Ernest A. Butterfield
Ernest A. Butterfield, of Waukesha, born on June 25, 1911 in Washburn, WI, the son of Allen and Lola (nee Gardner) Butterfield, died on Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 90 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lorena (nee Bell), two brothers and two sisters.

He was a member of Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church. Ernest was a City of Waukesha alderman for 8 years. He was the original owner of Butterfield Trucking Co. He owned and operated Butterfield Motors, an American Motors Dealership for 20 years. Ernest was a lifetime member of the Elk’s Lodge 400. He was a proud member and supporter of the Republican Party at the state, local and national levels. He was a state champion bowler and sponsored several men’s and women’s bowling teams.

Ernest will be sadly missed by his children: Alyce (James) Carravetta of Racine, Oliver (Helen) Butterfield of Waukesha and Gene (Kathy) Butterfield of Franksville, WI, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Carmen Novotny, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ernest will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at 7:00 pm at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Pastors Michael Turriff, Charles Papenfuss and Harry Wiedmann will officiate. An Elk’s Lodge of Sorrow Service will immediately follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 23, 2002. Meet at the funeral home at 9:30 am. Memorials to the Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Elmer H. Golemgeske
Elmer H. Golemgeske, longtime Waukesha resident, Elmer H. Golemgeske, died on Friday, January 18, 2002 at the Virginia Health Care Center at the age of 91 years.

He was born in New Berlin, WI on February 19, 1910, the son of Louis & Amelia (nee Bartz) Golemgeske.

Elmer was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pewaukee. He was retired from Northwest Tool & Engineering Company in Butler, WI.

He is the beloved husband of Norma (nee Zahnow) Golemgeske to whom he was happily married for 65 years. He is the dear father of Gary (Andrea) Golemgeske of Sussex, Donna (Richard) Murphy of Menomonee Falls and Diane (Ray) Pulvermacher of Menomonee Falls. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Pastor Richard A. Krause will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials would be appreciated to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pewaukee.

Elmer’s family would like to offer a very special “Thank You” to the Virginia Health Care Center staff and all its’ workers, the chaplain and all the Odessey workers from Hospice. “ You’ve been so wonderful. We love you.”

Pearl E. (Gaga) Clem
Pearl E. (Gaga) Clem, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Wednesday January 9, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 82.

Gaga was born November 29, 1919 in Waukesha, the daughter of Harold and Hilda (nee Tans) Turkowski. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1938. She worked for the Jiffey Gel company right after high school, then went to the Boston Store in Waukesha, and then was the manager of the Chocolate House Candy Store in Waukesha for several years. On February 6, 1945 she married Bob Clem in Denton, Texas. She is a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Gaga loved and adored her family. She loved to go for rides in the car and she did not care where the trip ended. She also enjoyed eating out and had several favorite stops in the state of Wisconsin. She was a spitfire who never liked to sit still.

Gaga is survived by her husband: Bob Clem of Waukesha, Wisconsin, her daughter: Pamela (Geoffrey) Gauger of Waukesha, Wisconsin, her four (4) Grandchildren: Holly (Michael) Gross of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Emily (Andrew) Borgealt of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Lindsay Gauger of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Melissa Gauger of Waukesha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by three great grandchildren: Gavin and Grant Gross of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Geoffrey Borgealt of Waukesha, Wisconsin, her Brother: Melvin (June) Turkoski of Waukesha, Wisconsin, along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service celebrating Gaga's life will be Friday, January 11, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home in Waukesha. The Rev. Larry Gates of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha will be the officiant. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call on Friday January 11, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 P.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Memorials may be directed in her name to the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church-Growing To Serve Fund.

Gustave Georg
Gustave Georg, of Waupun, (formerly of Milwaukee), born on March 15, 1923 in Union City, New Jersey, the son of Gustave and Emily Georg Sr., died on Thursday, January 10, 2002 at St. Agnes Hospital at the age of 78 years.

He was a mechanic and cooked for the Weehawken Fire Department in New Jersey. Gustave moved from New Jersey to Milwaukee in 1956. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Gustave enjoyed cooking and fishing and his family. He made friends very easily. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, in 1988.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Janine (Charlie) Buehrens of Waukesha, his son, Dennis (Dorie) Georg of Randolf, WI, his dear friends, Dave and Colleen Huber of Waupun, WI. his sister, Eleanor (Paul) Russ of New Jersey, his niece, Lynne Russ of New Jersey, his grandchildren; Darryl (Michelle) Tonn of Milwaukee, Peter (Kim) Tonn of Pewaukee, Michael (Tracy) Tonn of Muskego, Dennis (Shannon) Georg of Hilbert, WI and Ricky (Crystal) Georg of Hilbert, WI, 11 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Gustave will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at 11:00 am at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery - Chapel of the Flowers. Pastor Terry Fulks will officiate. Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow the service at the cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Helen F. Buchert Anderson
Helen F. Buchert Anderson of Waukesha, born on February 3, 1911 in Jennings, WI, the daughter of Henry and Valeria (nee Stroinski) Foelker, died on Monday, January 14, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 90 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Helen worked as a grandparent at Bethesda in Watertown and the Wales School for Boys for many years and volunteered at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 6 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Erwin, her second husband, Andy, her daughter Joan Wilke, 7 sisters and 4 brothers.

She will be sadly missed by her sons; Dr. Edwin (Beverly) Buchert of Grove City, Penn, Kay (Nancy) Buchert of Beloit and Charles (Mary) Buchert of Slinger, her son-in-law, Donald Wilke of Waukesha, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Helen will be Thursday, January 17, 2002 at 3:00 pm at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Pastor Scott Oelhafen will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown. Memorials appreciated to the Trinity Lutheran Church School or Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown.

Leo T. Cypert
Leo T. Cypert, of Waukesha, was born to Eternal Life on January 9, 2002 at the age of 84 years.

Beloved husband of Evelyn (nee Mahlberg). Loving father of Jerry of Delavan, Thomas (Carol) of Menomonee Falls, and Mark (Mary) of West Bend. Dear Grandfather of Cassandra Barber, Theresa (Jeffrey) Fleury, Guy, Michael, Matthew and Peter Cypert. Great-grandfather of Adam, Jared, Carly and Payton. Brother in law of Paul (Marilyn) Mahlberg of Bloomington, In. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leo was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, a Veteran of World War II, a Retiree of the General Electric Co., a member of the Elfun Society, and the G.E. Quarter Century Club.

Funeral services are scheduled at Mt. Calvary, 1941 Madison St., Waukesha, WI, with the Rev. Michael Turriff officiating. Visitation is Friday, January 11, 2002 at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.. Internment Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, American Lung Assn., or charity of your choice appreciated.

Mary (Kay) Kathleen Martin
Mary (Kay) Kathleen Martin, age 44 of Little Chute, Wisconsin died unexpectedly Thursday December 27, 2001 in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Mary Kay was born August 24, 1957 in Hinsdale, Illinois a daughter of Clifford John and Clarice Marie (nee Ragan) Hickman. She graduated from the Lyons Township High School in LaGrange Illinois in 1975 and attended Southern Illinois University. On November 30, 1991, she married Tim Martin in West Bend, Wisconsin. Mary Kay owned and operated Professional Bookkeeping Service L.L.C. in Little Chute for 6 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband: James Leo Littrell on September 2, 1992 and her niece: Katrina Alexandria Hickman in September 22, 1994.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband: Timothy Martin of Little Chute, Wisconsin, her three children: Brooke Lee Martin of West Allis, Wisconsin, Chad Allen (Cathi) Martin of Jackson, Wisconsin and James Michael Littrell of Hartford, Wisconsin, her grandson: Dakota James Przybyla of West Allis, Wisconsin, and by her parents: Clifford John (Clarice Marie) Hickman of Waukesha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her six brothers and sisters: David John (Brigitte) Hickman of St. Nazianz, Wisconsin, Susan Mary (Mark) Sheldon of Burlington, Wisconsin, Judith Ann Hickman of Davie, Florida, Paul Stephen (Ruth) Hickman of Ortonville, Michigan, Theresa Lynn (Randall) Peterman of Cary, Illinois, and Steven Michael (Erika) Hickman of Waukesha, Wisconsin along with many beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She will also be missed by her beloved dog and companion, Brandy.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Kay is scheduled Wednesday January 2, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at St. William’s Catholic Church in Waukesha (440 N. Moreland Blvd.). Father Mark Payne will be the celebrant of the mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Wednesday January 2, 2002 at St. William Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of mass at 7:00 p.m. Memorials in Mary’s name may be directed to the Make A Wish Foundation (13195 West Hampton Avenue Butler, Wisconsin 53007) or to the Ronald McDonald House (8948 Watertown Plank Road Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53226).

Roy J. Christoph
Roy J. Christoph of Waukesha, age 85, died Wednesday, January 30th, 2002, at Franciscan Woods Nursing Home. He was born October 29, 1916 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Roy Julius Christoph and Mabel Hartwig.

He retired as Professor Emeritus Nov. 1, 1979 from the Department of Biology at Carroll College, Waukesha, WI, having taught Biology for 33 years.

Highlights of his career included; Professor and Chairman of Dept. of Biology at Carroll College 1956-1979, Pre-Medical Advisor 1955-1978, Director of Medical Technology 1960-1979, and Vice president of Bionomics Corp. a private consulting firm working in the areas of chemical and biological analysis, ecology, and aquatic studies. He also published numerous books and articles for the science and medical communities.

Honors and awards included: Graduated Senior High Honors, University of Wisconsin Madison Society of Sigma Xi, University of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation Fellowship 1955, Outstanding Conservationist Award Waukesha County 1964, Outstanding Teacher Carroll College and Professor Emeritus.

He was a commanding officer in the U.S Army Signal Corp. Division from 1941-46 specializing in cryptography and radio communications.

He is survived by his sister Hazel (Ted) Bayley (Madison), daughters Diane Christoph of Madison, Sue (Jack) Thiel of Waukesha, and sons Bruce (JoAnne) Christoph of Las Vegas, NV, and Doug (Laura) Christoph of Atlanta, GA. Additional survivors are grandchildren Geoffery and Marc Christoph, David, Steven, and Jenna McQuiston, Jared Thiel, and Andrew Christoph as well as other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia E. Christoph in December 7, 1983.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 2 at The First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI from 2-4:00 pm, followed by a church service from 4:00-5:00pm. A private burial will take place on Monday at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society/Breast Cancer or Alzheimers Assoc./Research.

Wanda C. Johnson
Wanda C. Johnson, of Port Richey, FL, formerly of West Allis, born November 16, 1917 in West Allis, WI, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (nee Wiatr) Borowski, died on Monday, January 7, 2002 at the North Bay Medical Center at the age of 84 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Claude, her daughter-in-law, Susan Johnson, her grandchildren; Linda (Ray) Del Ponte of Germantown and Scott (Penny) Johnson of Greenfield, her great grandchildren; David, Jacob, Maggie, Dana, Natalie, Derek and Laura. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Wanda will be Friday, January, 11, 2002 at 11:00 am at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home. Rev. William Johnson will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
