Donald A. Edwards, 74, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, January 12, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born on September 17, 1929 in Beloit, WI, the son of Roger O. and Hazel Wendell Edwards. Donald married Anna Lay on September 27, 1947 in St. Jude Catholic Church. She predeceased him on February 13, 2002.

Donald was employed by Gerber Baby Foods for 28 years, retiring in 1987. He was a former vice president of MADD and Muscular Distrophy Club of Beloit. Donald was a former member of the Holy Name Society of St. Jude.

Survivors include his children, Donald (Cynthia) Edwards Jr. of Howell, MI, Richard (Patricia) Edwards of Winona, MN and Colleen Shoemaker of Beloit, WI; seven grandchildren, Erin (Rachael) Edwards, Ryan (Shirley) Edwards, Genesa (Tyson) Evenson, Laura (Matt) Cummings, Shawn (Erin) Edwards, Jessica Edwards, and Daniel Shoemaker; ten great grandchildren, Nicholas Edwards, Cameron Edwards, Lauren Evenson, Christopher Edwards, Mariah Edwards, Ashland Edwards, Ethan Cummings, Bryce Cummings, Kaleb Edwards and Samuel Edwards; two brothers, Richard (Betty) Edwards of Beloit, WI and James (Pam) Edwards of High Point, NC ; nieces and nephews

He was predeceased by his parents, son, Daniel Edwards and brother, Roger Edwards.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name to MADD.

Ronald Evans, 49, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 in Sun Valley East, Beloit, WI.

He was born on March 16, 1954 in Beloit, WI, the son of Bill Evans and Emma Margaret North. Ronald enjoyed going to church, bible study, playing games, riding his uncle's ATV and being with others.

Survivors include his aunts and uncles, William and Virginia Olson, Jesse and Eleanor North both of Beloit, WI, and Butch North of Rockford, IL; cousins, Mark (Maureen) Olson of Fort Atkinson, WI, Stanley (Julie) Olson of Beloit, WI, Dawn (Curtis) Spears of Monroe, AR and George Simpson of Beloit, WI; numerous other cousins and relatives.

He was predeceased by his mother, grandparents, Perry and Lillian North, and a cousin, Marjorie Petitt.

Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Karen Stubblefield officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given in his name to Gridley Congregational Church.

MAUDE P. ERLANDSON, 88, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 8, 1915 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Maude Schaffer Ellsworth. Maude was a 1933 graduate of Beloit High School. She married George H. Erlandson on December 17, 1938 in Beloit, WI.

Maude was employed by Dr. D.T. Ryan Optical for 15 years, Bowman Chevrolet, and Budweiser Chevrolet as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband, George of Beloit, WI; two daughters, Diana (Allan) Grube of Verona, WI, and Pamela Stewart of Cedarville, IL; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents, one daughter, Judy and one brother, Francis Ellsworth.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003 in St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

BURNAY D. ELLIOTT, 88, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, May 30, 2003 in Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.

She was born August 4, 1914 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Swanti and Lula Saylor Swallender. Burnay married Edgar 'Doc' Elliott on April 7, 1933 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on July 13, 1980.

Survivors include her five children, Arthur (Kay) Elliott of Beloit, WI, Judy Moldenhauer of South Beloit, IL, Sandy (Alvin) Howell of Hancock, WI, Idalu (Chuck) Sennett of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Sue Schmoldt of Beloit, WI; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents, three children, one sister, Adelaide Phelps and one brother, Kenneth Swallender.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m Wednesday, June 4, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Mary Froiland officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m.Thursday, June 5, 2003 in the Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, WI. There will be no visitation.

MARY E. Ek, 84, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, February 8, 2003 in her home.

She was born August 24, 1918 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Harry C. and Elizabeth Leuenberger Holcombe. Mary married Robert Ek on November 7, 1942 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on November 14, 2001.

Mary and her husband owned and operated for over 50 years Tradewinds Importers in Lake Geneva, WI, which dealt in Southwest Indian art. She retired in 1997. She was a member of Rock County Humane Society, and the Y.W.C.A. Mary raised and bred champion parakeets for many years. Mary was a member of Second Congregational Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a choir member.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Mary Young of Naperville, IL; one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Young; father of Sara, Stewart Young of Lake Geneva, WI; a special friend who was like a daughter, Lonna (Craig) Temple of Middleton, WI; she is also survived by Molly and Mikey and Max the cat.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2003 in Second Congregational Church with Reverend Douglas Gray officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rock County Humane Society or Breast Cancer Research.

Russell G. Fleming, 72 of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at his home.

He was born June 21, 1932 in Belvidere, IL, the son of Roy A. and Alice Russell Fleming. Russell was a 1949 graduate of Capron High School. He married Donna M. Roth on March 7, 1953 in the Westside Presbyterian Church.

Russell served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Fleming Heating & Air Conditioning from 1964 until 1995. Russell was a member of the South Beloit Businessmens' Club and South Beloit Lions Club. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and a wizard with the T.V. remote control.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Donna; son, Greg (Holly) Fleming of South Beloit, IL; daughters, Kerry Fleming of Rockton, IL., and Cindy (Richard) Staley of Winter Garden, FL; son, Randy (Robin) Fleming of Rockton, IL; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Robert (Muriel) Fleming of Red Feather, CO; sister, Donna (Darwin) Blake of Loveland, CO; brother, Dale (Joanne) Fleming of McHenry, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 in Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Reverend Ron Hodges officiating. Burial will be held at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in the funeral home.

A memorial will be established in his name.

Alberta Lucille Farrell, 86, of Roscoe, IL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 3, 2005.

She was born on August 7, 1918 in Linden, WI, the daughter of Marshall and Pearl Faul Smith. Alberta married Donald J. Farrell on December 19, 1941 in Kahoka, MO. He predeceased her on June 12, 1956.

Alberta was employed by Atwood Industries for 25 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Sand Castle and Heritage Baptist Church. Alberta was an avid reader and a devoted Christian. She had a great sense of humor and loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Jim (Sue) Farrell of South Beloit, IL, David (Trish) Farrell of Kirkland, WA, Dennis Farrell of Roscoe, IL, Patricia (William) Koenig of North Brook, IL, Bernadine (Jeff) Crall of Beloit, WI and Sandra Smith of Beloit, WI; 12 grandchildren, Donald (Julie) Farrell and Richard Farrell both of Belfair, WA, Gregg Farrell of Adams, WI, Kenneth Smith Jr., David Smith, Michael (Mandi) Crall, James Crall all of Beloit, WI, John Koenig of Phoenix, AZ, Joyce (Jim) Binkley of Aurora, IL, Diana (Tom) Beyer of Twin Lakes and Colleen (Aaron) Rittenoure of Seattle, WA; 13 great grandchildren, Spencer, Taylor, Hayley, KC, JJ, Chelsey, Sammie, Joseph, Colton, Kallysa, Macy, Nicholas and Blake; one sister, Velma 'Bonnie' Laessig of Stratford; sister-in-law, Ruth Smith of South Beloit, IL.

She was predeceased by her parents, son, Kenneth Farrell, grandson, Jeffery D. Smith, brothers, Harold (Ann) Smith, and Roscoe 'Bud' Smith, sisters, Anita (Elmer) Peck and Alice (Adam) Bach, son-in-law, Kenneth Smith Sr.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2005 in Heritage Baptist Church 12848 Willow Brook, Roscoe, IL, with Pastor James C. Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Monday in the church.

Laurie Jean Francis, 51, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 in the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, WI.

She was born on March 9, 1953 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Curtis M. and Genevieve M. Milner Nenneman. Laurie was a 1971 graduate of Clinton High School. She married George Francis on October 13, 1971 in the First Baptist Church, Clinton, WI.

Laurie was a member of the Marine Corp. Auxiliary and the South Beloit American Legion Auxiliary. She was an active volunteer at the Angel Museum. Laurie enjoyed reading, antiques and her cats.

Survivors include her husband, George of Beloit, WI; one son, Mike (Kerryn) Francis; one grandson, Gabriel Francis; two brothers, Craig (Alison) Nenneman and Fred (Sheree) Nenneman; mother-in-law, Josephine Francis of Beloit, WI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sam (Midge) Francis, Jim (Ruth) Francis, Nick (Mary) Francis, Ken (Sue) Francis all of Beloit, WI; Doris (George) Warner of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Gert (Melvin 'Tuff') Olsen of Nekoosa, WI; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and father-in-law, Harry Francis.

Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005 in the First Baptist Church 309 Allen Street, Clinton, WI, with the Reverend Richard Hyman officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services Friday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Betty Jane Fisher, 82, of Clinton, WI, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Encore Senior Villa in Clinton, WI.

She was born March 24, 1922 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Adolph E. and Amelia Kohl Dudek. Betty was a 1940 graduate of Beloit High School. After graduating from High School she took many art classes and courses through the Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, MN, Beloit College, Blackhawk Technical School and U-Rock Junior College in Janesville, WI. Her pastel portraits were commissioned by many Beloiter's and gifted to many others. She enjoyed exhibiting a limited amount of her portraits and pastel rendering and won several contests. Betty married Louis 'Jack' Fisher on June 13, 1942 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on October 31, 1978.

She worked at Freeman Shoe Company as the Evening Supervisor of Data Processing until her retirement in 1988. Betty also worked at the Boys Club in Beloit and South Beloit. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church for over 55 years serving on several committees, was a past member of the Grant Wood Art Guild and decorated many trees for the Festival of Trees.

Survivors include her daughters, Coleen Ann (Merle) Cox of Beloit, WI, and Mary Beth (Robin) McLennan of Black Creek, WI; grandchildren, Colin Thomas McLennan and Logan Louis McLennan; step-grandchildren, Timothy Cox, Stephanie (Tracy) Chappell, Jennifer Kuipers, Benjamin Cox and dear friend, Dorothy Baptist.

She was predeceased by her parents, and sister, Vera Jeanne Dudek.

Betty's family would like to thank the staff of Clinton Encore Senior Villa for their excellent service and compassion in caring for Betty.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2004 in the Second Congregational Church with Reverend Doug Gray officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 29 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Beloit Boys and Girls Club.
