Esther K. Monroe
Esther K. Monroe, of Waukesha, born on May 19, 1906 in Milwaukee, the daughter of August and Elsie (nee Bauman) Klatt, died on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at the Virginia Health Care Center at the age of 96 years.

She retired from Waukesha Engine where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of the Old Timers Club, Friendly Folks Club and the Waukesha Professional and Business Women’s Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Esther’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Virginia Health Care Center for their loving care.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Robert (Patricia) Monroe of Eagle, her daughter Mary Krueger (Gary Jackson) of Waukesha, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1986.

Funeral services for Esther will be on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at 10:00 am at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Pastor Dwight Bastian will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials, in Esther’s name, to the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Edgar L. Muench

Age 89 of Waukesha died Thursday January 8, 2004 at Waukesha Springs Health Care Center in Waukesha. Edgar was born March 4, 1914, in Milwaukee a son of Leo and Margaret (nee Fuchs) Muench. Edgar worked on the Pabst Farms before working at Riebes Malt and Grain in Milwaukee as a Malster for 37 years. He also drove school bus and then worked for Miller Brewing in Milwaukee retiring in 1980. On July 22, 1983, he married Joan Muench at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. Joan died on November 5, 2003. He lived in Brookfield, Pewaukee and Waukesha. Edgar was a real handyman who enjoyed woodworking, electrical work, and gardening. He loved to travel and read. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Ann Muench on February 14, 1982, his two brothers: Joseph and Robert Muench and a sister: Margaret Wagner.

Edgar is survived by his step children: David (Julie) Zavadil of California, two step grandchildren: Molly and Sara: a step great grandchild: Grace, three sisters: Leona Nelson of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, Katherine (Joseph) Kirkish of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Dolores Dorn of Victorville, California along with a brother: Donald (Beatrice) Muench of Waukesha, Wisconsin along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A service celebrating Edgar’s life will be held on Saturday January 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Friends may call at Holy Cross Cemetery from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00. Entombment will take place following the service at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. is serving the family. Memorials in Edgar’s name may be directed to the American Heart Association or to the choice of the donor.

Kenneth “Ken” Roy Dobbeck

Of Waukesha, died in his home on Tuesday, October 05, 2004 at the age of 69. Ken was born on January 16,1935 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Albert and Gladys (nee Trevarrow) Dobbeck. Ken was a member of St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church, the men’s group and the Tuesday morning coffee hour. He graduated from Carroll College, was employed with General Casting and Dairyland Bus Co. Ken served in the US Army and was a Life Scout. Ken is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara (nee Griffee) Dobbeck, his brother Albert Dobbeck, and his step-daughter, Jean Hepp.

Ken will be sadly missed by his wife, Joanne (nee LeDain) who he married on September, 10, 1988; his sons, Peter (Kris) Dobbeck of Waukesha and Kurt (Heidi) Dobbeck of Elgin, IL; his step-children, Jerome Hepp of Juneau, WI, Jeffery (Sylvia) Hepp of Waukesha, James (Mary) Hepp of Mukwonago and Joyce (John) Bannantine of Ames IA; his grandchildren, Kyle and Eric Dobbeck, Kevin, Brendyn, Ryan, Autumn, Kaitlin and Benjamin Dobbeck, Jennette and John Hepp, David and Michael Hepp, Jordan , Emily, Christian, and Noah Bannantine; his great grandson, Jason Bergemann; his sister-in-law, Elsa Dobbeck of Crystal Lake, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Ken will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 4:00 PM at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave. Waukesha, Reverend James L. Wilch will officiate. A visitation will also be held on Sunday at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will take place in Prairie Home Cemetery.

Memorials in Ken’s name are appreciated to St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church.

A special thanks to Dr. Sanchez, the outpatient oncology unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Rolland Nelson Crossroads Hospice.

Edwin M. Pierson

Lifelong resident of Waukesha died on April 24, 2004 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. Edwin was born in Waukesha on July 18, 1924, a son of John and Eleanor (nee Hannon) Pierson. Edwin proudly served his country in Germany in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He married Jane Trushinske at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha on October 1, 1949. Edwin worked at Fox Head Brewing Company and then for Aqua Chem in Waukesha retiring in 1983 after over 25 years of employment. He is a member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha and the Waukesha Eagle’s Club. Edwin was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching golf on the television and playing the game, even after his stroke 15 years ago. He chose his family first and was always there for his children and grandchildren. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Harriet Hayden, Anita Norcia and Louise Pierson and his three brothers: John, Robert "Pap”, and James “Bim” Pierson.

Edwin is survived by his wife: Jane Pierson of Waukesha, his daughter: Teri Pierson of Waukesha, his three sons: Marty (Nancy) Pierson of New Berlin, David Pierson of Pewaukee, and Jeff (Annette) Pierson of Athens, Tennessee. Edwin is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Jude, Luke, Jared, Andrew, Elizabeth, Jeremy, Justin, Brandon and Melissa, three great grandchildren, two brothers: Warren (Shirley) Pierson of Genesee, Wisconsin and Raymond Pierson of Tucson, Arizona, two sisters-in-law: Florence Pierson and Dorothy Pierson of Waukesha, along with other relatives and longtime friends

A Memorial Service celebrating Edwin’s life will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 P.M.

Elizabeth B. Ruppel
Elizabeth B. Ruppel died at the Shorehaven Health Care Center in Oconomowoc on Friday, July 19, 2002 at the age of 98 years. She was born on July 30, 1903 in Pittsburgh, PA., the daughter of Conrad & Martha (nee Vogel) Nauman. Elizabeth was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont, PA., and was a current member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Waukesha.

She is the dear mother of John (Alice) Ruppel of Waukesha. She will be missed by her granddaughters Kathy (John) Delikat and Deborah (Scott) Hayes, both of Waukesha. She is the great grandmother of Taylor Hayes. Also surviving is her sister Mamie Kirchner of West Virginia and other relatives and friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband J. George Ruppel in 1991, her brother Charles Ruppel and her sisters Minnie Herron and Emma Ruppel.

Funeral services for Elizabeth will be on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 11 A.M. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1941 Madison Street in Waukesha. Pastor Michael Turriff will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery in Wales, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Eleanor Louise Seefeldt

Of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at Woodland Heath Care Center at the age of 88. Eleanor was born on November 6, 1915 in Belleville, NJ, the daughter of Fred H. and Emma (nee Feiden) Wulf. She moved to Detroit, MI at the age of 6, married Bernhard H. Seefeldt on May 4, 1946, they moved to Kewaskum, WI and in 1951 they moved to Waukesha. She was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church for 54 years and a member of the Dorcas Society and the Ladies Aid for many years. She was employed with Leppin Drywall Co. for 25 years until she retired at the age of 81. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Walter.

Eleanor will be sadly missed by her children; Roger (Marcia) Seefeldt of Waukesha, Donald Seefeldt of Waukesha, David Seefeldt of Lebanon, IN, Joanne Kohler of Saginaw, MI, and James (Linda) Seefeldt of Eden Prairie, MN; her 10 grandchildren; her 2 step-grandchildren; her sisters, Ruth Sherman of Brighton, MI and Lorraine Boike of Oscoda, MI; her brother-in-law, Gerhard (Anna) Seefeldt of Lake Mills, WI; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Wulf of Ocala, FL and Paula Seefeldt of Sun Prairie, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service for Eleanor will be held on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave. Waukesha, A visitation will be on Friday at church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Entombment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Eleanor’s name are appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.

Eugene A. Shemitis
Eugene A. Shemitis, age 59 of Waukesha, Wisconsin, died at his home on Thursday July 11, 2002 after his battle with cancer.

Eugene was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 4, 1942, a son John and Jean (nee Jaskolski) Shemitis. He graduated from Pulaski High School in Milwaukee in 1961 and also graduated from Spencerian College in Milwaukee in 1967. In 1968, he went to New York to obtain his stockbroker license and returned to the Milwaukee area. On October 22, 1966 he married Christine Sherman at St. Thomas Aquinas in Milwaukee. He bought Vita - Minerals in 1977 and started Shemitis Professional Supply in 1991. He was a huge Notre Dame fan and loved his dogs. He is a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin and had served as an usher and worked at the church picnic. He was a loving husband and a fantastic father. He will be missed. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt, Lillian Jaskolski.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife; Christine Shemitis of Waukesha, his three children; Elizabeth (Gust) Petropoulos of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John Shemitis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Daniel Shemitis of Waukesha, Wisconsin, along with his two grandchildren; Jameson and Anna Petropoulos of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and other relatives and dear friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene will be Tuesday July 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Genesee Depot (Hwy 83 & D). Friends may call on Monday July 15, 2002 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. A parish vigil will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday evening. Memorials in Eugene's name may be directed to the family.

Eli G. Tash

Died on Sunday, February 15, 2004 at the Milwaukee Catholic Home. Mr. Tash was 95 years old. He is survived by his only son, Robert Edward Tash of Glendale, several nieces and nephews and numerous friends and admirers.

Mr. Tash had a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Business from the University of Cincinnati and advanced studies in Finance and Banking from Columbia University. He held several senior management positions with Macy’s in New York and Kansas City and Federated Department Stores in Milwaukee. He later founded and managed Cord’s Department Store in Milwaukee. Mr. Tash had a passion for children and their development and education. He was instrumental in founding the Wisconsin Society for Brain Injured Children and held both local and national posts in organizations for handicapped children. He was tireless in his efforts to improve the lives of handicapped children. In 1968 he co-founded the Saint Francis Children’s Center (SFCC) with Sister Joanne Marie Kliebhan, O.S.F.,Ph.D. The SFCC became his life’s work and passion as he strove to understand the nature of brain injury and learning. Eli Tash was highly regarded among the parents of handicapped children as an innovator and an advocate for the education of all children at a time when public school was not available to children with learning difficulties.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Mr. Tash’s Life work with contributions to Saint Francis Children’s Center, 6700 N. Port Washington Road, Glendale, WI 53217 or the Jewish Family Services, 1300 N. Jackson St. Milwaukee, WI 53202. A memorial service will be held at the Saint Francis Children’s Center on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 6:30 PM. A visitation will be held from 5:30 PM until the time of service.

Edith Warth

Of Waukesha, passed into eternal life on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Linden Grove Health Care Center at the age of 97. Edith was born on June 30, 1906 in Waupun, WI, the daughter of Findley and Minnie (nee Sommer) Cleveland. She married Chester Warth M.D. in 1935, resided for over 50 years in Whitefish Bay before moving to Waukesha in 1989. She especially enjoyed summers spent in Door County. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987.

Edith will be sadly missed by her son, Robert (Mary) Warth M.D. of Waukesha; her grandchildren, Jeanne (James) Brucato of Gurnee, IL, Steve (Dustin) Warth of Lake Forest, IL, and Carrie (John “Jed”) Price Grayslake, IL; her great grandchildren, Allison, Anthony, Ashley, Kristi; her brother, Robert (Edna) Cleveland of Waupun; other relatives and friends.

Thank You to the staff at Linden Grove Health Care Center and Oak Hill Terrace for the exceptional care they gave Edith.

Funeral Services for Edith will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha. A visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edith’s name can be made to the Medical College of Wisconsin for Macular Degeneration Research (Medical College of Wisconsin, Eye Institute, 925 N. 87th St. Milwaukee, WI 53226), or to the charity of one’s choice.

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Wiedenhoeft

Lifelong resident of Waukesha, died on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 80 years. Betty was born on September 1, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Jungenberg) Fairbanks. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1942 and attended vocational school for clerical training. Betty married Robert Wiedenhoeft on March 1, 1947, at the First Baptist Church. She then went on to work for Grede Foundry in Waukesha until they started a family in 1951. Betty helped her husband by doing secretarial work for his company Ge–Ro Heating for 32 years. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW, and volunteered until recently for R.S.V.P. in Waukesha. Betty was an avid reader, an excellent cook, loved playing pinochle, sewing and knitting. She enjoyed playing the piano, enjoyed music, dancing, and entertaining friends and family. She was always willing to help others. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert on October 10, 1986, her daughter Sue in 1999, her brother Robert, and her sisters Dorothy and Shirley.

Betty will be sadly missed by her daughters, Dawn Weideman of the Town of Genesee and Sally (Tom) Carroll of Juneau; her grandchildren, Crystal, David, Chad and Craig; her son-in-law, Ron Bouley of Waukesha; her sister-in-law, Lauretta (Myrle) Huenink of Waukesha; and her childhood friend, Geri (neeMellenthine) Cottone. She is further survived by relatives and many friends.

The memorial service for Betty will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Rev. Marwood Rettig will officiate. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
