Malin A. Henke, 62, Gilman, Town of Jump River, died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 9 at Rusk County Memorial Hospital in Ladysmith. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Gilman Funeral Chapel, with Keith Plombon officiating. Burial was at Hannibal Cemetery.

Velda M. Holzl, 77, Rib Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 9 at Golden Living Center in Rib Lake while under hospice and palliative care. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 13 at Rib Lake United Methodist Church, with Pastor Cheri Miskimen officiating. Interment was at St. Ann's Cemetery in the Town of Greenwood. Pallbearers were Kenneth Holzl, Randy Holzl, Kevin Holzl, Mike Floyd, Brian Floyd and Terry Floyd.

Bernard Knapp

Bernard Jackson Knapp, 87, longtime Gilman area resident died Sunday, Aug. 12 at Zastrow Care Center in Gilman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home, with Charles Thain and Perry Pearson officiating. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman, with military graveside rites performed by the Gilman American Legion Post No. 359.

Paul F. Peterson, 40, Bessemer, Ala., died Monday, Aug. 13 at Baptist Medical Center in Princeton, Ala. Private family funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.

Phyllis S. Raschke, 69, Menomonie, died Monday, Aug. 13 at Dunn County Health Care Center where she had resided since April. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Dale Freberg officiating. Burial will be at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date.
Sam Scimeca
1919-2007
Sam C. Scimeca, 87, Medford, died Thursday, Aug. 9 at Deer View Meadows Assisted Living in Medford, where he had resided the past year, while under hospice care. A memorial mass was held Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment of his cremains will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
The family requests memorials be made to Hope Hospice.
Miriam Annala
1918-2007
Miriam "Mikki" Annala, 89, Westboro, died Monday, Aug. 6 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield while under palliative care. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 10 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, with Rev. Roger Sloan officiating. Interment will be at Leavitt Creek Cemetery in the Town of Hill. Active pallbearers are Jim Annala, Dave Annala, Martin Annala, Keith Annala, Matthew Annala, Anthony Annala, Robbie Erickson and Kevin Bedgood. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Ebert and John Schlage.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake, and at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Carol Cornell
1930-2007
Former Jump River resident Carol Cornell, 76, Sullivan, died Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit at The Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa. As a retired nurse, her wish was to have her body donated to a medical school. A celebration of her life will be held by her family at a later date in the Gilman area.
Clarence Dassow
1933-2007
Clarence H. Dassow, 74, Medford, died Saturday, Aug. 4 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford, where he had resided the past three years, while under hospice care. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey, with Pastor Randall Jeppesen officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Whittlesey. Pallbearers were Rick and Randy Dohrwardt, Richard Drager Jr., Harold "Sonny," Alvin Jr. and Arnie Dassow Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in his name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Herman Klimeck

Herman L. Klimeck, 82, Dubuque, Iowa, died Thursday, July 12 at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center. Services were held Saturday, July 14 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dubuque. Burial was at Mount Calvary Cemetery with military rites performed by the American Legion Dubuque Post No. 6.

Keith Wade Perren, 55, Phillips, died Tuesday, July 17. Funeral services were held Friday, July 20 at First Presbyterian Church in Phillips, with Rev. Matthew Arneson officiating. Interment was at Union Cemetery in Butternut.

Joanne Rose

On August 1, 2007 Joanne Marlene (Blume) Rose, 57, of Lublin, ended a short battle with cancer with her family at her bedside.
Preparations are being handled by Higgins Funeral Home. A memorial service was held Tuesday, August 7 at Maplehurst Town Hall, with Father Thaddeius Wojcik officiating. In leu of flowers, a memorial fun has been set up at the People's Choice Credit Union, Medford.

Evelyn Margaret Schilling, 79, Medford, died Monday, Aug. 6 at Memorial Health Center in Medford. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. at Medford United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dennis Govier officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in the Town of Spirit. Pallbearers are Jason Schreiner, Juli Johnson, Heidi Schilling, Kyle Schilling, Aimee Beaumont and Justin Beaumont.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
