Clifford Neitzel
1924-2008
Clifford R. Neitzel, 84, Town of Holway, was pronounced dead Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the emergency room of Memorial Health Center in Medford, where he had been taken earlier by ambulance. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 20 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway, with Pastor Kris Bjerke-Ulliman officiating. Interment was at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Holway. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Cody, Cole, Doug and Derrick Neitzel and Josh and Jim Adams.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
Clifford Neitzel was born March 23, 1924 in the Town of Holway to the late Charles and Caroline (Ried) Neitzel. He attended Town of Holway Elementary School. He worked road construction.
On July 25, 1953 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church he married Annabelle Krug, who survives. They farmed in the Town of Holway until retirement in 1998. While farming he also worked at Niemuth Implement and Mundt's Garage, both in Stetsonville, and also did woods work.
He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and working on antique tractors.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Adele (Steve) Adams of the Town of Holway; three sons, Greg (Debby), Jeff (Patty) and Kevin, all of the Town of Holway; two brothers, Ernest (Adeline) of Owen and Walter of West Plains, Mo.; two sisters, Ann Hamus of Colby and Mildred Hamm of Curtiss; 12 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Elmer and three sisters, Edna Smith, Hilda Borski and Lily Sann.

Florence Wesle-Noth
1918-2008
Former Medford area resident Florence A. Wesle-Noth, 89, Menomonee Falls, died Friday, Sept. 5 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, S.C. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls. Graveside committal services will be held Wednesday, October 1 at 1 p.m. at Medford Evergreen Cemetery, with Rev. Randal Jeppesen officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with local arrangements.
The former Florence Wesle was born December 5, 1918 in Medford to the late Herman and Elizabeth (Hoefner) Wesle. She was a 1936 graduate of Medford High School. She worked at Hurd Millwork in Medford.
On February 26, 1950 in Racine, she married Melvin Raymond Julius Noth, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was a long time resident of Menomonee Falls. In the fall of 2007 she went to South Carolina to visit her daughter, then remained there until the time of her death.
She enjoyed people, animals and was a Bucky Badger fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie (Peter) Janke of Gresham, S.C.; godchild, Gordon (Alberta) Herrick of Fresno, Calif.; life long friends, Fuzzy and Billy Brunn of Medford; cousins; and other relatives and friends in the Medford area.
Memorials may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind of San Rafael, Calif., Humane Society of Florence, S.C., or Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word of Florence.

Raymond Pashalian Jr.
1947-2008
Raymond C. Pashalian Jr. of Brookfield, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at age 61. Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Church and Chapel Funeral Home of New Berlin, Wis. Service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. He was laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery.
Ray is survived by his wife and best friend of 25+ years, Clarice (Drager). Also his best friends, Smokey and Monty. Other survivors in this area are, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry Drager of Medford, Allen Drager of Duluth, Susan (Tom) Blasel, Loretta (Wayne) Salzgeber, Sandy Drager, all of Medford, Naomi (David) Kestler of Westboro, Barbara Schafer of Eau Claire and Debra (Bill) Liddle of Green Bay. Also, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, many friends and customers.
Ray was owner of Tobacco World Ltd. in Greenfield for 25 years. He was a member of Tobacconist's Association of America, Retail Tobacco Dealers of America and Cigar Store Alliance of Wisconsin. He was also known for his great love of reading and movies. Ray always wanted to parachute jump, which he did at the age of 58.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents, Uncle Stan, stepson Kevin Hackbarth, his wife's parents, and brother-in-law, Jacob Drager.

Marian Berry
1925-2008
Marian E. Berry, 83, Medford, died Saturday, Sept. 13 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where she had been a patient the past six days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 16 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. Pete Warmanen officiating. Interment was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Active pallbearers were her grandsons, Kurt, Chad and Clint Berry and Aaron, Cody and Kyle Stibbe. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Berry and Cole Pyka.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
The former Marian Smith was born April 21, 1925 in Springfield, Ill. to the late Neeley and Matilda (Krebs) Smith. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School in Illinois.
On June 28, 1947 in Baraboo she married Guy E. Berry, who preceded her in death on February 14, 1991. They owned and operated the Macky Spur Tavern in Ogema from 1960 until their retirement in 1970. She was a homemaker.
She was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed, writing letters, reading, socializing, bingo, being outdoors, gardening and cardinals.
Survivors include her children, Ed (Nancy) Berry of Colby, Harold (friend Ellie) Berry, Rick (Deb) Berry and Dean (Jean), all of Medford, Jim (Diane) Burnett of Dawson, Ill., Mary Jo (Randy) Berry of Merrill, Barb (Greg) Stibbe of Rib Lake; Jeannie Berry of Stetsonville, Janet Berry of Arcadia and Diane (Bill) Hoyt of Portage; two stepchildren, Bob (Bev) Berry of McFarland and Mary Heim of Cuba City; a sister, Marge Rice of Springfield; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Clayton Guy Berry in 1976.

Sue Clarkson
1952-2008
Sue Carol Clarkson, 56, Stevens Point, died Sunday, Aug. 31 at her home. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 5 in Stevens Point, with Dee Weber officiating.
The former Sue Dohrwardt was born April 10, 1952 to the late George H. and Helen L. Dohrwardt. She graduated from Medford High School and earned her nursing license at Gogebic College in Ironwood, Mich.
On September 25, 1971 in Medford, she married Bill E. Clarkson, who survives.
She enjoyed flowers, fishing, making baits, cake decorating and sea shells.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four daughters, Jennifer (Bob) Saucier of Janesville, Vicki (Mark) Reinke of Hatley, Tammie (Troy) Michel of Rhinelander and Katie (Allen) Miller of Stevens Point; a son, Joshua of Stevens Point; a brother, James (Anita) of Medford; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Brian Komarek Sr.
1956-2008
Brian J. Komarek Sr., 52, Town of Dewey, Portage County, died Wednesday, Sept. 10 at his residence. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 14 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford.
Brian Komarek was born September 22, 1956 in Wausau, to John and Jeanette (Zettler) Komarek Jr. He attended grade school in Athens and and later received his GED through Athens Public High School. After his education he moved to Stevens Point and worked at Lullabye Furniture Company.
In 1982 he married Sandy Bunkelman and they later divorced. He later married Michelle Kuehl, and they were later divorced. He moved to Lake Tomahawk and worked as a plant manager for Johnson Level and Tool Company, then later moved back to the Stevens Point area. He was currently employed as an administrator for CAP Services of Stevens Point.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include his children, Brian Jr. and Brianna Komarek, both of Lake Tomahawk, and Miranda Komarek of Wausau; his mother, Jeanette of Abbotsford; paternal grandmother, Marcella Komarek of Abbotsford; a brother, Terry (Glenda) of Wausau; and two sisters, Debra (Bobby) Rudolph of Unity and Lynette (Dale) Hanne of Gilman.

Henryetta Rust
June 16, 1917 - August 12, 2008
Henryetta was born to Kurt Rust and Pauline Thut on June 16, 1917 in the Town of Hammel, Wis. Henryetta departed this life on August 12, 2008, at 91 years of age.
She received her formal education in the Medford area and graduated from high school from a one-room schoolhouse.
Soon after graduation, Henryetta moved to Chicago, Ill. and enrolled in secretarial college and worked at Burroughs Typewriter and Machine Corporation for several years.
Henryetta joined the United States Women's Army Core in 1943 and honorably served her country with her new gained secretarial skills at a base in St. Louis, Mo., until October 1944.
Henryetta moved back to Chicago, and then Milwaukee a couple of years later to raise her daughter, Sandra. She reached out to her sister Charlotte and her husband Art Johnson to assist her in providing an opportunity for Sandra to experience the joy and beauty of country and farm living. Henryetta remained grateful to Charlotte and her family for welcoming her daughter into their family for many wonderful childhood summers.
In 1964 Henryetta moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and lived there for 42 years until returning to Milwaukee in 2006. She loved the warm sunny weather, vast ocean and beautiful beaches of Florida.
Henryetta worked in the restaurant business for over 35 years in both Milwaukee and Fort Lauderdale. She appreciated the flexibility that the profession offered.
Henryetta loved gardening, crafting, taking cruises to the Caribbean and politics. She felt that voting was one of the most important responsibilities of every citizen and made sure she read up on all current candidates and voted in every election except for the last few because she was too ill to do so.
Henryetta believed in God and while she did not attend church on a regular basis, she always believed that she would go to heaven upon her death.
Henryetta leaves to mourn her passing, yet cherish her memory, her beloved and devoted daughter, Sandra (Arthur) Malone; her precious granddaughter, Kim M. Chaffin, grandson, Jeffrey (Karen) Dercole, great-granddaughters, Casey and Alexandra Chaffiin, and great-grandsons, Anthony and Vincent Dercole, all of Milwaukee; sisters, Charlotte Bielke of Medford and Margaret Howe of Reston, Va.; and a host of other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept., 20 at 11 a.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Pastor Peter Warmanen officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II with graveside committal rites and military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her name be made to Hope Hospice of Medford and Rib Lake.

Russell Schlosser
1942-2008
Russell "Russ" D. Schlosser, 66, Plover, died Tuesday, Sept. 9 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Sept. 13 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, with Rev. James Trempe officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake at a later date.
Shuda Family Funeral Services of Plover assisted the family with arrangements.
Russell Schlosser was born March 26, 1942 in Medford to Raymond and Mildred (Johnson) Schlosser. He graduated from Rib Lake High School in 1960 and worked in Chicago, Ill. while attending DePaul University. He served in the United States Army from August 1966 to August 1968 when he was honorably discharged. He then worked in the mobile home industry in Stratford and Wausau.
On October 10, 1970 in Rib Lake, he married Nancy Jean Resudek, who survives. After earning his business degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, they moved to Plover where he worked as an individual life underwriter for Sentry Insurance until his retirement in September 2003.
He enjoyed working on his lawn and his cars.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Craig; his mother, Mildred of Rib Lake; a brother, Raymond Jr. (Mary Ann) of Rib Lake; and 11 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
