Betty J. Stimart
Betty J. Stimart, age 75 of Waukesha died Wednesday February 19, 2003 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born April 20, 1927 in Medford, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Karl Henry and Jennifer Haenel.

She attended Medford High School. On January 18, 1958 she married Orville "Big O" Stimart in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The couple moved to Waukesha in 1960. On September 23, 1992, Orville preceded her in death. Betty enjoyed bowling at Fracaro' s. Besides her parents and her husband; she was also preceded in death by her ten (10) brothers and sisters: Caroline Wilmont, Lyle, Gilbert, Junior, James and Roland Haenel, Annie Hartman, Unis Berger, Leda Molzner, and Virginia Detzler.

Betty is survived by her four (4) children: Edward (Diane) Cummings, Bruce (Patricia) Cummings, Gregory (Denise) Stimart, and Jennifer Stimart, all of Waukesha. She is also survived by her eight (8) grandchildren: Ryan, Chad, Nicole, Jason, and Jared Cummings, Kaylee, Ashley, and Carly Stimart, all of Waukesha along with other relatives and friends.

The Stimart family would like to thank the RollandNelson Crossroads Hospice for their gentile care of mom.

The funeral celebrating Betty's life will be held Sunday February 23, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha. The Rev. Richard Engen of Christ The Servant Lutheran Church in Waukesha will be the officiant. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Sunday February 23 from 2 P.M. to the time of services at 5 p.m. at the funeral home on Moreland Blvd. Memorials in Betty's name may be directed to the RollandNelson Crossroads Hospice (1020 James Drive Hartland, WI. 53029).

Brigette Kay Zoeller
Lifelong Waukesha resident, Brigette Kay Zoeller, died on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at the age of 24 years. Brigette was a strong Christian and a lifetime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha.

She graduated from Waukesha West High School and UW-Whitewater where she earned her degree in Social Work. She went on to receive her Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Brigette dedicated all of her time to helping others, both through her profession and socially.

Brigette is the beloved wife of Brian whom she married on May 26, 2001 in Waukesha. She is the dear mother of the late Dakota Tigger Zoeller who was born on January 8, 2003 and died on January 9, 2003. She is the dear the daughter of Robert & Lorraine Ferris of Waukesha and the sister of Tiffany (Erik) Lorenz of Madison. Brigette is the daughter-in-law of Wayne Bohl and Mary Bohl, both of Oconto, WI. She is the granddaughter of Roy Ferris of Indiana polis, IN and Myrtle Pfeiffer of Crandon, WI. Brigette is the sister-in-law of Kevin (Kim), Beth and Wendy Zoeller, Carrie Shallow and John Bohl. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by Brian's parents Sylvester and Rosemary Zoeller.

Combined funeral services for Brigette and her son, Dakota Tigger, will be held Sunday, January 12, 2003 at 5 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave., Waukesha. Pastor Scott Oelhafen will officiate. Friends may visit on Sunday at church in the Trinity Room from 1 to 5 p.m. Interment will be Monday, January 13, 2002. A procession will begin from Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday at 10 a.m. and proceed to Salem Cemetery in Wales. Memorials would be appreciated to Brigette's family to be used for the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and other memorials.

Christopher D. Carpenter
Lifelong Waukesha resident, Christopher D. Carpenter, died on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Select Specialty Hospital Services at West Allis Memorial Hospital at the age of 28 years. He was born in Waukesha on July 6, 1973, the son of David J. and Patricia N. (nee McGuire) Carpenter.

Chris was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha. He graduated from Waukesha North High School in 1992. He was also a four time State Gold Medal Winner in the Special Olympics Wheel Chair Division.

He is the beloved son of Dave and Patty Carpenter of Waukesha and the dear brother of Jay Carpenter, living at home. He will be sadly missed by his maternal grandmother Grace McGuire of Waukesha and paternal grandmother Phyllis Carpenter of New Berlin. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Bernard McGuire and paternal grandfather Daniel Carpenter.

Funeral services for Chris will be Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd.in Waukesha. Fr. Mark Payne will celebrate Mass. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Carl W. Grunske
Carl W. Grunske, age 84 of Waukesha, died Wednesday October 30, 2002. He was born June 1, 1918 in the Town of Rubicon a son of the late Herman and Hedwig (nee Trittin) Grunske.

On July 15, 1939 he married Bernice Marie Zirbel in Woodland, Wisconsin. He worked as a welder at Stolper-Fabralloy Company in Menomonee Falls for 43 years, retiring in 1983. He is a Charter Member of the Reformation Ev. Lutheran Church in Genesee Depot, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years Bernice Grunske on July 1, 1989, and six brothers and sisters: Hoard, Hester Ruehl, Herman, Hattie, Luciel Margelofsky, and Richard.

Carl is survived by his son Curtis (Mary) Grunske of Waukesha, two grandsons: Mark (Mary) Grunske of Waukesha and Mike (Vanessa) Grunske of Greendale, WI. along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Grunske family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Hill Terrace for their support and care of Carl.

The funeral service for Carl will be held Thursday October 31, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha. The Rev. Wayne Meier of the Reformation Ev. Lutheran Church will be the officiant. Private family burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday October 31, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at 8:00 p.m. Memorials in Carl’s name may be directed to the Reformation Ev. Lutheran Church (P.O. Box 316 Genesee Depot, WI. 53127).

Charles (Charlie) J. Schwartz
Charles (Charlie) J. Schwartz, of Waukesha, died on Friday, February 28, 2003 at Memorial Hospital of Oconomowoc at the age 94 years. Charlie was born on July 31, 1908 in Troy Center, WI the son of Victor and Nellie (Puetz) Schwartz.

Charlie will be sadly missed by his wife: Marion his children: Sheryll (Randy) Shaddock of Nashotah, WI and Christine Koss of Waukesha Grandchildren: Tara and Stephanie Bourgeois, Hope Hannon and Joe Koss his Brothers: Ronald Schwartz of Milwaukee and Victor (Joyce) Schwartz Jr. of Monroe, WI his Sisters: Dorothy, Nellie and Catherine Schwartz all of Milwaukee. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Charlie proudly served as the Troy Town Board Chairman, the Walworth County Board Supervisor and volunteered for the Fire Dept. in Troy Center. Charlie enjoyed farming for over 44 years and then went on to work for the Equity Co-op. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

The funeral mass for Charlie will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 822 N. East Avenue Waukesha. Fr. John Lukaszewicz officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Memorials are appreciated to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or The Interfaith Caregiving Network. Burial will immediately follow the mass on Tuesday at Valhalla Memorial Park Milwaukee, WI.

Clifford (Art) Young
Clifford (Art) Young, of Waukesha. Born on January 3, 1913 in Eagle, WI, the son of Marion and Emma (nee Wood) Young, died on Friday, March 21, 2003 at Linden Grove Health Care Center at the age of 90 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Art was a farmer in the Mukwonago area and a custodian for Waukesha South High School and Waukesha North High School. Prior to moving to the Linden Grove Health Care Center Art lived with his niece Sandra in Waukesha.

He will be sadly missed by his brother, Alvin Young of Mukwonago, his nieces, Sandra Young of Waukesha Kathleen Bensing of Saukville Janet Baron of Waukesha Rita Lurvey of Dousman his nephews, Donald Young of Nekoosa Kenneth Young of Waukesha his brother-in-law Fred Rankin of Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruby in May of 1995 his brothers, Thomas and George, Sisters, Evelyn and Leilah and his nephew, Thomas.

Funeral services for Art will be held on Monday, March 24, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home 237 N. Moreland Blvd Waukesha. Rev. Dwight Bastian officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are appreciated to the Linden Grove Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI.

David R. Aushwitz
David R. Aushwitz, age 59 of Waukesha, died Friday November 29, 2002 at his home surrounded by his family. David was born April 15, 1943 in Waukesha a son of the late Theodore “Ted” and Margaret (nee Urban) Aushwitz.

He graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 1961 and from Carroll College in 1966. While in high school and college he played football. After graduation in 1966, he married Virginia Irvine. David went on to earn his MBA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and later received his CFA. He is a former Portfolio Manager/Director of Research at M & I Bank in Milwaukee, past president of Arnold Investment Counsel and, in 1997, he started his own business- DRA Capital Management, Inc. He had a lifelong passion for investing in the financial markets. He was a gifted money manager whose real love was researching companies. He also enjoyed prospecting in real estate. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed nature. He especially loved fishing Muskies on the Manitowish Chain of Lakes in Vilas County. He was also very proud of his children, accomplishments that they received from their education and their lives. David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John. He had a special relationship with each of his four grandsons. Everything he did was 200%, done his way and done well.

David is survived by his loving wife Virginia Aushwitz of Waukesha, his five children: Betsy (Greg) Moerschel of Winnetka, IL. Mike Aushwitz of Waukesha, Jenny (Chris) Ersbo of Eagle, Nate Aushwitz of Nashville, TN. and Margi Aushwitz of Chicago, IL. four grandsons: Henry and Harrison Ersbo, Eric and Andrew Moerschel, one brother: Ronald (Nan) Aushwitz of Waukesha, along with other relatives and friends.

A private service was held Tuesday December 3, 2002 at Prairie Home Cemetery’s Chapel. Dr. Douglas Schoen of Elmbrook Church in Brookfield officiated. Burial was in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Memorials in David’s name may be directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (2221 Rosecrans Avenue Suite 131 El Segundo, CA 90245) or to North Lakeland Discovery Center (NLDC) (P.O. Box 237 Manitowish Waters, WI. 54545.)

Dorothy Pagenkopf Downing
Dorothy Pagenkopf Downing, passed away December 26, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Born in Guelph, North Dakota, June 6, 1919. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her mother and father and her sisters Laverna and Frances.

Survived by her children, Chris (Ronn) Barker, Colgate, Thomas (Patricia) Downing, Merton, Marilyn (James) Lehrer of Louisville, Kentucky, Grandchildren: Angie (Cory) Steinhaus, Heather Isham, Lauren Barker, Mitchell Isham and Liz Downing; Great-grandchildren Destinee Bradley, Alexander Steinhaus and Matthew Isham, other relatives and friends.

She was employed in the offices of Morrison Advertising, Curdolac Food Co, Waukesha Motor Works, Secretarial Services, Thomas Press and Waukesha County Park and Planning. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, and an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Visitation 1:00 - 2:00 PM and Service 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 29 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53188. Memorials to St. Mark's Church in lieu of flowers.

Donald Katzner
Donald Katzner, age 75 of Waukesha, died Saturday November 30, 2002 at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. He was born November 9, 1927 in Waukesha a son of Frederick and Elsie (nee Selle) Katzner.

He married Barbara Vertz on August 11, 1951. She preceded Don in death on November 19, 2002. He worked at Lakeside Bridge and Steel in Milwaukee and retired from Sturdi-Craft in Dousman. Don proudly served his country with the Marine Corps in 1947 and 1948 in the Mediterranean. Don served on the Board of the Waukesha County Conservation Alliance and was named Educator of the Year in 2000. He started coaching the Waukesha Junior Rifle Club in 1949 and was certified as an NRA Instructor in 1950. He was one of the original instructors in Hunter Safety in 1966, conducting at least two Hunter Education Courses per year, graduating over 4400 students. He was Junior Director of the Wisconsin Rifle & Pistol Association for six years, conducting many state Championship matches. Don also worked with the Indian Guides and Indian Maidens at the YMCA in Waukesha, was a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor, was a 4-H Shooting Sports instructor, and conducted NRA Class C Coaches Courses in Wisconsin.

He was also the Color Guard Captain for the Waukesha County Marine Corps League. He is an Endowment Member of the National Rifle Association, Life Member and past Board member of the Wisconsin Rifle & Pistol Association, former Junior Director of the Southeastern Wisconsin Rifle Association, NRA Referee and Range Technical Team Advisor. Also a member of the Wildlife Federation, Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, and Ducks Unlimited. He is a Life Member of the Marine Corps League and a Life Member of the Second Marine Division along with the Marine Corps Association. He is a member of the City of Waukesha Citizen’s Police Academy. He is also a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Don was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Bob Gibson.

Don is survived by his daughter, Cindi (Paul) Schmitt of Newport News, VA, his three grandchildren, Joseph, Laura and Sarah, a sister, Yvonne Gibson of Genesee Depot, WI along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral for Don will be held Wednesday December 4, 2002 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church (1052 Whiterock Avenue Waukesha). The Rev. Larry Gates will be the officiant. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. on Tuesday December 3, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Memorials in Don’s name may be directed to the Waukesha County Marine Corps League (1208 Westowne Avenue Waukesha, WI. 53188) or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
