Darleen E. Schossow
Darleen E. Schossow (nee Burns), of Dousman, born January 10, 1932 in Lewiston, Minnesota died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at the age of 71. Darleen was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wales. She retired from Briggs and Stratton.

Darleen will be sadly missed by her husband, Bob of Dousman, her sons Michael (Sandra) Huebner of Waukesha and Gary (Carla) Huebner of Waukesha, her daughter Barbara (Warren) Griffin of Dousman, her step-son Gary Schossow of La Crosse and her step-daughter Beckie Schossow of La Crosse, her grandchildren; Matthew, Brad, Ryan, Michelle, Eric, Doug, Lindsey and Timothy, her step-grandchildren; Crystal and Erin, her 5 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren, her sisters; Thecla (John) Bauer, Rita (Frank) Norton, Kathleen (Lawrence) Putizier and Mary (Joseph) Speltz, her brothers; Anthony (Gloria) Burns, Timothy (Nell) Burns, William (Marion) Burns, George (Mary) Burns, Patrick (Janet) Burns, Dennis (Donna) Burns and James (Sue) Burns. Darleen is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Darleen was preceded in death by her first husband Elmer "Roy" Huebner.

Funeral services for Darleen will be held Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 470 Oak Crest Drive, Hwy 18 & Oak Crest Drive, Wales. Pastor Erik Cloeter will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday May 30, 2003 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha and Saturday May 31, 2003 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in Salem Cemetery, Wales, Wisconsin. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Dale G. "Poppy" Tompkins

Lifelong resident of Waukesha died Thursday March 18, 2004 at his home at the age of 62. Dale was born April 20, 1941 in Waukesha a son of Bernard and Mary (nee Merschdorf) Tompkins. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1959. On December 30, 1961, he married Shirley Jendro in Milwaukee. Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from August 1961 to April 1970. He served in a medical unit in Vietnam from November 1967 to November 1968. He then was in the Reserves until the start of the Gulf War. He had worked at Kearney-Trecker for 19 years and had worked for Harley Davidson, the Blood Center and most recently the Veteran’s Center in Woods, Wisconsin. He was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church in Waukesha. Poppy adored his children and grandchildren. He was known to have M & M’s in his pockets for his beloved grandchildren. He was always making people laugh and joking around and he loved dogs, especially German Boxer’s. He was preceded in death by his father on December 30, 1971.

Poppy is survived by his wife, Shirley Tompkins of Waukesha, his three children: Beverly (Gerald) Schienebeck, Jr. of Waukesha, John Tompkins of Waukesha, and Michelle (Gregory) Malsack of Waukesha along with six adoring grandchildren: Bradley, Casi, Amanda, Andrew, Jordan, and Brittany, his mother: Mary Tompkins of Waukesha, his two sisters: Shirley (Edward) Maile of Waukesha and Ruth Lukomski of Milwaukee along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Poppy’s life will be held Monday, March 22, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at St. William’s Catholic Church in Waukesha (440 N. Moreland Blvd). Father Leonard Barbian will be the celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call at St. William’s Catholic Church on Monday, March 22, 2004 from 4 :00 P.M. until the time of the Mass at 7:00 p.m. Memorials in Dale’s name may be directed to St. William Catholic Church. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. is serving the family.

Erica R. Horner
Erica R. Horner, age 21 of Waukesha, went home to the Lord on Monday February 10, 2003, at the University Hospital in Madison Wisconsin. Erica was born July 15, 1981 in Waukesha the daughter of Rex and Kathy (nee Henke) Horner.

She graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1999 and was attending the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Erica battled Lymphoblastic Lymphoma with strength and courage. Through her illness, she would think of others and was always looking for ways to help and volunteer. She was a giving person who put others in front of her own needs unselfishly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother: Betty Horner.

Erica is survived by her mother: Kathy (Dave) Henke Hughes of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, her father: Rex (Mary) Horner of Waukesha, her sister: Kara Horner, her maternal grandparents: Donald (Ethel) Henke and her paternal grandfather: Fred (Dorothy) Horner, her soulmate: Thomas Bennett of Waukesha along with many other loving relatives and friends.

The funeral celebrating Erica's life will be held Saturday February 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Pastor James Wilch will be the officiant. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call on Friday February 14, 2003, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials in Erica's name may be directed to the family.

Esther I. McHenry

Of the Town of Brookfield. Born on November 1, 1921 in Brockton, IL, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude Heggerty, died on Sunday, January 4, 2004 at the age of 82 years. She and her husband, Don, resided in the Town of Brookfield from 1951 to 1993 where they shared their lives with many wonderful friends and neighbors, many of whom still live in their original homes. In 1993 she moved to Brighton, Michigan to be with her son, Patrick and cared for by her grandson, Kevin and great grandson, Jarrid. Esther was a founding member of the Hillcrest Elementary School Board – “As the twig is bent, so grows the tree”. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha where she was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. She was active in the Homemakers and Bridge Clubs and Hospice Care in the Waukesha area.

She will be sadly missed by her sons; Richard D. “Mac” (Cynthia De Traglia) McHenry of Bexley, Ohio and Patrick H. (Donna) McHenry of Brighton, Michigan, her daughter-in-law; Elly McHenry of Waukesha, her sister, Phyllis (Robert) Bennett of Christman, IL, her grandchildren; Christopher (Anne) McHenry of Poughkeepsie, NY, Calen (Michele) of Waukesha, Kevin McHenry of Brighton, MI, Ben (Minnie) McHenry of Milwaukee, Andrew (Andrea) McHenry of Ypsilanti, MI, Meghan (Greg O’Loughlin) of Nashville, TN and Colleen (Dave) McHenry of Waukesha, her step-granchildren; Tracy (Chris) Woeltz of Dallas, TX, Joe (Gemma) Goodrid of Southfield, MI, Sylvana (Bruce) Whittaker of Columbus, Ohio, Tommy De Traglia of Columbus, Ohio and Gina Ison of Bradenton, FL, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald E. McHenry, her sisters; May Ayers, Theresa Heggerty, Ruth Haines, Helen Wright, Marguerite Newport, Nora Findley and Faye Pracht and her brother, Thomas Heggerty.

A Funeral Service for Esther will be on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 7:00 pm at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. A visitation will be at the Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church, Waukesha or Laubach Literacy https://www.laubach.org/home.html or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 11:00 am. Meet at the cemetery.

Ernestine M. Stacey
Lifelong Waukesha area resident, Ernestine M. Stacey, died on Saturday, October 26, 2002, at the Waters of Westmoreland Health Care Center at the age of 87 years.

She was born on October 12, 1915, in Waukesha, the daughter of Anthony and Edith (nee Luedke) Rossbach. Ernestine was a member of St. William Catholic Church.

She is the dear mother of Gary (Judy) Stacey of Mukwonago, and the grandmother of Scott (Diane) Stacey, Tim (Pam) Stacey, Tammy (David) Reed, Debbe (Mark) Marr, Lori (Gary) Billmyre. and Scott Beyer. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, and sister, Sr. Richard Marie Rossbach.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Pastor Russell Hurst will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Franklin A. Poeppel
Franklin A. Poeppel, age 85 of Waukesha, died Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born March 24, 1917 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin a son of the late August Carl and Agnes (nee Braatz) Poeppel.

On January 20, 1945, he married Morilla Hall at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Franklin worked at International Harvester in Waukesha for 33 years as a molder retiring in 1974. He was a strong willed man who enjoyed playing Sheepshead, flea markets and putting puzzles together. He is a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his parents, five (5) brothers: Harry, Irvin, William, Raymond and August, three (3) sisters: Elvina Sampson, Esther Gastrow, and Edna Smale, his son-in-law: John Robert Wettstein, and one great granddaughter: Caitlin Wettstein.

Franklin is survived by his wife: Morilla Poeppel of Waukesha, his four (4) children: Sandra Wettstein of Waukesha, Karen (Raymond) Leidy of Milwaukee, Paul (Kathy) Poeppel and Mark (Betty) Poeppel, both of Waukesha. He is also survived by his nine (9) grandchildren: Michelle Wettstein of Waukesha, John Wettstein of Concord, WI., Jenny Poeppel and Nicole (Brian Braatz) Poeppel, both of Waukesha, Steven and Matthew Leidy, both of Milwaukee, Jessica, Kyle, and Rebecca Poeppel all of Waukesha, two step grandchildren: Justin Bell of California and Nicolas Bell of El Paso, Texas, one great grandson: Brandon Poeppel of Waukesha, two sisters: Elmay (Victor) Nelson of Elkhorn, WI. and Edith Kaelin of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Della and Bertha Poeppel both of Waukesha along with other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Dougherty and the staff at the Cardiac Care Unit of Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their wonderful service and care.

The Funeral Service celebrating Franklin's life will be held Thursday February 6, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church (1941 Madison Street Waukesha, WI. 53188) Pastor Michael Turriff will be the officiant. Burial will be in Highland Memorial in New Berlin, WI. Friends may call at the church on Thursday February 6 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Gary Heinzelmann
Gary Heinzelmann, of Waukesha, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital at the age of 56 years.

Gary was a graduate of the University of Stevens Point and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 – 1971. Gary worked for Wausau Insurance for 32 years and retired on Aug. 1, 2003. He was recently recognized for his years of loyalty and dedication and the many relationships he established throughout his career. He was a member of Wern Valley Sportsmen’s Club and the Crooked Shaft Archery League. Gary was an avid golfer, outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dogs. More than anything Gary loved his family and friends and always put them first, which was evident in all the time he spent helping others.

Gary will be sadly missed by his children, Jacob (Jana) of Oconomowoc and Jaime (Jeff Stephens) of Ashland, Oregon his mother, Arlene Heinzelmann of Leesburg, FL his granddaughter, Sydney his sister, Connie (Doug) Carpenter of Stevens Point, WI his brother, Bill (Edie) Heinzelmann of Allentown, PA . He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Gary is preceded in death by his father, William “Bill”.

The funeral service for Gary will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Salem Cemetery in Wales, WI. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Wern Valley Sportsmen’s Club for a memorial in Gary’s name.

Glenn L. Luxem
Glenn L. Luxem died Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Waters of Westmoreland Health Care Center at the age of 89 years, leaving his beloved wife Ruth of 66 years.

He was born April 12, 1912 in the Town of Dodgeville, the son of Jake & Viola (nee Gardner) Luxem.

Relatives and friends may visit with Ruth in the Spring Room or Garden of The Waters of Westmoreland Health Care Center on Saturday, June 30, 2001 from 3 to 6 p.m. If you need directions, please call Rosalie Wiedeman at 262-549-0796.

"Glenn was a simple man. A happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Farming was his trade. Horsing around was his act. Tending horses he loved, but his true love was his wife Ruth. Fine spirited old man of 89. He will surely be missed. May the hearts that he touched impress some everlasting memories."

Helen M. Bell
Helen M. Bell, of Waukesha, born on November 12, 1930 in Gays Mills, WI, the daughter of Francis and Wilma (nee Barnum) McCormick, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at home at the age of 72 years. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she organized the Bethany Guild and the St. Joseph's Mission Group, she was also a member of the Christian Women. She volunteered at WCTC. Helen was a very dedicated donor to the Red Cross Blood Center. She was past president of the KC Auxilary and past secretary of the VFW Auxilary. Helen loved her family, friends, travel, gardening and golf.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, William, whom she married on April 19, 1947, her children; Stephen (Andrea) of Golden, Colorado, Michael (Karen) of Waukesha, Joseph (Sheri) of Lake Mills, WI, Catherine (Greg) Kneusel of Delafield, Elizabeth (George) Neitzel of Delafield, Margaret "Peggy" (Thomas) Frankowski of Hartland and Rebecca (James) Barbi of Ridgewood, NJ, her mother, her brother, Francis (Patsy) McCormick of Ferryville, WI, her sister, Marian Swanson of Gays Mills, WI, her grandchildren; Aaron, Patrick, Bridgid, Matthew, Sara, Keely, Samantha, Abby, Hillary, Dylan, Dustin, Emily, Jacob, Gretchen, Sam, Max, Zachary, Hali and Hannah, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Jim.

A special thanks to Dr. Sanchez and the Oncology Department at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

A Funeral Mass for Helen will be on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., meet at the church. Father Michael Michalski will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Private family interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials in Helen's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 877-272-6226, or St. Joseph Catholic Church would be greatly appreciated.

Heidi M. Etzel
Heidi M. Etzel, of Milwaukee, born on April 9, 1975 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Mark and Rosemarie (nee Rebholz) Etzel, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at University Hospital in Madison at the age of 27 years.

She graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 1993 and then went on to St. Norbert College in De Pere, graduating in 1997. Her first job was at Strong Funds and currently worked at the corporate office of Kohl's Department Store.

Heidi will be deeply missed by her parents, Rosemarie of North Prairie and Mark of Palmyra, her brothers; Douglas (Tina) of Dousman, Brian (Tiffany) of Highland Park, IL and Scott of North Prairie, her nephews; Nathan and Joshua, her maternal grandparents, William and Catherine Rebholz of Dousman, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Erwin and Virginia Etzel and her uncle Daniel and aunt Yolanda Rebholz.

A Funeral Mass for Heidi will be on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. Father Bob Gosma of St. Paul, Genesse Depot will officiate. A visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of Mass. Interment will follow the Mass in the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Heidi's Hope Memorial Fund at the Citizen's Bank, PO Box 97, Genesee Depot, WI 53127.
