Jacob E. (Jake) Cotton, Sr.
Lifelong Waukesha resident, Jacob E. (Jake) Cotton, Sr., died Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at his Waukesha home at the age of 62 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha and was a truck driver for over 30 years. Jake enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and 2 dogs: Harry and ToTo. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed telling jokes.

Jake will be sadly missed by his best friend Chris. He is the dear father of Louise (Jeff) Hansen of Waukesha, Rebeca (Andres) Lozano of FL and Jacob E. Cotton, Jr. of Missouri Dear Son of Joseph Cotton, Sr. of Waukesha and the dear brother of Charles (Jean) Cotton of FL Paul Cotton, Michael (Teri) Cotton, Joe (Vicki) Cotton, Jr., Stef Alvarez, Carm (Andre) Alvarez, Judy (Jesse) Medina, Donna Moede, Mary Jo Schroeder, Karen (Jerome "Butch") Jones all of Waukesha Step - father of Kellie (Mike) Vetta and Kim (John) Seipel Loving grandfather of Cody, Haley and Hunter Hansen, Nicolo and Alejandro Lozano and Shanya Cotton and step - grandfather to Jennifer Janecke, Nick and Austin Vetta, Brooke, Ashley and Jamin Seipel. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Jake was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Cotton and his brothers Richard and Patrick. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the family.

Funeral Services for Jake will be Saturday, March 23, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home. Fr. Aurelio Perez will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 3:00 p.m. service at the funeral home. Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home is serving the family.

Joan B. Detlaf
Joan B. Detlaf, age 83 of Waukesha, died Monday May 28, 2001 at her home in Oak Hill Village.

Joan was born December 25, 1917 in Chicago, IL a daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine (nee Kowalczyk) Lizik. She graduated from Holy Family Academy. On February 16, 1947 she married Aloysius Detlaf in Chicago, Illinois. Joan had been active with the Girl Scouts and was a member of St. Beatrice Catholic Church in Schiller Park, Illinois. She retired from the Illinois Toolworks in 1982 and moved to Wisconsin in 1987. She enjoyed crafting, all the family gatherings, and was a wonderful seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Aloysius on February 7, 1974, her granddaughter: Samantha Detlaf , her Brother: Michael Lizik, and her Sister: Helen Stack.

She will be sadly missed by her three children: Barbara (Tom) Garibaldi of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Rosemary (Bernard) Dvorachek of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and John (Deborah) Detlaf of Huntley, Illinois. Joan is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Jennifer (Dale) Basler of Appleton, Wisconsin, Thomas Garibaldi of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Holly (fiancée Andrew Crow) Dvorachek of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Anna and Kate Dvorachek of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Emma and Zoë Detlaf of Huntley, Illinois. She is also survived by her Sister: Mary (Charles) Thiese of Chicago, Illinois, a brother-in-law: Roman Stack of Palos Heights, Illinois along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Joan is planned Friday June 1, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Beatrice Catholic Church in Schiller Park, Illinois. Father Jerry will be the celebrant of the mass. Visitation for Joan will be Thursday May 31, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home {9568 Belmont Avenue Franklin Park, Illinois 60131. (708) 678-1950} Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois.

The family is being served locally by the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Memorials in Joan's name may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Leukemia Society of America.

John C. Graf III
John C. Graf III, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 67 years with his wife of 40 years at his side. John was born on March 2, 1935 in Waukesha, the only son of John Calvin II and Edna Georgianna (nee Kruger) Graf. He married Darlene (nee Degner) on August 12, 1961.

John will be sadly missed by his wife: Darlene and his children: Wendy (Russ) Wilke, M.D. of Marshfield, WI, John C. (Wendy) Graf IV of Waukesha, one grandson: Warren Wilke, other relatives and many friends.

John proudly served his country for 8 years in the U.S. Army. He was a sales representative for John Deere Industrial Equipment and then went on to work as an assistant maintenance engineer for the Kettle Moraine School System until he retired. John was a member of Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, active in the Wales Hi Flyers 4 H and also a member of the Wales Planning Commission for 21 years.

John lived his life on his terms and those who knew him benefited from this. He fought his illness with good cheer and dignity. He loved his wife, family and friends with a kindness and genuine joy unknown to most of the world.

The funeral service for John will be on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, 1941 Madison St., Waukesha, WI. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Michael Turriff will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the family. Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home is serving the family.

Joe A. Kutschenreuter
Longtime Waukesha resident, Joe A. Kutschenreuter, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years. He was born on March 14, 1918 in Eagle, Wisconsin, the son of Herman & Rose (nee Kohler) Kutschenreuter.

Joe was a charter member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha. He was a veteran of WWII, having proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a carpenter's mate first class. He was a life time member of the Soat-Vergenz V.F.W. Post #721 in Waukesha.

Joe is the beloved husband of Marion (nee Howard) Kutschenreuter, whom he married on May 18, 1938. He is the dear father of Diane Fath of St. Petersburg, FL. He is the brother of Herman (Irene) Kutschenreuter of Pompano Beach, FL., Doddie Cushman of Boca Raton, FL., Eleanor Martens of Eagle, WI., and Sally Sinks of Palmyra, WI. He is the grandfather of Lisa (Jeff) Wehr, Lindy (Shawn) Swain, Lesley Shepherd and Leah Fath. He is the great grandfather of Harley, Grace & Jeffey Wehr, Holly, Amanda, Summer and Dustin Swain, and Casey Corbett. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Joanne Kurschenreuter and his sisters Agnes Clarkson and Mary, Virginia & Rosalie Kutschenreuter.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church preceded with a V.F.W. service at 10:45. Fr. Mark Payne will celebrate Mass. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha following Mass. Military honors will be provided at the cemetery by Soat-Vergenz V.F.W. Post # 721.

James S. Lortie
James S. Lortie, of Waukesha, born on February 20, 1942 in Waukesha, the son of Gervise and Ann (nee Yustin) Lortie, died Saturday, September 29, 2001 at home at the age of 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Doris, whom he married on December 3, 1966, his daughters; Wendi Lortie of Waukesha and Kandi Lortie of Minneapolis, MN, his very special grandson, Michael “Mikey”, his brother, Tony (Cathy) Lortie of California, his sister, Sandy Lortie of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 4, 2001 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

James Roger Lowe
James Roger Lowe, age 88 of Waukesha, died Tuesday September 4, 2001 at the Heartland Health Care Center of Pewaukee.

James was born October 21, 1912 in Waterloo, Wisconsin a son of the late Harry and Liddia (nee Englke) Lowe.

James graduated from Waterloo High School in 1931 and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a BS degree in Soil Science in 1941. On April 20, 1939 he married Clara Burchhardt. After graduation, James worked for the Farm Security Administration in Crandon, Wisconsin. In 1942, he then enlisted in the United States Air Force and was an Electronic Instructor at Truax Field. In 1944 he joined the United States Navel Reserve and served as a commissioned officer aboard the U.S.S. San Pablo in the Pacific Area. In 1947 he was employed as the Treasurer at the Federal Land Bank (National Farm Loan Association). In 1953 James started a real estate and building business in Waukesha and also helped develop land. He served as President of the Waukesha Real Estate Association, was also a state director of the Wisconsin Realtors Association, and also served as a director in the Metropolitan Builders Association. In 1974 James semi retired from the Real Estate and Building Business. James is also a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Clara on July 25, 2001, his son: David E. Lowe, his grandson: Scott Hennings, and a brother: Harry Lowe.

James is survived by his daughter: Barbara Hennings of Madison, Wisconsin, a brother: Eugene Lowe of Waterloo, Wisconsin, along with four grandsons.

A memorial service for James will be Sunday September 9, 2001 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home in Waukesha. The Rev Dwight Bastian, co-pastor of First United Methodist Church in Waukesha will be the officiant. James' wish was that his body be donated to science. Following cremation, burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday September 9, 2001 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Memorials in James' name may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Waukesha (121 Wisconsin Avenue Waukesha, WI. 53186). Jeffrey G. Lundy
Jeffrey G. Lundy, age 39 of Waukesha, died Wednesday May 29, 2002 at his home. He was born July 28, 1963 in Salinas, California a son of William Lewis and Catherine Barbara (nee Zimmerman) Lundy.

He attended Mukwonago High School and also attended WCTC Welding Degree program. Since 1984 he worked for Waukesha Roofing. He loved to work on remote control airplanes and helicopters, woodworking and cooking. He also enjoyed the outdoors and camping. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Lorraine Zimmerman.

Jeffrey is survived by his two children, Joell Lundy and Jeffrey Lundy, both of Waukesha; his parents, William and Catherine Lundy of Big Bend, Wisconsin; his three brothers and sisters, Amy (Jason) Polsin of Lowell, Wisconsin, Ted (Sandra) Lundy of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Steven Lundy of Big Bend, Wisconsin; his paternal grandparents, Wilfred (Louise) Lundy of the Town of Waukesha; his four nieces and nephews, Katie and Jacob Polsin, and Megan and Nathan Lundy; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Jeffrey will be Saturday June 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday June 1, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

John C. Meingast
John C. Meingast, Of Milwaukee, Born on October 2, 1955 in Milwaukee, the son of Frank and Louise (nee Rosenberger) Meingast, died on Sunday, July 1, 2001 at the age of 45 years.

He will be sadly missed by his parents of Nashotah; his sisters, Virginia (Michael) Price and Patricia (Kevin) Bradley, both of Pewaukee; and also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A visitation for John will be on Friday, July 6, 2001 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Call 542-6609.

Johanna Marie (Anna) Rutledge
Johanna Marie (Anna) Rutledge, of Waukesha, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the age of 85 years.

She will be missed by her children: Cindy (Michael) Neiman of Wales Terry (Cory) Rutledge of Waukesha and Christine (Keith) Adams of Eagle her grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Anna will be Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the River of Life Bible Church 506 N. Washington Ave. Waukesha, WI Rev. Curt Liebl will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. The VFW Auxillary will have a service at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Wales, WI Memorials are appreciated to the River of Life Bible Church - Music Ministry.

Kenneth J. Keough
Waukesha resident, Kenneth J. Keough, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at the Virginia Health Care Center at the age of 80 years. Mr. Keough was formerly of Milwaukee and had worked at the Louis-Allis Corporation. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy.

He is the beloved father of Thomas (Alice) Keough of Pewaukee, Kevin (Mary) Keough of Sheboygan, James (Patricia) Keough of Milwaukee, and Karen (Erich) Uebersohn of Stone Bank, WI. He is the dear brother of Eileen Coulson of Milwaukee and Laureen (Melvin) Sharpe of Peshtigo. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Kerri (Dean) Warsh, Kim Palke, Debbie Palke, Tony, Rachael and Alec Uebersohn, Aleah Keough, Beth Keough & Kurt (Jenny) Keough. He is also survived by his great grandson Michael Palke and his great granddaughter Lyla Palke, as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at 4 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home, 6615 W. Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee. Fr. Mark Payne will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorials would be appreciated to either The Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association.
