Chester R. Mraz
Chester R. Mraz, 87, of Pound died Sunday, November 19, 2000 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Shawano. He was born to the late Jacob and Anna Mraz March 26, 1913 in Pound. Chester married the former Ruby Malkovich in March of 1953 in Milwaukee, WI. Surviving are his wife, Ruby; two brothers, Jacob, Jr., Ohio; Frank, DePere; and one sister, Anna Shevy, Menominee, MI. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. Chester was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Bill and Fred and one sister, Ella. Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, Friday, November 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services were held at 12 noon at the funeral home with Fr. Harold Beerntsen officiating. Interment at Fort Howard Cemetery, Green Bay.

Richard L. Hoida
Richard L. Hoida, 57, of N 2693 S. 11th Rd., Coleman died Sunday, November 19, 2000 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette after a brief illness. The son of Sylvester and Eileen Belisle Hoida was born December 5, 1942 at Marinette. Richard was a 1961 graduate of Coleman High School and was married to the former Nancy Grosse on April 11, 1964 at the former St. John Catholic Church, Coleman. He was Director of Public Works for the Village of Coleman for 27 years. He was a member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman; former member of the Coleman Fire Dept. and the Coleman-Pound Lions Club. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Hoida; two sons, Todd Hoida of Coleman and Tony Cynthia Hoida of Coleman; his mother, Eileen Hoida of Coleman; two grandsons, two stepgranddaughters; and one brother, Lynn Janice Hoida of Pound. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Hoida. Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of funeral services at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. John Hephner will officiate. Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Coleman.

Martha Amanda Elsie Ewaldt Kamka
Martha Amanda Elsie Ewaldt Kamka, 84, of Peshtigo, died on Friday, November 17, 2000 at Rennes Health Center West in Peshtigo. She was born on May 25, 1916 to the late Otto and Erna Marquardt Ewaldt in the Town of Peshtigo. She also attended Washington School in the town of Peshtigo. She married William A. Kamka on November 20, 1937. She was a part-time employee in the kitchen of the Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center in Peshtigo for ten years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was also a member of the County Line Homemakers for many years and the County Line Sewing Circle. She was an excellent seamstress, cook and homemaker. She loved making clothing and craft for her children and grandchildren. She also loved music and dancing. Survivors include two sons, Vilas Sharon Kamka of Peshtigo; Roger Darlene Pluger Kamka of Oconto; two daughters, Yvonne Jerome Deschaine of Appleton; Jan Bruce Netzer of Lena; two sisters, Leona Clement Schahczenski and Doris Ewaldt; one brother, Willard Ewaldt; twelve grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home. Funeral service was conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo. Pastor David Zahn officiated. Burial at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette.

June Olsheske
June Olsheske, 81, of Luther Home, Marinette and formerly of Milwaukee died Wednesday, November 15, 2000. The daughter of the late John and Emily Frievalt Lentz was born June 1, 1919 at Pound. She worked at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee for 30 years. On June 30, 1945 she was married to Clarence Olsheske in Milwaukee. She was a member of an Assembly of God Church, Milwaukee. Surviving are Clarence Olsheske, Oconto Falls; two sons-in-law, Carl Mascari of Brookfield and John Schelling of Hawaii; five grandchildren; one sister, Helen Kostreva of Pound, and one brother, David Lentz of Three Lakes, MI. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Schelling and Maureen Mascari, and two brothers, Henry and Ray Lentz. Friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of services. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment in the First Baptist Cemetery, Pound.

Frank Kondro
Frank Kondro, 78, Coleman, died Monday, November 13, 2000 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls. The son of the late William and Minnie Kostreva Kondro was born September 27, 1922 in the Town of Brazeau. Frank was married to the former Ethel Sloup on April 14, 1945 at Spruce. He was employed at Graetz Mfg. Co., Pound for 35 years and also worked for the Friday Canning Co., Gillett for about five years. His wife, Ethel, preceded him in death on May 28, 1999. Surviving are one son, Jim Lois Kondro of Coleman; two daughters, Jane Hutchingson and friend, Ken Behnke of Gillett; and Jeanette Kondro of Coleman; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian of Green Bay and Stella of Pound; his fishing buddy, Karen Grosse and honorary granddaughter, Kimberly Behnke. Friends called at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman from 10:30 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Funeral service was held at 12 noon on Thursday at the church with Rev. John Hephner officiating. Interment in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, Klondike. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman assisted the family with arrangements.

Joan M. Goffard
Joan M. Goffard, Lakewood WI formerly of Kimberly, died on Sunday, November 12, 2000 at the Appleton Medical Center at the age of 69. Joan was born July 21, 1931 in Negaunee, MI, daughter of the late Sherburn and Rose Bertuccl Remillard. On November 13, 1954 she married William Goffard, Sr. in Kimberly; he survives. Joan was an avid card player and bingo player and enjoyed spending time and playing games with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the birds and the deer at the family home in Oconto County. She is survived by her husband, Bill Goffard, Sr. of Lakewood; three sons, William Goffard, Jr. of Kimberly; Bob Debbie Goffard of Darboy; Bruce Kerry Goffard of Kimberly; a daughter, Beth Mike Wettstein of Kimberly; eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Dorothy Remillard of Negaunee, MI and Thomas JoAnne Remillard of Las Vegas; three sisters, Clem Manzoline of Ishpeming, MI; Pat Rynissma of Jacksonville, NC ; Esther Ray Hakenjos of Negaunee, MI; a sister-in-law, Theresa Bertucci of Ishpeming; two brothers-in-law, Don Maas of Darboy and David Godlssart of Maryland. Joan is further survived by Bill's brother and sisters: Norbert Goffard of St. Paul, MN; Gen Western of Little Chute; Doris Larry Rothe of Appleton, and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian "Butch" Goffard, sisters Mary Lou Maas and Rose Godlssart; a brother, Jack Bertuccl; a sister-in-law, Florence Goffard, and brothers-in-law Paul Manzoline, Bob Tynissma, and Glen Western. The funeral liturgy for Joan was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, at Holy Name Catholic Church, 600 East Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Friends called directly at the church on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the hour of the liturgy.
Our Grandma held a special bond with each and every one of us. We all spent a lot of time with her and our grandpa up at the cottage. She was a wonderful person and meant so much to all of us. We will never forget her and her "purple pants." Grandma, we love you. -Love, your grandchildren.

Mrs. Hugh Jeanne Herald
Mrs. Hugh Jeanne Herald, of Lady Lake, FL, formerly of Milwaukee, WI, died at her home on November 2, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeanne was born in Bear Creek, WI, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Casey Mullarkey. She married Hugh Herald on July 4, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek, WI. The couple retired to Lady Lake, FL, in 1987 and were members of St. Timothy Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband Hugh, Lady Lake; one brother, Loy Rosemary Mullarkey, Bear Creek; one brother-in-law, Jack Alva Herald, Oconto; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lyle Dickinson, Kathyn Herald, Mrs. Mike Herald, Green Bay; Mrs. Frank Herald, Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews. A prayer service was held in Lady Lake on Tuesday, November 7, and a Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, WI at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, with her nephew Rev. Father Mullarkey officiating. Beyers Funeral Chapel, Lady Lake, assisted with arrangements.
Memorials to be given to Cancer Society and Cancer Hospice.

Joyce Ann Zilz
Joyce Ann Zilz, 65, Oconto Falls, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff. She was born April 1, 1935; daughter of the late Harold and Marion Brickel Pophal. Joyce was an engineering secretary for Scott Paper Company in Oconto Falls until retiring, then took a part time secretary job for Dave Anderson Accounting in Abrams. She enjoyed cross country skiing, hunting for waterfalls, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading and going up north. Survivors include one son, Doug 'Skip' Pam Zilz, Green Bay; one stepson, Dr. Nate Hien Zilz, Rochester, MN; two grandchildren, Britney and Dalton; one sister, Dawn Gering, Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harold "Dale" Pophal. The Funeral Mass was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Stephen Gross presided. Burial in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends called on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau was in charge of arrangements.
