RICHARD JACK IRVIN, 77, of King, WI, and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Monday, June 9, 2003 in the Veterans Home in King, WI.

He was born June 28, 1925 in Madison, WI, the son of Raymond L. and Alma Reible Irvin. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He was owner and operator of R. Irvin Plasters. Jack was a charter member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church.

Survivors include his three daughters; one son; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat (Richard) Popovics of Beloit, WI and Jane Godfrey of Tucson, AZ.

He was predeceased by his parents, and one sister, Ramona Singer.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Patricia M. Jones, of Beloit, born June 25, 1928, died at Beloit Memorial Hospital, after a short illness, on December 31, 2004.

Pat was a 1950 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, and married Thomas M. Jones, a fellow classmate, on September 2, 1950. Coming to Beloit in 1950, her husband joined The Beloit Iron Works, and Pat was a social worker with Beloit Family Service. Together with a group of friends she was a partner in the Elegant Chicken Antique Shoppe, and after the business closed continued to have antique booths in Mt. Horeb, Delavan and South Beloit. A consummate gardener and home decorator, she opened her home to the Holiday Walk for the Beloit-Janesville Symphony, and for years served as a volunteer on the committees for the Holiday Walk and Festival of Trees. One of the founding members of Friends of the Riverfront, Pat would be found in the Spring, Summer, and Fall attending to the planting and weeding of the beautiful landscaping and flower beds in Riverside Park, and assisting in the Music at Harry's Place programs. The service to their Community by the team of Pat and Tom Jones was recognized by the dedication last year of the Patricia M. and Thomas M. Jones Pavilion at Riverside Park. Pat contributed her knowledge of antiques by being a member of the Curatorial Committee of the Beloit Historical Society, helping to preserve the history of her adopted hometown. Pat was known to hundreds of her fellow Beloiters through her over 50 uninterrupted years of service as a Volunteer at Beloit Memorial Hospital which included a leadership role in the On The Move Fund Drive to raise money to build the Hospital.

She is survived by her beloved family, husband, Thomas M. Jones, daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Holcomb, of Verona, two granddaughters, Emily and Sarah Holcomb, and a brother, Donald MacDonald, of Milwaukee.

There will be no visitation, friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at the Rotary River Center, 1220 Riverside Drive, Beloit, WI, with the Rev. Gene Van Galder officiating. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Friends of the Riverfront, or to the Beloit Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Hugo Carl Johnson, 87, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 24, 1916 in Sharon, WI, the son of Gust and Eleanor Lignell Johnson. Hugo attended Sharon Schools. He married Edna I. Johnson on September 2, 1939 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on November 17, 2001.

Hugo was employed by Warner Electric Brake & Clutch, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his children, Nancy (Richard R.) Peterson of LaMonte, Mo, Richard (Renea) Johnson of Dodgeville, WI and Jerry (Beverly) Johnson of Bloomer, WI; one brother, Russell Johnson of Walworth, WI; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Agnes Gilbertson and Anna Carlson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2004 in the Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church with Reverend Thomas Groth officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the church.

Memorials may be given in Hugo's name to Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church.

Paul J. 'Bud' Jensen, 83, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, October 14, 2004 in his home after a long illness.

He was born on August 24, 1921 in Owatonna, MN, the son of Hans and Clara Schiffman Jensen. Paul served with the Minnesota National Guard. After his discharge he worked as a construction foreman on the Hanford Nuclear Site in Washington State. After the war he was employed by Beloit Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1983.

Paul was a member of the International Association of Machinist and the International Order of Foresters.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Barbara; one son, Rick (Diane) Jensen of Machesney Park, IL; two step daughters, Kathy (Ken) Norris of Richland, WA and Lynda (Mark) Abrahamson of Ladson, SC; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Steve) Scott, Nicholas (Brandi) Jensen both of Machesney Park, IL and Lynda Norris of Richland, WA; three great grandsons, Cameron Scott, Austin Jensen and Casey Dinger; four sisters, Iola Gontarek, Luella Peterson, Ida Mae Root all of Owatonna, MN and Eleanor Joachim of Maui, Hawaii.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Dan Wolf officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice.

Daniel G. Jocz, 85, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in his home.

He was born on July 2, 1919 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Ladis and Helen Petrykowski Laus. Daniel was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Ila Coomer on July 20, 1940 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him in September of 1997. Daniel later married Mae Dunberg on February 14, 1999 in First Baptist Church. She predeceased him on February 17, 2003.

Daniel was employed by Fairbanks Morse Company, Beloit Corporation and Rockwell International, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Kiwanis Golden K, and the Beloit University Club. Daniel was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was the past moderator and the chairman of the church renewal committee.

Survivors include his children, Daniel H. (Kathy) Jocz of Cambridge, MA and Bonnie (Robert) Potthoff of So. Elgin, IL; grandchildren, Kimberly (Al) Rubin of So. Elgin, IL and Robert (Judy) Potthoff of Naperville, IL; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Rachael, Rebecca and Daniel; step children, Dennis Johnson of Carson City, NV and Judith Knauer of Appleton, WI; six step grandchildren, Brenda Wells, Terry Wells, Brian Wells, Kelly Walzer, Dan Johnson and Dustin Johnson; six step great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joseph Jocz.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2004 in the First Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene VanGalder officiating. Burial will be in Avon Township Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or Beloit Regional Hospice.

Viola Irene Joyce, 99, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, June 25, 2004 in St. Anne's Nursing Home, Rockford, IL.

She was born June 5, 1905 in Lake Delton, WI, the daughter of Charles and Rose Kingsley Turner. Viola married Martin Joyce on October 25, 1924 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage, WI. He predeceased her in 1973. She was employed by Beloit Memorial Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1972.

Survivors include her children, Jane (Roger) Hagar of Seattle, WA, William (Patricia) Joyce of Johnson City, TN and Gerald (Marie) Joyce of South Beloit, IL; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grand daughter and one sister, Betty Chappell of White Bear Lake, MN.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sons, Robert and Donald Joyce, grandchild, Jeffrey Joyce, one brother, Claude, four sisters, Ruth Heberlein, Cressie Donahue, Dorothy Olivarus, and Esther Phillips.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2004 in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL with the Msgr. Thomas C. Brady officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in in her name to the Provena St. Anne Center at 4405 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL

Raymond J. Johnson, 81, of Rockton, IL, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 in Fair Oaks Health Care Center.

He was born on July 15, 1922 on the family farm in Shirland Township, IL, the son of Tudor and Daisy Bennett Johnson. Raymond was a graduate of Hononegah High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy receiving the Asiatic Pacific Medal, American Area Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Raymond married Violet Skogen. She predeceased him. He later married Jean R. Everson Haugen on June 25, 1976.

Raymond was employed by Beloit Power Systems as a machinist, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Janesville V.F.W. Post #1621 and the Moose Club of Harvard, IL. Raymond was also a member of the Shirland Congregational Church where he was the trustee, treasurer and deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; children, Vicky (Mark) Mullis of Florida and Gail Johnson of Beloit, WI; step children, Linda Cowan of Brodhead, WI, Carolyn Hagen of Hanover, WI and Rodney Haugen of Brodhead, WI; two grandchildren, Isaac and Melanie; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson of Rockton, IL, and Marie Clair of Janesville, WI; two nieces, Patricia (Russell) Mosher and Phyllis (Dave) Cummings both of Machesney Park, IL; several cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Wilbur Johnson and Clarence Johnson, one sister, Lillian Bender.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Roland Harkleroad officiating. Burial will be in Shirland Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by V.F.W. Post #2306. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Helen M. Johnson, 77, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, May 8, 2004 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 25, 1927 in East Delevan, WI, the daughter of Archie and Ethel Zarnstorff Turner. Helen married Basil H. Johnson on May 8, 1944 in Arkdale, WI. He predeceased her on January 14, 2003.

Helen was employed by Beloit Corporation, retiring in 1979. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, trips to the casino and was known as the 'Casino Queen.' She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Adams Friendship, WI.

Survivors include her six children, Joanne (Stanley) Nordeng of Orfordville, WI, Carol (Allen) Zimmerman of Clinton, WI, Linda (Mark) Nelson of Hines, MN, Mary (Jules) Johnson-Heffron of Friendship, WI, Robert (Charisse) Johnson of Beloit, WI and William (Joni Parish) Johnson of Beloit, WI; 15 grandchildren, Dawn Vertein, Christal Engebretsen, John and Jeffrey Zimmerman, Jamie, Heather, Jason and Joseph Lory, Zachary Anderson, Jeremiah Johnson and Andrea Koebernick, Branden and Brittany Johnson, Christopher Johnson and Cody Cornellier; four step grandchildren, Michell Nordeng, Beth Nelson, Jules Heffron Jr. and James Heffron; 16 great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Clausen of Lake Como, WI; three sisters-in-law, Pat Turner of Genoa City, WI, Shirley Johnson of Whitehall, WI and Doris Williams of Manitowoc, WI; special friends, Marvel (Jack) McKearn of Beloit, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Mary Branding, two brothers, Donald Turner and Jim Turner, granddaughter, Gwen Engebretsen, step grandson, Raymond Heffron and brother-in-law, Mark Johnson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor John Engelhardt officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
