A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 8 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Stetsonville, with Father Frederick Brost officiating.

Mary Johnas
Mary Jahnke Johnas, 94, Athens, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2006 at Mount View Care Center in Wausau.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens.
Burial services were held Sunday, Sept. 2 at Calvary Cemetery in Athens.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Lucille Curran
1915-2007
Lucille "Lu" Curran, 92, Rib Lake, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2006 at Memorial Health Center in Medford.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake, with Father Bernie Byrne officiating.
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.

Lorraine Kwiesielewicz
1929-2007
Duane A. Erickson, 78, Stetsonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2006 at his home while under hospice care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, with Rev. James H. Babler officiating.
Interment will be at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Stetsonville.
Pallbearers are Kenny Ellingson, Marlin Vircks, Kevin Liegl, Alvin Raasch, Randy Meschefsky and Nels Larson.

Lorraine Young
1908-2007
Lorraine M. Young, 99, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2006.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the Church and Chapel Funeral Home in New Berlin.

Leo Vander Kamp
1931-2007

Leo B. Vander Kamp, 75, Elgin, Ill., died September 11, 2006 at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, Ill.
Interment of his cremains took place at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.
Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman assisted the family with arrangements. “Dick” Hensel died April 27 at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.
A burial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Perkinstown Cemetery.

Betty Stillman
1923-2007
Betty Jane Stillman, 84, Granton, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2006 in the intensive care unit of St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with Allen Zimmerman officiating.
Interment will be at Windfall Cemetery in Granton.
Pallbearers are Patrick Cliver, Tony Cliver, Travis Coyle, Rusty Coyle, Scott Stillman and Bailey O'Neil.

Justin Gardner
1979-2007
Justin Paul Gardner, 27, Eau Claire, was pronounced dead Sunday, Aug. 19 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk where he was taken earlier by ambulance.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 24 at The United Church of Christ in Medford, with Rev. Peter Warmanen officiating.

Duane Erickson
1929-2007
Duane A. Erickson, 78, Stetsonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 21 at his home while under hospice care.

Harold R. Jensen, 66, Chippewa Falls, died Friday, Aug. 17 at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Mike Wollman officiating.
Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie.

Richard Hensel
1922-2007
Richard “Dick” Hensel died April 27 at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.
A burial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Perkinstown Cemetery.

Patrick Brost
1960-2007
Patrick R. Brost, 46, Iron River, died Wednesday, July 18 at his home.
A mass of Christian burial was held Monday, July 23 at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Iron River, with Father Michael Crisp officiating.
Interment was at Saint Michael Cemetery in Iron River.

Susy Krug
1961-2007
Susy Marie Krug, 46, Medford, was pronounced dead Friday, Aug. 17 at her home.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway, with Rev. Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements..

James Lapan
1931-2007
James Roger Lapan, 76, Malone, died Sunday, Aug. 12 at his home.
A graveside service was held Friday, Aug. 17 at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema, with Rev. Dennis Govier officiating.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Leona Wallenfelsz
Leona Wallenfelsz, nee Herbst, of West Bend, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, Ill., at the age of 86.
She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in the town of Barton to the late John and Matilda (nee Kircher) Herbst, and married Harold Wallenfelsz. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, James of St. Paul, Minn. and Robert of Galesburg, Ill.; several grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Wagner and Dolly Reimer, both of West Bend, and Della Kluge of California; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg. Rev. Earnest Pizzamiglio will officiate, and cremation will follow.
There will be no visitation.
The Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg, Ill., is serving the family.

Wanda A. Roever
Wanda A. Roever, nee Taggart, 63, of Slinger died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend.
She was born June 21, 1936, in Manawa to Robert and Evelyn (nee Kostrzak) Taggart, and married John T. "Jack" Roever on August 31, 1957 in Manawa.
Born and raised in Manawa, Wis., she attended Little Wolf High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1954. She then attended UW-Oshkosh for four years, graduating in 1958 with a BS Degree in Education. She did post-graduate work at the University of Toronto Canada, UW-Milwaukee and Carroll College of Waukesha, completing her Master’s Degree. Her Master’s Degree was awarded in Carl Orff Method of Music Education. After marriage, the couple lived in Wauwatosa, where she taught in the Elmbrook School District.
The couple finally settled in Washington County in 1965. She was a newspaper reporter for the West Bend Daily News. In 1972, she became treasurer for the town of Polk for 10 years. She then became the State Director for the U.S. Senate for Sen. Robert W. Kasten for 12 years, retiring in 1993.
Afterward, she devoted herself to volunteer activities as the Washington County Representative for the Southeast Regional Health Planning Commission and the Washington County Humane Society. She was presently active with the Republican Party of Washington County, the Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Committee of Washington County, the vice-chair of the Washington County Civil Service Commission and chairperson for the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board.
A member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Slinger, she was a devoted wife, mother and daughter who loved plants and flowers.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Mary (John) Macukas of Norfolk, Va. and Peter Roever of West Bend; her mother, Evelyn Goetz of Manawa; a sister, Katherine Larson of LaCrosse; two brothers; Thomas Goetz of Wautoma and James "Joe" (Nancy) Goetz of Jackson, Mo., and special friend "Humphrey," the family dog and spokesdog for the Washington County Humane Society. She was further survived by nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her father, Robert, and stepfather, Leonard Goetz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Slinger with Fr. Robert J. Bales officiating.
Visitation will be at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend on Monday, Jan. 31 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Closing of the casket prayers will be at 10 a.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home on Tuesday.
Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery of Slinger following the Mass.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
