Suzanne M. Ripley
Suzanne M. Ripley, of Waukesha, born on October 16, 1982 in Waukesha, died on Sunday, April 28, 2002 at the age of 19 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was baptized, received her First Communion and was confirmed. She graduated from Waukesha South High School in 2001 She loved to spend time with her brothers and sisters. She was a lover of sports, tennis and softball were her favorites. She worked at Walgreens for 2 years and became a Certified Pharmacy Technician’s Assistant.

She will be sadly missed by her mother, Angela (John) Schmitt, her father, Thomas Ripley Sr., her sisters, Alissa (Jason Detaeje) Ripley and Madison Schmitt, her brothers; Anthony Ripley and Johnny Schmitt, her grandparents; Angel and Marilyn Gonzales and Herbert and Helene Ripley, her niece, Sierra Detaeje, her very close friends; Margarita, Sara, Margo, Andrea and Allison, aunts, uncles, other relatives, many friends and her friends from work. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Ripley Jr.

A Mass for Suzanne will be on Thursday, May 2, 2002 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Visitation will be at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:00 am to 9:30. A parish vigil will be at 7:00 pm. on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.

Thomas H. Davis
Thomas H. Davis, age 62 of Pewaukee, died on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002 at Franciscan Woods Health Care Center in Brookfield.

Thomas was born June 18, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin a son of the late Harold and Kathryn (nee Barnes) Davis. He graduated from Milwaukee Boys Tech High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He proudly served with the United States Marines. On July 11, 1965, he married Katherine A. Koegel. Thomas was a product engineer for 27 years and enjoyed his career; but even more important to him was his family.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years: Katherine A. Davis of Pewaukee, his two daughters: Theresa M. (Tom) Schiessl of Waukesha, and Allison (Jim Perz) Davis of Kenosha. Beloved Pappy of Alexandra and Hannah Schiessl of Waukesha. He is also survived by two sisters: Lucy Kerecman of California and Nancy (Jim) Yant of Indiana along with other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister: Patricia Mor.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 3, 2002 at St. Anthony on The Lake Catholic Church (W280 N2101 Prospect Ave. Pewaukee, WI) Father Tom Venne will be the Celebrant of the mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call on Wednesday April 3, 2002 from 5 p.m. until the time of the mass at church. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha is serving the family.

Vivian Leah Carpenter-Doyle
Vivian Leah Carpenter-Doyle, age 83 of Mukwonago died Wednesday February 6, 2002 at her home.

Vivian was born January 6, 1919 a daughter of George and Leah Mae (nee LeVernois) Lester in the Rainy Lake District of Ontario, Canada where her father ran a sawmill for 12 years. The family then moved to Forest County Wisconsin for 5 years, running the sawmill at White Lake, Wisconsin, and onto Sheboygan for several years before moving to Waukesha. Vivian graduated from Waukesha High School in 1936. On June 4, 1939 she married Arthur Patrick Doyle at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waukesha, WI. She loved art, and also enjoyed sciences, especially the engineering and physics fields. She was a late bloomer, not getting her drivers license until the age of 60. She started painting on canvas at age 65 and loved to paint children. She also loved to tell stories and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Arthur in 1974, 4 brothers: Clyde, Lincoln, Vernon, and Leon Carpenter, and two granddaughters: Monica and Michelle Piwaron.

Vivian is survived by her 7 children: Patricia (Arthur) Dean of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Genevieve "Jenny" (Don) Pike of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Vivian Ann (Donald) Hamp of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Arthur (Karen) Doyle of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Jane Piwaron-Doyle of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Beth (Bill) DeMeyer of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, and Connie (Greg) Tobin of Montello, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren: Patricia L. Dean, David (Joan) Pike, Mary (Clint) Beardsley, Sherryl (Joe) Graczyk, Christine (Dan) Waschow, Andrew Pike, Donald (Paula) Hamp, Jr., Michael (Sandy) Hamp, Shawn (Cindy) Hamp, Angela (Mike) Ksioszk, Melissa (Ante) Udovicic, Melanie (Joe) Holsten, Rebecca DeMeyer, Billy DeMeyer, Amy DeMeyer, Leah Doyle, and Ryan Doyle along with 16 great grandchildren, her sister Joyce Wachendorf and other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. on Sunday February 10, 2002 from 2 p.m., until 4:00 p.m. to celebrate Vivian's life. Private burial in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha, Wisconsin. For more information, please call (262) 542-6609.

Viola L. Elias
Viola L. Elias of Waukesha, died on Monday, May 20, 2002 , at the age of 88.

She is survived by her children: Marlene Elias and Richard (Mary) Elias both of Waukesha, and Donna (Eric) Groenke of Oconomowoc; her daughter-in-law, Carole Elias of Tucson, AZ; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Stan) Narewski of St. Francis and Grace Eltag of Milwaukee; brother-in-law, Elmer (Oris) Elias of Mendota, IL, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service for Viola will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Virginia S. (Gina) Halama
Virginia S. (Gina) Halama, age 86 of Waukesha died Saturday July 14, 2001 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 12, 1915 in Polar, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (nee Gruenberg) Waite. On November 3, 1934 she married Victor Halama in Polar. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1990. She was a loving mother who supported her daughters. She worked at Hatch's Tap as a cook and Schultz Brothers. She had been active in Girl Scouting. She loved to garden, bike and sew. She was also preceded in death by her sister: Beatrice Waite, a brother: Russell Waite, and a grandchild: Marlin "Butch" Wenzel and two Great grandsons: Travis and Josh.

Virginia is survived by her five daughters: Jeanne Halama of LaGrange, Illinois, Mary (Marvin) Wenzel of Oconto, Wisconsin, Kathy (Mark) Stevens of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Vicki (Tim) Hunkins of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Rose (Jeff) Brown of Waukesha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren: Rick, Chuck, Jeff, Joy, Dianna, Dwayne, Tela, Carol, Mary, Dawn, Donna, Dan, Tony, Paula, Tim, Sara, and Courtney. She also is survived by her 40 great grandchildren, her brother: Lawrence (Rosalie) Waite in Polar, Wisconsin and also her sister: Althea Waite of Polar, Wisconsin along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Virginia will be Tuesday July 17, 2001 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Verna Mae Strunk
Longtime Waukesha resident, Verna Mae Strunk, died suddenly on Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 73 years. She was born on April 10, 1928 in Sparta, WI., the daughter of Adolph & Hattie (nee Voigt) Schober.

Verna was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She was a member of Aid Association for Lutherans, Branch 27 and Volunteered for Lutherans for Life and at the Wisconsin Lutheran Synod Building in Milwaukee. She was a nursing assistant at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 26 years, having retired in 1984 and later worked for the Waukesha School System, retiring in 1997.

Verna is the beloved wife of Marvin, whom she married on June 17, 1950. She is the dear mother of Kathleen (John) Heinitz of Wind Lake, WI., Charlene Morrison of Norway, MI., Wesley (Kristen) Strunk of West Bend, WI., Jeffrey (Jo Ann) Strunk of Rhinelander, WI., and Lesley (Pamela) Strunk of Oconomowoc, WI. She is the sister of Harlan (Doris) Schober of Sparta, WI., Eunice (Albert) Grabhorn of Rockland, WI., and Delores (Gordon) Olson of Onalaska, WI. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave., Waukesha. Pastor Glen Schaumberg will officiate. Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home,237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI., on Thursday, March 7, 2002 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin. Memorials would be appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Growing to Serve Program or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.

William E. (Bubba) Hoeft
William E. (Bubba) Hoeft of the Town of Genesee died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at the age of 41 years.

He was born March 1, 1960, the son of Donald & Frances (nee Rossetto) Hoeft. He was a sales representative for Club's Choice Fundraising. He is the beloved husband of Susan (nee Rewolinski) Hoeft and the dear father of Alison Hoeft. Dear son of Donald & Frances Hoeft, grandson of Mae Rossetto. Brother of Cathy (Steve) Fonstad, Mike (Suzanne) Hoeft, Steve (Judy) Hoeft and Cindy (Robert) Flores. Son-in-law of Richard & Pat Rewolinski. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled Friday, July 27, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 58th & Forest Home Ave. in Milwaukee. Friends may call at church on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be Friday in Salem Cemetery in Wales, WI at 3 p.m. (please meet at cemetery). In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the trust fund for the children of Susan & William Hoeft at any branch of the Firstar Bank.

Alvera O. Anderson
Alvera O. Anderson, age 84 of Pewaukee, formerly of Waukesha, died Monday January 14, 2002 at the River Hills Health Care Center in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

Alvera was born October 25, 1917 in Morris, Minnesota a daughter of the late Lester and Jessie (nee Sckanks) Getchell. She retired from Waukesha Rubber Company. She is a member and Past President of the Waukesha Eagles’s Club Auxiliary #453 in Waukesha. She had also been the Past President of the Ritual Team at the Eagle’s Club Auxiliary. Alvera loved to garden, especially tend to her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Bennie E. Anderson on May 25, 1981, and her two brothers: Jack and Clarence Getchell.

era is survived by her two sons: LuVerne Anderson of North Prairie, Wisconsin and Merlyn (Barbara) Anderson of New Berlin, Wisconsin, three grandchildren: Steven (Lynn Tracy) Anderson of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Susan (Marko) Hilger of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Andy (Chris) Anderson of Delafield, Wisconsin. She will also be missed by her three Great Grandchildren: Marisah Hilger, Allyson and Eryca Anderson of Delafield, Wisconsin, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral Service for Alvera will be Thursday January 17, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd in Waukesha. The Rev. James Wilch, Pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waukesha will be the officiant. The Waukesha Eagle’s Auxiliary #453 will hold their Service of Remembrance at 5:30 P.M. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha at 10:30 a.m. (please meet at Cemetery office). Friends may call on Thursday January 17, 2002 at the funeral home on Moreland Blvd. from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Waukesha Eagles Club in her name.

David A. Klinger
David A. Klinger, age 37 of Waukesha, died Friday April 4, 2003. David was born February 15, 1966 in Dearborn Michigan, only son of John Ronald and Joan (nee Mitchusson) Klinger.

He was a 1984 graduate of Rochester Hills, Michigan High School. He graduated from Albion College in Michigan in 1989. On August 27, 1994 he married Patricia Heflin in South Bend, Indiana . He had worked for Summit Enviromental Solutions in Waukesha, Handex of Wisconsin of New Berlin, Wisconsin and currently was employed at Secor International as a professional Senior Geologist. He loved his wife, his two children and he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Dave was preceded in death by his grandfather: John Klinger.

David is survived by his wife: Patricia Klinger of Waukesha, Wisconsin, his son: Nicholas Klinger and daughter Gretchen Klinger, both at home. He is also survived by his parents: Ronald and Joan Klinger of Victoria, Minnesota, his sister: Pamela and Michael Horn of Chanhassen, Minnesota, his parents-in-law: James and Renae Heflin in Edwardsburg, Michigan. He is also survived by his grandparents: Guthrie and Stella Mitchusson of Paducah, Kentucky, Ruth Klinger of Dallas, Texas along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial for David will be held Tuesday April 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. William's Catholic Church in Waukesha (440 N. Moreland Blvd) Father Leonard Barbian will be the celebrant of the mass. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Wales, Wisconsin. Friends may visit at the church from 9 am until the time of the mass at 11:00 a.m. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha is serving the family. Arlene A. Frailing
Arlene A. Frailing, age 91, died Wednesday March 19, 2003 at the Avalon Square in Waukesha. She was the daughter of Andrew and Louisa (nee Maltzahn) Wastel, born October 3, 1911 in Shawano, Wisconsin.

She attended schools in the area, graduated from Shawano High School in 1929, and immediately started working for J.C. PENNEY CO. On May 17, 1931, she married George Frailing in Shawano. In 1955, the couple joined Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and was an active member until later years. She helped organize the Ladies Guild and Prime Timers at the church.

In 1942, the family moved to Clintonville, Wisconsin where she was employed as a sales lady at the Clintonville Mercantile Co. In 1955, the couple moved to Waukesha where she was employed at Waukesha Motors as a secretary, retiring in 1976. The following year, she started working at the Avalon Manor and worked as a receptionist until her health began to fail. In 1986, she moved to the Avalon Manor to make her home. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1971, one brother: Lawrence Wastel and two sisters: Sarah Wastel and Leona Krause.

Arlene is survived by her daughter: Donna (Raymond) Holdsworth of Manilla, Iowa, four Grandchildren: Gerald Holdsworth of Mesquite, Nevada, Susan (Donald) Ballantine of Oak Grove, Kentucky, Andrew Holdsworth of Manning, Iowa, and Mark (Janet) Holdsworth of Manilla, Iowa, seven great grandchildren: Kyle, Aaron, Kiley, and Adam Holdsworth, Ian, Taylor, and Piper Ballantine, a brother: Gilbert (Margaret) Wastel of Monroe, Wisconsin, a sister-in-law: Wilma Frailing of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial Service celebrating Arlene's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday March 22, 2003 at Avalon Manor (222 Park Place) in Waukesha. The Rev. Timothy Bruss will be the officiant. Friends may call at the Avalon Square in Waukesha from 2:30 P.M. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Private graveside services were held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (1205 S. East Avenue Waukesha 53186) or to Avalon Square.
