Tilla I. “Tillie” Huebner, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, January 16, 2004 at home with her family.

She was born June 14, 1921 in Clinton, WI, the daughter of Edward and Mary Johnson Erickson originally from Norway. Tillie married Clifford W. Huebner on July 31, 1951. He predeceased her in 1987. Together they shared seven children.

Tillie was a homemaker. She was a lot of things but she was ours. “You know you can tell a Norwegian but you can’t tell them much”. Tillie was an avid Cub fan and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Mary (Kurt) Bratlie of Minnesota, Bill (Holly) Huebner of Beloit, WI, and Dale Huebner of Beloit, WI; two step children, Geraldine Huebner of Racine, WI and Clifford (Linda) Huebner of Kent, IL; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Theodore (Clem) Erickson of Augusta, WI.

Tillie was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who will be greatly missed.

She was predeceased by her parents, two infant children, six brothers, eight sisters, daughter-in-law, Lori and granddaughter, Stephenie.

Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. There will be no visitation.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Melvin Hanson, 88, of South Beloit, IL, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born on August 9, 1915 in Capron, IL, the son of John and Sarah Polglaze Hanson. Melvin married Helen Plunket on August 29, 1936 in Rockton, IL. She predeceased him on April 23, 1989.

Melvin was employed by Fairbanks Morse & Company for 42 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Fairbanks Morse Quarter Century Club and Christ United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his children, Ronald (Rhoda) Hanson of Waynesboro, PA, and Judy (Red) Peterson of Beloit, WI; two grandchildren, Mark (Mary) Peterson of Clinton, WI and Bonnie (David) Hess of Beloit, WI; five great grandchildren, Tim Hess, Andy Hess, Melanie Hess, Macy Peterson and Mitchell Peterson; two sisters, Myrtle Steffenson and Bernice Korbal; sisters-in-law, Florence Hanson and Barbara Hanson; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, twin brother, Milton, brother, Lee Hanson, sister, Florence Diemer, three brothers-in-law, Floyd Korbal, Joseph Diemer, and Lavern Steffenson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2004 in the Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Jo Bierer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in his name to Christ United Methodist Church.

Frances B. Hayden, 72, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 in her home.

She was born on June 21, 1931 in Delavan, WI, the daughter of Frank J. and Adela Woyak Casey. Frances married Russell Hayden Sr. on August 21, 1954 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on June 21, 1997.

Frances was employed by JC Penny and the Beloit Daily News. She was a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter #56 and Federated Women. Frances was a former den mother for pack #628.

Survivors include her three sons, Russell (Kathy) Hayden, James F. Hayden, and Philip J. (Jodi) Hayden all of Beloit, WI; two daughters, Adela Hayden and Barbara Hayden both of Beloit, WI; five grandsons, Michael, Matthew, Joseph, Garett and Aric; four granddaughters, Tracey, Tera, Tanya and Selena; four great grandchildren, Caylee, Logun, Paige and Dustin; one brother, Theodore (Gloria) Casey of Coloma, WI; two half brothers, John (Kathy) Frye of Sparta, WI and Joseph Frye of Rockford, IL.

She was predeceased by her parents, son, Theodore Hayden, sister, Catherine Jaeger and brother, James Casey.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2004 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Kortendick officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Eula L. Hayden, 78, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, December 19, 2003 in her daughter’s home.

She was born December 10, 1925 in Stockton, IL, the daughter of Leon and Esther Noll Wise. Eula was a 1943 graduate of Stockton High School. She married Donald E. Hayden on October 20, 1945 in Willow Methodist Church. He predeceased her on October 30, 1976.

Eula was employed by JI Case and Osco Drugs, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter #56 and Gridley Congregational Church.

Survivors include her children, Donna (Terry) Fields of Beloit, WI, Kenneth (Dottie) Hayden Sr. of South Beloit, IL, and Kevin (Kristi) Hayden of Janesville, WI; four sisters, Bernice (Earl) Bucher of Stockton, IL, Ilene (Donald) Rees of Lena, IL, JoAnn Magee of Stockton, IL, and Carol Buck of Freeport, IL; eight grandchildren, Vicky (Mike), Ken Jr. (Jill), Kris (Sarah), Tracey (Karl), Tera (Ryan), Ryan, Lauren, and Taylor; eight great grandchildren, Trent, Brandon, Dustin, Jacob, T.J., Paige, Alyson and Gregory.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Gene Van Galder and Reverend Douglas Gray officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.

Theresa E. Hanson, 61, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on April 22, 1942 in Harvey, IL, the daughter of Felix and Anna Lighaczewska Zielinski. Theresa married Thomas D. Hanson on August 8, 1959 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI.

Theresa was employed by Admiral Corp, Freeman Shoes, First American Credit Union and M&I Bank. She was a member of the quilting guild and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; three daughters, Shirley Hanson of Rockton, IL, Barbara (Pete) Smith of Janesville, WI and Rhonda Milner of Beloit, WI; six grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle) Petersen of Gurney, IL, Brett Eastlick, Amanda and Sarah Smith all of Janesville, WI, Johnathan and Zackary Milner both of Beloit, WI; two brothers, John (Jan) Zielinski of Reedsburg, WI and David (Donna) Zielinski of Milton, WI; two sisters, Lucille Payne of Beloit, WI and Frances (William) Christopherson of Denver, CO.

She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, Carl Payne.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Raymond B. Humke, 80, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 in his home.

He was born February 11, 1923 in Dubuque, IA, the son of William Andrew and Agnes Berg Humke. Ray graduated from Iowa State, Ames, Iowa in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Ray married Helen Mae Macomber on October 12, 1946 in Cascade, IA.

Ray was employed by Fairbanks Morse & Company for 35 years, retiring in 1980. During Ray’s retirement he enjoyed being with his family and friends, and enjoyed doing many activities with them. His hobbies included gardening, playing bridge, traveling and cooking. Ray built his own home and car. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon and a member of the Boiler Room crew.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; children, Nancy (Harold Thompson) Kressin of Beloit, WI, Carol (Ron) Warren of Louisville, KY, Janet (Jim) Gocht of Richland Center, WI, David (Connie) Humke of Madison, WI, and Brian (Ann) Humke of Cincinnati, OH; 11 grandchildren, Lisa (Steve) Hughes of Beloit, WI, Brad (Erika Schneider) Kressin of Seattle, WA, Todd (Beth) Warren of Louisville, KY, Jennifer (Travis) Scott of Broken Arrow, OK, Jeff (Brenda) Gocht of Belleville, WI, Derek Humke of Madison, WI, Daniel Humke of Madison, WI, Jessica (Peter) Olson of Milwaukee, WI, Matthew Humke, Andrew Humke and Mitchell Humke all of Cincinnati, OH; seven great grandchildren, Jonathan and Ryan Hughes, Trevor, Logan and Emma Warren, Megan and Alex Gocht; one brother, Roger Humke of Ocala, FL.

Ray was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His presence at all family gatherings will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, David Humke.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2003 in the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Memorials may be given in his name to First Presbyterian Church.

LeeRoy Heinz, 80, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, October 25, 2003 in his home.

He was born January 16, 1923 in Beloit, WI, the son of Carl Gustave and Florence Burdick Heinz. LeeRoy was a graduate of Hononegah High School. He married Winifred M. John on July 26, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. She predeceased him on February 7, 1999.

LeeRoy was employed by Beloit Corporation for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He was active in Boy Scouts and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. LeeRoy was a mall walker and especially enjoyed walking in the rain. He loved his family and enjoyed sharing in their activities.

Survivors include his children, Robert (Leta) Heinz of Fort Wayne, IN, Beverly Kuhnle Heinz, Barbara Fick-Keller, and Deborah (Steve) Beeman all of Beloit, WI; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Clarence Heinz.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch and Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Ron Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice.
