin Slattery, Donald Slattery, Eric Slattery, Danielle Slattery, Logan Conner, Paul Conner and Jennifer Rang. Honorary pallbearers are Miranda Rang, Cody Conner, Brandon, Thomas, Brett and Adam Henderson, Trent Knoell, Gregory, Madlyn, Annie and Tyler Slattery and Joseph Allen Barr.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, May 11 from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Elaine G. Vanderhoof, 77, Town of Hill, died Saturday, May 5 at her home surrounded by her loving family and Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. Private graveside services were held Wednesday, May 9 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in the Town of Hill. Pallbearers were her grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Mike, Mark, Lisa and Carla Egle, Lynn and John Zevenbergen, and Lori and Rex Lloyd-Jones.

Jerome "Romy" G. Gaab, 76, Medford, died Thursday, April 26 at Memorial Nursing Home where he had resided the past three years. Funeral services were held Monday, April 30 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford, with graveside military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Chad and Cody Kohler, Casey and Kylie Fitzgerald, and Tyler, Katie Jo, Katie Ann, Ryan, Jamie, Sara and Molly Gaab.

Roman F. LaBarge, 76, Rib Lake, died Tuesday, April 24 at the Golden Living Center in Rib Lake. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 20 at 2 p.m. at Ascension Episcopal Church in Merrill, with Rev. Kristina Henning officiating.

Joseph Paul Olejniczak, 82, Thorp, died Monday, April 23 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley. Funeral services were held Friday, April 27 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp, with Father Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial was at New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.
