Hazel A. Bennett, 85, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Alden Meadow Park Health Care Center.
She was born July 4, 1919 in Illinois the daughter of Robert and Albertina “Tina” Naggatz Hansberry. Hazel married Walter H. Bennett on October 24, 1947 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on August 9, 2003. Prior to her marriage Hazel was employed by Freeman Shoe Company. She was a full time homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Sarah (Roger) Bradley of Beloit, WI, Steven (Donna) Bennett of Shell Lake, WI, Keith Bennett Sr. of South Wayne, WI and Kathleen (Alan) Hertz of Middleburg, FL; 10 grandchildren, Roger Bradley Jr., Tina Rudnitzki, Randy Bradley, Todd Bradley, Ross Bradley, Michael Bennett, Kelly Bennett, Keith Bennett Jr., Eddie Bennett, and Justine Clark; 10 great grandchildren, Alexa Bradley, Clover Bradley, Roger Bradley III, Jacob Rudnitzki, Caleb Rudnitzki, Sirena Bradley, Erik Bennett, Zachary Bennett, Amanda Jo Williams and McKenna Bennett; one brother, Laurence (Clara) Hansberry of Beloit, WI.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Tina, three brothers, Raymond Hansberry, Robert Hansberry and Russell Hansberry, one sister, Margaret Campbell, great grandson, James Bradley and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Bennett.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from
6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Warren Franklin Berg, 84, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at his home.
He was born December 12, 1920 in Mankato, Minnesota, the son of Martin and Mae Mattin Berg. He was a 1938 graduate of Freeborn High School in Freeborn, MN. Warren married Agnes Chromey on November 25, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA. She predeceased him on March 7, 1995.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Warren was employed by Fairbanks Morse from 1948 until his retirement in 1986. He belonged to the Fairbanks Quarter Century Club. In his later years, he enjoyed his grandchildren, gardening, and sharing a meal with his friends from Beloit Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Vitkus of Sycamore, IL and Marsha (Edward) Lukasek of Sparta, WI; grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Both of Dekalb, IL, Dana (Greg) Gautcher of Sycamore, IL, Emily Lukasek of St. Paul, MN, Andrew Lukasek of Sparta, WI, Meredith Lukasek of Sparta, WI; great granddaughter, Jillian Reese Gautcher; sister, Rosemary DeLoache of Savannah, GA; brother, Mark (Frances) Berg of Springfield, MO.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Sparta, WI. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511.
Thomas V. Beaver, 59, of Roscoe, IL, died Wednesday, December 22, 2004 in Cross Road Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL.
He was born January 10, 1945 in Beloit, WI, the son of Cleo V. and Mae H. Sonneson Beaver. Tom was a graduate of Hononegah High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Tom was a self employed carpenter. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, golfer and Green Bay Packer fan. Tom was a former member of Temple Baptist Church, Rockford, IL.
Survivors include his children, Amy (Franco) Silvestri of Roscoe, IL, Mark (Colleen) Beaver of Des Plaines, IL and Melissa (Dean) Barnes of Roscoe, IL; four grandchildren, Grace and Jacob Silvestri, Jonathan and Jenna Beaver; two sisters, Nancy (Jack) Bittrick and Pat (Jerry) Rhead both of Roscoe, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Jeff Honson officiating. Burial will be in Pinnacle Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Carol R. Bridges, 47, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 in the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital.
She was born September 11, 1957 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Jackadean L. and Alvern Reid Bridges. Carol was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Andrea L. Bridges, Terrence D. Bridges, Corey D. Bridges and Arthur J. Bridges; two grandchildren, Demonte Bridges and Taylor Rolon; her mother, Alvern P. Davis; four sisters, Teresa A. Bridges, Alvern P. Olaleye, Deborah K. Greene and Phyllis E. Bridges; one brother, Kirk D. Bridges; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, grandparents, sister, Belinda J. Thomas and a niece, Jennifer R. Bridges.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Graveside services will be 10:15 a.m. Friday in East Lawn Cemetery.
Ian Edward Blevins, infant son of Shayne and Sandra Kutz Blevins was born December 4, 2004 and died shortly after birth on Sunday, December 5, 2004 in Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Shayne and Sandy Blevins of Roscoe, IL; brother, Nathan Blevins at home; paternal grandparents, William and Sandy Blevins of Sterling, IL; maternal grandparents, Ed (Diane) Kutz of Humboldt, TN; great grandparents, Leonard and Mary Hahn of Sterling, IL; uncles and aunts, Lathe (Mary) Blevins and their children, Jake and Cody Blevins, Debbie (Tim-godfather) Wilhite and their children Andrew and Blake Wilhite; godmother, Ann Seigel.
Ian’s miraculous life was short but touched so many.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Angel, Samuel and Olivia, great grandparents, Leo and Marge Payne, Lucille and John Kutz, Marvin and Fannie Blevins.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of services Thursday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

George W. Bersch, 92, of North Carolina and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC

He was born on April 7, 1912 in Highland Park, IL, the son of William E. and Adelide W. Leal Bersch. George was a graduate of Lake Forest College. He married Mary Mickey on August 15, 1936 in Wilmette, IL. She predeceased him in 1982.
George was the Pastor of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, retiring in 1976. He did professional Boy Scout work in Illinois for 10 years.

Camarya Nashae Boyd, infant daughter of Carl and Ebony (Listenbee) Boyd was silently born on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her parents, Ebony and Carl Boyd of Beloit, WI; brother, CamRon Boyd of Beloit, WI; maternal grandparents, Brenda (Eddie) Carroll-Lofton of Beloit, WI and Timothy (Gayle) Listenbee of Beloit, WI; paternal grandmother, Regina Boyd of Beloit, WI; maternal great grandparents, Frank (Bettie) Carroll and Anna Listenbee both of Beloit, WI; aunts and uncles, Timothy Listenbee II, Skylar Listenbee, Spencer Listenbee, Alicia Boyd all of Beloit, WI and Ellery Grier of Michigan; host of great aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by paternal great grandfather, Arnold Listenbee and paternal great grandmother, Lilly Bell Boyd.

Elgeva Adams Schickel Bacon, 99, of Beloit, WI, died October 20, 2004 in her home.
She was born on April 22, 1905 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Harry Wilfred and Prudence Bennett Adams. Elgeva was a 1922 graduate of Beloit High School and a 1926 graduate of Beloit College. She earned a Master of Art Degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1936. In 1942 she was issued a patent for general utility brushes. Elgeva married Alvin H. Schickel in December of 1927. He predeceased her in 1959. She later married George Wright Bacon, a 1923 graduate of Beloit College, on December 28, 1962 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on April 23, 2002.
In 1949 Elgeva along with Laura and Dolph Stanley of Beloit College co-founded Bridge Anonymous of Equal membership known as Town and Gown for the Beloit community and college. She was also the co-founder of the Adams Family Fountain which was dedicated at the Riverfront May 11, 1996. Elgeva was very proud of the joy and pleasure this fountain brought to the families, children and visitors that enjoyed Beloit Riverside Park. She was interested and helpful to many Beloit organizations throughout her life. Elgeva was a life time and honorary member of the Beloit College Chapin Society, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Fortnightly Club and the Beloit Country Club Women’s Golf Group. She was a member of the Beloit College Alumni Association, Beloit Historical Society where she was instrumental in the Adams Collection Room, Beloit Art League, the Symphony Guild of Beloit and Janesville Symphony Orchestra and Delta Gamma Sorority.
Survivors include her step children, Eloise Horn of San Diego, CA and John H. Bacon of Torrance, CA; step grandchildren, Pam Raney, Andrienne Moss and Steven Horn; two step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Prudence (Charles) Adams Harker of Roscoe, IL, Polly Adams of Topeka, KS, Allen (Jacqueline) Adam II of Austin, TX, John Adams of Janesville, WI, Vonnie Adams of Beloit, WI and Susan (Earl) Paddock of Elkhorn, WI; grandnieces and grandnephews, Hilary Remijas, Hagen Harker, Inga Adams, Allan Adams III, Alison Paddock and Emily Raub; one great grandniece and four great grandnephews.
A gathering of friends will be held for a Celebration of her life at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2004 in the First Congregational Church with the Reverend Shawn Stapleton officiating. A reception will be held after the service.
Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit College Alumni Association, the Friends of the Riverfront or the Beloit Chapter of the Salvation Army.
LeRoy A. Brown, 33, of Beloit, WI, died after a battle with cancer on Friday, November 12, 2004 surrounded by his family and friends at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 4, 1971 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of Joel Jones and Annette Kinney Brown. LeRoy was a 1989 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. LeRoy married Laurie L. Larson on March 17, 1992 in Janesville, WI.
LeRoy worked at C.C.I. as a truck driver. He was a dedicated employee and will be deeply missed by all his co-corkers. LeRoy was a wonderful father, hard worker and always took care of everyone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stockcar and go cart racing. LeRoy attended the Life Church of Roscoe, IL.
Survivors include his loving wife, Laurie; sons, Phyllip and Zachary Brown; mother, Annette (David) Schuler of Beloit, WI; father, Joel Jones of Texas; sister, Cheryl (Kevin) Hauger of Walworth, WI; brothers, Michael (Carol) Brown of Davenport, IA and Steven (Shanie) Jones of Beloit, WI; half-sister, Linda Paddock; half-brothers, Larry, John, Joel and Robert Jones; step-sister, Jennifer Schuler of Beloit, WI; step-brother, James Schuler of Janesville, WI; special grandfather-in-law, Loren Bengtson, several aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Lauren, grandparents and nephew, Adam Jones.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Kevin Kringle from Life Church of Roscoe, IL officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
