KELLY DAVID BRINKMEIER, 60, of South Beloit, IL, died Monday, June 30, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 18, 1942 in Freeport, IL, the son of Reuben and Arlene Olthoff Brinkmeier. Kelly was a 1960 graduate of Pearl City High School. He married Lou Ann Najdowski on October 3, 1987 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Rockford, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann; one son, Anthony (Christie) Brinkmeier of Wimberley, TX; four grandchildren, Zach, August, Hannah, and Reuben; his mother, Arlene Brinkmeier of Pearl City, IL; one sister, Mary (Ron) Baysinger of Stockton, IL; two brothers, Neil (Judy) Brinkmeier of Amboy, IL, and Kyle (Kathleen) Brinkmeier of Pearl City, IL; mother-in-law, Alvera Najdowski of Beloit, WI; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Kelly’s sense of humor and jokes will be missed by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Reuben and father-in-law, Hillard Najdowski.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend John Heins and Reverend Kathleen Brinkmeier officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

DEAN JAMES BUCHANAN, 39, of Glen, Mississippi, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in Jackson-Madison General Hospital, Jackson, TN.

He was born August 26, 1963 in Edgerton, WI, the son of Earl Lewis and Betty Jane Stickler Buchanan. Dean married Tammy Hancock on January 30, 1982 in Beloit, WI.

Dean was employed by Intex Plastic Corporation as a machine operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and Nascar.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy of Glen, MS; two children, Jacob “C.J.” Buchanan and Tiffany Rae Buchanan both of Glen, MS; his mother, Betty Jane Buchanan of South Beloit, IL; one brother, Charles Clayton (Jacqueline) Buchanan of Neenah, WI; one sister, Jeanette Mae (Eddy) Ostenson of South Beloit, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Earl Lewis Buchanan, grandparents, Bernice and Charles Stickler.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Jeanette Hillesland officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery, Rockton, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

DOROTHY D. BEHLING, 72, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, May 18, 2003 in Haven House, Janesville, WI.

She was born May 20, 1930 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Francis D. and Kathleen L. Manning Johnson. Dorothy married Roger R. Behling on September 23, 1950 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on November 4, 2001. Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church were she was active in the women’s guild and the altar guild. She was a very active member of the 1948 Beloit High School Reunion Committee.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey (Karen) Behling of McFarland, WI, and Linda Kay (Joe) Cook of Beloit, WI; two grandchildren, Michael F. (Rebekah) Cook and Thomas J. Cook both of Beloit, WI; one brother, Donald D. Johnson of Davis, IL; several nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003 in the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend William Wagner officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to HospiceCare Inc., St. Johns Women’s Guild or the Altar Guild.

LOWELL A. BERG, 74, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, May 12, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 25, 1928 in Belvidere, IL, the son of Warren T. and Anna Hughes Berg. Lowell was a 1946 graduate of Belvidere High School. He married Joyce Brown on June 20, 1954 in Dundee, IL.

Lowell managed the Beloit Grain Company until his retirement. He was a past member of the Beloit Jaycees and the Evening Lions Club. Lowell and his wife Joyce were past PTA presidents for Gaston, Lincoln and Aldrich Schools. He served on the City Planning Commission and two terms on the Rock County Board. Lowell and his wife are the owners of the nationally recognized Berg Angel Collection and co-founders of the Angel Museum in Beloit, WI. Lowell will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was an avid crossword puzzle worker, stamp collector and enjoyed playing with his men’s duplicate bridge group for over 40 years. Lowell was a member of Second Congregational Church.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce; one son, Brian (Diane) Berg of Oak Creek, WI, and their children, Andrew and Phillip Berg; one daughter, Julie (Don) Grassl of Dodgeville, WI, and their children, David and Amanda Grassl; two sisters, Janet Badynski of Carol Stream, IL, and Shirley Brenz of Stoughton, WI; one niece and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Douglas Gray officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

BEATRICE E. BUCKWALTER, 88, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 in her home.

She was born April 27, 1914 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Mathew and Clara Saum Bauer. Beatrice was employed by McNeany’s Department Store and Mildred’s Bridal Shop.

Survivors include her four daughters, Beverly Girard of Beloit, WI, Patricia Donaldson of Twin Lakes, WI, Joan Strickland of Ozark, MO, and Sharon (Thomas) Eldridge of Janesville, WI; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents, infant son, two sisters, and two brothers.

Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Kurt Handrich officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.

JOAN E. BRABAZON, 61, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, February 8, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 24, 1941 in Tomah, WI, the daughter of Harold and Marie Larrabee Day. Joan had been married to Fuzz Fossedal and Leonard Armato before marrying Dwight Brabazon on January 10, 1976 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on November 16, 1989. Joan enjoyed shopping, trips to the casinos, crocheting, computer games and being a mom and grandma.

Survivors include three children, Calvin Fossedal of LaCrosse, WI, William (Cindy Wilson) Armato of Beloit, WI, and Sheryl (Michael Townsend Jr.) Brabazon of Roscoe, IL; one grandson, William J. Armato of Beloit, WI; three sisters, Katherine “Toddy” Thorson, Mary (Bernie) Poff, and Sally (Red) Curry all of Beloit, WI; long time companion Butch Lounsbury of Beloit, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Norman Starks officiating. Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk, WI. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Marion Julia (Southam) Cotner, 91, of Beloit, WI, died after a short illness on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Sun Valley East, Beloit, WI.

She was born October 13, 1913 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of George Arthur and Julia Cone Southam. She was a 1931 graduate of Rockford High School and graduated from Carthage College in 1936. Marion received her Masters degree in 1975 from Rockford College.

Marion was employed by the Beloit School District from 1961 until 1978. She held memberships at Atonement Lutheran Church and Second Congregational Church where she was active in the music ministry. Marion was most recently a member of the Day Star Christian Fellowship where she was involved in Bible study. She belonged to the ADK and DKG education sororities, SAI music sorority and BAREA retired teachers group.

Survivors include her children, Jean Cotner Mayes of Davenport, IA, Julie (Ralph) Lee of Beloit, WI and Thomas (MaryAnn) Cotner of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren

She was predeceased by her parents and son-in-law, Walter Mayes.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Day Star Christian Fellowship Church with the Pastor Phil Allen officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice and Day Star Christian Fellowship Church.

Elia F. Caraballo, 58, of Chicago, IL, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 1, 1947 in La Palma De La Luz City Salvatierra, Guanajuato. ELia married Jose Dolores Rivera. He predeceased her. She was employed by Tweeten Fiber in Chicago, IL.

Survivors include her one son; six daughters and 16 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Ricardo officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.

Beatrice Ann Carlson, 71, of Beloit, WI, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born December 23, 1933 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Loren and Alma Meyers Cotton. Beatrice was a 1952 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married Kenneth E. Carlson on January 15, 1955 in Second Congregational Church.

Beatrice was employed by McDonald's for 18 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Second Congregational Church, Beloit, WI.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of Beloit, WI; children, Cheryl (James) Lind of Iron River, MI, Lori (Craig) Daskam of Beloit, WI and David Carlson of Duncanville, TX; four grandchildren, Kimberly Sturdevant, Christopher Sturdevant, Janice Rook and Stephen Rook; one great grandchild, Lucas Babler; mother-in-law, Stella Alwin of Beloit, WI; special friend, Rhonda Leonard.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Martha Pederson.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 in the Second Congregational Church with the Reverend Douglas Gray officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

Harry E. Coombs, 96, of Clinton, WI, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Alden Meadow Park Health Care Center in Clinton, WI.

He was born July 4, 1909 in Bloomington, WI, the son of Chris and Amy (Foster) Coombs. After graduating from High School, Harry attended various colleges and became a Certified Public Accountant. He married Ethel L. Patten on October 12, 1935 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on October 7, 1997.

Harry was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He sold insurance throughout the state until his retirement in 2001. Harry was a member of The American Legion Post #440, Masonic Lodge No. 10 F& A.M., Clinton Memorial V.F.W. Post, The Grange and Clinton Seniors Association. He was member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, WI.

He was predeceased by his wife and parents.

Survivors include his nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church, 312 Church Street, Clinton, WI, with the Pastor Doug Workman officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 until time of the service at the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in his name to the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, WI.
