Steven D. Denker, 44, of Janesville, WI, died Tuesday, September 9, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI.

He was born October 17, 1958 in Beloit, WI, the son of Don and Norma Denker. Steven attended Janesville schools and was active in cub and boy scouting. He was a 1977 graduate of Craig High School.

Steven always needed to see what was over the next hill, so he spent the last 26 years driving eighteen-wheelers over the road to many destinations for local trucking firms. T.N.T Logistics being his last, he has been awarded a safe driving decoration four straight years. Steven was a member of Local 95. His favorite pass time was his passion for Harley Davidson's and the pride and perfection he maintained in his bike. The days of happiness and the camaraderie with his fellow bikers and their endless adventures.

Survivors include his parents, Don and Norma Denker of Janesville, WI; one sister, Patricia Ridley of Waukegan; one brother, Mark (Kellie) Denker and their son Greg.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, aunt Janice, two uncles, Ronald, and Richard, one cousin, Scott.

Steve lived life as he wanted, no walls and no boundaries, always questioning and searching for something only he knew.

There will be no service for Steve, as he wanted it. Celebrate his life. He will be missed by many, forgotten by few.

MARY G. DAVIS, 74, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, July 28, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 30, 1929 in Richland County, WI, the daughter of Alexander Theodore and Prudence Mary Mick Hartley. Mary married Russell W. Davis on March 29, 1945 in Valley, WI.

Mary was employed by Rayovac in Madison, WI, Fairbanks Morse & Company and retired from Admiral Corporation in 1979. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle where she was active in the ladies auxiliary and the senior prayer group.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Russell; two daughters, Diana L. Davis and Angela L. (Fiancé Steve Dittmer) Faust both of Beloit, WI; two grandsons, Michael C. Nielsen and Robbie W. (Jody) Faust both of Beloit, WI; one great granddaughter, Alexus Faust; sisters-in-law, Marie Hartley of Tomah, WI, and Evelyn Davis of Reedsburg, WI; three brothers-in-law, Edwin Davis of Mauston, WI, Everett Davis and Donald (Sharon) Davis both of Madison, WI; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, six brothers, Ferris, Everett, Roy, Orley, Theodore, and Amos, three sisters, Myrtle, Ruby and Hazel, brothers-in-law, Elmer and Ronald, two sisters-in-law, Ethel and Vera.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003 in the Calvary Tabernacle Church 1907 McKinley Avenue with the Reverend E. A. Kaske officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church.

FRANCES JEAN DOTSON, 70, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, July 26, 2003 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

She was born March 25, 1933 in Bancroft, WI, the daughter of John and Dollie Nigh Rice.
Frances married Mose Dotson on May 23, 1962 in Chicago, IL. She was a greeter at Wal Mart.

Survivors include her husband, Mose of Beloit, WI; one son, Warren Lawrence of Detroit, Michigan; six sisters, Lanolla (Arthur) Narbone of Beloit, WI, Stella Carter of South Beloit, IL, Agnes Wille of Loves Park, IL, Shirley Clarke of Ten Mile, TN, Esther Erickson of Arizona, Josephine (Al) Hawkins of Brodhead, WI; one brother, Elroy (Sue) Rice of Beloit, WI; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, parents, five sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003 in Central Christian Church with the Reverend Norman Starks officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

WILBUR JOHN (Willie) DIETZMAN, 87, of Beloit, WI, passed to eternal life on Monday evening, July 21, 2003 at his home, following a short time in hospice care.

He was born December 7, 1916 in Cazenovia, WI, the son of Milton and Ada Josephine (Van Wormer) Dietzman. Wilbur graduated as the valedictorian of the South Beloit High School class of 1934, after which he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and the United States Army. His 55 year journey through life with his wife Verna Wolfram commenced on December 16, 1939, and he lovingly cared for her through her final years until her death on March 31, 1994.

Wilbur worked for 43 years for Yates American where he was active in the Quarter Century Club and union activities. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church since 1939. Wilbur enjoyed going to Grinnell Hall, playing dartball, going to Bible study and Lutheran Layman's League. The family especially wants to thank the friends and volunteers that enabled him to attend church (especially Mildred and Oscar Wedel), Lions Camp, and events for the visually handicapped which he enjoyed sharing with his friend Lee Snow.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl A. Licary of Beloit, WI; two grandchildren, Nunzio Licary and Chiara Licary both of Beloit, WI; one sister, Joyce (Conrad) VanWormer of Beloit, WI; beloved nieces, Carla (Thomas) Stanley, and Phyllis (Richard) Olmstead both of Beloit, WI; several other nieces and nephews, and his very special friend, Veronica Hasselman of Beloit, WI.

Wilbur's cheerful attitude and strong faith led him and his family through many difficult times, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents, one daughter, Lauren Dietzman, one brother, Gerald Dietzman, and three half sisters, Az Bigelow, Mary Wendtland and Iris Robinson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Mark B. Yates officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice or St. John's Lutheran School.

REUBEN O. DERKE, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 7, 1916 in Cottage Grove, WI, the son of Julius and Ellen Swenson Derke. Reuben married Genevieve B. Austin on November 2, 1939 in Dubuque, IA.

Reuben was employed by Bendix and formerly Besly Welles for 40 years. He was a member of Free Methodist Church in Beloit, WI.

Survivors include his two children, Dennis B. Derke of Stoughton, WI and Sharon M. Dillett of Somonauk, IL; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Derke of Duluth, MN; daughter-in-law, Sandra Derke of Arkdale, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Genevieve, one son, Frank Derke, daughter-in-law, Judith Derke, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Darrell Arms officiating Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery, Rockton, IL. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to the American Heart Association.

ROGER DAMMEN Jr., 43, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, June 6, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born May 31, 1960 in Beloit, WI, the son of Roger and Kay McKinney Dammen Sr. Roger was a 1978 graduate of Hononegah High School.

Roger was employed by Midstates for several years and was currently self-employed and attending Blackhawk Technical College to become an electrician. He enjoyed his 1969 Camero and his motorcycle. Roger was an avid Packer fan.

Survivors include his parents, Roger (Kay) Dammen Sr. of South Beloit, IL; three sisters, Brenda Harrison, Barbara (Jerry) Wilson, and Gail Dammen all of South Beloit, IL; one brother, Randy Dammen of Beloit, WI; five nieces and nephews, Brad Dammen of Beloit, WI, Rachel and Anita Wilson of South Beloit, IL, Mindy and Barry Harrison of South Beloit, IL; aunts and uncles, Venida (Leo) Hunt of Utah, Sandy Booth of Mississippi, Marian Williams of South Beloit, IL, Arthur 'Bud' (Linda) Dammen of South Beloit, IL, and Ginger Dammen of Louisiana; special friends, Mike Selgren and Sue Dammen both of Beloit, WI.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Rick Wagner officiating. There will be no visitation. There will be a gathering to greet the family following services at Frank & Sally's Park Place 723 S. Park South Beloit, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

JOHN P. DUDA, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born December 17, 1920 in Fayette County, PA, the son of Joseph and Anna Burda Duda. John graduated from Bloomfield High School, Lincolnville, PA. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard. John married Marjorie Snow on July 8, 1945 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him in November of 1986.

John was employed by Fairbanks Morse & Company, retiring on December 10, 1985. He was a member of Fairbanks Morse Quarter Century Club. John was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Diana (Duane) Noto of Cottage Grove, MN; two grandchildren, Keith Daniel Noto and Shanna Dairn Noto; two brothers, Frank Duda and Walter Duda both of Pennsylvania.

He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, and four brothers.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003 in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 212 W. Grand Ave, Beloit, WI. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph of Arimathea Columbarium. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in John's name to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society

RITA MARIE MORROW-DUELL, 44, of 361 Highland Ave., Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in the University Hospital, Madison, WI.

She was born February 19, 1959 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Bangor and Josephine Scott Morrow. Rita was a 1979 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married James Duell on November 21, 1979 in Janesville, WI. Rita enjoyed painting pictures, computers and playing games. Rita was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, James of Beloit, WI; mother and step father, Josephine (Anthony 'Tony') Kundert of Beloit, WI; two sisters, Mary Lou (Kurt) Armstrong of Janesville, WI, and Marlene (Michael) Barden of Evansville, WI; one brother, Gregory (Crystal) Morrow of Beloit, WI; several nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and mother-in-law, Delores Mitchell Duell of St. Paul, MN.

She was predeceased by her father, Bangor Morrow, maternal and paternal grandparents, two brothers, Chris and Scott Morrow, aunt, Gerri, and father-in-law, David James Duell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

DOUGLAS D. DARWIN, 67 of South Beloit, IL, died Friday, March 7, 2003 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 21, 1935 in Black River Falls, WI, the son of John and Mabel Garver Darwin. Douglas married Edith "Eddie" Gums on July 13, 1957 in Rockton, IL. She predeceased him January 28, 1997. Douglas was employed by Rogers Concrete, until his retirement in 2000.

Survivors include his children, Mary Ann (Richard) Munn of North Carolina, Tim (Judy) Ames of Hertel, WI, Debra (Mark) Hill of Trego, WI, Michael Dean (Barb) Darwin of Arizona, Anna (Jim) Riley of Beloit, WI, and Diana Darwin of Beloit, WI; eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Cleo Wood - Kamholtz of South Beloit, IL and Naomi "Babe" Schultz of South Beloit, IL; two brothers, Victor "Vic" Darwin of Beloit, WI and Gerald (Dorothy) Darwin of Black River Falls, WI; He is further survived by several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Douglas was predeceased by his wife, parents and one sister, Evelyn "Tutty" Strube.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003 in Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Jason Turner officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Memories Chapel in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the family.
