Hannah L. Kohls

Of Mukwonago, died on December 24, 2003 at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital at the age of 20 years. Hannah graduated from Mukwonago High School in 2002 and was currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a double major in Wildlife Education and Art. She volunteered for the Wildlife In Need Center in Dousman for the last several years. She was in the Wildlife Society in Stevens Point while she was in College, giving presentations in the public schools to kids interested in wildlife. She loved nature, her dogs and cats, ice skating, swimming, hiking and walking in the marsh. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Esther McIntire, maternal step grandmother, Marcella, her Uncle Fred and her paternal grandmother, Genevieve Kohls.

Hannah will be sadly missed by her parents, Steve and Beth Kohls of Mukwonago, her brother Fred (Genna Gulan) Kohls of Mukwonago, her aunts and uncles, Patricia Kohls of Mukwonago, Myrna (Dave) Stocks of Waukesha, Carol (Cabot) Thunem of Minnesota, Joan Grunewald of Kansas, John (Nancy) McIntire of Maine, Jim McIntire of Washington, Bob (Darcy) McIntire of Genesee Depot, her paternal grandfather, Donald (Doris) Kohls of Waukesha, her boyfriend Nick Stanley, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for Hannah will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at the Mukwonago United Church of Christ (S93 W30740 County Road NN Mukwonago). Rev. Al Nichols will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials can be made to the Wildlife In Need Center in Dousman.

Harold James Whitney
Harold James Whitney, of Waukesha, went to his Eternal rest on August 19, 2003 at the age of 64. Harold was born on July 27, 1939, the son of Edward and Mildred Whitney.

Harold retired from Voss Jorgenson Schueler. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of Laborers Local 392. Harold was married to his loving wife, Faye (nee Kasten), on August 23, 1980.

Harold was the loving husband of Faye, dear father of Brian (Dawn) Whitney of Butler, Vernon (Karen) Whitney of Waukesha, Dawn (Randal) Brueckner of Waukesha, Robert (Carol) Schneider of Genesee, and David Whitney of Waukesha, dear grandfather of Ehan, Gwendolyn and Taylor Whitney, David, Autumn, Heather and Stacey Cassel, dear godfather of Arreanna Faythe Price, brother of Myrtle Huolihan, Marion (Donald) Pohl, David (Marliene) Whitney, Norman (Janice) Whitney and Ola (James) Pfaff, nephew of Lois (Frank) Wood. Harold is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward, Irving, Carl and Maynard and brother-in-law Charles Huolihan.

Funeral services for Harold will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186) at 7:00 pm. Reverend Scott Oelhafen will be officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the church from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials in Harold's name are appreciated to the Assembly of God Church National Center for the Blind, Account #3097656, 1445 N. Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802.

Joshua A. Hess
Joshua A. Hess of Sullivan, born on October 2, 2000, the son of Mike and Katie (nee Knoll) Hess, died on Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the age of 20 months. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

He will be sadly missed by his parents, his brother, Jacob his grandparents; Allen (Mary) Hess of Waukesha and Steve (step grandmother, Joni) Knoll of Waukesha, his great grandparents, June Tituleaur of Waukesha and her special friend Bob Narlow; Pearl Clark of Iowa and Beatrice Knoll of Pewaukee; his aunts and uncles; Shannon Knoll, Joe (Paula) Hess and Rick (Sara) Hess. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fran Knoll, and great grandparents; George Tituleaur, Donald Knoll, William & Lorrain Hess and Clarence Clark.

Funeral services for Joshua will be on Thursday, June 6, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha. Pastor James Wilch will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be on Friday, June 7, 2002, in the Genesee Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Meet at the cemetery.

Jean V. La Fratta

Of Waukesha, died on January 31, 2004 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 86 years. Jean was born July 28, 1917 in San Felice, Italy, the daughter of Vincent and Anita Mancini. She married Peter La Fratta on October 27, 1940 at St Peter’s in Port Washington, NY. Jean was a charter member and volunteer at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Jean will be sadly missed by her husband, Peter, her grandchildren; Jeffrey and Jason of Waukesha, her brother Joseph(Vicki) Mancini of Connecticut, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Peter W.

A funeral Mass for Jean will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell, Waukesha. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of the mass at Church. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials in Jean’s name are appreciated to her family

Joan M. Muench

Of Waukesha died Wednesday November 5, 2003 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. Joan was born July 6, 1918 in Kewaunee, Wisconsin a daughter of the late John and Pauline (nee Walecka) Jerabek. She married Edgar Muench. She worked at Marshall Fields for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband: Frank Zavadil in July 1966, and Victor.

Joan is survived by her husband Edgar Muench of Waukesha, her son David (Julie) Zavadil of Cameron Park, California, her two grandchildren: Molly (Herb) Close of Elk Grove, California and Sarah (Karl) Sliev of Spring Valley, California, one great grandchild: Grace Close. Joan is also survived by her sister: Bernice Worachek of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Leo (Lorraine) Jerabek of Manitowoc.

Joan’s life will be celebrated on Saturday November 8, 2003 at 11:00 p.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Family Center- South Chapel (13235 W. Capitol Drive - Brookfield). Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial in Brookfield. Friends may call at Wisconsin Memorial on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. is serving the Muench family.

James A. Portz
James A. Portz, of Waukesha, born on June 4, 1911 in Chili, WI, the son of Adolph and Harriet (nee Cook) Portz, died on Sunday, June 9, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 91 years.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He farmed for many years, worked for Ruby Farms and for Deluxe Checkwriters until his retirement. After his retirement he remained very active. His life centered on his family and he enjoyed playing sheepshead and bingo, loved to garden and woodwork.

He will be sadly missed by his children; James (Minda) Portz of Waukesha, Beverly (William) Hughes of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, Patricia (Gordon) Nowers of Zephyrhills, Florida and Judy (James) Schwaab of Hartland, WI, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred in 1995, daughter, Bonnie Steffen, grandson, Richard and 7 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for James will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at 7:00 pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave. Pastor James Wilch will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 5:00 until the time of service. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

June E. Scott
Longtime Waukesha resident, June E. Scott, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years. She was born on June 30, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Francis & Leona (nee Happel) Cook.

June enjoyed Quilting, Gardening and Contests. She also loved animals.

She is the beloved wife of Armand R. Scott, whom she married on October 8, 1949 in Milwaukee. She is the dear sister of Evelyn Ann (Robert H.) Bedermann of Chetek, Wisconsin. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 6, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Pastor Mel Hendrichs will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, May 5, 2002 from 2 to 5 p.m. Entombment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.

Joan Trine

Of Waukesha, died on Friday, January 16, 2003 at home at the age of 53 years. Joan was born on November 7, 1950 in LaCrosse, WI, the daughter of George and Ann (Althoff) Hammes. She was the K-8 Reading Coordinator for Franklin Public Schools and a member of the National Reading Association. She taught 3rd grade at St. Mary’s School for several years and at St. Clements School in Lancaster.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Larry, who she married on January 26, 1974, her children; Kristin (Juner) Schulz of East Troy and Michael Trine of Madison, her grandson, Logan Schulz, her parents, her brothers and sisters; George (Bonnie) Hammes, Bob Hammes, Jim (Pam) Hammes, Jean Hammes, Mary (Kevin) Butson, Joe (Karen) Hammes, Mark (Beth) Hammes, Dave (Robin) Hammes and Kay (Dave) Hirsch.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2004 from 4:30-7:30 pm at Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home and also on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 from 5:00-7:00 pm and Wednesday 10:00 am until the time of the 11:00 am Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 130 Cedar St., Platteville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to St. Mary’s Endowment Fund or the Odyssey Foundation. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 262-542-6609 and the Bendorf Funeral Home, 608-348-2121 are serving the family.

Jeanne H. Webster
Jeanne H. Webster, age 74 of Peachtree City, Georgia, formerly of Waukesha, died February 19, 2003 at Fayette Community Hospital in Fayetteville, GA. She was born December 9, 1928 in Superior, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Otto and Hilda (nee Nelson) Holmquist. She married George Webster. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1982.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Koepke of Peachtree City, GA and Becky (Rocky) Cirillo of Peachtree City, GA; three grandchildren, James Koepke, Ryan (Kelly) Cirillo, and Christina Cirillo; her brother, Robert (Delores) Holmquist of LaCrosse, WI; along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral service celebrating Jeanne's life will be held on Monday, February 24, 2003 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata, & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 North Moreland Boulevard, Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Viviane Thomas-Breitfeld of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Waukesha, will be the officiant. Burial will immediately follow in Salem Cemetery, Wales, Wisconsin.

Memorials in Jeanne's name may be directed to the Memorial Fund at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church P.O. Box 2189 Peachtree City, GA 30269. A funeral service was also held in Peachtree City at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Janet B. Young
Janet B. Young, of Waukesha, born on August 20, 1948 in New Haven, CT, the daughter of John J. and Janet (nee Babes) Balogh, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2002 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 53 years.

She was the Principal at Holy Assumption School in West Allis. Janet was also a Director on the nine school NOVUS Board. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University, earned both her MA and MS degrees from Cardinal Stritch College and was working toward her Doctoral Degree. Children were always very important to Janet and she inspired many over the years. She loved to teach and help all of her students.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Art, whom she married on June 20, 1970, her three sons, Matthew, David and Sean; and her mother-in-law, Helen S. Mulcahy. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Arthur III.

A Memorial Service for Janet will be held on Saturday, August, 17, at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. She will also be remembered at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, August 18, at Holy Assumption Church, West Allis. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101, would be appreciated. A private family interment will be in the Genesee Cemetery.

Kathryn D. Rankin
Kathryn D. Rankin, of Janesville, born on August 4, 1910 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of Charles and Kazimera (nee Undula) Arlousky, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at the Linden Grove Health Care Center in Waukesha.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Janesville. Kathryn was a nurse throughout her career and retired from the City of Racine Health Department. She loved and enjoyed her family, enjoyed sewing and reading.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Melanie (Ronald) Somenske of East Troy, WI, her son, William (Denise) Rankin of Janesville, her grandchildren; Jeff (Kim) Somenske, Schelly Somenske, Elizabeth Somenske, Daniel Rankin and Katie Rankin, her great grandchildren; Jenna, Jack and Trevor, her niece, Carol Motel and nephew, Jan Motel, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and granddaughter, Amy, special friends, Alice and Steve Motel.

A Memorial service for Kathryn will be on, Saturday, August 30, 2003 at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran Church, 612 N. Randall Ave., Janesville. Friends may gather Saturday at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the United Cerebral Palsy of Wisconsin, 7519 W. Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53219 or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 4125 N. 124th St., Brookfield, WI 53005 Private family interment will be in the Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha.
