Maud Erma Hentsch, 101, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, August 7, 2004 in Sun Valley West, Beloit, WI.

She was born November 19, 1902 in South Wayne, WI, the daughter of George and Emma Schultz Scheidegger. Maud married Ralph Hentsch on April 25, 1925 in Rockford, IL. He predeceased her on June 13, 1994. Maud was employed by Fairbanks Morse Company for 25 years, retiring in 1967.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Jean) Hentsch of Sarona, WI, Marilyn (Owen) Olson of Beloit, WI and Doris Smith of Beloit, WI; seven grandchildren, Suzanne Croake, Judy Croake, Debra (Tim) Kosier all of Beloit, WI, Sandra (Dwaine) Rundle of Madison, WI, Douglas (Trudi) Hentsch of Middleton, WI, Janet (Terry) Pickett of Onalaska, WI and Bradley (Karen) Olson of Waukesha, WI; nine great grandchildren, Melissa, Chelsea, and Ian Kosier, Mitch Rundle, Kelly, Kimberly and Kevin Pickett, Kirsten and Erik Olson; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, six brothers, Conrad, Owen, Ethan, Andrew, Howard and Donald Scheidegger, three sisters, Florence Schillenger, Vanessa Hanson and Eva Scheidegger.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Gene Van Galder officiating. Burial will be in Stateline Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Thursday in the funeral home.

Mary (Talley) Harrison, 86, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in her home.

She was born on July 9, 1918 in Bullsgap, TN, the daughter of Huebert and Freddie Lee Horner. Mary relocated to Wisconsin in 1947, where she would soon settle to raise her 12 children. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her wonderful home cooking and her love for bingo and pool.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Donna) Talley of Beloit, WI, Rose (Danny) Burbach of Darlington, WI, Judy (Talley) Trotter of Mesa, AZ, Roger (Kay) Talley of Beloit, WI, Annie (Dave) Murphy of Beloit, WI, Jim (Pam) Talley of Beloit, WI, Janet (Talley) Coleman of Beloit, WI and Ava (Clayton) McGonigle of New Lisbon, WI; one brother, Herbert “Nuchie” Horner of Greenville, TN; 52 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Beloit Memorial Hospital nurses on the 3rd floor and Beloit Regional Hospice for all their care.

She was predeceased by her children, Carolyn Brady, Sarah McGoy, Danny Talley, and Mary Woodward, her parents, brother, John Horner, grandchildren, Vickie Malmstrom, Mikie Woodward, Jay Pennewell and Christina Talley.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Erik Jelinek officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

Thomas Hemerley, 35, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 in his home.

He was born September 17, 1968 in Beloit, WI, the son of Charles and Judy Pfeiffer Hemerley. Thomas was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Mindy Hagstrom on September 9, 2000 in Central Christian Church.

Thomas was formerly employed by Frito-Lay for 10 years and was currently employed by Superior Drywall. He was a diehard Green Bay Packer and Nascar fan. Thomas enjoyed hunting and was a sports nut. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #191.

Survivors include his wife, Mindy; children, Tommy Hemerley and Madysen Hemerley both of Beloit, WI; his parents, Charles and Judy Hemerley of Beloit, WI; twin brother, Timothy (Michelle) Hemerley of Conifer, CO; sister, Annette (Rich) Mauerman of Beloit, WI; grandmother, Reta Keating of Beloit, WI; mommy-in-law, Linda Hagstrom of Rockton, IL; father-in-law, Randy (Sandie) Hagstrom of Roscoe, IL; half sisters and brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and dog, Nitchski.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with a Moose Service at 6:00 p.m.

Amber Claire Hocking, 7, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at home with her mother and father by her side. Amber had fought a long courageous battle with Leukemia.

She was born February 19, 1997, in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Allen and Lori (Heumiller) Hocking. Amber was in second grade at Clinton Elementary School. She loved going to school, riding the school bus, reading books and being outdoors. Amber made many friends and touched everyone that she met in a special way with her charm, wit and intelligence. All will sadly miss her.

Survivors include her parents, Lori and Allen Hocking, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Prayer services will be at 11:30 a.m.. Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be held at the Turtleville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. The family will be present to meet with family and friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service to be held at 6:00 p.m.

Breanna Jean Haase, infant daughter of Michael Kuznezow and Rachel Haase died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 in her home.

Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Arizona Cuttill and Lacy K. McNutt; maternal grandparents, Jean Haase and Robert D. Haase both of Beloit, WI; paternal grandparents, Victor Kuznezow of Beloit, WI and Linda DeVoe of Ft. Myers, FL; aunts and uncles, Tracy Conway, Kim Dopp both of South Beloit, IL, Richard Walsh, Brennan Walsh, Robert Haase all of Beloit, WI, and David DeVoe of New Jersey.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Private family services will be held.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Michael S. Horinka, 52, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 in his home.

He was born June 26, 1951 in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Steven J. and Josephine (Ziemak) Horinka. Michael married Margaret (Meg) Como on December 30, 1972 in Troy, New York.

Michael was involved with many area organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, as a 4th degree member, and 23 years in various positions with the Boy Scouts of America Sinnissippi Council. He was an adult member of the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed camping with family and the Boy Scouts, especially the time he spent as camp master with Phil Batchelor, and with the varsity troop from Milestone, Inc. in Rockford, IL. Michael was also involved with various committees and activities at St. Jude Catholic Church, Brother Dutton School and Beloit Catholic High School.

Survivors include his wife, Meg of Beloit, WI; daughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Klemme of Sheboygan, WI; two sons, John (Leslie) Horinka of Beloit, WI and Steven (Allison) Horinka of East Moline, IL; four grandchildren, Sara and Scott Klemme, Kalick Horinka and Alexander Horinka; his mother, Josephine Horinka of South Beloit, IL; sisters, Stephanie Karwowski of South Beloit, IL and Marcia Bush of San Diego, CA; aunts, uncles and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Steven, sister, JoAnn, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be given in Michael’s name to the Boy Scouts of America, St. Jude Catholic Church or Milestone, Inc.

Leonard Lee Hosey, 86, of Rockton, IL, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 in St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, IL

He was born October 6, 1917 in Webster Springs, West Virginia, the son of Henry Lee and Minerva Tharp Hosey. Leonard was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 101st and the 82nd Airborne. He married Verna Poss on May 5, 1951 in Galesville, WI.

Leonard was employed by Yates-American Machine Company and retired from Chrysler in 1983. He was a lifetime member of the Afton V.F.W. Post 2506, Rockton American Legion Post #332 and the Beloit Masonic Lodge No. 74 F& A.M. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Verna of Rockton, IL; five children, Nancy (Frank) McCallum of Galesville, WI, Linda Gjerseth of South Beloit, IL, Betty Stanley of South Beloit, IL, Rev. Ronald (Patti) Chastian of Burlington, KY, and Jeffrey (Melissa) Hosey of Durand, IL; grandchildren, Thomas Gjerseth, Amy Gjerseth, Laurie (Josh) Redieske, Miranda (Chris) Terrell, Sarah Stanley, Heather Hosey, Nathan Hosey, Aaron Hosey, Nichole Hosey, Matthew, Mark and Kelly Chastian and Elizabeth (Jamie) Malaugh; five great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Mick of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Hosey of Beloit, WI; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Kathryn, two brothers, James Hosey and William Hosey.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in Decorah Prairie Cemetery in Galesville, WI, with the Reverend Linda Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m.

Mary Alice Howard, 86, of Roscoe, IL and formerly of Bayfield, CO, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004 in St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, IL.

She was born January 14, 1918 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Terrence and Sarah Gaughan Reedy. Mary Alice was a 1936 graduate of Sullivan High School in Chicago, IL. She married Frederick Logan Howard Sr. on July 3, 1941 in Chicago, IL. In 1973 Mary Alice and her husband moved to their ranch in southwest Colorado near Durango, where they lived for 21 years prior to their return to Illinois.

Mary Alice is currently a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park, IL and was twice former president of the St. Anne’s Women’s Club of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Barrington, IL and a very active member of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Bayfield, CO. She enjoyed arts & crafts, playing bridge, doing floral arrangements, was an avid hiker and loved the outdoors.

She was the beloved mother of Frederick L. (Vicky) Howard Jr., James Anthony Howard both of Roscoe, IL and Mary Lynn Howard-Larkin of Loveland, CO; beloved grandmother of five grandchildren, Frederick L. Howard III of Carbondale, IL, Laura (Trent) Oler of South Beloit, IL, Heather (Chris) Diedrich, Catherine Anne Howard both of Cherry Valley, IL and Jace Timothy Larkin of Loveland, CO; beloved great grandmother of four great grandchildren, Karl Richard Oler, Derek Wolfgang Oler, Britta Danielle Oler and Claudia J. Oler; beloved sister of two brothers, Daniel (June) Reedy of Mesa, AZ and John Joseph (Sue) Reedy of Chicago, IL.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Rita Creech and Katherine Klaskin, one brother, Terrence Reedy.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park, IL, with Msgr. John Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Anita Herd, 67, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, January 30, 2004 in Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.

She was born September 11, 1936 in Neelyville, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew Elzie and Irene Mae Haynes Fischer. Anita was a graduate of Beloit High School. She married James Harvey Herd on July 24, 1957. Anita was employed by Jelco Bus Company. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Michael Terry Hall of Beloit, WI; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Pastor Curtis (Helen) Allen Sr. of Beloit, WI; nieces, Judy (Robert) Tucker of Beloit, WI, Regina Babbitt of Chicago, IL and Cynthia Allen of Beloit, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, one son, Larry Darnell Hall, one brother, James Haynes and one sister, Joanne Vance.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Charles F. Hereford officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to Community Baptist Church.
