Margaret Geise, 85, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 in Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.

She was born March 17, 1919 in Henry, IL, the daughter of James and Margaret Tydeback McAllister. Margaret married Raymond Edward Geise on February 26, 1940 in Dubuque, IA. Raymond predeceased her on March 1, 1999.

Margaret loved working alongside her husband Raymond on the family farm on Newark Road. She was a member of Beloit Bible Students. Margaret loved music

Survivors include her children, Ronald W. (Jacalyn) Geise of Beloit, WI and Nancy A. (David) Stoikes of Laotto, IN; six grandchildren, Michael Geise of Beloit, WI, Melissa (Monty) Bosin, Jerome (Sheila) Stoikes, Paul Stoikes, Corintha (Tod) Montanye, all of Janesville, WI, and Jeremy Stoikes of Kendalville, IN; nine great grandchildren, Dustin Geise, Dillon Geise, Elizabeth Geise, Haleigh Bosin, Tatum Stoikes, Kensie Stoikes, Dawson Stoikes, Rheanne Montanye and Raquel Montanye; sister-in-law, Marge Hanson of Beloit, WI; half brother-in-law, Richard (Dorothy) Cox of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, David McAllister, three sisters, Harriet Clemmer, May Long and Ellen Vatoskay.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Elder Paul Mezera officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Harry N. Gibson, 85, of Roscoe, IL died Thursday, March 25, 2004 in Saint Anthony Medical Center.

He was born October 8, 1918 in Kilburn, WI, the son of Ferdinand and Grace Secor Gibson. Harry married Margaret Heitman on October 15, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa. She predeceased him on June 10, 1972. He married Viola Theis Smith on October 23, 1981. Harry came to the stateline area from the Wisconsin Dells area in the mid 1940’s. He built the family home in Roscoe in the 1950’s. Harry worked at Rockford Blacktop as a machine operator-engineer and belonged to the U.A.W. #150. Harry was a former member of the Beloit Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #191. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens, and was an avid Cubs fan. Harry and Vi wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida until his illness last year.

Survivors include his wife Viola of 22 years; daughters, Grace (Jack) Ahlquist of South Beloit, IL, Leta (Joe) Newgarden of Nashville, TN; step-son, Dave (Linda) Smith of LaVergne, TN; grandchildren, Jeff (Daniela) Ahlquist of Rockford, IL, Jodi Ahlquist and her fiancé Andy Pirrello of Rockford, IL, Margaret (Russell) Jordan of Nashville, TN, Carrie (Matt) Gaudiso of Nashville, TN, Jena Newgarden of Nashville, TN, Joleta Newgarden of Nashville, TN; four great grandchildren, Serena and Dane Ahlquist, Grace and Gibson Jordan; sister and brother-in-laws, Ella Heitman of Friendship, WI, Mina (Wayne) Zellmer of Beloit, WI, and Phyllis (Howard) Bork of Adams, WI; several nieces and nephews.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, first wife Margaret, brother Forrest, sister Mae, half-sister Sadie and half-brother Bruce.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004 at the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in the Roscoe Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 28, 2004 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Harlem-Roscoe Ambulance Service.

Thomas M. Gasser, 73, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 17, 1930 in Reedsburg, WI, the son of Martin and Margaret (La Sage) Gasser. Thomas graduated from Cazenovia High School and Blackhawk Technical College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Thomas married Betty Petitt on August 20, 1960 in Rockford, IL.

Thomas was employed by Beloit Corporation and Coltec Industries, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Morning Star Lodge No 10 F.& A.M. Thomas was a former member of Phoenix Chapter #215, Order of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. Thomas volunteered for many city committees.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Beloit, WI; daughter, Sheri (Jeffrey) Gehrke of McFarland, WI; son, Joseph Gasser of Milton, WI; two granddaughters, Marissa and Elise Gehrke; two brothers, Phillip (Carmen) Gasser of Madison, WI and Charles Gasser of Tempe, AZ; one sister, Jeannette (Donald) Klang of Cazenovia, WI; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Alfred and LeRoy Gasser.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2004 in the St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. and a Masonic Service at 7:45 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name to St. Jude Catholic Church.

Lorna A. Granger, 63, of Beloit, WI, was sent to heaven Saturday, December 20, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born on October 7, 1940 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Shirl S. and Hilda A. Fick Spangler. Lorna was a 1958 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She was employed by Pate Foods for 35 years. Lorna enjoyed life to the fullest, doing whatever meant the most to her and her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Stacy (Doug) Beeler of Beloit, WI and Mark Granger of Rockford, IL; three grandchildren, Brandyn Lindsey, Jenna Beeler and Lindsey Beeler; three sisters, Luella (Eugene)Cuff , Winifred Thomas both of Beloit, WI and Shirley Donkers of Ormond Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, two sisters and one brother-in-law.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Dale O. Griep, 77, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, October 4, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 5, 1926 in Neillsville, WI, the son of Fred and Myrtle Heasley Griep. Dale was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He married Donna L. LaGrange on November 10, 1962 in Beloit, WI.

Dale was employed by Fairbanks Morse & Company. He was the owner and operator of a gas station on the corner of State Street and Shirland Avenue for many years. In 1968 Dale was employed by Northern Star Plating and later owned Tri City Plating, retiring in 1992. Dale owned many rental properties in the city.

Survivors include his wife Donna; children, Carolyn (Lang) Colcord of Loves Park, IL, Judith (Jim) Pulaski of Beloit, WI, William Griep of Beloit, WI, Richard (Lori) Griep of Roscoe, IL, Angela Griep and Jonathan (Sherry) Griep both of Beloit, WI; nine grandchildren, Ed Bender, Wade Pulaski, Jennifer Griep, Lisa Hughes, Joshua Griep, Kaitlyn Griep, Andrea Griep, Kaylee Griep and Dylan Griep; four great grandchildren, Emily Hughes, Jeffrey Hughes, Matthew Bender and T.J. Pulaski; two sisters, Doreen (Bob) Gard and Joyce (Gerald) Monroe both of Beloit, WI; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Orville Griep and Elmer Griep, one sister, Lorraine and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Kurt Handrich officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Melvin A. Gould, 87, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 in his home.

He was born May 17, 1916 in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Albert and Martha Kuep Gould. Melvin was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He married Wilna I. Stephenson on July 3, 1937 in Emerald Grove Congregational Church, Emerald Grove, WI.

Melvin was employed by Beloit Corporation as a field erector and research supervisor for 34 years, retiring in 1976. After his retirement from Beloit Corporation his main hobby was the restoration of antique clocks. He was a member of the Beloit Corporation Quarter Century Club and the Morning Star Lodge No 10 F. & A.M. Melvin was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 62 years serving as a trustee and board member. He also served in various capacities in the church to include Sunday school teacher and maintenance.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Wilna of Beloit, WI; two daughters, Kathy (John) Dopp of Beloit, WI and their children, Jeffrey Dopp and William Dopp; Priscilla (Raymond) Noggle of McKinleyville, CA and their children, Leslie Noggle, Randy Noggle, Tammy Arno, Debbie Espinoza, Bradley Noggle, Ray Noggle; 13 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and one grandson, Scott Noggle.

Private graveside services will be held in East Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Hans L. Gregersen, 88, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, February 24, 2003 in his home.

He was born on December 30, 1914 in Entrican, MI, the son of Rasmus and Kirsten (Hansen) Gregersen. Hans married Dolores Lehman on September 23, 1933 in Crown Point, IN.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI. Hans worked as a serviceman at Sears for 17 years and Montgomery Wards for 14 years retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Kiwanis-Golden K’s, Burlington, Wisconsin Police Dept Volunteer, Literacy Tutor, delivered Meals on Wheels, Share Food Program and Caritas volunteer. Hans was active with the Boy Scouts, Indian Guides and Little League. He also enjoyed babysitting for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Dolores; six children Neil (Nancy) Gregersen of Waukesha, WI, Avis Ann Koss of Sturdevant, WI, William (Kari) Gregersen of Harlingen, TX, Rev. Paul (Jeanie) Gregersen of Beloit, WI, Donald (Geri) Gregersen of Oklahoma City, OK, Dave (Linda) Gregersen of Wausau, WI; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Vivian Giesler of Colorado; four brothers, Nelsy Gregersen of Michigan, Ray (June) Gregersen of Missouri, George (Rita) Gregersen of Michigan, John (Edith) Gregersen of California; son-in-law Arthur (Elaine) Koenig of Burlington, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and one daughter, Lynda Koenig.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. with Rev Edward May officiating. Burial will be held in Lyons Township Cemetery in Lyons, WI. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday February 27, 2003 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

Shannon L. Gunn, 80, of Beloit, WI, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2003 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 7, 1923 in Chippewa Falls, WI the son of Edward and Anna Lekies Gunn. Shannon was a veteran of the WWII serving with the U.S. Army. He married Fern L. Dodge on October 4, 1941 in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Shannon was a self employed TV repairman and manufactured Dobro Guitars. Music was his life and passion. He was a talented musician playing the harmonica, banjo, fiddle and guitar. Shannon was a member of the Concertina World Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Fern; sons, Gary (Marian) Gunn of Marshfield, WI, Dennis Gunn of Beloit, WI, Gordon (Nancy) Gunn of Beloit, WI, and Brad (Rhonda) Gunn of Beloit, WI; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, daughter: Karol.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2003 in Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Norman Starks officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Beloit, WI. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.
